In the game, Ellie finds Owen and Mel in the aquarium on her hunt for Abby, just as she does in the show. But, a more physical scuffle plays out in the game, while in the show, Ellie fires her gun once when Owen lunges for her, and the bullet kills both Owen anꩵd Mel, who is pregnant.
According to co-creator Craig Mazin, there is a reason for that change. "In the game, Elli💦e fights Owen (Spencer Lord), and then fights Mel, and it's only after Mel dies that her coat opens and Ellie realiꦜzes she's pregnant," Mazin told .
"But for this, Ellie is not really capable of killing Owen – you look at Bella [Ramsey] and you look at Spencer Lord, he's 6'4" and just incredibly im🍰posing," he continued. "A physical struggle wasn't going to go well, and she's not there to kill them. She just wants to kill Abby. I remember saying to Neil [Druckmann, co-creator] that as fucked up as that moment was in the game, I think it can be more fucked up and not to be a tormentor."
This might raise some eyebrows in the same way as Mazin's commen🎐t about Abby being more "competent" than Ellie. "Look for the devil, the devil's gonna find you. Abby seemingly is not like Ellie, in that Abby is incredibly competent," he said of the theater confrontation that follo♈ws the aquarium scene💛.

]]>Warning, spoilers ahead for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us season 2 ending! Turn back now if you're not up to date!
In episode 7 of season 2, Ellie goes to an abandoned aquarium on her hunt for Abby. She ends up accidentally killing two of Abby's friends – one of whom, Mel, was pregnant, to Ellie's horror. But, as those who've played the game will know, in The Last of Us Part 2, there's one more casu🧜alty: Alice the dog.
Alice doesn't make an appearance 𝕴at all in the show (so far), but in the game, Ellie kills the good pup, who you actually play alongside for a while as Aꦚbby.
"You get one dog murdering episode a lifetime," co-showrunner Craﷺig Mazin said in a press conference attended by GamesRa♉dar+. Mazin also created the show Chernobyl, which saw multiple dogs culled in the aftermath of the nuclear tragedy. "There are two cardinal rules in Hollywood. One, don't spend your own money. Two, don't kill the dog."
But, there's a more serious reason, too. "We had a situation where a number of horrible things were happening. Plus,♍ because it's live acti💝on, the nature of violence becomes much more graphic. It's more graphic. Because it's not like there's an animation between you and it; it's people. And it's very disturbing."
Plus, with how dark the rest of the episode was, it just ended up b𝓀eing overkill.
"Sometimes adding something that was cut from the game requires you to remove something that was in the game," added Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann. "So here, that sequence where Ellie drifts to the Seraphite island and almost gets lynched herself was something we used to have in the gam꧋e🅺 and cut it for just production… purposes. And then now we had three horrible things in a row. We had that sequence, Alice, and then Mel. And in our conversation, we're like, this is probably one one too many."

]]>In 2016, The Walking Dead season seven opened with the episode The Day Will Come When You Won't Be, which featured the villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) violently bludgeoning show favourites Glenn (Stephen Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) to death. The graphic and senseless nature of the killings . While it’s too early to gauge the long-term impact, ratings for The Last Of Us have remained fairly solid, up five million across all platforms according to , though the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:season finale saw a steep decline. S༺o, how did HBO’s hit avoid the same fate as its fellow zombie drama?
One of the answers is offering perspective, however painful that may be to fans grieving Joel’s demise. Much of the second season deals with the fallout from the first season’s finale bloodbath, where Joel kills an entire hospital full of F✨ireflies who intended to perform an operation on Ellie (Bella Ramsey) that would create a cure for the zombie outbreak, but kill her. At the end of season one, the only viewpoint we had was Joel’s, who did what he had to do to save his “Babygirl”. However, after a bri𝓡ef reminder of his lie to Ellie, season 2 opens with the victims of his actions.
“None of this is fucking fair” exclaims Abby, standing at the grave of her father,☂ one of many killed by Joel. The remaining Fireflies stand by, asking why he would do such a thing, but Abby is twisted by anger, grief, and survivor’s guilt. From another perspective, she may hav🎉e been the hero of this story, instead of the shocking executioner she becomes at the end of episode 2. Enraged by Joel’s demand to “get this over with”, she growls: “You stupid old man, you don’t get to rush this.”
It doesn’t m൩ake what happens next any easier, particularly as we’ve spent 11 episodes growing attached to Joel and Ellie’s father-daughter bond. It does, h𝕴owever, provide some justification. We aren’t metaphorically standing at Joel’s grave asking why, and Abby isn’t the swaggering torturer that Negan was. There is a struggle in her revenge, offering some sympathy from the beginning of episode 2, in a dream sequence where she tells herself not to walk through a door that will reveal her father’s corpse. Negan didn’t get anything close to a sympathetic portrayal until season 9 of The Walking Dead when many had given up on the show.
The impact of what Joel did echoes across Ellie’s subsequent quest for revenge. In episode 5, cornered and facing infection, Abby’s accomplice Nora reads off Joel’s charges: “Don’t you k💦now what he did?” she asks, “he killed everyone in that hospital, including the only fucking person alive that could make a cure from you. That was Abby’s father. And Joel shot him in the head. That’s what he did.” It’s a grim assessment, underlining how ⛄he is seen by those who survived the massacre.
The Last of Us season 2 ꧃cliffhanger explained: W♛here is Abby?
So, is this series aiming for longevity by flipping the roles, turning loveable Pedro Pascal into the villain of the p♚iece? Not really, as while Abby’s justification for killing him is aired, so too is his reasoning for saving Ellie. Her calm response of “I know” to Nora’s claims, followed by Ellie meeting out the same kind of brutality as Abby, shows a kind of messy morality where “good” depends on your point of view.
This is underlined by Joel’s justification when confessing what he did for Ellie in a flashback. Accepting that he’ll “pay the price” but that he’d do it all over again “because I love you, in a way you can’t understand. Maybe you never will. But if that day should come, if you should have one of your own, well then, I hope you do a little better than me.” As Ellie ꩲlooks to become a parent with Dina (Isabela Merced), she could understand his perspective sooner than she expected.
Season 2 ends from Abby’s point of view, something we will be seeing a lot of in season 3 if the next season sticks to the structure of the game. She may always be a villain to those who loved Joel, but the senselessness of his exit is taken away by telling a story where there are no heroes or villain🥃s, just people fighting for what they love. With that in mind, it will be easier to follow Abby into future episodes, instead of abandoning her in the way many did with Negan.
Check out our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us season 2 review for even more on the show. You can also. keep up to date with our everything we know about 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us season 3.
]]>Although the third season is likely to still be a long way from arriving on our TVs, we've still got a pretty good idea of what to expect thanks to knowledge of the game and insight from the cast and showrunners. We've got everything you need to know about The Last of Us season 3 right here, from a potential release date to our best predictions at a cast list and plot summary. We've also got answers to questions you might have about the timeline of the game (and why 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us season 2 finale ends the way it does).
Be warned, though: there are spoilers for The Last of Us season 2 below, as well as spoilers for The Last of Us Part 2. Ma😼ke sure you're ca𝕴ught up on season 2 before you read any further.
Because The Last of Us season 1 aired in 2023 an🐎d The Last oℱf Us season 2 premiered in 2025, we can expect a similar two-year wait for season 3.
Co-showrunner and head writer Craig Mazin recently told GamesRadar+ ꧃that they havﷺe not yet begun writing season 3. Now that season 2 has ended, it's likely that work will begin fairly soon, and we'll have a better idea as time goes on. But for now, 2027 seems like🦋 a fair assumption.
The Last of Us season 3 will continue to adapt The Last of Us Part 2, which follows Ellie as she sets out for revenge against Abby, who brutally murders Joel after it's r🌼evealed that the surgeon Joel killed at the end of season 1 was actually Abby's father. And not only that, he was also the oꦇnly living doctor who was capable of making a cure for the Cordyceps virus. At the end of The Last of Us season 2, Ellie manages to kill all of Abby's friends before she and Abby have their first confrontation, which ends with Jesse's death. Abby then shoots Ellie before we cut to Abby waking up in The Stadium (WLF headquarters) with on-screen text that reads, "Seattle Day One."
Catherine O'Hara recently confirmed that seas꧃on 3 will, ꦏin fact, center on Abby's story - which isn't a shock to anyone who has played Part 2. To explain, The Last of Us Part 2 is told from Ellie a🅷nd Abby's points of view, with the player controlling both characters. The timeline in the game is then split in two: Ellie's perspective: Jackson, Seattle Day One, Seattle Day Two, Seattle Day Three; Abby's perspective: Seattle Day One, Seattle Day Two, Seattle Day Three; and The Farm/Santa Barbara.
The switch to Abby's perspective shows us what she was doing during those three days that Elie and Dina were hunting her down, and gives us some backstory that makes us reluctantly sympathetic for her and her reasons for killing Joel. Day Three takes us back to the The Last of Us season 2 finale, but from A꧅bby's perspective - the player hunts Ellie down, rather than hide from Ab♛by.
During The Farm part of the game, we see Ellie's life with Dina and their baby. Their peaceful life is interrupted when Tommy pops up and tells Ellie that he's tracked Abby's whereabouts to Santa Barbara - and that she should absolutely go and kill her (which does seem a little ou💃t of pocket for TV show Tommy). Ellie does leave for Santa Barbara, which is where Abby and🔯 Ellie's final showdown takes place. The game ends from Ellie's perspective.
That being said, we can speculate that The Last of Us season 3 will start with Abby's 🐼Seattle Day One, Two, and Three - and potentially end there. Because a season 4 has been planned (though not yet renewed), it's possible that the fourth season will center on The Farm and Santa Barbara, saving Abby and Ellie's final confrontation until then (especially with what O'Hara said about season 3 focusing mainly on Abby's story). It's wor🤡th noting that season 2 does change the narrative quite a bit, what with telling us within just the first few minutes of the season that Abby plans to kill Joel - rather than keep her reasoning something of a mystery until we play through her perspective.
Because of this, we can expect many more narrative changes as well as a crop of new characters. It's possible that showrunners and writers Craig Maܫzin and Neil Druckmann decided to save Lev and Yara, two members of Abby's crew who become essential to Ellie's story, for season 3 so as not to muddle or complicate the main plot.
Though her friends are dead, season 3 will show us what Abby was doing in Seattle while Ellie and Dina were hunting her down. Because of this, Abby's crew will return - though we're not sure if Le൩v and Yara, two 🔯members of the WLF who become an important part of Ellie's life and story, will appear. Bella Ramsey and Isabela Merced will no doubt return, as well 🤡as Jeffrey Wright's terrifyiꦉng Isaac, who has more or less been made a larger antagonist in the show than he was in the game (and we're not complaining). We can also only speculate that deceased characters like Jesse and Joel will appear in flashbacks.
It's also worth noting that Catherine O'Hara said she "definitely" wouldn't be appearing in season 3, b𝓀ecause of its central focus on Abby. We also most likely won't be heading back to Jackson in season 3, though Tommy and Maria do appear in The Farm portion of the game (which we may or may not see in season꧋ 3, but are much more likely to see in season 4).
Brand new characters created specifically for the show are also likely to appear (and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the Seraphites will make a return, given ♒that they are the main enemy of the WLF). Based on what we know so far, we've compiled a speculative cast list below.
Craig Mazin✨ and Neil Druckmann (who created The Last of Us video game franchise) will return as showrunners and head w꧙riters, with a possible return from screenwriter Halley Gross.
There is no trailer for The Last of Us season 3, as writing or filming has not yet begun. Because we can speculate that the season will air in 2027, we can most likely expect a trailer around then, if n🍨ot in late 2026.
As Mazin and Druckmann have said time and time again ⛦(), it looks like they plan to stretch The Last of Us Part 2 over at least two more seasons. After the official season 3 renewal, Mazin told : "There’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season. Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome."
Season 3, adapting the same timeline as the video game, will focus on Kaitlyn Dever's Abby, and show us where she was when Ellie and Dina took off for Seattle, leading us back up to the events of the season 2 finale. However, if season 3 is once again only seven episodes, we can speculate that seaso💝n 4 will give us the final showdown between Ellie and Abby that happens at the very end of the game.

]]>The episode opens with a flashback to Isaac's time with FEDRA. After listening to the soldiers brag amongst themselves – one soldier p🎉layed by Josh Peck, in a surprise cameo – he climbs⛎ from the truck, pulls a grenade, and throws it inside, shutting the door afterwards.
It ♋seems like a flashback meant to show us Isaac's ice-cold demeanor, but it's actually a moment from The Last of Us Part 2. In the game, Ellie and Dina open the doors of a FEDRA truck and find multiple dead bodies inside. It looks like we saw the origin story of this very moment. Check out a comparison below.

]]>Spoilers for The Last of Us Part 1 and 2.
Since The Last of Us came out in 2013, we've debated ♑if we wo🌄uld have chosen to kill the Firefly doctors to save Ellie or if we would have let them study her brain, killing her, for a chance at finding a cure to the cordyceps infection ravaging the human race. It was an impossible choice: the human race, or your humanity?
A wrinkle in the choice, one that made Joel🎀 more sympathetic, was that we didn't know if the Fireflies would actually be able to make a cure. In the game itseౠlf, no one knows if Ellie's immunity can be copied or used to help other people. Would you sacrifice a child who'd essentially become your daughter for just a chance to develop a vaccine?
The debate has been raging for 12 years. The ambiguity has led to d🦋ifferent perspectives and arguments all being true at once, keeping the game interesting all these years. But now, Druckmann has a definitive answer.
"Could the Fireflies make a cure," Druckmann asks in a clip posted to Reddit? "Our🀅 intent was that, yes, they could. Now, is our science a little shaky that now people are questioning it? Yeah, it was a little shaky and now people are questioning that. I can't say anything. All I can say is that our intent is that they would have made a cure."
from
So, there you have𒈔 it, Joel doomed the world by selfishly choosing to save Ellie. No more debate is needed, it's his fault the cycle of violence continues. "That makes the most interesting philosophical question for what Joel does," Druckmann adds, but a lot of fans disagree.
"I liked the ambiguity of not knowing if there was a 100% success guarantee out of sacrificing Ellie,"ꦡ 𒁃 one ResetEra user. replies, "Agreed. It should be left unknown."
"Should 🃏have left it up in the air," states a🌜 fan on . "This makes the first game look worse… we should’ve never known," another.
I'm on the side of the people here. This answer flattens what was once an interesting philosophical debate into a simple tr🌳olley problem. Kill one person to save everyone - that's a no-brainer.
There's been a new push to paint Joel as a definite bad guy, removing any of the greyness from his world and the decisions it forces onto the survivors. To Abby, he's the evil m🌌an who killed her father, one of the doctors about to operate on Ellie. To Ellie, he's both the man who saved her life and took away its purpose💛. He was all of these things. But now, he's just the man who doomed the world.
Now that these games are solved, debate done, check out all the upcoming 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:video game release dates. Maybe some of them will also give us endings we discuss for a decade.
]]>In episode 6, there are six flashbacks involving Joel: the first one takes us all the way back to 1983 when a teenage Joel is having a heavy conversation with his father, before we jum🎐p forward to Ellie's 15th birthday, followed by her 16th birthday, her 19th birthday, and, finally, the aftermath of the New Year's Eve party from the first episode of season 2.
In the video game, however, these scenes💧 are more spread out, but showrunner Neil Druckmann (who also directed this episode) thinks concentrating the flashbacks was 🍃the right choice for the adaptation.
"In the game, when you are experiencing one of those flashbacks that are spread out throughout much more, they’re not all consolidated like this – for example, the museum one, whereas in the show it’s a few minutes long, in the game, it could be close to an hour if you’re exploring every different nook and cranny," he explained to . "You are Ellie, and you’re there with Joel, and they have lots of conversations that you could get into that headspace. You g🍸et in the flow state, and you’re experiencing this thing with the two of them."
He continued, "I think if we were to take, let’s say, the scenes that we wrote for this episode, and spread them out over the season, a few things would happen that I think would have a negative effect. There’s one, I don’t know if they would land, because they’re relatively short. And two, you might not be missing Joel enough if we started spreading them throughout the episodes. We felt like for the show, we would get a lot more 🉐impact if we brought them all together and you could see them side ✱by side and feel the deterioration of that relationship."
Of course, we haven't seen Joel since episode 2, when he was brutally murdered by Abby. His absen🤡ce has been felt in the three episodes since, which have revolved around Ellie and Dina's quest for revenge against Abby a💮nd her group of fellow WLF members as the pair attempt to track them down in Seattle.
"I also had concernꦿs that the episodes would turn into a bit of a template," Druckmann added. "It’d be like, 'Okay, what’s the Joel flashback this week?' So, it was nice that the characters and the viewers could really miss this character, and then we get in the whole bunch for one last time."

]]>Episode 6 was full of flashbacks, but one took us back a bit further than the others. The episode open𝓡s in 1983, when Joel and Tommy are teenagers. Joel is trying to cover for Tommy so he doesn't get in trouble with their dad, and this results in Joel and his dad having a conversation at their kitchen table.
As one eagle-eyed fan pointed out on , their father is w💫earing the watch that his late daughter Sarah fixes and gifts to him in the very first episode of the show, and that Joel continues to wear throughout the series. "Looks like it really is a family heirloom," another fan pointed out.
During the flashback, Joel's father tells his son about the violence he experienced from his own dad and says that if Joel ever has kids of his own, he hopes he does a slightly better job than 𒊎he has. In the final flashback of the episode, when Ellie confronts Joel on the porch on New Year's Eve about what really went down with the Fireflies at the end of season 1, Joel says a very similar thing to her.
"That hits way too hard, I wo⛄nder if Joel forgave him in that last monologue," someone else commented, while one viewer proposed another connection between father and son. "I was trying to see if the revolver on the dad’s hip was the one he used and Ellie now uses, but I couldn’t get a good look," they wrote. "I’m just gonna headcanon it as a yes."
As another commenter pointed out, Joel's revolver is looted from a random dead body in the video game. "In the show it's his original revolver the whole time, which attaches more meaning to it (and even more if it was his dad's t🔥oo)."

]]>If you're still here, you'll know that Ellie and Dina's second day in Seattle culminated with Ellie confronting Nora (Tati Gabrielle), a WLF d♈octor who was pr🌺esent when Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) killed Joel (Pedro Pascal) in episode 2.
On the run from both the infected and the WLF, Dina is injured by a Seraphite arrow and Jesse (Young Mazino) takes her to safety, and Ellie slips off to find Nora in the hospital. Nora won't tell her where Abby is and makes a break for it, but Ellie corners her in the hospital's abandoned basement. It's abandoned for a reason, though – the WLF has sealed it off after 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Cordyceps spore𝓀s were found down there that cause airborne infection.
Of course, Ellie is still immune, but Nora isn't so lucky and starts 💎to choke to death. She refuses to tell Ellie anything, so Ellieജ begins to beat a dying Nora with a metal pipe. It's a brutal moment, but fans are loving Ramsey's performance.
"Bella, you absolutely bodied that scene," one fan wrote on . "I was cautionary about the writing of Ellie so far, but you absolutely nailed it. The cold stare, the slow monotone voice switching t🎃o pure anger, all of it. Great work."
"They were absolute𝔍ly incrediꦅble, as always. The scene gave me chills," someone else replied.
"THIS was the Ellie (♐the cold, killer one) that I was looking forward to seeing," wrote another fan.
"I was a bit worried, after the last episode, that they wouldn’t fully integrate Ellie’s losing of herself on her revenge mission, especially after the pregnancy reveal," said someone else, referring to what Dina tells Ellie in episode 4. "But seeing her leave a wounded Dina and a vulnerable Jesse to go find Nora erased that completely. She put so𒅌me of the closest people to her second, risking their death, to go get information about Abby. I’m very excited for the remainder of the season."
"When Nora was spouting off about the hospital and Abby's dad, I was wishing for Ellie to say 'I know' especially after the build up between the Joel/Ellie tension in ep1 and Dina telling Ellie the story of her first kill," another fan said. "And🦩 then she said it. Stone cold ve💝ngeance mode. Such a fantastic moment. Perfect delivery. No notes."

The WLF and the Seraphites are at war with one another, but the episode doesn't really give us many answers about the conflict.
"The question is, what is Isaac pursuing? And these questions about this war m🍌ay not be answered this season. There will be some mysteries," showrunner Craig Mazin said on .
"Now that we’re renewed for season three, we could say, you will definitely get those," his co-showrunner Neil Druckmann ad꧟ded.
"That’s the thing," Mazin continued. "We just didn’t know if we were getting canceled, guys. We will absolutely find out exac🧸tly what they’re about, exactly what he wants, which is the most important thing to understan♑d about characters, but there will be some mystery to sit with for a while."

]]>One fan of the games and star of the sho💧w who's present for that iconic and gut-churning sequence is Tati Gabrielle, who plays one of Abby's (Kaitlyn Dever) friends, Nora. Incredibly, 🍬the star was seemingly okay with that heartbreaking scene – it was having to watch another that was created especially for season 2, she couldn't handle. Posting a gorgeous bit of artwork from on of Tommy (Gabriel Luna) taking on a Bloater, Gabrielle confessed, "Surprisingly, THIS moment is what gave me the worst video game PTSD lol."
By taking Tommy out of his brother's scene, Joel's brother needed something to do, and unfortunately, that meant battling a monstrous variant of the infected with a flamethrower. While this never happened in the game's story, this kind of confrontation was a common occurrence for many playing it, espec𒐪ially with the added stress of being low on ammo, just like Uncle Tommy was when his weapon started to run out of gas.
Thankfully, Joel's brother lived to fight another day, and that should include providing backup for Ellie as she continues her mission of vengeance against the Salt Lake Crew. You can se𝐆e how the two get on as The Last of Us continues this week on Max.
]]>"I think watching this, you have to lean into your feelin♔gs that you’re feeling in each moment," Merced told the audience at a screening for The Last of Us season 2 episode 3 (via ). "I don’t think the writers and the designers of the game wanted you to be wiser. I don’t think they wanted you to be like 'Oh, everyone’s bad because they’re all after their own thing.' I think they really want everyone to lean into their frustration and their pain."
The Last of Us season 2 adapts The Last of Us Part 2 video game, which fast forwards five years to an older, more independent Ellie and wizened, but hardened Joel. Merced plays Dina, with whom Ellie forms an extremely close relationship after meeting at the Jackson settlem🥃ent.
We won't spoil the new season if you're still catching up, but an earth-shattering event changes the course of Ellie's entꦓire life - and fans of the show (who haven๊'t played the game) did not see the event coming.
Ellie embarks on a mission for revenge with Dina by her side, and we encounter a plethora of new characters wꦛho also seemingly only have their own interests in mind. It's an emotional and complex season for sure, but it's worth sticking it through.
Added Merc🐼ed: "They’re cooking. The meal’s not done yet. I don’t think you have to be bigger than the message."

If you🅠're still reading, then you'll know that Pedro Pascal's Joel was brutally killed in episode 2. Then, in episode 3, Ramsey's Ellie is seen mourning him, crying while smelling one of his shirts in his closet. As Ramsey has revealed, this was the scene they found the most difficult.
"Oh God, in the closet, that was the hardest [scene]," Ramsey told . "So I really struggle with crying in scenes. I can get a tear out, but that's different to crying. And even getting the tear, it doesn't come easy for me. I don't cry in front of people in my everyday life. A very, very limited amount of people in my life will see me cry. And so having to do that on a set full of people with the monitor and then more people watching the monitors… it's virtually impossible for me. So I was really worried about that scene, and that was the toughest꧃ one for me to shoot."
Showrunner Craig Mazin has also teased that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询🐠:a brutal scene involving E🅺llie is coming up. ]]>The following will contain spoilers for The Last of Us season 2 so far as well as the game, so turn back now if you're not up to date!
In the latest episode, Ellie visits Joel's grave⛄ after he was brutally murdered in episode 2. She leaves some coffee beans for him, and it's a quiet moment that's destroying fans. "The coffe🍨e beans got an audible reaction out of me, goodness," . "I hadn't cried yet and that got the tears flowing," .
"At least we know they're definitely not going to skip the final porch conversation now," – in the game, a devastating flashback reveals Ellie and Joel's final conversation took place on the porch that's seen💛 quickly in episode 1, and Joel references having to trade for coffee (hence the beans).
In the show,🍒 Ellie lied to ✃Gail and told her she didn't speak to Joel when she saw him that night.
"We already knew the porch scene was going to ꧒happen because Ellie's guitar is back in her room the next morning. But the coffee beans confirm it," .
As upsetting as Joel's death is, though, Pedro Pascal 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历🌃史查询:had a surprisingly mellow reaction to it. "I think this is the best one," Pascal joked. "No, it's in competition, I ꦛthink, with Game of Thrones. It has to be. I love the golf club. I'm going to start golf."

]]>In an interview with showrunners Neil Druckmann (creator of The Last of Us games) and Craig Mazin revealed that they'd battled with the idea of precisely when the big de🅺ath was going to happen. "Because even in the game, there♓’s like an hour or something before you get to this moment. But we also knew it needed to be early enough, because this is the inciting incident for this story," Druckmann explained. "So yes, we always pick every permutation, but the later it got in the season, it just felt we were kind of dragging our feet instead of just getting to the meat of what the story is about."
Getting to that moment was harrowing for all involved, with Pascal himself admitting, "I've never experienced anything like I😼 did that day." Mazin revealed that timing was everything, partic💎ularly for those who knew Joel's ride up to that snow-swept building would be his last. "There’s a danger of tormenting people. It’s not what we want to do. If people know it’s coming, they will start to feel tormented," he explained. "And people who don’t know it’s coming are going to find out it’s coming, because people are going to talk about the fact that it hasn’t shown up yet. Our instinct was to make sure that when we did it, that it felt natural in the story and was not some meta-function of us wanting to upset people."
Either way, fans weren't going to finish the episode in the best of moods with Joel's passing, but the trailers have already confirmed that Pascal will be back in later episodes this season, diving into why these two were on tense terms before everything went to hell. T🦄o get the ful🐽l rundown on how episode 2 differs from the events of the game, head here, but don't blame us if you start tearing up again.
]]>In🍰 the episode, Bella Ramsey's Ellie stumbles across a m𒈔agazine while sheltering from a snowstorm. It's an old issue of People, and on the cover is Aniston. You can just make out the headline "best and worst dressed."
"Of all the things to surv𝕴ive 🌳the apocalypse," Aniston wrote on her Instagram story, complete with a laughing emoji (H/T ).
The 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Cordyceps outbreak happened in 2003 in the show, which makes this magazine a r💟elic over two decades old. We're as surprised as An🌼iston that it held up all those years.
Episode 2 was a particularly brutal one, too, with (spoiler alert) the death of Pedro Pascal's Joel, murdered by Kaitlyn Dever's Abby as revenge for killing her father back in the season 1 finale. By the sounds of things, it's only going to get w🌌orse from here (as players of The Last of Us Part 2 will know).
"I was scared of her, and I didn't like her, and I didn't want her to do what she's doing," 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:showrunner Crai๊g Mazin has said🦋 recently of an unseen scene involving Ramsey's Ellie. "I look at her, and she's breaking my heart. I'm just like …" He added: "I'm telling you, Bella Ramsey."

The Last of Us season 2 has already shocked viewers with that brutal moment in episode 2, which sees Joel murdered by Kaityln Dever's Ab🐎by – and, if you've played The Last ofಞ Us Part 2, you might have a good idea of what Mazin could be talking about for Ramsey's Ellie.
"Understanding [from the show's outset] the limited time me and Pedro have together has made us really cherish each other more," Ra💟msey has said previously of bid꧒ding goodbye to Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel in the show. "It was something that we got quite emotional about while we were shooting. We'll be in eaౠch other's lives forever, and we'll be in each other's hearts forever."
Pascal, meanwhile, has 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:shared a more lighthearted response. "I think this is the best one," Pascal joked. "No, it's in competition, I think, with Game of Thrones. It h🍨as to be. I love the golf c꧟lub. I'm going to start golf."

]]>Be warned, I'll be getting into some spoilers for The Last of Us season 2 episode 2, so turn back now if you don't want to know wꩲhat's coming.
In the scene, Pascal's paternal ꧂Joel, who has guarded Ramsey's Ellie across the show's wasted landscape, is brutally murdered right before Ellie's eyes. It's a horrifically violent scene that players of the game knew was coming, but is nonetheless bloodcurdling. But Ramsey was able to get through it as an actor thanks to the close bond they share with Pascal, and thanks to their strength as a performer.
"Understanding [from the show's outset] the limited time me and Pedro have together has made us really cherish each other more," Ramsey tells . "It was something that we got quite emotional about while we were sꦛhooting. We'll be in each other's lives forever, and we'll be in each other's hearts forever."
Pascal has opened up about the moment himself, explaining the weight that filming it carried on set, while also joking about how the violence of the moment stacks up against his equally hardcore death scene from Game of Thrones.
For Ramsey, gett✨ing through the moment with authenticity as a performer actually involved separating themself from what was coming. "The most intense scenes to shoot are often the easiest for me because I know exactly what that scene needs to be," they explain.
"I almost went too far and made it too normal and pretended it wasn't happening right up until the moment where it did happen," Ramsey continues. "♐That's how I approach scene🤡s like that. If I think about it too much, then I've got too much anxiety and stress about it."

]]>Right off the bat, before we even get into the details, I'm gonna warn you that we'll be discussing spoilers from season 2 episode 2 of The Last of Us, so if you're trying to stay completely spoiler free, turn b𝕴ack now.
Last chance to avoid spoilers!
Still with us? Great. Because once again I am forced to regretfully inform you that a beloved character played by the even more beloved actor Pedro Pascal has died, as his character Joel from 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us has met an ignominious and brutally violent end.
In the episode, Jo✨el is beaten to death with a golf club by Kaitlyn Dever's Abby as revenge for killing her father in the first season. It's not a surprise to anyone who played the games the show is based on, as Joel's death is one of the most famous moments from the second game.
Pascal is taking his latest death well, jokingly comparing it to his gruesome Game o💮f Thrones death in which his character Oberyn Martell had his head crushed by the bare hands of a massively outsized opponent.
"I think this is the best one," Pascal jokingly . "No, it's in competition, I think, with Gಞame of Thrones. It has to be. I love the golf club. I'm going to start golf."
The death wasn't a surprise to Pascal, who had plenty of time to prepare, as he was told right from the start that his character would die. Still, it was a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:༒moment that carried serious weight🍨 on set.
"It was part of the deal. They're like, 'Don't worry, you're going to die' And I was like, 'Okay, I'll take it!'," Pascal quips. "I just think 𒆙that the series is based on very specific source material, and so that was always a part of the presentation of the idea that we wou✱ld go all in on season 1, shoot for 11-12 months in Alberta, and then it would take a totally different shape the second season. And this is why it was like that."
Pascal's The Last of Us death comes hot on the heels of the season finale of Daredevil: B🅰orn Again,꧂ in which a character has his head crushed in a similarly brutal fashion to Pascal's death in Game of Thrones, pushing the envelope significantly for a sh༺ow set in the MCU.

]]>The Last of Us is getting another re-release, this time bundling both games together into a "Complete" edition that's perfect for anyone looking to get into the games after watching 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:season 2 of the HBO adaptation. The Last of Us: Complete digital versi𒊎on is available now, while a physical Collector's Edition is coming on July 10. Both are PS5 exclusive.
Although like Skyrim, The Last of Us has been memed to death for the amount of times it's been ported, touched up, and re-rel𓄧eased, in truth this is actually a pretty genius play by Naughty Dog. With the second season of HBO's The Last of Us TV show gearing up to premiere this weekend, there will no doubt be a renewed interest in the games that came before the show, and with so many different versions out there, it makes sense to bundle the "definitive ways to play" together in one place for convenience.
In case there was any doubt, The Last of U♉s: Complete packages in The Last of Us Part 1, a ground-up remake of the 2013 action horror game, and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, the enhanced PS5 version of the 2020 sequel, which originally launched on PS4. The Last of Us 2 Remastered includes the base game as well as hours of audio commentary, three 🌊deleted story sequences, the roguelike No Return mode, Guitar Free Play, and other goodies.
The Last of Us Complete's physical release comes in custom packaging with some really stunning art, and the actual disc is housed in a Steelbook case with the same artwork. The discs themselves have "new, minimal designs" as well. However, the real star of the show are the custom lithographs from various artists included in the Complete Collector's Edition. I alr🌄eady have The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2 Remastered, but these art pieces are making me take a hard look at my bank account to see if I can justify the $110 price tag. I mean, can you blame me?
Pre-orders for the Collector's Edition are currently available only on the PlayStation Store. Both versions of the Complete edition include the 2014 Left Behind prequel chapter that comes with Part 1, while the physical edition also includes The Last of Us: American Dreams Comics #1-#4 with some new co𝄹ver art and a thank you note from direc🦂tor Neil Druckmann.

]]>Simply put, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us Part 2 has some of the best third-person action I've ever played, deftly combining incredibly slick and tactile stealth with bursts of high-intensity violence – from grabbing enemies who separate from the pack to drag the🌃m behind c꧋over for a good stabbing, to getting spotted and desperately fleeing through gaps in fallen shelving before diving prone into long grass to hide and re-enter cover. It's great in the main campaign, even if it condemns the cycle of violence while encouraging it in the same breath, but embracing the cycle in No Return works wonderfully. Ah well, nevertheless.
The Last of Us Part 2 first released for PS4 in 2020, with The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered coming to PS5 in 2024 and bringing numerous enhancements – including the roguelike No Return mode. I enjoyed it quite a lot on the platform, but this PC port 🌳doesn't just add a slew of PC features that further enhance the game (I'm able to reach some extremely high framerates whil🎀e maintaining super high fidelity on my own rig), but brings with it lots of fresh content for No Return specifically.
What did we think of the game? In our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Part 2 review, we called it "an astonishing, absurdly ambitious epic" where it💧 earned the coveted 5 🐈stars
This mode has you select a character to m♑ake it through a series of discrete stages that branch out from a startpoint, ending in a boss. Along the way you collect pills and other upgrade materials to enhance your build, all while trying to stay ahead of the curve on things like ammo and health kits. Each stage can have different possible rules and modifiers, from beginning in stealth for each wave of enemies, to each offed foe dropping an explosive when killed (yeah, a spanner in the works if you're tryin🉐g to be sneaky in that one).
While I liked The Last of Us Part 2's story well enough (it doesn't hold a candle to the much tighter, focused original though), No Return manages to condense what I really loved about the game into a repeatable loop, championing the excellent combat. The action here feels so realistic and tactile that I can't help but wince with headphones on every time Ellie pulls the trigger on a rifle and the sound echoes out across a room, or gasp as she takes a bullet and is literally knocked to the ground. Slow creeping as you crawl pron𓃲e through long grass or under trucks can, at a moment's notice, switch into high-gear as you quick-throw bricks or tag enemy legs with bullets to open them up to incredibly violent melee kills. My mum was present for a few brutal executions – we were meeting for coffee – and I had to apologize for the sensory assault of unpleasantness. Secretly, though, I wasn't sorry at all. My swearing and cackling is all part of the fun, even if it ends with a failed run. Sorry, mum.
Four new maps and two new characters have been added to The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered: No Return – Nest, WLF Streets, School, and Overlook. For a roguelike, adﷺding more options to a pool can make a big difference in the runs you encounter, and all of the above adds much more variety for me compared to my first✃ impressions of the mode last year. The latter two maps I really like, both adapting areas from some of my favorite parts of the campaign – Overlook, atop a towering ruined skyscraper with lots of verticality, feels like little else in No Return.
Bill and Marlene, meanwhile, fill out an already impressive roster of playable characters you unlock by completing runs. It's great to see No Return go beyond simply including characters from the first game (Ellie and Abbie are joined by a slew of their companions ꦬfrom throughout the game – though the latter's pals scrape the barrel a bit). Each character already managed to feel surprisingly unique, fitting their own personality into the template of guerilla-like violence; Bill and Marlene manage to take this even further.
Needless to say, Bill specializes in traps that can help fortify enemies hunting you down, or make use of bottlenecks in assault modes – and as a smuggler he's able to get more ou🍷t of the dead drop challenges that see you having to scoop up items as you deal with🌊 waves of enemies, able to access his own unique items. Marlene, meanwhile, is a "risk taker", meaning using each stage's gambits can pack more reward, and, as a Firefly, she can even reroute the path of levels you've picked.
I love how these two don't just have their own spin on the third-person action, but feel like they're also interacting more closely with the very rulesets of No Return itself. The PS5 launch was a great start, but I didn't expect the roguelike mode to get so much TLC – no comp♚laints from me, though. At first, I found the prospect of redoing my progress from PS5 a bit annoying, but completing the challenges to unlock new tools and options for each sub💛sequent run hooked me back in, especially when it came to working towards unlocking Bill and Marlene.
No Return still isn't perfect. Having played so many hours of The Last of Us over the years, you do get used to some key strategies that can sometimes dominate a lot of your runs. Even if this new update does do a lot to c🃏ounter that by adding more variety, once you're in the flow of a run it doesn't change all that much until the next one.
I'm hoping that beyond this update helping to add a bit of fresh paint to freshen up The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for PC, this is t🐭he start of even more to come. The two new characters can't help but make me wonder if even more new maps could embrace key areas from the first game. Though at that point, No🌌 Return threatens to become so feature rich it could almost become a full game in and of itself. The Last of Us Part 2 Factions, the standalone live service multiplayer, was cancelled. Perhaps this mode could better fill a gap for something smaller scale? Ah, maybe I'm just being greedy.
It's worth mentioning as well that The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered does still have its lengthy and intense campaign mode – which looks extra gorgeous on my PC. Beyond No Regrets, other additional modes include a surprisingly in-depth guitar simulator that🥀's already eaten up way too much of my time, and a really interesting selection of cut content and dev commentary, allowing you to even play through some of the unfinished sections.
I thought I was done with The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, but this PC release has dragged me back in. It's safe to say that No Return managed to get its hooks into me 🧜once again, this time even deeper thanks to ﷺthe well-judged updates. No Return? No regrets.

]]>In a (translated via Google Translate), Billbil-kun said, "Accor♋ding to our information, a new special edition of a game in The Last of Us franchise is in the works, with a physical release on PS5."
While the leaker isn't 100% sure on what this special edition will entail, he did mention that the sp♛ecial edition will cost $109.99 / €119.99. While this could be a version of either game with some bonus extras, the leaker does speculate it could potentially be a pack including both games (The Last of Us Part 1 and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered), which would make sense given the price.
However, from the sounds of things, it won't be too much longer until we find out what this mysterious special edition will be, as Billbil-kun says, "Everything seems to indicate that the officialization of this edition, as well as the opening of pre-orders, would take place very soon, in a ꦫ𝔍time window that we estimate to be within two months."
Obviously the next two months are important to The Last of Us, as the second season of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:TV series is set to air between April 13 and May♑ 25, 2025. Plus, it could be a good way to celebrate the five-year anniversary of the second game, which happens ෴on June 19, 2025.
]]>In any piece of zombie-inspired fiction, you'll be dealing with characters having to make horrible decisions, whether that be to steal food and supplies from other people trying to survive or to kill an infected companion in order to stop them from becoming a monster. The Last of Us is no different, with Joel and Ellie making a number of rough choices across both games. But one of the biggest is Joel's choice at the end of the first game. As a heads up, we'll be spoiling plot beats from both The Last of Us games here and, by extension, the TV series (including potentially spoiling Season 2 of the show ahead of time), so be aware.
At the end of The Last of Us, Ellie is taken in for a surgery that – if successful – could potentially lead to a cure for the cordyceps outbreak. Joel, upon learning that this surgery will result in Ellie's death, goes on a murderous rampage and kills൲ every person in the hospital. Fans have debated about Joel's actions since the game released in 2013, and now the showrunners of the TV series, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann (who also directed the games), have weighed in on it.
, Druckmann said, “I believe Joel was right… If I were in Joel's position, I hope I would be able to do what he did to save my daughter.” Despite Druckmann saying he and Mazin had differing opinions on this, Mazin admitted, "I think that if I were in Joel's position, I probably would have done what he did," although he was a bit less committal than Dr💝uckmann, saying, "I'd like to think that I wouldn't. That's the interesting push and pull of the morality of it."
However, it wasn't until 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us Part 2 released seven years later that we saw the full effects of what Joel did. Th♉e doctor whom Joel murdered to start his rampage wa♋s the father of the second game's playable character, Abby, who then dedicated her life to learning how to play golf and getting revenge on Joel – setting the plot of the sequel into motion. So while Druckmann didn't condemn Joel in his answer, it is clear that he somewhat agrees that his decision was questionable.
Druckmann recently talked about a potential The Last of Us Part 3, saying, "so many stars have to align, I can't guarantee it."
]]>Speaking in a new interview with Etalk (below) at the premiere of The Last of Us TV show's second season, Druckmann is asked about his recent statement to , when he told fans: "Don't bet on there being more of Last of Us. This could be it." Specifically, he's asked if he's had any change of heart and might be interested in expanding on the series in either game or TV form. While he doesn't give a direct yes or no answer, he makes it clear that he doesn't ever bet on there being a sequel for any of his works.
"Every game I make, every project I work on, I treat it like it could be my last," he explains. "So I just pour everyt෴hing into it, I leave nothing on the table."
Druckmann notes that this is how he treated the first Last of Us game, making sure it had a "definitive ending" since "I wasn't sure I could ever get to make a sequel." He recently made this same point in an interview with , where he admitted that he "wasn't sure they would ever let me direct a game again," ღso he wanted to make sure that the "story could stand on its own."
Back to his chat with Etalk, he reiterates that it was the "same thing" with Uncharted 4, and "when I worked on Last of Us 2, I was like, 'I don't know if I'll ever get to do this again.' It had this definitive ending. That is the ending we're working towards. Forꦗ there to be another one, anoth𒁏er thing, another project, so many stars have to align, I can't guarantee it."
For now, Druckmann says his focus is on the current season of the game's TV adaptation before moving to the next season - "hopefully, if HBO renews us," he adds. Beyond that, he's also got Naughty Dog's latest game, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, to work on – the sci-fi adventure doesn't have a release date just yet, but it was 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:announced for PS5 at The Game Awards at the end of last year.
While Druckmann isn't offering any reassurance or hinting that he might change his mind on Part 3 in the future, there's still a tiny glimmer of hope for fans of the series, considering that he's apparently felt this same way multiple times before. He recently spoke about the fact that he doesn't have the "confidence" to plan for sequels, and yet, The Last of Us Part 2 is certainly a thing that exists. However, if in some huge change of plans it does 𓂃one day happen, it doesn't seem like it wil൲l be any time soon.

]]>Speaking to about the upcoming second season of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us TV show, Druckmann is asked what the greatest challenge was when it came to moving to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us Part 2 after the first game. It sounds like it all came down to the fact that it didn't really need a sequel in the first place, as he explains: "When we made Part 1 [the game], it was purposefully designed because part of 🔯it was that I wasn't sure they would ever let me direct a game again. But I wanted to do something that was complete, had a beginning, middle, and end, and if I never got to do it again, then the story could stand on its own."
That didn't mean a sequel couldn't happen, of course, because it did, but in order "to justify" it being made, Druckmann and the team had to "find a concept that could continu꧅e the themes of the first game and continue the journey with those characters, but make it a story that could stand on its own and also, with the two together, enrich each✃ other."
He reiterates that, in a "kind of similar" situation to the development of the first game, the team was "not sure we could ever do it again," so in the moment, Naughty Dog focused on ensuring it "has a definitive ending, but in a lot of ways, mirrors a lot of the stuff that happens in the first game." It sounds like this might have been for the best, because in another recent interview with , Druckmann said: "Don't bet on there being more of Last of Us. This could be it."
Druckmann's latest comments to Game Informer also tie into something he said at last month's D.I.C.E. Summit, when he admitted that he doesn't have the "confidence" to plan for sequels, and doesn't want to save up ideas to use in the future. Instead, he'd rath🅰er try to get his ideas into whatever game he's already working on. "You're jinxing yourself if you're starting to think about t♒he sequel when you're working on the first game," he believes.
]]>Taking to the forum, one fan asked, "Anyone else think it’s unbelievable that Bill didn’t w༒ear body armor with plates?" This is a fair assessment when considering the small siege that Bill had to fight off near the tail end of the episode. The question sparked a lively debate about a small detail that could have made a significant difference in the show's heart-wrenching third episodeꦆ, "Long, Long Time." supported the argument, but considering the fortress Bill had built for himself and Frank, he may not have felt the need to wear any. "Unbelievable that he wouldn’t own body armor with plates? Sure. Unbelievable that we never saw him in i, given the circumstances surrounding his scenes? Not at all."
The issue led other fans to poke holes elsewhere in the episode, , "The only unbe✃lievable scene for me is Bill in the middle of the street shooting the raiders with a sniper without any cover." Come on, Bill – get it together, guy.
argued that it was perhaps fi🌱nding love that made him lose his whip-smart tactical methods. "Over time due to companionship and love he’s softened ever so slightly and the night of the raid he doesn’t think, he panics and just acts, acts recklessly too, in order to protect the one he loves he runs out guns blazing. Like he says in the show, he was never afraid until he met Frank. The fear and the adrenaline hit him, and he reacts probably like most people in a crisis."
Either way, it's an element that can easily be overlooked, thanks to the heartfelt story told in the groundbreaking series' standalone chapter. When The Last of Us season 2 arrives on April 13, we'll have to see if there are any more like that. To get yourself fully preparedꦅ for when Joel, Ellie, and the Clickers return, get everything we know about The 🎀Last of Us season 2 here.
]]>As Naughty Dog details in a new , The Last of Us 2 Remastered: No Return is adding four new maps and two new playable characters, Bill and Marlene. Marlene you'll remember as the main antagonist and final confrontation from the first Last of Us game, in which she tries unsuccessfully to operate on Ellie's brain before being fatally interrupted by Joel, kicking off the events of the second game and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us season 2.
Bill you might remember from the first game, but it's 🅠more likely that you remember him from The Last of Us season 1, which dedicates an entire episode to his heartbre🔯aking romance with Frank. It's arguably the best episode of the show so far and one of the most emotionally impactful television episodes I've ever seen.
Thܫe new maps are: Overlook, School, Streets, and Nest. Overlook is near Seattle and features "plenty of verticalit💝y," School is the location from Part 2 where Ellie and Dina square off with the WLF, Streets takes place in the overgrown Seattle neighborhood of Hillcrest, and Nest is just Nest. Naughty Dog just says it'll "be familiar to players who have played as Abby through an Infected-infested building," which could refer to several scenes from the game.
While the addition of new The Last of Us 2 Remastered content is a happy surprise, it's not entirely random. The new maps and characters coincide with the launch of The Last of Us 2 Remastered's PC port on April 3, and Naughty Dog assures PS5 players that the new content will be available on all💦 platforms at the same time.
]]>The Limited Edition Last of Us DualSense controller will be available for pre-order at 10am local time on March 14, regardless of your region. Since this 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:PS5 controller takes its nam🎃e from one of the most popular gaming franchises ever, it's no surprise that they're flying off the shelves. If you're in the US, be ready to grab yo꧅urs at 10am whatever time zone you find yourself in. It definitely seems like season 2 of the HBO adaption is bringing in renewed interest, so expect some tough competition.
The Limited Edition Last of Uꩵs DualSense controller will set you back $84.99 if you're in the US and £74.99 in the UK. Sony's announcement said that for sure pre-orders will launch at PlayStation's Direct virtual store, but the UK's shop has been strangely quiet in the UK so far. The announcement also mentions "participating retailers". This is the important bit since if stock disappears rapidly over at PlayStation's website in the US, you'll want to race to your next source of stock before it vanishes too. For a full rundown of the retailers that will likely be in play, check out the list I've pulled together below.
I'll be updating this page today as and when pre-orders go live. I'll put handy links next to each retailer I mention below so that you can use this page as a guide to quickly navigate between them. The controller itself will launch on April 10 in most regions, although depending on where you're based, your controller could arrive later. Season 2 of the HBO series airs on Max on April 13, so you should get your controller right on time for a fresh playthrough of the second Naughty Dog game. Speaking of which, The Last of Us Remastered for PC launches on April 3, s🐽o all these launches are linking up with one another.
✅ PlayStation Direct Store |
The Last of Us DualSense is available now at PlayStation Direct, although you may need to wait in a queue to get your pre-order. The page also says you'll need your PSN account and Sign-in details handy to ensure you checkout in time to get one.
✅ Amazon |
Amazon's stock has just gone live. You can add the new DualSense variant to your cart and checkout, so go go go! It isn't all that common to see Amazon stocking pre-orders for a limited edition PS5 controller on the day they become available, so hopefully it has a decent stock pile.
✅ Walmart |
Walmart is packing stock of the new DualSense, so if you don't have success with PlayStation Direct, jump here first.
✅ Best Buy |
Best Buy is stocking the new DualSense as well, although for me, the buy button is greyed out and says "coming soon". I'd keep your eyes peeled for stock becoming available, because it could be gone in a flash once its live.
✅ PlayStation Direct |
PlayStation Direct was slow on the uptake today, but it's now showing stock of the latest limited edition DualSense for its £74.99 price tag. Given how quickly stock has disappeared so far, I'd act quickly if you want to secure one.
✅ Currys |
Following some retailers losing stock immediately this morning, Currys has come to the rescue and is now showing pre-orders for the Last of Us Limited Edition DualSense. There are also opportunities for bundles here too, if you're looking to grab some extras.
❌ Very |
Very was surprisingly quick with its UK stock this morning, and after a brief refresh, it's run out again. This may be a good one to check back with as the days and weeks run on, but this controller is in high demand so buy fast if you see it.
❌ Amazon |
For once, Amazon had pre-order stock for a limited edition DualSense from the word go! It's now saying "currently unavailable" on the listing though, so this is somewhere to check back with in case they refresh a new batch.
Argos |
Argos is surprisingly reliable with new DualSense launches, and it's the second place I'd visit if stock dries up at PlayStation Direct.
GAME |
GAME has stocked the last few Limited Edition DualSense controllers, so it could be a decent place to check this time around if all else fails.
For how lovely and detailed its design is, the new Limited Edition DualSense doesn't have any extra features from your stock PS5 pad that came with the console. The DualSense Edge is the controller to go for if you fancy a bit more utility in that respect, although there are also plenty of third-party PS5 controllers that are so good that they appear on our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best PC controller list too.
While the benefits here are all in the looks department, I can't blame any The Last of Us fan for wanting to get a hold of one of these limited ediꦫtion gamepads. Compared to the Helldivers 2 edition, this one has a more subtle look about it, and although it has loads of details you can admire close up, its simple black and white design looks right at home with the PS5 and PS5 Pro's aesthetics.
Admittedly, you will need to pay a little extra for the privilege of adding this to your DualSense collection though. The regular DualSense colors may not cost you as much, so if you're looking for a replacement and you're not married to this 🍌Limited Edition model, there are other alternatives to opt for.

]]>Baker, who plays everyone's favorite grumpy dad, Joel, in The Last of Us and its sequel, has a lot of praise for Naughty Dog's award-winning action adventure, and he's not the only one. In an , prominent actor Matt Mercer (who's appeared in countless games, including Fire Emblem: Awakening, Persona 5, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Fallout 4) says The Last of Us was "a watershed moment for what video games could be as a storytelling medium." Meanwhile, Erika Ishii (Destiny 2, Apex Legends, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and many more) says breaking into the games industry around🐬 the same time as TLOU was like "being there at the advent of cinema."
Needless to say, Baker agrees. "It became like the fridge, it became the Kleenex, it became the brand name for quality and storytelling within games," he says. The actor also claims that after that, "you started having all subsequent stories that were told from there," before specifically referring to Quantic Dream founder David Cage (writer of Detroit: Become Human), and Remedy Entertainment cr𒁃eative director Sam Lake (writer on Control and Alan Wake 2). Of course, it should be pointed out that both Cage and Lake were involved with significant games long before The Last of Us was even released, from Heavy Rain to Max Payne, as well as the gems they've made since.
There's no denying the overall impact of The Last of Us, anyway – you need only look at the mountain of awards accumulated by the original and its sequel, not to mention their continued popularity. Despite all that, though, the game series isn't guaranteed to continue – Naughty Dog studio head Neil Druckmann recently stated that fans shouldn't count on there being a Part 3, saying: "This could be it."
]]>Druckmann got his start in video game development at Naughty Dog, and Garland has written both movies and video games and more recently turned to directing films like 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Annihilation, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Ex Machina, and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Civil War. Garland also wrote the script for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, a fantastic video game starring 💫Andy Serkis. It's a Western retelling of Journey to the West, the story Black Myth: Wukong is based on.
In the Sony Creator to Creator video, the two chat about 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:being lonely in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Naughty Dog's upcoming video game, and how it's still 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:evolving and changing during the development process. Druckmann also jokes about how this 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:game about faith and religion will surely get less hate than 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us Part 2.
Towards the end of the conversation, the two get a little more existential. "I've heard you say in some interviews you need to take💫 a break from directing," Druckmann says, adding that some people have "misinterpreted" this as Garland retiring. "I'm curious, asking for a friend, when is it enough? When is it time to stop the compulsion?"
"Compulsion is the word," Garland responds. "Writing is the product of co🐬mpulsion. For that reason, it's not a free will issue. You either have the compulsion at that moment or you don't. I do find that even when I am not working, I have nothing to work on, I'm just jotting down story ideas. I don't know why. It's quite eit𒆙her zen or existential or something, because I write these things down, I save them somewhere, like on a bit of paper, and then I never look at them again, ever."
Does this mean Druckmann is considering leaving the industry? He's been around for the best part of 20 years, so maybe he wants to do something else with the rest of his life. Maybe he'll go into movies or TV, or maybe he'll just take a step back and do something else entirely. Or ma♓ybe he'll just retire.
We can't know for sure, so for now, why don't you check out our list of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Uncharted games.
]]>Following the release of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the new trailer for season 2, the cast was in attendance at and teased what we could expect from this gut-wrenching but gripping world audiences have learned to love. In the case of the show's brand new cast member, Mazin revealed Dever's history with the post-apocalyptic drama before she was thrown into the mix. “Kaitlyn was within The Last of Us DNA because when she was younger and [co-showrunner Neil Druck🥀mann] and I were contemplating making The Last of Us as a movie were considered casting her for Ellie. And when the show rolled around she was no longer convincingly 14, I think it’s fair to say. "
An attempt for a big-screen iteration of The Last of Us came to life in 2014 with Sam Raimi on board as producer. Unfortunately, the project ran into the most challenging levels of video game adaptations – development hell. Sony demanded big, bombastic set pieces, whereas the franchise's creator and now co𝐆-showrunner, Neill Druckmann, wanted a quieter indie film. At the time, Dever had g🎐otten as far as a table read for the role of Ellie before things fell apart. Now, years later, the star who missed her shot of taking the role of Joel's 'cargo' found herself in a very different perspective altogether.
"Our m☂ethod is to sit with [actors] and talk to them," explai🐷ned Mazin. "Making the show is hard. It’s hard and grueling. She’s an amazing actress, and you got to want to do this, and she wanted it.”
So how is Dever handling the gig now that she's been given full access to a virus-riddled nightmare she already had a glimpse of years before? “I think I just wanted to reౠally focus on who Abby is in her core and her emotional journey and establishing her grief and how broken she is," she revealed. "That was the main goal for me.”
You'll see if she completes her mission when The Last of Us returns for its second season on April 13. If you want to add more to your watchlist, check out our guide to all 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the best upcoming shows here.
]]>The Last of Us season 2 sees the return of Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, while Kaitlyn Dever joins the cast as Abby, along with Isabela Merced as Dina and Jeffrey Wright💞 as Isaac.
Ensuring to keep its infected cards close to its chest, the new trailer gives us a glimpse at the relationship between Joel and Ellie after the cross-country trip they took, which ended in a res🏅cue mission and a lie that Joel could never go back on.
Now, some time later, and as revealed in the closing moments of the preview, the secret is out ("You swore," a tearful Ellie says to Joel), and the bond that had been built through d👍anger and despair is at risk of being broken. If that's not bad enough, there's the added danger of infected and outsiders closing in to make tougher than ♋they've ever been.
Don't expect season 2 to be the exact same as the game, though. "I love the changes that we've made," 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:co-creator ꦕNeil Druckmann said recently. "It's a different version of that story, but its DNA is in there. Maybe more than excite꧃d, I'm really curious what their reaction will be."
We know this won't be the last season, either – though it's unclear at the moment how many more installments could remain. "We don’t have a complete or final plan, but I think it’s looking like four seasons," Fra✃ncesca Orsi,🃏 EVP and head of drama at HBO, said earlier this year. That means another two series could p✤otentially be on the wayᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ after season 2 wraps up.

]]>Yeah, in case you missed it, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad 𝓀news, but Druckmann poured a lot of cold water on the idea of a follow-up game to The Last of Us 2 in an interview with p꧙ublished on Wednesday, saying, "don't bet on there being more of Last of Us."
It's perhaps conspicuous timing, then, that PlayStation dropped an announcement for a new limited edition PS5 DualSense controller themed around The Last of Us, as if i☂t's offering it up to console the Sad Gamerওs.
Of course, said Sad Gamers are mostly just making jokes about how this is a remaster of the current DualSense, a nod to Naughty Dog's recent history of remaking and remastering existing games instead of releasing anything new. (The studio's next game, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet, sounds cool so far but is likely a couple of ye𒀰ars ꦚaway.)
Anyway, to its credit, the Last of Us controller looks pretty sick. It's an inverse of the standard DualSense with a black and white color scheme embossed with a bunch of trophy icons from both gamไes, with logos for the Fireflies and the ꧅WLF, as well as an image of a moth, being the most prominent.
You'll be able to pre-order the limited edition controller starting on March 14, and✨ it'll be available in stores April 10. It's not🌞 clear how long it'll be available.
]]>"I love the changes that we've made," co-creator Neil Druckmann told . "It's a❀ different version of that story, but its DNA is in there. Maybe more than excited, I'm really curious what their reaction will be."
While we don't know what all of these changes are, one thing we do know is that Abby will be a little different. Kaitlyn Dever is playing the character in season 2, but she's not quite as buff as her video game counterpart. "There's not as much violent action moment to moment. It's more about the drama," 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Druckmann expl🐭ained earli🐷er in the year. "I'm not saying there's no action here. It's just, again, different priorities and how yo𝐆u approach it. Kaitlyn has the spirit of the game in her. What I always loved about the idea was that you are going to c🍎ontinually be challenged as you were in season 1."
We also know that season 2 will incorporate 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:"pretty brutal" scrapped content from the gam𓆉🌱e. "I'm ve🍸ry excited for people to see it," Druckmann has said.
Along with Dever, the cast includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Isabela Merced as Dina, and Jeffrey Wright as Isa𝔍ac.

]]>It's been a lingering question whether Naughty Dog would follow-up 2020's acclaimed The Last of Us Part 2 with another sequel, and in an interview with , Druckmann gave us our clear🍌est answer yet: no, probably not.
"I was waiting for this question," Druckmann said. "I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of 'Last of Us.' This cꦑould be it."
With HBO's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us season 2 on the way, and the TV show's plot being a direct adaptation of the games, I'll be careful not to spꦉoil anything, but let's just say✨ the sequel ended fairly definitively. There aren't a whole lot of loose ends to tie up, so if there was a Last of Us Part 3, it would likely have to introduce some new plot element rather than just follow up on existing narrative threads.
The first season of HBO's TV series was a fairly direct adaptation of the first Last of Us game, but it sounds like the second season will be different. We've known for some time that there would be more than two seasons of the show, and talking to Variety, Druckmann's co-showrunner Craig Mazin said he's still not sure how lon🔜g it'll go.
"It feels like we’ve got one or two more seasons," Mazin said. "It's getting harder to make, 🍨because every episode gets big. You don't want to wait four years for a 17-episode finish, or whatever it is."
]]>Shuhei Yoshida once led Sony Interactive Studios during some of its golden years, from 2008 to 2019, before helping indie teams on the platform. He's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询🍬:now retired from PlayStation completely and is, luckily f🎐or us video game history nerds, spilling the beans 🤪on some lesser known stories.
Speaking to the Sacred Symbols Podcast in a paywalled interview (via ), Yoshida looked back on Naughty Dog's scrapped spin𒅌-off that was aiming to turn the original Last of Us' unexpectedly great multiplayer mode, Factions, into a full-fat live service. Yoshida said he "played the game and it was great."
That didn't stop Naughty Dog from pulling the plug on the game in 2023 to澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询: instead work on multiple single-pla🥃yer projects, though.
"The idea for The Last of Us Online came from Naughty Dog and they really wanted to make it," he explained. "But Bungie explained [to the studio] what it takes to make live service games, and Naughty Dog realized, 'Oops, we can’t do that! If we do it, we can't make 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.' So that was a lack of foresight."
There have been rumblings that Destiny makers Bungie had something to do with the game's cancellation for a while, and this is our first co𝕴nfirmation from someone properly in the know. It also makes some sense, too. If The Last of Us Online did become the next big multiplayer hit, there's almost no way the studio could support never ending updates and development of its big single-player blockbusters at the same time - and there's even less of a chance that publisher Sony would want them to prioritize the latter.
While there was reportedly never any mandate that first-party studios had to chase the live service dragon, Yoshida also said develo♑pers had a much easier time of get💮ting a project greenlit if it did include live service elements, so we're kinda just splitting hairs. "Riding on that gives them a better chance of getting a project approved and supported," he said.
Don't lose hope, though. There are tons of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:new games coming in 2025 and beyond.
]]>As , Druckmann and Sony Santa Monica's Cory Barlog were both speaking at the D.I.C.E. Summit last week when the question of how their respective teams approach developing characters over m🍒ultiple games came up. For Druckmann, this clearly isn't something he plans ahead for, because he "never" thinks about "multiple games" at a time.
Beyond arguing that "the game in front of us is so all consuming," Druckmann believes that "you're jinxing yourself if you're starting to think about the sequel when you're working on the first game." Instead, he approaches development with the idea, "'what if I never get to do another one?'" He adds: "I'm not saving some idea fꦿor the future. If there's a cool idea, I'm doing my best to get it into here."
That doesn't mean he can stop any and all sequel ideas from entering his head, of course, as he acknowledges that when he was making 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us Part 2, "every once in a while an idea pops in your head of where it might go if we get the chance to do another one." Unfortunately for anyone hoping for The Last of Us 3, he didn't elaborate here on what these ideas might have been, even if he did previously tease that "there's probably one more chapter to this story."
Barlog, on the oth♎er hand, compares his own approach to being like the meme of Charlie's Pepe Silvia conspiracy board in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia 🧸with the way he tries to "connect and plan with all of these pieces." As far as Druckmann is concerned, this "requires a level of confidence I just don't have."
But without any plans made in advance, what does it look like when Druckmann actually does start work on a sequel? He explains that he asks himself what unresolved elements are still left over and where the characters could go next, and quips: "I feel like the answer 🅘is, they can't go anywhere, then I go, 'I think we'll just kill them of💙f.'" The Last of Us fans already know that well, of course.
To be clear, he's "half joking," but he reiterates the importance of the team coming up with "a new answer" that doesn't repeat what's come befꦦore. He adds: "And if we don't have a new answer then we should ask♍ ourselves, is this the right character? Is this the right game for us to work on? Or is it time to find something new?"
Right now, Naughty Dog is working on something totally new in the form of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a sci-fi adventure that looks like a far cry f𓄧rom the studio's previous games. It's set to launch on PS5 at some point in the future.
]]>A new 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us season 2 trailer is here, and it introduces us to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Kaitlyn Dever's Abby, as well as confirming an April release date.
In the clip, which you can watch above, we see Abby walking through a hospital as a creepy siren wails in the background. "It doesn't matter if you have a code like me," she says in a voiceover. "There are just some things everyone 🦩agrees are just wrong."
We also see the return of Bella Ramsey's Ellie and Pedro Pascal's Joel, along with 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Isabela Merced's Dina and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Jeffrey Wright's Isaac.
What everyone is obsessed with, though, is Dever's take on Ab♛by. "Abby looks so spot on," , with : "I have a feeling Kaitlyn Dever is gonna make a great Abby"
"Omg Kaitlyn Dever looks amazing here ! Her voice is great too," . "This looks amazing already and I know Kaitlyn Dever looks nothing like Abby in the game but I feel like her look is honestly even better, and she’s a phenomenal♓ actress… I can’t wait!" .
from
"She's the perfect Abby♒. Really happy with her casting and knowing she's a great actress just solidifies she’ll do a great job," . "Omg she really is the perfect Abby. Heck……she is Abby!!!" .
You'll be able to see a lot more of Dever's Abby in The Last of Us season 2, which is coming to HBO and Max sometime this April. While you wait, check out our guide to the year's most exciting 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming TV shows.
]]>"We're all thrilled to bring The Last of Us Part 2 to the PC🐼 audience, including all the grea🐟t new features we added in the Remastered version for PS5," game director Matthew Gallant .
"We hope players enjoy the captivating story, rich combat mechanics, extensive behindไ-the-scenes commentary, and test their skills in the roguelike mode No Return. We're working hard to ensure that the game feels great on this new platform, and has the high performance and robust features that PC players expect."
The Last of Us Part 2 Remaster🌊ed lands on your personal computer on April 3, 2025. The launch will make Naughty Dog's beloved franchise more widely available than ever, which is neat, though I imagine it is what's beyond that 💎has fans more excited.
Since The Last of Us was released in 2013, we've seen the post-apocalyptic adventure remastered in 2014 before a bigger overhaul landed with The Last of Us Part 1 in 2022. During that time, we also sa🎃w a new release in 2020's The Last of Us Part 2 that was then remas👍tered four years later. We also got Uncharted 4 and a smattering of DLC for both series over the past 10 years, but a theme of remakes and remasters certainly took hold among fans.
All of that to say, when Naughty Dog appeared at The Game Awards 2024 with a trailer ꦚfor something new in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, fans were excited to see something new from the s🌊tudio that wasn't a remaster of something we've experienced not💃 too long ago.
The feeling among Naughty Dog fans is something Neil Druckmann is k𝕴eenly aware of, telling the (paywalled) that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet was a difficult secret to keep.
"It's really hard to work on these things in secret and silence for so many years," he says, "and then to see our fans go on social 𒆙media and say, 'Enough with the remasters and remakes! Where are your new games and new I.P.s?'"
Then, with a sense of relief I imagine, he sa🎃ys, "We are finally starting to lift the curtain 🌱on this thing."
Naughty Dog hasn't offered a release date yet, but the sci🔯-fi game has been in the works since 2020 and is being built with the PS5 i𓃲n mind. After many moons, I imagine fans are simply glad the studio is "finally starting to lift the curtain on this thing."
Missed it? Here's everything announced at The Game Awards 2024.
]]>Announced at The G𒈔ame Awards tonight, all of you on PC will soon be able to play the second s🤡tage of Joel and Ellie's journey through a zombie-infested world. As per the game's , the PC version will come with improved graphics, the roguelike No Return game mode, and full DualSense controller integration if you want to feel like you're playing on a PS5.
The Last of Us Part 2 continues Ellie and Joel's journey. It follows a grown🅘up Ellie as she embarks on a self-destructive journey of revenge. It's a dark tale in a grim world, making the original game look like a happy memory in comparison. I adore Naughty Dog, but I've only played through this game once because it felt so heavy.
There are also a few very brave twists that I won't spoil here, but I didn't anticipate any of them when I played through the game at 💃launch.
I'll admit, I was a little sad at first because it feels like Naughty Dog has just been a remake and remaster studio for the last few years, but the final reveal of the show excited us all as 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the studio's new game, a fresh IP called 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet graced our screens.
While you wait, it's the perfect🌌 time to play through The Last of Us: Part 2 Remastered, and I hope now that it's on PC we get some cool mods. The possibilites there are quite literally endless.
While you're here, check out our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:live coverage of The Game Awards.
]]>After co-directing The Last of Us, Uncharted 4, and The Last of Us Part 2, Druckmann took a more executive position at PlayStation's long-running Naughty Dog studio but he's still heavily involved in actually making its upcoming games, too. Following the cancellation of The Last of Us Online, the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:studio confirmed it♌ had "more than one" single-player game in the pipeline - and more recently, Druckmann hyped up one in particular by saying it ♋"could redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming."
And just last week, speaking to , Druckmann said that the team's next project is the "most excited he has ever been" for an in-development game. We don't know much about whatever the team is working on, though it's probably not going to be a Last of Us threequel since Troy Baker recen🐓tly confirmed that he's ඣreuniting with Naughty Dog for its next release after putting on the mocap suit for Uncharted 4 and both Last of Us games as ma♊in man Joel.
Aside from remaking the first apocalyptic classic and remasꦚtering The Last of Us Part 2 this year, Naughty Dog hasn't put out a brand new game since the abovementioned sequel four years ago. No one can say anything for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a proper announcement somewhat soon as these teases seem to be getting more and more frequent as the days trek on. Whether the game is another Uncharted, an all-new series, or a return to th𓃲e studio's forgotten platformer roots (fingers crossed) is anyone's guess, though.
]]>♏Running down Baker's upcoming projects - which include a notable role in the BioShock successor Judas - as part of a lengthy feature꧙ on Baker's career, reports that "he will return for Druckmann’s new project at Naughty Dog." The magazine quotes Druckmann as saying, "In a heartbeat, I would always work with Troy."
Baker is a prolific voice and motion capture actor, and has appeared multiple times in Naughty Dog's Uncharted series as Nathan Drake's brother Sam. But his most notable role is probably Joel Miller in The Last of Us - and here's where a spoiler warning has to come in for those of you who've managed to dodge the spoilers for Part 2 over the past several years. Suffice to say, Joel is in no condition to return for a third entry in the 🐲series.
Naughty Dog has yet to confirm what its next project will be, but Druckmann has noted that they "🌌will🎃 not be The Last of Us studio forever" - while also teasing that "there&a🅰pos;s probably one more chapter"♑ to The Last of Us's story. Still, the only ways Joel might come back are in flashback, via time t🥂ravel, or through a mustache-twirling evil twin. Only one of those i༒s likely, but a Joel cameo isn't the kind of thing to get casually announced in an actor profile like this.
No, I'd venture to guess that Bake൩r's likely involved in some othওer Naughty Dog project as a different character entirely. Another Uncharted game featuring Sam Drake is certainly on the table, as is - perhaps more interestingly - an entirely new series with all-new characters. Or heck, maybe Naughty Dog will go back to its platformer roots and put Baker in for some hyper-big-budget Jak and Daxter reboot.
]]>Troy Baker has been a pretty unavoidable fixture in mainstream games for well over a decade since the actor has lent his voice and mocap performance to everything from Uncharted 4, Marvel's Avengers, and Final Fantasy 13 to Death Stranding, Tales of Vesperia, and Bioshock Infinite. But now, even though video game adaptations are booming on the big screen and streaming services, Baker says 🌸he's not too ജkeen on making that same jump.
In an interview with Gamology, Baker explains that he gets "more excited now about seeing somebody step into that role in a different medium" who can depict "a different version of the same character" that he's already played in a video game. "I'm more excited about the other version of it than I am repeating my version of it." That was pretty much the case in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:HBO's The Last of Us show, where Pedro Pascal adopted the lead ro꧒le while Baker slipped into the shoes of an all🐲-new character.
Part of Baker's hesitation comes from his familiarity with the medium, too. "I really like games, I understand games," he continues. "That does not meanಌ that film or TV has no appeal to me - clearly I loved working on the HBO show. But I think what this whole experience has taught me is that if I play a character in a game, I know how to do that economy [and] I know how to deal with those resources." Baker talks about how, in a game role, he might sometimes just be in a booth with a mic and a developer on Zoom. Compare that to an HBO production littered with hundreds of millions of dollars worth of cameras and extras and elaborate sets and higher stakes, and you can't really blame him for having a preference.
]]>"I heard from somebody very in the know, who worked on [Naughty Do🦹g's next game], that they're like 'Jesus Christ,'" Ben Hanson, formerly of Game Informer, says on the most (thanks, ). "The tone was like, 'You are all not ready for how amazing this thing is going to be.' I'm not going to say the game that they referenced to compare it to because I don't want people to be like, 'MinnMax said it was going to be exactly like this!' But they compared it to a game with a lot of player freedom. Like, 'Did you like that game?' And I said 'yes.' And it's like, 'Well, there you go! It's going to be good!'"
That's, uh, vague, to say the🙈 least, but given how desperate fans have been for new info on whatever Naughty Dog is doing next, any tiny morsel of insight is going to be devoured. Hanson notes that the game referenced was not Hitman, but beyond that, the meaning of "player freedom" her🌱e is completely open to your interpretation.
We've already seen Naughty Dog take a few tentative steps in this direction. Uncharted 4 saw some experiments with semi-open-world areas in an otherwise linear game structure, and that idea was greatly expanded in the early Seattle chapter of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us 2. It seems Naughty Dog was originally quite keen on that idea, too, as the studio has confirmed The Last of Us 2 was original𒆙ly a Bloodborne-inspired open-world game.
As for Naughty Dog's next game, studio head Neil Druckmann noted back in 2023 that he was interested in "tryin🤪g something a l𒀰ittle bit new, a little bit different, that not everybody's going to like." In the same interview, he said♎, "I'm more recently intrigued by stuff like Elden Ring and Inside that doesn't rely as much on traditional narrative to tell its story." He quickly noted that the studio's unlikely to ditch dialogue and cutscenes altogether, but it seems likely this next ಌgame will still take on a much different form than we've gotten used to from Naughty Dog.
Last year, Naughty Dog canceled its The Last of Us multiplayer game after nearly four years of work.
]]>HBO's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us season two aired its first full trailer yesterday, a🍸nd eagle-eared fans of the game are already get𝕴ting flashbacks to scenes they'd rather not remember.
The Last of Us season two has now 澳洲幸运5开♑奖号码历史查询:properly reintroduced us to E💯llie and Joel, now seemingly living so🔜mewhat more normal lives five years after the Firefly showdown, and added Kaitlyn Dever's Abby to the mix. But things don't stay safe for too long, and before you know it, clickers and survivors alike are screaming 🌼through the lens, practically begging for more Emmys.
Anyone that's played The Last of Us Part 2 knows what all that crying is about, however, and the trailer alludes to one particularly brutal scene more than once. When things get extra intense in the trailer, a whistling sound rings out in the background of some quick cuts. But that deafened ringing is actually ripped straight🌱 from the early scene in The Last of Us Part 2 where Abby turns Joel's head in🤡to a golf ball. You can see the side-by-side comparison in the clip below.
oh they’re sooo evil for using the same audio. pic.twitt🌄er.com/1vbHTtUWTZ
It's the sound editing equivalent of HBO winking at the audience that knows of what's to come and is already traumatized, while nodding its head at anyone still in denial about Joel's fate, which is both twisted and sort-of hilarious. What's extra neat about the Easter Egg is that the noise s𒆙tarts ringing out at the exact second that Joel and Abby first cross paths.
Abby can be seen scurrying away from a clicker horde, crawling through snow, and cornered by a fence in the trailer. That is until the 1-minute 11-second mark where an infected pins her down, Joel's gun flies into frame ready to save his would-be-murderer, and that awful, all-too-familiar sounds begins to play. Ouc𒀰h.
Not everything will be revealed in this upcoming season, though. Adapting The Last of Us Part 2 will require multiple seasons of television.
]]>HBO boss Casey Bloys gave an update to foll♏owing the Emmys, and it seems the n💖ext season of the hit game adaptation will be released in time for next year's awards season.
"Well, all I'll say now, generally first half of the year," Bloys said of when we can expect The Last of Us season 2 and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The White Lotus season 3. "I expect them to be in the Emmy window."
He also gave a🎶 small tease about what to expect. "I've seen Last of Us. I think everybody is going to love what [co-creator] Craig [Mazin] is doing. White Lotus I haven't seen anything yet, but I went to visit. Obviously, I've seen dailies and read scripts, so high hopes for both of them."
The new season will adapt The Last of Us Part 2, and Kaitlyn Dever will be portraying the game's second protagonist Abby, with Isabela Merced joining as Ellie's love interest Dina. "Give her the damn Emmy, honestly" 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查✤询:Merced teased of Dever's performance. "I'm so 🌼excited for people to see how incredibly well [Ellie actor] Bella [Ramsey] and Kaitlyn did on this."
Pedro Pascal will return as Joel, with other newcomers including🏅 Catherine O'Hara, Young Mazino, Danജny Ramirez, Ariela Barer, and Tati Gabrielle.

]]>During the PS5 Pro Technical presentatio🔯n below, lead architect Mark Cerny began by demoing The Last of Us Part 2 running on the upcoming console. "It has huge amounts of detail and targets a super smooth 60 frames per second," he said, while Ellie runs through an ov🐎ergrown city. The same scene is then shown running on a normal PS5 at 30fps, which Cerny reckons is "therefore much choppier."
Cerny t✅hen shows how Sony has reached "this goal of delivering almost fidelity-like graphics and performance frame rate" by doing the same side-by-side comparisons for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. "We can see that the PS5 Pro is close to doubling the power of the PlayStation 5," Cerny continues as dual-screened Ratchet causes some mayhem.
At the 14 minute 45 second mark, the video zooms in on a scene from Ratchet & Clank that has a super dense parade bubbling about in the background, running on both consoles. "Distant details," like the waving🍌 NPCs or swaying flags, "are much clearer" on the PS5 Pro.
A similar shot of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 shows "noticeably higher resolution" in the game's bustli🥀ng city running on PS5 Pro, while comparing it to footage from a regular ol' launch PS5.
That's just a taste of what's going to change on the upgraded PlayStation, as Sony also announced that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:ovꦦer 40 other games would get aꦰ PS5 Pro update come launch, including God of War: Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7, Horizon: Forbidden West, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Demon's Souls, and Hogwarts Legacy. ]]>Appearing on the Friends Per Second podcast, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier discussed the recent Bungie layoffs and expressed his personal concerns around the studio's next project, extraction shooter 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Marathon, as well as the fact that "the sentiment I've heard is not great around it." From there, the topic turned to Sony's live service push, which saw the company announce that it had 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:a dozen such projects in the works.
That's a strategy that Schreier denounced as "trend-chasing to the extreme," decrying the "very, very long" list of games that were "pivots from single-player studios [...] that turned out to be debacles." Faced with the suggestion that Sony was hedging its bets in an attempt to find the next smash hit that could help sustain it for years to come, however, Schreier said that would be a prohibitively expensive strategy, pointing to last year's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:cancelation of The Last of Us Online.
"Naughty Dog's Factions game was in development for something like four years, with a team in the hundreds" Schreier says, referring to the game by the name of its predecessor's multiplayer mode. "That is an expensive proposition for something that was a miss. And that project, that getting canceled🌼 was not a bloodless endeavour. There were some heads rolling at Sony as a result of that one."
Whose heads those were isn't clear, and nor is their current location, but the term 'heads will roll' no🐠rmally means that some serious punishment was handed down. It sounds as though that happened at Sony rather than Naughty Dog, especially since the studio said that it made the decision to cancel the game to avoid becoming a live service studio beholden to that project's continuing upkeep ℱrather than the single-player games it's best known for.
For Schreier, that was the right decision - "I'm glad that Naughty Dog was able to stave that off and cancel that project," he says - but that fate has already befallen several other studios, sometimes with disastrous results. Batman: Arkham studio Rocksteady pivoted to the flop that was Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Anthem was a notable low point for BioWare, and Arkane Austin was shuttered following 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Redfall's failure. Maybe Naught🍌y Dog had seen enough of the writing o𒐪n the wall to know what was best for it.
]]>This comes from reliable industry leaker billbil-kun (thanks, ),🎐 who reports for that The Last of Us 2 Remastered's 💫PC port has been in development since "at least 2021."
"Furthermore, and this is the most 🃏important information in this article, we believe that the development of the game is well finished, and this dates back to at least November 2023," reads Google Translated version of the French report.
The Last of Us 2 Remastered released exclusively on PS5 back in January with some visual improvements like native 4K resolution in Fidelity mode, better load times, and a new roguelike m🍸ode called No Return that one of the developers sa🐓id is "not recommended for weak hearts."
A PC port of The Last of Us 2 Remastered hasn't been officially confirmed, and the original version of the 2020 sequel has yet to make its way over to PC either. The Last of Us Part 1, a remake of the 2013 survival horror classic that spawned the whole series, launched on PC in 2023 but was widely criticized 🍰for all sorts of glaring tec❀hnical issues.
With 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Summer Game Fest 2024 on the near horizon, there's a good chance we'll see months of rumors, not to mention this new report, finally culmin♚ate in an announcement from Naughty Dog and Sony, and if that does happen, this report indicates its release could happen shortly thereafter.
In the meantime, here's everything we know about 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us Season 2 on HBO.
]]>In a new interview with the , the Naughty Dog president touches on the future of the studio. "I promise you, we 𝔍will not be 'The Last of Us' studio forever," Druckmann says, which is a slightly odd statement, considering there have been two Last of Us titles and five Uncharted games from Naughty Dog over the years. Then again, the former series has been far more prominent than the latter over the last decade or so.
Additionally, the LA Times reported that "numerous" games are in the works right now at Naughty Dog, including "multiple single-player projects." Naughty Dog recently announced that it had canceled the in-development Last of Us multiplayer spin-off, a successor to the beloved Factions online mode from the original game, and Destiny developer reported🦩ly "raised questions" about the long-term fun of the project.
Late last year in 2023, Naughty Dog ann🌠ounced it had multiple single-player g🐈ames in the works. This was actually alongside the announcement of the multiplayer cancelation, which ꦆwas probably an attempt to reassure Naughty Dog fans about the studio's future.
This new information from Druckmann will probably have The Last of Us fans feeling a little divided. Druckmann has teased information about a third game in the series numerous times over the last few years, including revealing that The 𒆙Last of Us 3's potential plot had been outlined, so although one of t✃he new single-player projects could be The Last of Us 3, there's also clearly a desire from Druckmann to move away fro𒆙m the series eventually.
Naughty Dog was a no-show at the recent 澳洲幸运5开奖号码🗹历史查询:PlayStation State of Play for May 2024 last week, indicating that whatever projects the developer does have in the works, they🎉 could well be a💮 good few years away from launching.
