Although shot to pieces before he could finish his skin suit, Bill did get one brief moment of self-indulgent happiness while preparing for his home-made transformation. The film played it for grotesque horror of course, but to Bill, we reckon it was a small, fleeting, personal triumph amidst a life of nigh-constant anguish.
