Right now, this timeline only appears to be visible on the Japanese , so it has to be machine-translated to view it in English, bu꧂t it🧸's seriously detailed. For each chunk of lore, the most relevant games are listed, so anyone who wants to attempt a chronological play order can do so, although some games appear multiple times at wildly different points in the timeline because of how they tie into various events, so don't expect this to work entirely smoothly.
While not every game ha꧃s been included here, there's one very surpri🥀sing inclusion – the party game Sonic Shuffle. It might look like a Mario Party-like board game spin-off (and, uh, it is), but Sonic still helps save a mysterious dream world called Maginaryworld, so into the timeline it goes. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN SONIC SHUFFLE IS CANON?" one baffled fan on Reddit .
Otherwise, lore heads have pointed out that the two PSP Sonic Rivals games are absent, which, as , "are pretty important as they reintroduce Silver, retcon Eggman Nega's origins and officially bring back Metal Sonic," not to mention the fact that there's a reference to Rivals 2 in last year's Sonic x 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Shadow Generations (in Gerald Robotnik's journal). There might be a simple explanation for this, t👍h🌟ough, as the two Rivals games were never released in Japan, and this is a Japanese website, so Sega might not want to make references to games its intended audience has most likely never played.
Needless to say, the timeline doesn't provide absolutely perfect answers for how every game fi▨ts into the full story, but it's still really cool that we have an official resource to refer to for a lot of🎀 the series. Clearly though, some of us need to catch up with that all-important Sonic Shuffle lore.

]]>And yes, of course that means we'll finally get an answer to whether Sonic can outrun the Flash (though I suspect it'll be an outcome that flatters them both somehow). But that's 🐽not all, as writer Ian Flynn and artist Adam Bryce Thomas will go on to pit the Justice League, Sonic, and the hedgehog's friends agai🐲nst Darkseid as he apparently gains the power of the notorious Chaos Emeralds.
Perhapꦇs it's that chaos that will lead to the mash-up between the heroes becoming literal, as Sonic is mashed-up with🌜 Flash, Shadow becomes Batman, Tails becomes Cyborg, Silver becomes Green Lantern, Amy becomes Wonder Woman, and Knuckles becomes Superman.
Here's a look at the interior pages from DC X Sonic the Hedgehog #1, along with the main cover Pablo M. Collar and a variant cover by Ethan Yo💟ung, asဣ well as the main covers for #2, #3, and #4:
"DC x Sonic the Hedgehog…features an unprecedented crossover event where the Justice League and Team Sonic must unite to save their worlds from a major threat," reads the official description of the story. "The action speeds up when the monstrou♑s Darkseid crosses dimensio🐻ns to invade the world of Sonic the Hedgehog, seeking the ultimate power. Sonic and his friends have faced everything from mad scientists to ancient spirits, but the forces of Apokolips may be too much for them! Thankfully, the full heroic might of the Justice League arrives to back them up!"
DC x Sonic the Hedgehog #1 goes on sale March 19.

]]>There's a lot of "potentially" and "might" here because this new tool, called , simply gives fan developers a path to creating PC versions of Xbox 360 games. As the GitHub page explains, it "converts Xbox 360 executables into C++ code, which can then be recompiled for any platform." It's not magic - you can't simply drag a 360 .iso file in and get a perfectly functional PC port - but it could make things much easier for fan🥂 developers to create their own ports.
XenonRecomp was heavily inspired by N64: Recompiled, which effectively does the same thing for Nin🥂tendo 64 games. The asterisk here is that N64: Recompiled has been out for nearly a full year and there are so far only a small handful of N64-to-PC ports that have happened as a result, and we might be in for a similarly long wait for Xbox 360 ports to take off depending on🍷 the interests of hobbyist developers.
For now, at least, there's , a PC pꦡort of Sonic Unleashed made using XenonRecomp. It has all the features you could hope for from a proper PC release, including much higher native resolutions, ultrawide support, and the ability to unlock your frame rate. Unleashed has always been among the more divisive 3D Sonic games, but if you're looking to play it in 2025 this seems to be the definitive way t𒉰o do so.
Emulation tends to be the most far-reaching way of making old games playable on modern devices, but Xbox 360 emulation has never quite reached an ideal state. Unofficial 360 emulator Xenia only plays a fraction of the console's library, and e𒁃ven Microsoft's official emulator on modern Xbox consoles, while broadly excellent, has a relatively small whitelist of compatible games.
Many Xbox ꦐ360 games either received thei♌r own official PC ports back in the day or came to PS3, which has a far more robust fanmade emulation option in RPCS3, so very few of these games are genuinely lost to modern hardware. But the possibilities of new native PC ports are nonetheless exciting, as they can offer more robust performance improvements and gameplay tweaks than emulation.
These are the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Sonic games of all time.
]]>It's a very original observation, certainly not a tired one people have been making since the mid-90s when Sonic Drift first released on the Sega Game Gear. It's also one that has an answer so obvious it's essentially canon for whenever Sonic uses another mode of transportation. I'll put this as simply as I can: it's so the races remain fair on an even playing field.
Sonic can be an arrogant character, sure. And he does love to, nay, has gotta go fast. But he's not so mean-spirited as to laud his speed needlessly. In fact, he enjoys competition. Have y♎ou seen how much fun he's having on the covers of the racing games? He's grinning, having a whale of a time. This is just another exciting activity for him, and he genuinely enjoys taking part in the events acros✨s Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
In fact, it's even been addressed before in the likes of comics. In the official💛ly licensed, 🌠no longer printed, Archie-published run, a humorous 'off panel' strip nods to this being "because then it's fair". The comic was even written by Ian Flynn, the wr𒐪iter of recent games Sonic X Shadow Generatio💮ns and Sonic Frontiers.
Likewise, in Sonic Riders, which focused on hoverboard 'extreme gear' races, Sonic is irked by Jet The Hawk (who returns here in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds alongside the boards) specifically being able to outspeed him while they're both boarding. Though Sonic could doubtless outrun Jet The Hawk on foot while the latter stayed boarding, it simply wouldn't be enough – he wants to prove he can still be the fastest even within the context of those rules. You can't best your pal at Tekken 8 by saying you're actually really good at 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Street Fighter 6. It just wouldn't make sense.
Sonic Riders is helped along, of course, by a plot that revolves around Eggman orchestrating an extreme gear tournament. Sonic and friends simply have to use the boards to compete, just like how the rules of the racing in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds doubtless specify use of the transforming vehicles. If that's not enough, both Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and Sonic &🀅 All-Star Racing Transformed feature both air and sea sections of track. Sonic can't fly or swim. Do you want Sonic The Hedgehog to die?
Sonic has raced on-foot before. The underrated Sonic R (which I'll note had far fewer technical issues on PC than on Sega Saturn) may be maligned by some, but it has all racers bar Amy and Eggman spinning their legs, and is technically the first fully 3D Sonicᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ game ever. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Sonic The Hedgehog 3, of course, feature split-screen multiplayer races. Sonic Rivals and Sonic Rivals 2 on PSP are entirely based around two-dimensional races. Simply put – Sonic covets speed in all its forms, even though his penchant is for his default sprinting, and is always up for some fair a🐠nd friendly competition. No, I cannot explain why Sonic doesn't always win foot races in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Leave me alone!
Looking for more righteous Sonic takes? Here's why Shadow the Hedgehog is peak Sonic, he's always been peak Sonic, and after 23 years I can't bury the truth any longer
]]>In the full announcement trailer, which you can view just below, we can see a roster of classic Sonic the Hedgehog characters zooming around various stages༒ in cars, off-road buggies, hoverboards, and watercrafts, which seem to be able to adapt to different environments and surfaces.
You can also see racers zip through portals leading them to completely different worlds, which suddenly makes the whole CrossWorlds title make a whole lot of sensꦛe. PlayStation explains in a that the "Travel Rings" are chosen by the lead racer before each match and force every player to be transported to a different level in the second lap of the race.
This isn't the first time we've seen Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, but it is by far our most comprehensive look yet, and it's also the first new trailer since the subtle reveal of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart 9, CrossWorlds' biggest and most direc🎶t competitor.
Neither Mario Kart 9 nor Sonic Racing CrossWorlds have release dates yet, but the latter is getting a closed network test on February ꧑21. You can sign up for that , right now if you want to🔥 try out the game before launch.
Only time will tell whether Sonic Racing CrossWorlds has the chops to take on Mario Kart in our list of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best racing games to play today.
]]>The former long-time Dragon Age executive produc𝐆er revealed the interesting൩ tidbit in a , calling 2008's Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood his "favorite" project to work on because there was something "magical about leading a team as small as this game was - it never got much above 20 people."
Sonic Chronicle🐻s: The Dark Brotherhood "actually uses Dragon Age: Origins' dialogue system," Darrah said. "Heavily streamlined to fit on the Nintendo DS, but it's still at its base the same code stack. I guess if you really wanted to try, you could make the argument that, because Sonic Chronicles shipped in 2008 and Dragon Age: Origins didn't ship until 2009, that Dragon Age: Origins actually shipped using the Sonic Chronicles dialogue system."
The Sonic RPG team eventually moved on🦂 🎉to the cancelled Mass Effect DS game that was planned to have you pirating across the fringes of the galaxy in first person. The spin-off was scrapped due to the economics of shipping games on the Nintendo DS, though.
BioWare now doesn't have the bandwidth for any quirky projects like Sonic Chronicles, though. The entire studio now reportedly employs around 100 people after 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:EA cut even more roles from 🦋the team. The publisher blamed the layoffs on Dragon A📖ge: The Veilguard's performance, but one wonders how much more "agile" a team can get.
]]>At the Sac Gamers Expo 2024 during a December 15 panel with David Humphrey (the voice of Shadow) and Ryan Drummond (the voice෴ of Sonic) celebrating the anniversary of Sonic Heroes, Dreier says the hardest line he ever had to say was "💖Shift, rock, yeah!"
If you played Sonic Heroes as a kꦿid or have revisited in your adult years and ever thought that "shift" sounded a lot like a swear word, that's the point. No one tell my mum, I played that game when I was eight.
"That was the hardest line for me, because back in the day they did not want us 🐭to swear, we weren't allowed to swear," Dreier remembers. "That day in particular everyone was in the booth and they had me on mute. I could see the entire Japanese team having this conversation and thinking, 'am I doing something wrong? Am I being let go?' Finally, the interpreter speaks up and says, 'would you feel comfortable making that F of shift as soft as you can. We want it to be shift, but we want people to wonder if you&🐻apos;re swearing.'"
So, if you remember hearing it as s**t, that was entirely intentional but done in a way that Sega could still get away with not technically swearing in a kids game. So, Shadow wasn't the first one to swear in a Sonic game, it was actually Knuckles. To be honest, here in the 🐻UK most of us wouldn't even consider "damn" or "crap" sw෴ear words, but maybe we're all just potty mouths.
The actually comes from the Blue Blur himself. In the original Japanese dub of SonicX episode two, he says "s**t" when he and Cream are evading some secu𒆙rity lasers.
🔯In the reuinion video, it's amazing seeing Dreier and the other voice actors switch into Knuckles, Sonic, and Shadow, they're incredibly talented. Even so, it wasn't easy for Dreie👍r.
🐻"It was the hardest line for me to say because it's really hard to give that performance, that 'yeah!' but also to make that F super silent and it took us about an hour," Dreier continues. I can picture it now, Dreier saying the line and then the interpreter asking for it even softer or just a touch louder.
The hard work paid off, because Dreier adds, "I will never forget when I got it right, that entire room erupting and laughing and giggling and thinking that they were going to be putting in this little Easter egg. It's so naughty, but no💮w no one would give it a second thought."
It clearly ꦆworked, as people have been wondering about it online for years. "My favorite thing is now when people come up t🃏o me today and say, 'you have to tell me is it shift rock yeah or s**t rock yeah?' my answer is always, 'yes.' It's very tiny but it's there."

Sega is the latest publisher to consider joining the already-saturated market as the company's president Shuji Utsumi told the he found such services "ve🐼ry interesting" and was "evalu𝓀ating some opportunities" in the space. "We're thinking something - and discussing something - we cannot disclose right now," he said.
Sonic might be the company's golden jewel - especially with S𒁃onic The Hedgehog 3, theꦐ film's, glowing reception and the recent Sonic X Shadow Generations remaster - but Sega has built up a hugely impressive line up away from its Blue Blur that it could dump on any kind of Game Pass competitor: Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Yakuza, Total War, Football Manag🉐er, and recent game of the year nominee Metaphor: Refantazio included.
But Sega might just run into the same trouble thaꦑt most Hollywood companies did when following Netflix's footsteps. At a certain point, the business model becomes too saturated since people likely aren't going to want to pay six different monthly subscriptions to play games.
Regardless, Utsumi is focused on making the company "really shine again" by using all those heavyweight names listed above. "🌺Sega has a great RPG group, Sega has amazing IPs, Sega is a really well-known brand."
For now, get the rundown on Sonic The Hedgehog 3’s biggest cameos as two iconic video game characters appear - just not as you expect them.
]]>With my favorite edgy boy, Shadow, about to take center stage, I'm getting in the mood for his movie debut by playing 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic games like the Sonic X Shadow Generations on my PS5. Should you want to live and learn and follow my example, Sonic X Shadow Generations and a whole host of Sonic titles are available from as low as right now thanks to the site's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:PS5 game deals in time for the holiday season.
Releases like Sonic Frontiers and Sonic Superstars have been out for a while, so🗹 their super low price points of $19.99 aren't that surprising. PS5 games see significant discounts all the time, especially when it comes to older physical releases. However, Sonic X Shadow Generations only launched in October 2024 so its $20 savings is a welcome sight to behold. Especially as th🦄e game features a standalone Shadow the Hedgehog movie tie-in campaign - perfect to get you in the mood for all Sonic 3 has to offer over the holiday break.

]]>One of the challenges that Sonic Team faced was creating a 3D look for the stages from classic 2D games that fans would find acceptable. “It was important to respect and pay tribute to the original beauty a꧑nd fun gameplay elements of each stage we included, and it was equally important to preserve the design motifs of the Classic levels (chequered patterns in Green Hill, blue pipe routes in Chemical Plant, etc) when modernising the textures and graphics, so the worlds all felt correct in the 3D space,” Iizuka recalls. “There was a lot of trial and error as we explored how to do this before deciding on the final look, but once we secured the 3D design language and look of Green Hill, the rest of the stage designs all sort of fell into place.”
Iizuka also talked to us about Sonic X Shadow Generations, a remaster that updates the original game and adds plenty of Shadow-related content. “Different stages let Shadow sho🦄w off his new abilities like surfing on water, gliding and completely transforming to move across different terrain,” Iizuka says, before explaining their role in the game’s new White Space hub world. “The White Space in Sonic Generations was a fun 2D platforming hub world, and we wanted to do even more for the Shadow Generations White Space, so we used elements from the Sonic Frontiers’ Open-Zone design to create a 3D White Space. One of the reasons why we went in this 3D platforming direction was to enable Shadow to use all his Doom Powers in the White Space and really push players to run around and explore the hub world.”
Outside of exclusive Sonic Generations coverage, issue 265 of Retro Gamer also includes a look at the games of Factor 5, the making of Tinhead, Project Eden and Riven, the excellent sequel to Myst and Ultimate Guides on the arcade hit Rastan and the underwater 🔯shmup X-Out, which receives a remaster in the new year. ]]>Appropriately titled Sonic x Shadow: Generations x Chao, the manga will be written by longtime Sonic com🎶ic writer Ian Flynn, with art from Miisa Shion and colors by Min Ho Kim.
Details about the new manga are a little sparse at the moment, with Sega's official announcement giving almost nothing away – including where fans will be able to read it. The annou🅷ncement simply reads: "While Sonic and Shadow go through their journey in SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS...what are the Chao up to? Join the Sonic Chao and Shadow Chao on a special journey by @IanFlynnBKC!"
This is far from the first Sonic-related manga or comic. Indeed, there have been Sonic comics for as long as there has been games, with the first being published in Japanese magazine Mega Drive Fan in June 1991 – the same month that the original game came out on the Sega Mega Drive in the US. The following year another Sonic manga was serialized in Shogakukan's Study Magazine. That series, written by Kenji Terada who also wrote the first three 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Final Fantasy games, did a lot to fill out Sonic's backstory. ]]>Sony has attempted to convince everyone that a $700 upgrade - not including the add-on disc drive - is worth the extra horsepower with several 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:zoꦿomed-in, side-by-side comparisons of games running on both the PS5 Pro and base PS5. Gr⛄aphics have gotten to the point where most people won't be able to distinguish the difference while looking at compressed footage online, but hearing that t💦he high-end machine might give us "games that can express the speed of Sonic?" Well, that's all they ever had to say.
Speaking to , Sonic Team producer Takashi Iizuka admitted that $700 is generally "really expensive" but reckons it might be 🌱worth it for "high-end users" willing to drop the cash. "The price isn't something we feel it's appropriate for us toꦆ comment on, but in terms of the capabilities, we think that it's definitely worthy of the Pro name. So we're excited to see what it can do," Iizuka said.
Sonic Team isn't currently working to give any of the Sonic the Hedgehog games a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:PS5 Pro enhancement - or, at least, it hasn't made any such announcement - though Iizuka is still excited to see what's possible with the "high-end machines" in the future. "Coming out with those consoles, we feel that we can make newer Sonic games that can express the speed of Sonic and with much better gaming UI as well," Iizuka notes, although he's still committed to the 𒈔people playing on 🐭older hardware like the PS4 or Switch.

]]>At Gamescom 2024, I had the chance to sit down with Sonic creative officer Iizuka – as well as Sonic x Shadow Generations game director Katsuyuki Shigihara and producer Shun Nakamura –ꦇ to talk about all things Shadow, as well as Sega's upcoming high-speed platform game. Via interpreter, Iizuka tells me Shadow is his favorite Sonic character, largely because of his "tragic backstory" which makes him "interesting and compelling," but I was curious to find out if, as his creator, he felt fans have interpreted Shadow in a different way over the years than how he originally expected or intended. The answer▨? A resounding 'yes.'
"So yes, there are some ways that people interpret Shadow that are not how the team is intending," Iizuka begins (via translator). "I think the biggest one, if you look online, everyone's like, 'Oh, this is 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Dragon Ball Vegeta.'"
As far as Iizuka is concerned, Shadow is "not Vegeta in any way." He explains: "Vegeta rea🌠lly starts out as an enemy and then later becomes a friend and an ally and kind of, like, fights for justice and trying to save the world and whatnot. Shadow is not like that. I never want him to be like that. Shadow is doing his own thing, he's not 🦹friends with Sonic, and he's gonna go off and, you know, do whatever he feels is correct or right, or what he needs to do. And it's not like, 'Well, okay, we used to be enemies, but we're friends now. Let's save the world.' He's not that kind of character, and [I don't] want him to be that kind of character.
"So when people are always online sayi🍎ng, 'Oh, it's Vegeta, it's Vegeta,' i♍t's like, it's not Vegeta," he laughs.
Perhaps Sonic X Shadow Generations and the upcoming 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:third Sonic the Hedgehog movie might be able to set this record straight for good, but for the time being, just know that the Sonic team definitely doesn't see Shadow as a Vegeta counterpart.

]]>Bobo Bay is an upcoming indie game that'🌞s taking inspiration from Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2&a𒁃pos;s Chao Garden modes - pronounced like ciao, not chaos - that forced our hedgehog to slow down for once and nurture adorable little creatures called chao. Babo Bay is instead stripping out the lightspeed platforming sections to focus and expand on the the pet-simulation that fans have been wanting to see return since 2001.
"I'm making the Chao Garden game that I've always wanted to play," the ♓game's mostly-solo developer NewFutureKids explains in the first developer vlog seen below. "People have been wanting a game like this for years, so I knew my job was to take that formula that worked and expand upon it, rather than completely change it. I also couldn't forget that this game needs to appeal to people who have never even pl🦋ayed or heard of Chao Garden before."
Everything else about Babo Bay's first vlog had me internally screaming 'yes, perfect!' every two minutes. There are apparently "millions" of possible babo combinations this time around as patterns, colors, adult forms, and m♉ore can affect how your babo looks. Other core chao elements are being improved too, as NewFutureKids shouts out "cute designs for the creatures, tons of customization possibilities, breeding, stat progression with depth, races and fighting" as areas that they're focusing on. Oh, and you can still chuck the tiny critters across the place. Perfect!
♏Since Sonic and his speedy escapades aren't here - because, "erm, Sega isn't gonna let that happen" - NewFutureKids is expanding on the more wholesome simulation elements instead. Babo Bay introduces an in-game calendar, "like Stardew Valley but without the stress," with new competitions, events, and seasons opening up as time goes on. I can't say I miss t🗹he Blue Blur much - or at all - since his replacement is literally a zombie with a skeleton arm called Miss Parfait Bags. Perfect! "Actually, everyone in the world is a zombie too," the video explains without elaborating.
"You are able to feed your Bobo an old shoe which is kinda funny," the Steam blurb reveals, which is also, as you miღght have guessed, perfect for this kind of game.
Babo Baඣy is due to come out sometime in 2025, though a demo coming in the next few months should tide us over until then, while a public alpha test goes live tomorrow, July 18. You can also get a taste of the Chao Garden in Sonic Adventure 2, which is still available on Steam and Xbox Series X|S.
In the meantime, check out some other exciting upcoming indie games from 2024 and beyond.

Based on the ‘90s video game franchise Sonic the Hedgehog by Sega, the live-action adaptation that brings the beloved coin-collecting hedgehog to life has proven to be popular with OG and n🌞ew f💦ans alike – who are more than pleased to see Schwartz returning for number 3. "Let's go Ben! Kill it once again!" , while : "Never thought Ben Schwartz would be my favorite English-speaking Sonic of all time but here we are."
In 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the first movie, Sonic is discovered by an evil scient🍎ist known as Eggman who plans to use the hedgehog’s superpowers for his selfish needs. After escaping the scientist, Sonic returned for the sequel where he and his sidekick Tails faced up to 🌌Eggman and new opponent Knuckles.
Plot details for the threequel are under wraps, but if the ending of Sonic 2 is anything to go by, we may have an idea of who Sonic’s next antagonist may be. During the end credits scene, a major game character named Shadow, a darker Hedgehog who resembles Sonic and serves as his arch-rival and occasional ally, makes an appearance. Shadow’s shoes also appear in the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:first look for Sonic 3.
As well as Schwartz’s Sonic, other characters will be returning such as 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Jim Carrey as the vi༒llainous Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Eggman), Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Tails, Idris Elba as Knuckles, James Marsden as Tom, Tika Sumpter as Maddie, Natasha Rothwell as Rachel, and Shemar Moore as Randall. ]]>Sonic Frontiers launched late last year, and i🐓f you've already zoomed your way around the Starfall Islands and done everything there is to do there, then fear ♛not, as new content is only a few days away.
As reported by , Sega has announced that Sonic Frontiers' first DLC, titled "Sights, Sounds and Speed", 🃏will be released on Thursday, March 23. This is the first of three content updates planned for Sonic Frontiers, all of which will be available for free.
In an email sent to players, Sega says that the update offers new "features and modes," but it didn't go into detail about exactly what these are. However, a look at the released back in November 2022 sho🥀ws DLC Update 1 includes a jukeboওx, a photo mode, and new challenge modes seemingly tied to the game's Cyber Space levels, so it's safe to assume that these are the extra bits being added later this week.
Looking to the future, Update 2 will have content related to Sonic's birthday as well as an "open zone challenge" and new Koco, the adorable stone-like creatures Sonic encounters on the islands. Update 3 is set to be a big one with new playable characters and additional story content. Naturally, the prospect of playing as characters other tꦿhan Sonic has fans more than a little excited. So far, there are no det꧂ailܫs on when either of these DLCs will be released.
Earlier this year, in a Q&A with investors, Sega revealed that sales of Sonic Frontiers have "greatly exceeded" the company's original estimates and said it's committed to givi✅ng Sonic Team a bigger budget for fut🦹ure titles. Given the popularity of Sonic Frontiers, we could see other entries in the series adopt its open world approach. That being said, Sega seemingly doesn't plan on abandoning the classic 2D formula anytime soon either, as Sonic Frontiers' director Morio Kishimoto recently teased that we should "look forward" to more side-sღcrolling Sonic games.

"We expect development costs for newಌ titles to grow even larger in the future," Sega says. "We will strive to ensure solid quality in the development of major titles from our existing franchises. However, development labour costs will rise due to the impact of the global external environment, and we expect this trend to continue for the foreseeable future."
It add✤ed, "Since it is necessary to take on these challenges for major titles, we are proceeding with a bigger budget, even from the basic research stage. Therefore, we assume that development costs for future new titles will increase accordingly."
Naturally, Sonic's solid band of supporters took to Twitter to celebrate. One wrote, "The small team that worked on Frontiers is amazing enough!! I can't wait to see what they accomplish with a bigger team and budget." Another said, "This is actually really amazing and I'm excited to s💞ee wha🍬t Sonic team will cook," while a third added, "It's what he deserves".
Given that Sonic Frontiers has been hugely successful - it's now sold close to 3 million worldwide - a full-blown sequel is a strong possibility. That being said, the game's director Morio Kishimoto also recently teased that we should "look forward"꧂ to more side-scrolling Sonic games. 🍌Whatever comes next, it's certainly looking like a great time to be a S♋onic fan.

]]>In a tweet – written in Japanese, so there's a chance Google Translate hasn't quite got the details right; consequently, please take this as hopeful speculati🐓on for now, just in case it's wrong – Kishimoto responded to a fan of the old-school Sonic 4 and told them to "please look forward to them".
After explaining that Sonic 4 was "made by Dimps", Kishimoto added: "In addition to 3D Sonic games, Sonic games also have side-scrolling Sonic ga𓄧mes, so please look forward to them!"
Given you can't look "forward" to something that's already happened - not technically, anyways - some fans have interpreted this as meaning that there may be ♎more 2D side-scrolling Sonic games on the way. Watch this space, I guess (thanks, ).
Kishimoto also recently confirmed that Sonic Frontiers 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:"still has a long way to go", whilst Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka thinks the open-world template set for Sonic Frontiers will be the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:"cornerstone of future Sonic games", stating that its' "brand-new approach" "marks anoﷺther defining moment for the franch💮ise".
"Our goal with Sonic Frontiers was to evolve the linear, stage-clearing 3D action that began with Sonic Adventure in 1998 into a new action🅘-packed adventure game✤ where players have the freedom to explore the environment around them," Iizuka said a little while back.
Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka has revealed that while he thinks 2022 was "the biggest year in Sonic history", there&apos⛎;s "a lot more" still to come for Sonic fans to enjoy, too.
"Thi𝓰s past year was the biggest year in Sonic history, including the release of the movie sequel, new titles Sonic Origins and Sonic Frontiers, and the Netflix animation Sonic Prime," Iizuka said.
"We are preparing a second wave to keep the fans happy and maintain that momentum going into 2023. We alrea🍨dy announced additional content for Sonic Frontiers, but there is a lot more outside of that, so please look forward to it."

]]>Naoto Ohshima, known for designing Sonic the Hedgehog and Dr. Eggman for Sega's iconic franchise, shared the news via their Twitter account along with some early concept art of the cha𝕴racter. "I made a game draft. An action g🍃ame about twins defending the dream world from Thirteen, the boss of the Nightmare World. It evolved into Sonic," the tweet reads.
I made a draft of the game. An action game about twi♔n brothers who protect the dream world from Nightmare World's boss "Thirteen". It evolved into Sonic.私はゲーム原案書を作った。 ナイトメア世界のボス「サーティーン」から夢の世界を守る双子のアクションゲーム。 ソニックに進化した pic.twitter.com/nJECKnsI4w
The concept art features hints at what would eventually become Green Hill Zone as well as some menacing-looking characters and two kids with a blue and red color scheme. The two boys, described as twins in the tweet, both have spiky hair - one blue and one red - and matching blue/red ꦐshirts with a gold star in the middle of them. The twins are adorable and probably would have been just as fun to play as Sonic, but it's clear Ohshima mad🎃e the right choice by developing the design into one spiky character.
Ohshima has revealed even more about the scrapped concept in the replies to the tweet. According to the director, a lot changed when Sega decided to turn the 'Twin Stars' project into Sonic the Hedgehog, however, some elements remained. This included the smooth terrain for players to run on and the loops, which we can see in that scrapped concept art. The idea of a playable character that would get around by curlin🥂g up into a ball and zooming around apparently didn't come until Sonic was officially born though.

]]>The five sets will reportedly range in size from 292 to 802 parts and will retail from around $30 to $100. It's thought ꦺthey'll be available in the first wave in August 2023, although the precise release dates and designs have yet to be confirmed.
As leaked ahead of time by Lಞego site (thanks, ), the five new kits - codenamed "Lemon" at the time - will feature different levels from the iconic game that may combine with the existing Green Hi🎶ll Zone set. Unlike the Mario sets, it's thought they retail with the collectible minifigs included, too.
"🌄Another special feature of the LEGO Sonic 2023 novelties should be a kind of launching device, which is included in every set," the site teases (translated via Google Translate).
"With this, the Sonic minifigure, which you have to put in a ball,🔴 can be shot through the corresponding ♉level. What exactly the sets will look like and which minifigures will be included is not yet known."
It's not the first time sonic has been immortalized in Lego, of course. This time last year, Lego announced a brand-new set based upon the iconic Green Hill Zone from 1991's Sonic the Hedgehog.
Conceived by "superfan" Viv Grannell – who submitted their idea through the Lꦛego Ideas platform and received 10,000 votes from other fans to propel their dream into reality – this new "analog version of the Green Hill Zone gives fans the chance to build and display a piece of gaming history".
Did you see Lego's festive take on the iconic Home Alone movie? It's been a long time coming, but the Home Alone set is finally here, and we&a꧑pos;ve reviewed it so - unlike the Wet Bandits - you&𝐆apos;ll know exactly what you're getting into before you take on Kevin McCallister and the iconic McCallister home.
"If you love Lego and Home Alone, it's hard to fault this product," 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:we wrote in our review, which awarded the kit an impressive 4.5 🤪stars out of 5 for its numerous Home Alone𒁏 references, dollhouse functionality, and brilliant booby traps.

]]>Sonic Frontiers propels the Blue Blur in a bold new direction, mixing the series' staple elements like platforming and ring collecting, with an open world filled with puzzles to solve and colossal enemies to take down. While many enjoy having the freedom to zoom around a larger world, the game isn't without its flaws. Since launch, players have been experiencing game crashes and𓄧 other issues, including a boss with a tendency to vanish into thin air during battle. Thankfully, Sega has released a new patch aimed at squashing these pesky bugs.
As shared on﷽ the (thanks, ), patch 1.10 fixes "an issue where when retrying a boss fight on Kronos Island, the boss sometimes disappeared." Additionally, the update reಌsolves an issue where an activity on Chaos Island would still be marked as incomplete on the map screen after you'd finished it.
According to the tweet, patch 1.10 is available to download now for PS4 and PS5 players and will be rolled 𝔍out on other platforms "in the near future."

As well as the aforementioned fix♏es, the patch notes reveal that developer Team Sonic has "fixed random crashing bugs" and "addressed audio related issues." It's also introduced "UI improvements," "gameplay optimizations", and "stability and performance improvements", as well as implemented some unspecified "minor fixes."
Elsewhere, we could see future Sonic titles adopt Sonic Frontiers' style of open zone platforming. In a recent interview, Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka said the game's open world 澳洲幸运5开ඣ奖号码历史查询:sets a "brand-new 💟approach for the franchise."

"Our goal with Sonic Frontiers was to evolve the linear, stage-clearing 3D action that began with Sonic Adventure in 1998🦋 into a new action-packed adventure game where players have the freedom to explore the environment around them," Iizuka said.
"We know many players love ex🦂ploring expansive worlds with no predetermined path and that’s what we set out to achieve with our new open-zone platforming concept. I am very excited for Sonic to join this revolutionary step in immersive gaming worlds.
"Bringing Sonic fully into the 3D world with Sonic Adventure was one of the most𒊎 challenging yet rewarding moments," Iizuka added. "I truly believe 2022 marks another defining moment for the franchise as we move into open zone platforming gameplay with Sonic Frontiers. I feel incredibly privileged to work on such a well-loved franchise."
However, just because Sonic is looking ahead doesn&apos꧙;t mean the team isn't respectful of its past.
"Just like Sonic Adventure, our goal for Sonic Frontiers 𓆉was to create a game that would be the cornerstone of future Sonic games," Iizuka concluded. "It is a brand-new approach for the franchise, but we have been conscious to honor Sonic’s roots as well - the game still needs to feel like a Sonic game.🌠"

It's a candid response, not least because Sonic Frontiers hasn't been universally well-received. We awarded the game 2 stars out of 5 in the GamesRadar+ 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic Frontiers review, saying: "Sonic Frontiers takes an all-too-ambitious approach to reimaging the 'hog in an open world setting. The result is a Sonic who is far too sluggish to control across a wide range of dull combat, exploration, a🀅nd platforming challenges".
"Sonic Frontiers features the kind of lightweight yet engaging storytelling that should easily enrapture fans young and old – though I'd hate to be a chil🌳d forced to play through some of the abysmal platforming featured throughout," we said. "Was taking Sonic open world an ambitious endeavor? Yes. Did it pay off? Absolutely not."

Sega has said that fans should 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:install the DLC before starting a new game - tꦍhis means prior to finishing up in the tutorial area of Sonic Frontiers. It has also said that players should ensure that they have updated the game to its most recent patch before installing the DLC.

]]>To s𒅌witch to a previously explored island, bring up the map then look at the bottom left of the screen for the ‘Switch maps’ button prompt. Press the button shown and then choose the island you wan𓃲t to go to. Done.
Alternatively, to Fast Travel on the island you’re currently on, open the map and push the right bumper to change the map display to ‘Fast travel’. This will show you Elder Koco or Hermit Koco, provided you’ve added them to the map and have their corresponding scroll. Simply highlight the special Koco to whom you wish to t💃ravel then push the displayed button to zap right there. Don’t have the Elder Koco scroll or Hermit Koco scroll? Then read on.
Sonic Frontiers Fast Travel can be unlocked pretty quickly, 🃏but there are a few steps you need to complete first. These are:
First off, collect purple coins whenever you see them. They can usually be found on the stone ruins that are dotted about the landscape, often up high, which require some clever use of Sonic’s double jump ability (and a lot of patience as the game isn’t particularly well-suited to precision platforming). Collect at least 10 to give yourself a good chance of unlocking Fast Travel. Th🐟e more you have before you go fishing, the easier it will be.
Each main island has a fishing spot hidden behin🐟d a Purple Portal. The first one can be found at the end of the peninsula past the purple web-like ruins (pictured – the portal is in the middle of the image and h💫as a circle at the top of it).
Unlock the portal then go and see Big, who teaches you how to fish. It’s very simple – just push the button to cast your line, then a✨gain when you get a bite, and then again whenever the white ripple overlaps the red area. There may be several of these, but to start with there’s just one.
Each go at fishing costs purple coins, the required number rising as you go through the game. It starts at one coin per cast, though, and after a few succes♎sful catches, you should land an Elder Koco scroll. Keep fishing and you should also land the Hermit Koco scroll –🎶 note that you’ll need to fish again at each new island to unlock the corresponding scrolls there. This unlocks Sonic Frontiers Fast Travel, but only if you’ve already added the corresponding Koco to your map. So keep fishing until you ideally have both scrolls, then exit the fishing spot. For now, we’ll use Elder Koco’s scroll.
You need to add Elder Koco or Hermit Koco to the map to unlock Fast Travel in Sonic ♊Frontiers. Do this by completing the mission puzzles in thꩲe area to remove the ‘fog of war’ from the map screen and show where they are located.
Mission M-023 near the waterfall (pictured above) where you have to Cyloop the white sparkles within a time limit is the first. This will reveal Elder Koco, who’s standing nearby๊. So go and speak to them, and level up while you’re thཧere.
Congratulations! You’ve found Elder Koco and have their scroll, so you can revisit them at any time.🔯 To do this, bring up the map, push the right bumper until you get to ‘Fast travel’ (it’s the first thing you’ll switch to when you’re near the start of the game), highlight Elder Koco’s icon and confirm. Boom! Gotta travel fast. Repeat the process for Elder Koco and Hermit Koco on each island and fast travel awaits.
Good thing Sonic likes jum﷽ping through hoops, eh? One final thing to mention is that extra-ওlong grind rails also appear as you clear areas of the game, allowing you to fast travel in a more conventional way between areas of the island you’re currently on. Just jump on, hit the right trigger to boost, and take in the views.

]]>The easy bit is getting started on this assignment, by following the on-screen mission marker (the white square with a metre number that decreases as you get closer) until you arrive at t༒his large cannon.
You know you’re supposed to fire it at the large black structure looming over the lake, but 🍌how? Well, first you need to load it, and not with Sonic (though that would have been cool). Look to the right of the lake from where you’re standing and you should see a smaller stℱructure with a large bullet on top of it. Yes, now it starts to make sense. Run over to this.
Once you’re there, it doesn’t seem to do anything. Ah, but it will if you perform a cyloop. This involves holding the Triangle (PlayStation) / Y (Xbox) / X (Switch) button and moving Sonic in a circle around the bullet on its pedestal. You don’t h𓆏ave to make it really big or even make the circle perfectly circular. Just join up the trail that Sonic leaves by looping round and back oveℱr your own path. The circle should flash pink like this when you’ve done it right.
Now let go of the cyloop button and the bullet should levitate and move above Sonic. A countdown timer now begins, and you can’t dash any more, so simply trot back over to the gun (the white square mission marker is still there so you can’t miss it) 💯without wasting any time, where a cut-scene should show the bullet being load💜ed into it.
Finally, before the clock runs out (you have a few seconds to aim), you need to move the crosshairs upwards and across slightly, until the centre of the crosshairs lines up with the eye icon on the large plug contraption in the air. When it d💙oes, push the fire button when prompted.
Voila! The water flows out allowing you to head down into the path that’s opened, and Sonic starts to wonder whether🤪 emptying the one oasis around in the desert was really a good thing to do. But as Knuckles points out, you’ve been able to drain the water in Sonic Frontiers and revealed the way forward so… who cares? Hurrah!
If you mess up this process for any reason, then don’t panic – just run back over to where you found the bullet. It will have respawned, allowing you to t꧂ry again as many times as you need.

]]>As revealed via the Sonic the Hedgehog , those excited to play So💫nic Frontiers as soon as it arrives might want to take a second before speeding straight into the game. As warned by Sega, if you don't, you could risk losing the DLC contents completely.
꧟Sega has said that fans should install the DLC before starting a new game - this means prior to finishing up in the tutorial area of Sonic Frontiers. It has also said that players should ensure that they have updated the game to its most recent patch before installing the DLC.
Hey everyone! Quick notes ahead of Frontiers'🃏 launch:• If you purchased the Digital Deluxe, please install the DLC before starting a new game• DLC content will not be valid if installed after the tutorial area• Ensure you ✃have the most recent patch before installing DLC
In a follow-up , the account also highlighted an Xbox-specific issue with the DLC. If you're struggling to find the digital art book (that also comes as part of the Digital Deluxe version of Sonic Frontiers) in your library, Sega has suggested that players should💦 "search for [it] and dowᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚnload it in the app section of the Xbox Store."
It should also be noted that the second bull𝓀et point in the tweet embedded above only applies to the Digital Deluxe DLC items, meaning future items, such as the Monster Hunter DLC, can be installed at any time.
Speaking of the DLC, Sonic Frontiers is offering a unique sound pack to players which enables them to replace sound effects with vtuber Inugami Korone. Instead of the usual noises you'd hear when Sonic jumps, climbs, and slides along rails, you can ins💖tead choose to hear a series of sounds from a virtual anime dog girl. Whatever floats your boat, I gu🌞ess.
If you're not quite feeling Frontiers, take a look at our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Sonic games list to find out what you should play instead.
]]>As you may have deduced, there's a lot to unpack here. Let's start with the latest Sonic Station stream, which showed off Korone's unique – extremely unique – s♛ound pack and DLC (around 30 minutes in).
That's right. Through the perilously unchecked power of virtual YouTubers, you can now play through Sonic Frontiers with an anime dog girl providing the sound effects for the Blue Blur's every jump, climb, rail grind, and more. It's onomatopoeia taken to an illogical extreme, and it's not even the end of the game's Korone DLC, which also adds collectibles styled after the mascot stan🐈d-in for the vtuber's viewers.
You may understandably be wondering why Sega has partnered with a vtuber to such an extent, and there are actually several reasons for that. Firstly, Korone's really popular; with nearly 1.9 million YouTube subscribers at the time of writing, she's in the upper echelons of the Hololive vtuber agency. Hololive's extensive list of talents also includes Gawr Gura, an English 🎃streamer and the most-subscribed vtuber in the world.
Hololive is so big, in fact, that it's spawned plenty of fan games, including the shockingly good Vampire Survivors riff HoloCure. Korone, in particular, has a remarkably large presence in the gaming community. She💜 was briefly given a♌n Easter egg in Doom Eternal (per ), and even Banjo-Kazooie composer . So as bizarre as it is, you can start to see why to spearhead marketing for Frontiers.
Alas, this Korone DLC is apparently . Of course, tꦑhat's never stopped determined fans before, and vtuber fans and Sonic enthusiasts are nothing if not determined.
Here's hoping Korone can liven up what our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic Frontiers review calls a tour of abysmal platforming.

The early Sonic games had developed a uniquely satisfying rhythm: jump on a few baddies, collect a ring or twenty, then hit a hill and bounce around until y🌸ou found out whether you w♑ere epileptic. And for many players, that third high-speed component of the experience was where the money was at. So hey, figured Sega, why not fashion a whole game out of those bits?
The Genesis was already the console of choice for many pinball fans with a🐬 puzzling aversion to actual physical pinball tables, and Sonic Spinball held its own alongside the likes of Dragon Fury, Psycho Pinball, and Crue Ball. And if you weren't a huge Sonic fan, here was a game consisting of nothing but opportunities to bash the mouthy mascot around the head with huge flippers🌜. Everyone wins!

Built for fast-paced dual-screen challenges, the Rush titles were for a long time the best wa🧸y to get old-school side-on action with a pinch of next-generation flair. Rush Adventure thrives in plus-sized side-on platform bursts but also offers bouts of well-executed 3D to remind you that you'꧅re playing on a machine with some chops.
Technical aptitude aside, 💙here's a game that keeps Sonic and Tails off the streets and introduces a non-mortifying new character in Marine the Raccoon, a character that serves as the springboard for a story of piracy꧑, multidimensional invaders, and interplanetary conflict. In its day, this was the title you fired up to disprove anyone who said the series had lost its way.

Intended as yet-another rebirth for Sonic to coincide with Nintendo's then-upcoming Wii console, Secret Rings takes its cue from the Arabian Ni❀ghts - meaning developers were free to wear their Prince of Persia influences on their sleeves. The title played to Wii strengths with an emphasis on racer-style platform action and level design which favored speed-runs over precision-jumping challenges.
For an꧒ early Wii title the game holds up well today, with graphics that impressed on release and still turn heads. Critics at the time suggested that Secret Rings might mark a turning-point for the series then ailing fortunes; history and replay value prove them right.

Sonic and racing had always seemed an obvious fit, and Sega had made early forays into the concept with the Game Gear's Sonic Drift titles. This Saturn title offered a substantial-tech injec♚tion for Sonics pole-position aspirations, with co-developers Travellers Tales tweaking the game's design to squeeze as much speed and detail out of the 32-bit hardware as possible.
It's a short, colorful burst by today's standards, which is no bad thing, and offers a look at the early days of what would become quite the profitable 🎃little sideline for Sega's mascot. Later, Sonic Racers would only improve on th𒆙e concept, making Sonic R an embryonic taste of what would become titles like Sonic All-Stars Racing.

Expanding the hyperkinetic Sonic seri𓄧es into role-play territory was a stunt guaranteed to raise eyebrows, and you can bet Sega wasn't about to just fob the job off on anyone. After all, Mario hadn't gone the HP-n-batt♎le-scenes route until Squaresoft was ready to do the concept justice - so similar interest in Sega's experiment was piqued when genre titans BioWare were given the task.
While geared more toward the DS youth audience than fans of Mass Effect or Dragon Age, the game remains among Sonic's stronger cross-genre ventures - t🎀o say nothing of more ambitious. Sequel rumors have been teased since the game's release, but following BioWare's incorp👍oration into EA, these seem rather unlikely to come to fruition.

Assuring players that their aim was to rectify the missteps of earlier Sonic titles, Sonic Team gave players a reason to lo♔ok out for this Nintendo-exclusive soft reboot geared toward players too young to have grown up with the series' side-on originators. The result, released for the DS and Wii in 2010, sho𓂃wed the wisdom of this strategy.
Instead of trying t🅺o roll together everything anyone had ever liked about a Sonic title, Colors was fast, tight, and offered variety via well-placed power-ups and environments built around high-speed thrills. Which, come to think of it, was prett♛y much everything older fans had always liked about Sonic games as well.

Okay, you know what? It's been years since Sonic Unleashed, and Werehog jokes have put sever💎al GamesRadar children through college by now. We're finally ready to lay the matter to rest and admit that Sonic Unleashed is acꦯtually a good game. It looks beautiful, plays fast 'n' flashy, and certainly can't be accused of coasting on earlier successes.
Besides this, it's worth bearing in mind that the Sonic games take place in a world where animals are always being turned into creepy creatures. The whole reason the Sonic/Robotnik beef got started in the first place w🦩as due to the latter turning animals into monsters. Meanwhile, Mario is getting turned into frogs and bees and a mythical Japanese raccoon without so much as an objection. And besides that, the non-Werehog bits of Unleashed were a welcome return to form for the Hedgehog, bringing 2D perspective and high-speed thrills back to the forefront.

Platform(s): Master System, Game Gear
The Master System and Game Gear versions of Sonic 1 had hewn fairly close to the Genesis standa🤡rd, but Sonic 2 on Sega's 8-bit systems bore little comparison to the 16-bit title of the same name. The game looked different, sounded different, and played like a Sonic title, but one built for the smaller systems strengths. If the high-speed multiplaಞyer pyrotechnics of Sonic 2 Genesis were reined in slightly for this version, in their place were new vehicle modes and gameplay gimmicks to push the 8-bit hardware.
Did the different approach pay off? While the 16-bit Sonic 2 is the one that's remembered, this title remains a thrilling challenge with plenty of surprises for first-time players. It's still one of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Sega Game Gear games of all time.

Platform(s): Master System, Game Gear
Having played to the Game Gear and Master System's strengths with the distinctly standalone 8-bit versions of Sonic 2, repeat series contributors Aspect Co. were given free reign to continue the breakaway adventures of Sonic and Tails on the then-dwindling Ma𒊎ster System and Game Gear. Which, hey, if you were still actively rocking a Master System in 1993, was probably the best news you'd heard all year.
And✅ while attention was focused on the series' increasingly hi-tech fortunes, Chaos quietly continued to remind players that they were still playing a Sonic game, damn it💙. Tails was finally playable (having kept to an NPC role in the 8-bit Sonic 2) and Sonic continued to run as fast as he could through as many gravity-testing scenarios as the older hardware would permit. A late contributor to the series' Golden Age, but it just scrapes in.

Having well and truly found its feet on the racetrack, this second racing e🐭ntry in the Sonic/Sega All-Stars crossover is a standout for either franchise. Presenting players with a variety of characters and courses drawn from the breadth of Sega his🧜tory, it's at once a Smash Brothers-esque fan-service extravaganza and an instantly accessible, easy-to-like addition to the mascot-racer genre.
Thไe game's transforming vehicles keep races interesting, and loving callouts to earlier properties like Golden Axe and NiGHTS serve as reminders that Sega has known how to make a good game since before many of its current fans wer🔜e born. Early issues with the game's Wii U version were soon patched and served as a strong early showing for Sonic on the Nintendo platform.

One of the endearing qualities of the Sonic series has long been its trans-Pacific development history, with Japanese and US teams both having contributed to the franchise over the years. Sonic Adventure 2 may have ♍marked the series last outing on a Sega console - the Dreamcast had been discontinued months earlier - but it was also the first to be developed primarily by Sonic Team USA, whose San Francisco streets influenced the game's urban environments.
Just as US input had seen the Genesis Sonic 2 expand substantially on the original's high-speed bravado, Sonic Adventure 2 was a much zippier, more stunt-f♔illed experience than its comparatively plot-heavy predecessor. This influence served the series well and would ensure positive receptions for later ports of the game.

The new millennium brought with it new r🌌ules: there was a different President in the White House, airplanes wouldn't fly unless you took your shoes off, and original Sonic games were 🌼now making their debut on Nintendo's Game Boy Advance. At the time, these releases were often superior to Sonic's console adventures.
Nowadays, Sonic and Nintendo are more like old friends with a colorful backstory - but when the hedgehog first stepped out with Big N in 2002, console war veterans probably wondered what all those playground arguments had ever been in aid of. Showcasing classic 2D Sonic action, Advance gave birth to a consistently successful new franchise, reducing Sonic's die-hard brand loyalty to a distant memory from the hal🥂cyon-toned 1990s.

Nowadays, we think nothing of it when a developer builds so much game that the excess has to be mopped up and rolled into aඣ DLC extension; but back before downloading was a thing, a physical add-on for adding new content to your game cartridge was quite the talking-point. Never gimmick-shy, Sega made the most of the oddity (made mostly out of resources that couldn't fit into Sonic 3 in time for release) with a variety of new unlockables, depending on which Sonic cartridge the ꦐgame was paired with.
Offering new ways of playing through Sonics 2 and 3, as well as added levels exclusive to the Knuckles-themed chunk of the game, the title extended a♛lready beloved releases and tided fans over until everyone went out and bought a Sega Saturn (well, that was the hope). It's that first 16-bit heyday extended just a little longer.

The Sonic franchise has gone from bust to boom more than once - but if there's any period that can be said to represent the character's Golden Age, it would have to be the late-era 16-bit generation. And while not necessarily the best of that era, Sonic 3 is probably th🍎e one ꦐthat the most people played.
Having achieved widespread ubiquity via Genesis bundle-filler Sonic 2, the next title rewarded series fans with a greater degree of variety between characters, stages, and enhancements. In many ways, it's the best parts of Sonics 1 and 2, rolled into a frantically spinning ball and padded out with enough new surprises to fill two games' worth of content, which was appropriate, with Sonic & Knuckles com𒆙ing hot on its heels.

While Sega was tweaking the Sonic formula with high-profile home console outings in the mid-'00s, the company placed a bet on this side-scrolling throwback - a throwback that would go on to become one of the series' most celebrated entries. After all, we don't want to spoil anything for yo🐠u, but a recurring tꦿheme of Sonic's life story is going to be Sonic and 3D don't always mix.
So when bringing th𒐪e character to the DS, Sega wisely chose to employ the handheld's polygonal capabilities diligently, mainly by adding 3D characters and boss encounters to a side-scrolling jump-and-dash extravaganza much more in line with the series' roots. The result is a game that bridged the gap between hardline retro♒gamers and fans of the character's later chummier outings.

After examining Sonic's long h🌄istory in Sonic Generations, Sonic Lost World starts a whole new chapter for the Blue Blur - partially by borrowing from Super Mario Galaxy. Instead of running on city streets, Lost World restricts Sonic to floating planetoids that rest𓄧rict his movement so he can focus on pure speed. It seems so obvious that it's strange Sonic hadn't done this before (not counting the canceling Saturn game, Sonic X-treme).
The 3D controls are better than ever for Sonic, and the Wii U-powered visuals are can✃dy-colored perfection. Lost Worlds builds on what Sonic Colors did and, save for some annoying difficulty spikes, makes for a great Sonic game for every type of Sonic fan.

You have to understand, seeing Sonic transition so seamlessly into 3D in 1998 was like bumping into an old friend you'd lost touch with, only to find that since you last spoke they'd become World🔜 President George Clooney. Seriously, the Dreamcast original still looks go🐎od alongside some games made 10 years later.
Mapping Sonic's twitch-centric gameplay onto the Z-axis would prove a continual challenge for Sega, but for a while there, Sonic Adventure made it look as if the company 🌞had♛ nailed it. At the very least, it was a step up from the previous attempt, Sonic 3D Blast, which was neither 3D nor a blast of any kind.

No one can accuse Sega of being unwilling to take Sonic in new and interesting directions - even if those directions don't always sit well with longtime fans. When the company celebrated the character's 20th birthday with Sonic Generations, Sega set the OG Sonic alongside his contemporary counterpart in an all-time fan-gripe showdown forܫ the ages.
As perennial fan-gripers with a strong bi🥃as toward fun and/or forgetting how many years we've been alive, we welcomed the new Sonic as one of the character's best outings since the Genesis era a🌳nd were disappointed to hear that Sega has no plans for Classic Sonic beyond Generations. Still, if '90s Sonic was ever going to cash out, you'd think he'd have done it by now, what with the eleventy billion or so times players sent him to his death already...

Perhaps you took note of the Neo Geo being 🤡reborn with the official ♕SNK handheld named the Neo Geo Gold. If you, like us, are still trying to work out what to make of the iPhoney-looking contraption, consider that SNK's 𓂃been doing crazy things to portable gaming for years--such as having the first ever Sonic game on a third-party console, 1999's Sonic Pocket Adventure for the Neo Geo Pocket.
Playing much like the Genesis' Sonic 2, with a few Sonic 1 elements and Sonic 3 music tracks mixed in, Sonic Pocket Adventure showed that SNK's handheld was good for mꦐore than just SNK games; regrettably, it's a lesson few tookܫ to heart, as evidenced by the Pocket's quick cancellation in the western markets.

Before deciding you've seen all the So𒁃nic th♌e 2D Age has to offer, though, spend some time with the 8-bit versions of the series' initial entries.
Sonic 1 and 2 on the Game Gear and Master System share some cosmetic eleme🐽nts with their better-known counterparts, but for the most 🌼part, are entirely new adventures - including early forays into vehicle sections and a dauntingly fast-paced take on the series' signature bonus stages. "The game that started it all" is an easy way🌺 to say it, at least if you don't feel that it all started when someone at Sega brought a Mario ♕game to work and said, "Guys, we need some of this action." Regardless of the character's origins, his debut was a resounding success, in one shot propelling the attitudinal anthropomorphic to international recognition.
While establishing Sonic's signature zippiness to the satisfaction of a generation yet to discover the wonders of Ritalin, the series' first installment is also deceptively intricate, rewarding repeat play with enough extras and secrets to keep players interested until later sequels ramped up the speed even further. It's a snapshot into a time before buzzwords like Blast Processing changed the way we see the world, and to think the Nobel Committee continues🌼 to look down its nose at Sega for that innovation.

Nowadays, when a developer releases new bits of a game with bonus additions to the original title, we call it DLC and grudgingly devour it whole on launch day. But back in the '90s, that extra content had no way of getting to you besides the medium of a whole other game c🍸artridge; a special one, no less, that could be physically bolted onto older Sonic games to add a new character and🍸 teach kids all sorts of erroneous things about what an echidna is exactly.
But the cart's best use is probably as a S🐻onic 3 enhancement device. The Knuckles-augmented threequel is both the character's finest hour and our favorite way to play Sonic 3 itself. The original game was designed with the intention of featuring Knuckles as a core character, and the three-way ability divide between Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles is oneღ of the add-on's biggest overhauls. The separate games deserves spots on this list, but they work best in tandem.

If we can just turn your little cookie-cutter world upside down for a second here, the canonical version of Sonic CD isn't actually the Sega CD version at all. Though, admittedly, the 1993 original looked pretty special in 1993 - particularly next to most Genesis titles, and particularly if you were young and undiscerning eno🦩ugh to fall within Sonic's target audience at the time.
Dig that game out now and all the new bits (such as Metal Sonic, in-game time travel and, ahem, Amy Rose) look a little 🐻less shiny, but are surprisingly innovative for the series. Still, it was starting to show its age, at least until a recent downloadable po💎rt, rebuilt for modern consoles and mobiles, is the game that actually plays as well as you remember.

Platform(s): Sega Genesis
The game where much of the Sonic formula fell into place,🅠 Sonic 2 on tไhe Genesis is probably the title most commonly associated with the character. The game launched in November of 1992, the same month Bill Clinton - the model for Sonic's can-do personality, - was elected to the Oval Office. And it's fair to say that both events had a comparable effect on the next decade.
Launched amid a barrage of international hype, Sonic 2 would become a standard of Genesis players' collections as the pack-in game for the redesigned system. So fruitful was the title's develo⛦pment that many of the more ambitious elements intended for Sonic 2 (before getting cut) would end up forming the backbone of later entries in the series. Meanwhile the bits you did get - Tails, the Spin Dash, increasingly inventive uses of the Genesis hardware - are what made this one an easy choice to rank as the best Sonic game ever made.

]]>Sonic the Hedgeওhog raced onto the gaming scene all the way back in 1991 with the release of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Segꦿa Mega Drive. Having appeared on many platforms over the years, this speedy anthropomorphic blue Hedgehog is known and loved by players of all ages, and he's got the sales figures to prove it.
As spotted by video game industry analyst and Twitter user MauroNL, the latest by Sega reveals lifetime sales (that's combined game sales and downloads across premium and free-to-play games) of Sonic the Hedgehog are now more than 1.51 billion. shows sales for the Sonic franchise stood at 1.38 b🅺illion, meaning more than 30 years later, the series is showing no signs of slowing down.

Likely helping to boost Sonic's profile even more is the recent CGI movie sequel, something which Sega CEO Haruki Satomi touched on in the report. "Released worldwide in the spring of 2022, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic the Hedgehog 2 broke the record for the highest-grossing video game-based film ever 🅷in the U.S., and met with high acclaim worldwide." He added, "I saw a local shopping mall in the States that was overflowing with Sonic merchandise."
When it comes to Sega's other series, it seems none can keep up with Sonic. As the report shows, Puyo Puyo currently has a total of 37.7 million sales, and ⭕Virtua Fighter has managed to shift 18.8 million units so far. In terms of IP acquired by Seg🗹a, the strategy series Total War has reached an impressive 40.4 million in sales, while figures for Football Manager currently stand at 25 million.

]]>I didn't know what to expect when I sat down to play Sonic Frontiers. After all, the last time I had played a Sonic game it was a 2D affair. As I hopped on launch pads and flung the little blue critter through various hoops, the movement is definitely more akin to one of Sonic's adventures than Link's. But I still came away feeling like I had꧅ played some kind of Breath of the Wild fan-remake with Sonic as the star.
What really sold Sonic Frontiers to me as a Bre🌜ath of the Wild-inspired game are the enemies known as Titans that can be found scattered around the island. Just like Breath of the Wild's Guardians, the Titans have a mysterious and ancient feel about them and put Sonic through his paces. Very early on in the demo, I'm prompted to approach a group of peculiar-looking rocks that spring up a💎nd turn out to be Titans. These Titans are some of the smaller ones I encounter along the way, and only require a couple of quick charges from the blue blur to defeat. There isn't much of a technique to winning these smaller fights; you just have to get close to one of the enemies and repeatedly hit a button to make Sonic throw himself at them and take them out.
This technique is pretty much the same for the bigger Titans I'm thrown into battle with during my playthrough. One of these enemies is a Titan call🃏ed Ninja. This intimidating geometric entity tosses me around the map more times than I'd like to admit, causing gold rings to fly out of Sonic at an alarming rate. Thankfully, j𝔍ust like with its smaller cousins, Ninja wasn't too hard to beat and only required a few additional - slightly more strategic - charges to eventually wear it down.
After this encounter, I'm presented with a puzzle - albeit a very simple one. To pass through to the next location, I have to line up three statues that then opens a sealed-off archway to the next area𓆏 - which is also somewhat similar to the kinds of puzzles you'd find in the Shrines of Breath of the Wild. I'm not prepared for what's on the other side of the door though - an even bigger baddie called The Tower. Unlike the first few enemy encounters I'd come up against so far, this one feels like a genuine boss fight and not just something to get your XP up along the way. The Tower is composed of several smaller segments, which once again requires Sonic to thrash into it repeatedly to gradually break it down.
I can't say that I had a bad experience playing Sonic Frontiers. In fact, as someone with so little Sonic experience, it's a great game to get started with. The best part of the whole demo saw me racing Sonic up and down the hilly environment, sliding onto rails, and launching him up into the sky after jumping on a springy platform. It's also very easy to get from one side of the map 💃to the other, meaning there's never a moment during my playthrough where I feel like I don't know what I'm doing or where I should go next, whereas that can be the case when playing Breath of the Wild.
In this short demo, the similarities between Sonic Frontiers and Breath of the Wild are palpable. Perhaps it's just this zone that bears a resemblance to Nintendo's 2017 hit, and maybe other areas of the game༺'s world have a completely different feel. Judging by some of the Sonic Frontiers trailers, there's definitely more to this game than just wandering around an island, collecting rings, and taking out Titans.

Big the cat iꦚs in Frontiers.Wooo. pic.twitter.com/VDhD8whISS

The Callisto Protocol continues to look extremely gory, but that’s no surprise from the mind behind the Dead Space games. This was actually our first look at “live” gameplay for The Callisto Protocol, which showed our protagonist sneak✨ing around an area and stabbing horrific monsters in the back, and hurling enemies with their stasis power into a blending machine. Oh, and then he gets swept away by a flood and chopped in half by turbine propellers. Hard luck.

We'll need Strand's power (and grappling hook) to defend Neptune's cyberpunk city of Neomuna from the Witness and his new disciple Calus, who leads a Shadow Legion of Cabal bolstered by the new Tormentor enemy type. At least we've got some friendly and absolutely shredded Cloud Strider warriors to help us out. Well, this was something of a surprise. 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Moonbreaker is a sci-fi game featuring digital miniatures, set in 𒈔a universe created by the best-selling author Brandon Sanderson. The game actually has you painting your characters before sending them out into turn-based battles on a playing field. Moonbreaker enters early access later this year on September 29, and it looks like a lush miniatur🅺es game for people who just can’t handle the stress of painting.
What started as a cute trailer with anthropomorphic animal protagonists and a ukulele ditty soon turned into something else entirely as we have bওeen introduced to Friends vs Friends, a stylish deckbuilding FPS that we didn’t know we needed until now. Battle your bu💟ds in various PvP modes, or simply tinker with your deck in a practice mode to get everything just right.
If you were on the fence about Pinocchio-bourne Lies of P, then the fact it's a day one Game Pass offering will probably 𓃲ease it into your 'give a try' pocket. The Blue Fairy's there, Jiminy Cricket, Geppetto - it's basically exactly like you remember as long as you remember brutal monster killing and punishing boss fights. The overall premise sees you playing as a puppet mechanoid trying to find Geppetto in a cit♉y called Krat "overwhelmed by madness and bloodlust". This bizarre-but-intriguing mix of fairy tales and demanding soulsborne action will begin its once upon a time when it releases in 2023.

The 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Genshin Impact 3.0 release time is just hours away at the time of writing, but Hoyoverse managed to fire out one more teaser trailer ahead of the big update. This is one of the most compelling looks at Sumeru yet, and the new characters Tighnari, Dori, and Collei still look incredible in action. Compared to previous trailers, this short preview shows of🌃f a bit more of the desert side of Sumeru, and it looks every bit as stunning as the region's rainforests, chock-full of relics and ruins waiting to be unearthed. Between ancient secrets, glorious sights, and new Dendro team comps, 3.0 is looking like Genshin's biggest patch yet.
We got a fresh look at another game from the Genshin Impact devs with a new trailer for Honkai Star Rail. This one's all about the story, featuring a very hot anime boy resting dreamily on the titular space✃ tr🀅ain, before being disturbed by some nightmarish visions of weapons, villains, and general unpleasantness.
We got an earful of some very talkative weapons in Hಌigh on Life, a first-person action game previously unveiled at the Xbox showcase earlier this year. The action and platforming look solid in the gameplay footage shown, but your tolerance for the unending dialogue is going to depend a lot on 𝐆how much you like the work of Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland, whose style is all over High on Life.
Now here’s one game you should definitely have an eye on for this year. Hardspa♕ce꧂: Shipbreaker is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X platforms next month on Septeꦜmber 20, telling the story of a lone corporate worker caught underneath the crushing weight of capitalism. Cara Gee🍎 is reprising her role as Camina Drummer, a Belter - which is what you're called if you're born in space - when she's just a lowly scavenger and XO on a ship called the Artem♊is. Long before she was the feared Belter leader on TV.
The newly revealed gameplay shows a lot of zero-G action as you move freely through the stars, trying to stay attached to things because drifting off into the dept🌸hs is every Belter's nightmare. As you deal with all this you'll meet a younger, less hardened Camina, trying to take care of a mutiny on board the Artemis while surviving the harsh unforgiving nature of space as portrayed in The Expanse on screen. It's coming in Summer 2023.
Well, who saw this coming? 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Killer Klowns from Outer Space is somehow back and ready for it all over again, this time in the form of a multiplayer game. If you’re looking forward tౠo this one, beta sign-ups are ♎already live.
Another sci-fi game that’s “coming soon”, Scars Above has shown off a good deal of story and gameplay during Opening Night Live. The story kicks into gear when a mysterious alien structure appears above the earth💧, giving us all th♐e reason we need to experience a good helping of over-the-shoulder gunplay, exploration, and puzzle-solving.
Not only have we got a glimpse a💟t a new open-world RPG from some of the developers behind Skyrim and Fallout: New Vegas, but we’ve got word of their new studio, t𓄧oo. Something Wicked Games is a new studio that’s headed up by
15-year Bethesda Game Studios veteran Jeff Gardiner. We’ve only got an animatic teaser trailer to go off for now, though we do know that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Wyrdsong is an occult historical fantasy RPꦐG that’s set in a fictionalised version of Portugal iℱn the mi𝓀ddle ages.
Two new civilizations are on their way to Age of Empires 4 in its upcoming ann♐iversary update. The first, the Malians, are focused on strategy and cunning, with a gameplay preview that makes a lot of their attempts at stealth and ranged combat. Both new civs will be available for free when the update arrives on October 25.
Gotham Knights is no stranger to the game industry's sea of delays, but this time it's getting the opposite treatment: it's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:coming out four days early, on October 21. A new trailer focused on a host o✃f villains you'll be battling throughout the game, including Mr. Freeze, Clayface, and Harley Quinn.
Here’s one game that very nearly stole the show. 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Where Winds Meet is a brand new action-RPG with an open world, set in ancient China, and developed by Chinese studio Everstone Games. We saw lots of aerial combat throughout the new trailer for the game, comple𝐆te with wall-running and martial arts combat. Hey, if you thought mainline Assassin’s Creed should head to China, this could well be the game for you.
Yes, really. Geoff Keighley's best friend made his customary appearance to say that while he's working on his new "games" (yes, that's games, plural), 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:he's also putti𝕴ng togethe꧂r a new podcast. Arriving exclusively on Spotify this September, both Englཧish and Japanese versions will be available,🦋 with "simultaneous interpretation." Other details are scarce, but Keighley himself will be appearing with an industry news segment (alongside other industry guests), and the first episode is set to release on September 8.
Park Beyond is a new take on the concepts built by the likes of Roller Coaster Tycoꦇon and Planet Coaster, letting you build an amusement pa🎀rk full of increasingly unhinged rides equally sure to maim and delight.
A new trailer offered a broad overview of the game, alongside some unfortunate news: it's been delayed to a 𓃲vague release window of 2023 from its previous vague release window of sometime in 2022.
A new trailer for the co-op action of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide opened with the line "you are a reject," as if Warhammer fans didn't already suffer enough social stigma. The trailer offers a broad overview of the game,🏅 going through class selection, loadout building, and the combination of melee and ranged combat.
We got a new look at the first-person fantasy archery game, Blacktail, thanks to a gorgeous new trailer showcasing the setting, story, and monsters you'll be facing. Blacktail puts you in control of Baba Yaga, who seems to be presented in much more sympathetic terms than the traditional myths - though it seems you'll be able to decide how g💯ood or evil you want to be. Blacktail launches for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S this winter.
This theatrical platformer-slasher co🔜mbines 2D jumping puzzles with brutal 3D combat, all with a distinct Phantom of the Opera vibe. Beyond a (very impressive) vibe check tonight, there's not much to go on, but you might just learn more later this 🐭week.

Yes, there is a new Outlaඣst game, and y🍷es, it continues to look downright horrifying. This time though, the horror franchise is putting a multiplayer twist on its usual formula, beckoning in multiple players at once to get absolutely scared silly. There’s actually a closed beta for The Outlast Trials taking place later this year between October 28 and November 1, for those who are brave enough.
This one got the briefe💯st of teasers, though that’s all we needed. The Finals is a "shooter wrapped in a game show format” from a new studio made up of former Battl🃏efield developers. A full reveal is coming next month, though you can sign-up to playtest the game now.
Zombie killing? Check. Lenny Kravitz? Yes. 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Dead Island 2 is finally back and ready for more, and there isn’t even that long to wait until the long-gestating game i💎s here, as it’s launching early next year on February 3, 202🐽3. In this new trailer we were introduced to protagonist Jacob, but he’s actually just one of six available characters you can play as and master in the zombie-smashing sequel.
]]>At the Gamescom Opening Night Live ceremony earlier today on August 23, Sega debuted a brand new extensive trailer for Sonic F🦋rontiers. It was during this trailer that the wor꧅ldwide release date of November 8 was finally confirmed for the new action-packed game, confirming the leak from earlier on in the day.
The original article follows below.
Original: A 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic Frontiers release date♛ of November 8 has apparently been accidentally revealed online.
The new detail came about earlier today on August 23, from a Japanese ad for the upcoming game. Apparently, the new ad ended by displaying a release date of November 8 in Japan for Sonic Frontiers, which if true, is a brand new release date for the gam𒉰e.
A new Japanese Sonic Fr꧟ontiers ad includes a November 8 release date//t.co/Y6moP1tQVT pic.twitter.com/suJeGqPmUt
However, it appears the trailer h༒as since been delisted from YouTube. If꧂ you click on the YouTube link to the trailer in the tweet above now, you'll find a message instead saying that the video has been set to private, meaning only those with access can see the restricted trailer.
Although the trailer has been delisted, it does lend credence to the accuracy of the leaked release date for Sonic Frontiers. We could potentially be waiting just a few more months for the arrival of Sonic Frontiers, and it&a🦩pos;s worth mentioning that Sega has always been transparent about targeting a late 2022 release window for the Blue Blur's new game.
In fact, this isn't even the first time the date of November 8 has been mentioned for Sonic Frontiers. Earlier this year, sleuthing Steam users noted the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:storefront's database had been upꦦdated to display a release date 𝕴of November 8 for the game, although this was changed to the date of Dece💫mber 3 shortly after it was picked up on.
It could be that this trailer was suppos꧂ed to be revealed later today on August 23. Gamescom Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley has confirmed that Sonic Frontiers will have a presence at the showcase taking place later today, so it&ap♔os;s entirely possible that the leaked release date could be announced here.
Here are some of the games scheduled to appear during #gamescom Opening Night Live today at 8p CEST/7p BST/2p ET/11a PT a𒅌t //t.co/AFycLZG9XF pic.twitter.com/QqFH5oKP99
Head over to our full 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic Frontiers preview to see what we made of Sega's ambitious new direction when we played the game earlier this year.
]]>The game's - which recently pointed to a November 8 launch - has been updated again less than 24♔ hours after the original change. As of last night, the associated release date is now December 3. That could mean a slightly longer wait, but it could also mean that this backend information✤ isn't being used to track the launch at all, as game releases are often set with a greater degree of exactitude than these tweaks would imply.
Whatever the reality of the situation, however, there does seem to be some good news. Controversial anti-piracy software Denuvo, which was added to the Steam listing earlier this week, now appears to hav♍e been removed from the game. That could prove to be good news for performance-focused Sonic fans.
Original story: 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic Frontiers fans think they've figuꦛred out the game's release date thanks to♈ a Steam listing.
Yesterday on July 19, Twitter user Aozora drew the Sonic fandom's attention to the fact that the SteamDB database had listed a November 8 release date for the new game. Additionally, the Steam entry for the game had also just been updated to add full controller support, achievements, DRM support, and more. Th൲e entry also shifted the release date associated with the listing away from September 1, whꩵich is likely to have been a placeholder date.

If the listed release date is accurate for Sonic Frontiers, it means that Sega's new game will be going up against 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Skull and Bones, which is set to launch from Ubisoft on the very same day. Perhaps overshadowing both games, though, is the imposing 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:God of War Ragnarok, which launches just one day later on Novem💜ber 9.
It should be noted that Sega has never prov🃏ided a specific release date for Sonic Frontiers, and has alway🌃s maintained a "late 2022" release window for the upcoming game. Nonetheless, a release date of November 8 would very much align with the planned late 2022 window.
Over on the , the news of a supposed November 8 release date is going down pretty well. What isn't going down so well, however, is the p♏lanned♒ Denuvo DRM inclusion for the game, which fans reckon might significantly hinder performance for PC players. It's not the first time we've heard cries against Denuvo's technology, and it probably won't be the last.
Check out our full 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic Frontiers impressions from when we went hands-on with the game for the very first time just last month in June.
]]>Last month's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Direct Mini: Partne🎉r Showcase gave us our latest look at 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic Frontiers, which will bring the series' traditional platforming to an open-world setting for the very first time. While the levels showcased certainly look like classic Sonic environments, it remains to be seen whether "open-zone freedom" will be as popular as the liꦕnear levels of previous titles.
But for those who prefer a slightly more old-school Sonic adventure, there's now a fan-made Sonic game that transforms Sonic Frontiers into a 2D game. Made by the talented KomliWorldGames, Sonic Fꦍrontiers 2D features an open zone to explore and gameplay mechanics straight out of the blue blur&apꦆos;s upcoming game. There's also a Cyberspace level which you can access by collecting ten hearts.
From the footage, which you can check out below, Sonic Frontiers 2D looks impressive and fittingly pays tribute to both Sonic's new adventure and his old hits at the same time. You'll have to wait until late 2022 to play Sonic Frontiers,♎ but you can download this fan-made creation right now via .
Back in May, we got our first look at gameplay for Sonic Frontiers, which showed combat, open-world exploration, and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Shadow of ൲the Colossus-style boss fights.
We recently got to demo the game but weren't exactly wowed by what we saw. "Mechanically, visually, and narratively, Sonic Frontiers makes a staggeringly awful first impression," we said in our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic Frontiers hands-on preview. Let's h🔯ope for better things f🎉rom the full game.
Check out our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Sonic Frontiers preview from earlier this year for more on what Sega's trying to achieve with this new take on the blue blur.
]]>"This is frustrating," Simon 'Stealth' Thomley of Headcannon says on . "I won't lie and say that there weren't issues in what we gave to Sega, but what is in Origins is also not what we turned in. Integ🐷ration introduced some wild bugs that convenꦕtional logic would have one believe were our responsibility - a lot of them aren't."
This is frustrating. I won't lie and say that there weren't issues in what we gave to Sega, but what is in Origins is also not what we turned in. Integration introduced some wild bugs that conventi😼onal logic would have one believe were our responsibility- a lot of them aren't.
Headcannon is a software development studio run by Thomley, which worked on the mobile remasters of Sonic 1 and 2 alongside famed community developer Christian Whitehead. Those꧋ two ports, a♐s well as Whitehead's Sonic CD remaster, were folded into the Origins collection, as well as a new remaster of Sonic 3 & Knuckles developed by Headcannon.
However, Thomley says that the Sonic 3 reℱmaster was originally "a separate project that was then wrangled into something entirely different" for Origins. Thomely says that the Headcannon team d🧸id make "some actual mistakes, some overlooking, [and] some rushjobs," but claims that Sega denied requests for delays and last-minute fixes, and made major changes to the submitted build.
"I'm extremely proud of my team for their performance under such pressure, but every one of us is very unhappy about the state of Origins and even the Sonic 3 component," Thomley says. "We weren't too thrilled about its pre-submission state either but a lot was beyond our♓ co♔ntrol."
Thomley that the team's dealings with Sega of America were "very 🎃pleasant for the most part" and that "I am not fighting with Sega." Thomley says that "we offered to come back for post-release fixes and updates - we do not yet know if this is happening."
Players have reported a number of issues with the collection so far, including poor audio quality, buggy new features, and poor AI from companion characters. The PC version, which also includes the controversial Denuvo DRM, is currently sitting at a "mixed" user revi𝕴ew aggregate on .
We've reached out to Sega for comment and🔜 will update if we learn mo🌊re.
Sonic Origins has also made the Sonic 3 and Michael Jackson saga even more convoluted.
]]>Naka from the official Sega TikTok account where a person in a Sonic costume tries𒉰 to pick up a cup of coffee that's too hot - while the base line from Billie Jean plays in the background and samples of Michael Jackson's voice play in the background.
"I feel like I'm being misunderstood a lot," , "probably because I don't speak English and I'm using a translation tool💟. Sorry."
Whil꧂e Sega's never officially acknowledged Jackson's contribution to Sonic 3, the musicians who worked with him on the game have been very specific about it. A 2016 features direct confirmation that Jackson's music made it into the game.
Original story follows...
And just like th🔥at, Sonic creator Yuji Naka has casually co🔯nfirmed on Twitter that Michael Jackson worked on the Sonic 3 soundtrack.
Somewhat out of the blue, the industry veteran took to🍌 social media to query Sonic Origins' soundtrack before confirming a long-standing rumour. "Does Sonic Origins Sonic 3 have a different song?" Naka . "Oh my god, the music for Sonic 3 has changed, even though Sega Official uses Michael Jackson's music."
Naka follows up the tweets with෴ an old🐎 picture he took with a camera while flying in Jackson's helicopter to visit his house. Clearly feeling a pinch of nostalgia, he has also shared some vintage snaps of a Pontiac Fiero and Chevrolet Lumina he drove while creating Sonic in San Francisco.
This is a picture tak𒀰en by me with my camera whe⛦n we went to his house in his helicopter. It's pretty faded. I miss it. pic.twitter.com/wtM1BtMHwT
over Jackson's involvement with the game has persisted for close to 30 years now. It's that the music star did work on the soundtrack but 🐭remained uncredited. Finding the truth to these claims, thou🦄gh, proved elusive as Sega has never officially confirmed Jackson's involvement, though several others, such as a keyboardist who worked with Jackson called Brad Buxer, .
To clarify Naka’s tweet somewhat, he’s talking about Sonic Origins, which doesn’t appear to include the original Sonic 3 soundtrack. If you’ve been out of the loop, Sonic Origins brings Sonic ꦛthe Hed▨gehog 1, 2, 3, & Knuckles to current-gen consoles. Sega has 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:delisted the classic Sonic games ahead of Origins’ launch, so it might just ඣbe your best way to play the cla🌱ssics.
Sonic Origins is out today.
Here are the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best retro games of all time, so say us.
]]>Each of the four games in the collection will offer two main modes. Classic offers "the original game presentation in 4:3 w🌳ith remastered visuals," though it's unclear what's remastered in this mode. Either way, this is the way to play if you want the original lives system of the 90s. Anniversary mode expands the game screen to fill a widescreen view and gives you infinite lives.
Story mode strings all four games together into a single, contiguous experience, with new animated op♛ening and ending cutscenes to help bridge the gaps. (The original Sonic CD cutscene is in there too, don't worry.)
A boss rush mode in each game lets you face off against a🔜ll the major enemies. Mission mode offers a 💙variety of challenges that you can take on, earning ranks based on how well you do. An unlockable mirror mode lets you play each game backwards, as well.
Coins can be unlocked by smashingꦏ open special item boxes hidden scattered across stages in anniversary mode, or by completing miไssions. You can spend coins to instantly retry special stages in anniversary mode, or to unlock things like concept art, videos, and music in a museum, which also features some "never before seen content."
While Origins looks like a solid collection of the classics, things like the game's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:confusing DLC rollout and the removal ofღ other classic releases from digital stores have left fans scratching their heads.

]]>This 30 second clip is a preview for an cover story, and the o🧔utlet will have an array of additional coverage on the game throughout the coming month, starting on June🎀 1.
The most intriguing bits of the new footage are the boss fights. Large robotic creatures appear to be wandering the open world, and as one's foot crashes down to the ground, Sonic runs up its leg like a ramp and starts bashing a glowing weak point on top of its body. We see a couple of different roboꦓts exploding into bits, and the sca🔴le of these automatons makes the game look a bit like a less somber Shadow of the Colossus.
Combat against normal enemies looks to include an aꦦrray of moves you can string into combos. We see Sonic circle an enemy, launch it into the air, and then deliver what looks like a series of mid-air spin dash attacks.
We also see Sonic activating a giant ring by running in it like a hamster 🦄wheel, which then sends out a large ping - perhaps a Ubisoft-style tower that shows nearby points of interest?
Sonic Frontiers was officially annouꦓnced at The Game Awards last year. W𝓡hile that trailer featured ple🎶nty of in-game footage, it was mostly big vista shots of scenery and the big explorable world. Today's clip marks our first real look at the game in action.
Expect a whole lot more info on big games over the course of June as the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:E3 2022 schedule kicks off.
]]>Patrick Casey and 🐲Josh Miller, the writing duo behind both Sonic the Hedgehog movies, recently took part in a small Q&A session with Klamath Community College in Oregon.🦩 As reported by , fans asked the pair several questions about the planned Sonic the Hedgehog 3, some of which they could answer, and others they unfortunately had to skirt around.
Casey and Miller couldn't answer a question about whether fan-favorite character Amy would appear in the sequel, for example, but offered a little hope, saying things were "in the works." Similarly, the duo couldn't comment on Jim Carrey returning for the sequel, after the actor 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:recently alluded to retiring, but said they were hopeful to have hi🌊mꦯ return as Robotnik.
After Shadow was briefly introduced in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, there were obviously going to be questions about the character in the 🐟third movie. Casey and Miller couldn't go into specifics about Shadow's presence in the sequel, but did say there were plans to incorporate elements from Shadow's spin-off game for the forthcoming film🦩.
The duo also didn't rule out hiring a famous Hollywood actor to voice the role of Shadow inꦜ Sonic the Hedgehog 3. You might think this isn't a s⭕urprise, given the nature of the Hollywood movie business, but it's worth pointing out Sonic the Hedgehog 2 recruited the long-standing voice of Tails, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, for the voice of the character in the sequel movie.
Finally, Casey and Miller have revealed that the current plan is to release Sonic the Hedg꧂ehog 3 in 2024. The duo stressed in the Q&A session that it's early days with plans for the sequel right now, and a script hasn't even been formalized, so it's no surprise the movie could still be at least two years out from release.

]]>The reason is simple: all four games are being remastered and released as part of Sonic Origins, which is launching on June 23 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Sonic Origins is a retro compilation that bundles together remastered versions of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic t🃏he Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. You can get🃏 the standard edition for $39.99 or the deluxe edition for $44.99.
Until they're delisted next month, the original games will be available for $5 each on , which me🦩ans you can buy all four of them individually and pay about half what you would for Sonic Origins, although you wouldn't get all🌠 the added goodies included in the collection.
For one, the games are remastered in Sonic Origins, which ty✃pically means better visuals and performance. But then there are also new areas to zip through, new animations, and the new anniversary mode, w𓆉hich gives you infinite lives and full-screen resolution. And for the retro faithful, Sonic Origins' classic mode offers the OG experience with limited lives and original presentation. It's worth noting that some of this content, particularly bonus animations and art extras, is locked behind DLC packs which are included in the deluxe edition and also sold separately.
Th💙ere are some exceptions that will let you buy and play some of the original Sonic games indefinitely. Sonic 1 and 2 will remain available via Sega Ages on the Switch and Sonic 2 will still be included in the Sega Genesis collection on Switch Online Plus, but the other games will become digitally exclusive to Sonic Origins.
You might remember Rockstar doing something similar with the original versions of GTA 1, 2, and 3 ahead of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:GTA Trilogy collection. Rockstar ultimately re-released the original PC versions and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:bundled ♛them in for free with GTA Trilogy, but that seemingly had more to do with the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:sorry state of the remastered verౠsions🌊 than any sort of preservation effort from R♉ockstar.

]]>Sega has today revealed that Sonic Origins will release on June 23, 2022 (Sonic’s birthday, FYI) and will be available on 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:PS5, PS4, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Pre-orders are open from today, but what’s got fans scratching their hea🧔ds is theﷺ weirdly complex pre-order bonuses - some of which have to be purchased separately.
A quick look at the shows four different pre-orders. Two of those are the standard game and a deluxe version with extras, and the other two are small adds ons for an extra cost. A list of the DLC content can be seen in full below, but what this really means is that the likes of character animations, camera controls over ⭕the main menu islands, mirror modes, and more are exclusive to certain versions of the game.
Video games are weird. pic.twitter.com/Yg1J1ORTKV
According to the website, fans have the option of the 'Standard Edition' which just contains the main gam꧒e ($39.99), the two DLC packs 'Prem🦋ium Fun Pack' and 'Classic Music Packs' that offer exclusive in-game features and tracks from the Sega Mega Drive ($3.99 each), and the 'Digital Deluxe Edition' that contains some of these exclusive add-ons as well as the main game ($49.99).
To make things even more confusing, there’s also the 'Start Dash Pack,' a free pre-order bonus for those who purchase either the standard or digital deluxe version of the game ahead of its release that gives players the likes of 100 bonus coins, mirror mode unlocked𝄹, and a letter box background (Mega Drive pattern).
As to be expected, with this strange pre-order setup, with why there aren’t just two options available, the standard and deluxe 🍰that comes with all the bells and whistles.
In c🔜ase you missed it, the Sonic Origins collection will contain remastered versions of several classic Sonic titles including Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. The new collection also comes with a range of new features, giving the classic games a modern twist.
Players will be able to revisit the iconic early Sonic games in a number of modes, including 'Classic Mode' which keeps the majority of the game’s original challenges and presentation, 'Anniversary Mode' which offers a full-screen display and infinite lives, 'Missions, Medallions and Museum' mode where players can put their skills to the test in the form of various missions, and 'Better Thanꦜ Ever' mode which contains remastered versio♛ns of all four games.

]]>The artwork, which debuted upon Sonic 2's release 30 years ago, depicts Jim Carrey's Dr. Robotnik leering over a checkered "2" pulled straight from the classic Sega Genesis cover. Front and center are Sonic and T𝓡ails, though the movie poster has them in much more action-oriented poses than the orig🀅inal game.
There's also the addition of a location instead of an ombre-styled backdrop like 🍨the original box art featured. It appears Sonic and Tails are standing in front of a 🙈waterfall with a glowing structure behind them as well during golden hour. Sonic and Tails are soaking up the lighting, natch.
In case you missed it: Digital artist @aq💃uaupgradeshop captured what appears to be a brand new #SonicMovie2 poster outside Los Angeles, CA.It's in the style of the famous #Son🦋ic2 box art, and fans are loving it! #SonicNews pic.twitter.com/4VBjkKSTXa
Everything about the promotional artwork seems meant to evoke that specific type of Sonic nostalgia fans carry with them, from the cast and characters and that huge "2" to the entire vibe. Even the movie's tagline, "Welcome to the Neꦬxt Level", references a classic Sega Gen🦂esis ad campaign.
In this sequel, Sonic has settled down in Green Hills, but is eage🐎r to prove himself as a hero. The return of Dr. Robotnik, who's now working with Knuckles, marks the perfect time for him to reveal how tough he can be. Sonic gears up with his own sidekick, 🃏Tails, to set off on a journey to procure a mystical emerald that Robotnik and Knuckles are after before they get it first.
The poster is just the latest piece of promotional material ahead of Sonic the Hedgehog 2's theatrical release next month on April 8. Given the response to the original film, we could have another fun video game adaptation on our hands, though it's still a bit too earl♛y to tell. If nothing else though, it looks like a good reason to sit around and think about the good old days of Sonic.

]]>Switch Type: MSI Sonic Red
Switch Durability: 70+ million presses
Media Keys: Integrated w/ function keys
Connection: Single USB 2.0
Battery Life: N/A
Wrist-rest: N/A
Dimensions: 17.4 x 5.4 x 1.6 in | 442.5 x 138 x 41mm
The GK71 Sonic is a full-size, mechanical keyboard crafted out o𒐪f aircraft-grade aluminum alloy for the main deck that's then wrapped inside a plastic frame. Coming from my smaller Vissles 84, the 44cm width of the board takes some getting used to. It's also pretty heavy at almost 900g but that just means it won't be sliding around your desk.
You'll immediately notice the MSI Clearcaps which boast a dual-layer desi🎃gn where the top quarter is black plastic and the rest is trans🌱lucent. Not only does this give you a sweet view of the red switch stems but it also enhances the Mystic Light RGB across the board.
You ge﷽t a ton of light passing through the base as well as through the key legends for a stunning light show that you can customize to your heart's desire in the MSI Center software or just use the onboard key combos to swap presets and adjust the brightness and speed. If for some reason you don't like these Clearcaps, MSI includes a handy keycap puller in the box so you can s🅘wap them out and replace them with some aftermarket ones.
On the top right of the board is perhaps my favorite volume dial design of any keyboard to date. The GK71 Sonic uses a dual-touch volume dial that sticks out of the top deck but also extends to a secondary dial that sticks out of the corner edge of the board. This unique design gives you two different ways to adjust the volume with ease, not to mention you can also press the top dial down to quickly mu♔te all audio.
Underneath the board are the two sideways opening feet for some additional height adjustment and an🐻 odd X-shape cable channels d🧸esigned to organize your mouse and headphone cables under the GK71 Sonic. I struggled to get my cables to stay put given how loose the channels are but your mileage may vary.
Elsewhere, MSI includes a surprဣisingly good wrist rest in the box. It uses memory foam and a soft pleather covering that makes it really comfortable and slip-resista💎nt. I wish it was magnetic because it's always shifting about and losing alignment with the board.
The new MSI Sonic Reds are something special. A 35g actuation force makes them absurdly fast, light and it took me several days to get used to the featherlite touch. The keys are very smooth and don't make too much noise compared to other types. The near-instantaneous response is fantastic for gaming, especially in fast-paced games like shooters which require quick inputs. Team this with one of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best gaming PCs or 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best gaming laptops and it'll be quite the combination.
Playing the newly released Shadow Warrior 3 where the main protagonist Lo Wang moves at incredible speed while running, gunning, weaving, and jumping, the GK71 Sonic never missed a beat. Likewise, performing fantastic featꦕs of parkour in zombie-ridden Dying Light 2 was also easy to quickly time and perform the multiple jumps and climbs with no issues. In Lost Ark, accessing the multitude of functions during intense combat was smooth and hassle-free.
Although I prefer using a Razer Wolverine V2 for my gaming because keyboards tend to exhaust my hands a lot, the GK71 Sonic was a lot less fatiguing after play. I attribute tha🎃t in great part to the light touch needed. However, these days I do far more typing and productivity work than gaming and my initial experience was more frustrating due ෴to the numerous accidental presses of adjacent keys. However, I've got a handle on it now; after adjusting to more of a light touch, I'm still not as confident as I would be when using a heavier switch like Cherry MX Browns. Something to bear in mind.
The MSI GK71 Sonic is a lovely gaming keyboard that will surely delight gamers who like to play fast-paced shooters and MOBA's. The new MSI Sonic Red switches are smooth, fast, and relatively quiet but typists might not enjoy the barely-there feel. The dedicated media keys and wealth of onboard commands to adjust lighting are grea🦋t and overall, for just over $100, the GK71 Sonic is a great mechanical gaming keyboard to have.

]]>Starting a drift can feel sluggish and blocky, almost as if you were better off driving straight. Don&ap𒉰os;t drift unless you have the space ahead of you, smaller drifts don't bring much help you much in making tight turns or gaining a speed boost. Drifting is still important, just make each one meaningful.
Boosting is the name of the game🎃 in kart racing and Team Sonic Racing is no different. Drifting and slingshotting are two of 𒐪the basic types of boosts you'll use while playing, why not combine them?
You can drift in a near straight line by 🦋pushing your wheels (the control stick) in the opposite direction from your drift. Combine that with a slingshot, riding in your teammates trail to gain a boost, and zip by your enemies.
Slingshots are incredibly useful. Every time you're near one of your teammates you should be alternating between giving and taking slingshots boosts from behind one another. The longer you stay glued to the golden trail your partners kart leaves beᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚhind, the further you'll go. Skip the shorter shots and go big—look for sparks on your kart while riding their trail to now how much boost you've built up. Once it stops sparking it's time to use the boost.
Side modes are probably the most chꦆallenging thing about Team Sonic Racing. Getting a platinum medal in ring challenges, bot busting, and target smashing is something many won't take the time to do.
The key in almost every one of these modes is to focus on getting extra time. Most of them, like the ring collecting or drifting challenge, give you🥂 a few more seconds of time for doing a certain move while driving.
That could be drifting while collecting rings or destroying eggbots. Whenever you have the chance to gain a few more seconds, even if it means lꦰosing out on s💟ome easy rings or targets, focus on that. More time will give you more chances to keep your streak alive.
Rings are a staple of the Sonic series and are incredibly frustrating in Team Sonic Racing. The golden loops are placed sparingly throughout each course and you'll collect a hefty amount over each of the three laps𒈔. However, if anything touches you though, including enemy items and obstacles, you'll lose everything in a single sweep.
Some missions do have side goals that require you to collect more rings, but others races ꦗignore rings altogether. Don't sweat it if you miss some going through. Th🎶ey come and go easily.
This is an odd de🌜sign choice. Using the normal confirmation button, X on PS4 in this case, actually skips past the cutscene when selecting a mission. You need to hit square to see cutscenes, including all their poor character art and voice acting, before starting a race.
While it might be easier to handle changing kart parts out in the garage, you can also do s🐷o before every race by selecting the loadout option after picking your character. The menu is smaller but it's useful for a quick last minute tune up.
You'll gain a hefty amount of credits as you work your way through the campaign. Take a break every time you earn 50 and exit out of the campaign, select the mod pod option in the main menu, and buy a few pods. Their outcome is random, like a toy machine, but every pod will hold eit✤her a cosmetic item, performance car part, or a bonus🐬 block. They cost 10 credits each so you'll be able to stock up soon after starting the story mode.
