Will Doctor Strange appear in Thor: The Dark World?
And could he be played by Viggo Mortensen?
A nice, juicy bit of superhero gossip for you this morning, with online reports suggesting that Doctor Strange may be due for a cameo in , with the man playing him none other than Viggo Mortensen.
The rumour stems from a Twitter account registered to one Roger Wardell who previously leaked the news that Falcon would be appearing in , as well as confirming Sebastian Stan's return as Bucky Barnes.
Now he has dropped a pair of new tidbits that may well be interconnected. "Inside News: There’s something “Strange” about Thor: The Dark World " reads the first tantalising tweet.
"Inside News: Marvel is negotiations with Viggo Mortensen for an unspecified role in one of their Phase 2 films” claims the second.
Even accepting that the intel is reliable, there's nothing to definitively say that the two tweets are interrelated, but that hasn't stopped fans working themselves into a right old lather over the prospect of Mortensen taking on the role of Strange.
A Doctor Strange movie has been rumoured for years… could this be the first step towards seeing that dream realised? We'll find out for sure when Thor: The Dark World opens in the UK on 8 November 2013.
