Many drivers are interested in looking as dazzling as possible✤ when crossing the finish line in firꦛst position. Those players will be happy to learn that Mario Kart World has many unlockable outfits and costumes.
As far as we can tell, these uni෴que outfits and costumes are strictly limited to the main character roster, mea﷽ning you won’t be seeing Cow wearing a tux or anything like that for now. Anything is possible with post-launch updates though.
Acquir🌼ing the extra outfits and costumes is really easy and will happen naturally as you play the game, but there’s an ‘optimized’ way to rush through those unlockables if you want everything as soon as possible.
First, however, make sure that you’ve completed every cup once so you have every member of th♒e main cast ready to obtain their bling.
The key to unlocking outfits and costumes are Dash Food pickups. The easiest way to get them is visiting the Yoshi-owned fast food restaurants found all over the map (you can go through them either in Free Roam or during races), but you𓃲 can also find them in certain scenarios, such as crowded roads with lots of traffic.
In many cases, trucks have food pickups on top of them, tempting players to charge-jump on or ride over them. It 🧸must be noted these food pickups also provide speed boosts, so the🔯y’re useful in more than one way.
Depending on the regional food you obtain from the pickups, the character will get an entirely different outfit related to the region. Some characters, however, have fewer fits and will only get the aforementioned s🎉peed boosts from them.
Also, remember that NPC and creature characters can’t get extra costumes. Once you’ve unlocked an outfit, a💝 big notification will pop up at the bottom of the screen. You’ll then be able to select them as alternative versions of the characters in the selection screen.
You'll probably also want to know how to unlock new Mario Kart World characters, and who's who in the full 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World roster.
]]>There are 11 vehicles unlocked at the beginning. At the time of writing, we can also confirm there are 29 karts, motorbikes, and ATVs you need to unlock, raising the total to 40. We don’t rule out the possibility of secret unlockabꦰles tied to more obscure game conditions though, but we’ve yet to see any beyond these.
The good news is that vehicles are very easy to unlock, though it’ll take you a while to collect them all. You just need to earn coins in races, battles, and other game modes. In total, you’ll need 100 coins to obtain a new vehicle.
This amount doesn’t increase with each new unlock, so you just have to keep playing the game. It must be noted you can’t gain more than 20 coins per race, and you’ll also lose some each time you’re hit by an objeཧct, so there’s a bit of a grind involved... unless y🎶ou play a specific mode.
In the Battle Mode Coin Runners (which you can play solo or with friends), the objective is to collect as many coins as you can to win rounds. Th🌱at means the ‘20 coin’ limit doesn’t apply here, and you can bank them all the same. This might be the quickest way to work towards thꦏe unlockable vehicles.
Additionally, there are stacks of coins placed all over the open world in Free Roam for you to collect🤪 if you want to ൩unlock new Mario Kart World karts faster.
On top of those, the Coin Runners trick, and simply picking them up during races or from players who have been hit, there are three pick-up items that generate coins when used: the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:? Block, the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Coin Shell, and the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Coin (which gives you several coins).

]]>"Thank you for so many year🗹s of friendship and joy," Kelly wrote in an Instagram ode to the character. "I'm sad that it's over, I truly would have wanted to voice Peach and Toad forever. Nintendo let me know yesterday that they decided to recast these roles. I'm grateful that I got to do these voices for so many years. Peach and Toad are such strong and beautiful characters that I pray they live forever no matter who voices them. So much love."
Kelly first stepped into ▨Peach's pink heels in 2007 with the double whammy of Mario Party 8 and Mario Strikers Charged. She then continu💎ed to lend her voice to Peach, Baby Peach, Toad, Captain Toad, and sometimes Toadette in more than 70 projects spread across the last 17 years, seemingly ending with Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Talk about an iconic run.
Princess Peach isn't the only role who's been recast, either. Yesterday, we reported that Donkey Kong's long-time voice actor was also missing inﷺ the game's credits. And, of course, just a few years ago, the🌄 wondrous Charles Martinet gave his blessing to a new generation of actors to don Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi's caps.
We don't quite know exactly w🗹ho's voicing Peach or Donkey Kong in Mario Kart World and beyond, though. You see, Nintendo doesn't list voice actors next to their characters in the credits, so your guess is as good as mine until the Big N says so itself.

]]>You don't just have to take my word for it, as Twitter is currently packed with people using the mechanics in ways I could have🐲 never imagined. Just behold this Mario Kart streamer cutting a massivꦓe corner in the new Great? Block Ruins track by drift boosting into a palm tree that you'd think was just scenery on the side of the track, only to bounce off it and back onto the road. "OH YES, BABY," the streamer triumphantly yells, and I get it.

Similarly, one Twitter user shares a clip of them grinding along a rail, before launching themselves off, bouncing off a palm𒅌 tree (a recurring theme), and landing on an elevated surface that doesn't even look like you're even intended to driꦰve there. All this is done in an effort to skip a corner of the track, which they manage spectacularly, I might add. "MK World tricks might be the best to ever do it," they write.

Straight up wall riding is anothe🔯r way to shave some time off your laps in World, as another player demonstrates how it can allow you to reach otherwise unreachable areas for new strategies. There's clearly a lot to consider if you really want to aim for the best r﷽ecords you can.

It also shouldn't be ignored how t🌞he new grind rails and ropes can be used for other, far more nefarious purposes – firing green shells. Shells can now travel up grind rails, and if you channel some galaxy-brain-lev🍃el precision, you can watch your projectiles travel along them before hitting blissfully unaware racers after they slide back off again. I'm not sure if this player's demonstration was intentional or not, but it's glorious.

]]>Stickers are strictly visual customization items serving as one of the main collectibles of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World. They can be used to add a bit of flavor to your profile, karts, and scoreboard. Think of icons and player cards in modern 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Call of Duty titles, for example.
You get a fair number of stickers are available to use from the get-go. To apply them to your car and profile, select a character, get to the vehicle selection screen, and press the (+) button as indicated. Only one st🐻icker ca𝓀n be used at once, so you’ll likely want to showcase your biggest achievement tied to it.
If you want more though, Mario Kart World stickers are earned as rewards for completing challenges and activities across the many game modes. We haven’t come across any that feel too grindy, so playing the game normally should get you most of them. We have some recommendations/targ🉐ets though:
As far as we can tell, there are 25 stickers to collect, but reports are saying that some players have found extra hidden onesꦿ, so the definitive number is up in the air for now.

]]>Everyone had a jolly good time celebrating the fact that the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2's killer🉐 app would finally let us play as Cow - you know, the beloved moo-ers from Mario Kart Wii's Moo Moo Meadows track. Adora🅺ble.
But now that Mario Kart World is out in the wild, people are discovering that Cow will happily chomp down an entire beef burger (or what looks like a beef burger - this is all alleged,🐼 remember) while doing a cheery emote, no less. The absolute monster.
In case you haven't kept up to date, Mario Kart World lets you pick up fast food bags along various tracks that'll swap out y✨our character's outfit and give you a li♒ttle boost. Plates of sushi, kebabs, and, yes, burgers are all on the menu. See evidence of the cow cannibalism for yourself .
Of course, it's entirely possible that the burgers in Maꦺrio Kart World are vegan. (The beefy beef burgers in Super Nintendo World aren't encouraging, but still.) What about the playable Crab who eats sushi, though? Is all the food vegan? And we know from Super Mario Bros. Wonder that even plants in the Mushroom Kingdom can be sentient - scratch that, sapient. So even if the food is vegan, and cross-species consumption isn't technic🍨ally cannibalism, I'm still judging the entire roster for potentially eating plants that can smile and laugh and cheer you along like an old friend.
from
It shouldn't be a surprise to any long-time Nintendo fans, though. The cannibalism in Animal Crossing: New Horizons was un🌊disputable. We'll update this story as more evidence comes to light.

]]>Mario Kart World's big, new gimmick this time around is its wide open map. In Free Roam, you can explore off-road completely, but the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:sort-of open world also creeps into cla𒆙ssic races, too. Knockout Mode, for example, has 24 players race from one track to the☂ next with no interruptions whatsoever and is one of the most outrageously funny 10 minutes you can have in a game this year.
But fans aren't enjoying the nꦰew, in-between tracks half as much in regular online races. Here, you'll complete one track, wait in a free-roaming lobby while everyone votes on the next, and then head to the race along an intermission track – a long road that connects one track to the next.
The problem is that thes🌜e intermission tracks make up the bulk of online races – sometimes taking up four out of five checkpoints – and 🎀by the time you actually reach your destination, the one that everyone voted for, that is, you're only allowed to race through it once. Basically, say goodbye to three-lap tracks in online.
from
Fans have found one workaround, though. Simply vote 🐈for a "Random" track in between races – if a random one gets 🐻picked, then you'll be popped in to a classic three-lap race without needing to drive to it first.
In fairness,💯 some multi-biome intermission tracks are really wonderful, pushing you from a spaceport to a long stretch of wavy waters to, finally, a giant castle. It's just that some Mario Kart World players don't want them in every game mode.
"I've been playing World a decent amount this afternoon and I'm happy to say that in my opinion Nintendo have created some great tracks for this game," one Redditor . "BUT that's pointless because you only drive on them for 20% of the race and the other 80% is just a boring drag race between tracks. I mean most players in the lobbies are now voting fo✨r random because it guarantees a normal race without intermissions, but eventually everyone will do this and that just makes voting pointless." Hear, hear.

]]>Below, we'll cover the steps needed to play with friends onli🥃ne in Mario Kart World, including the best options and what you'll need to do to form rooms together, as well as if there🐟's an ability to bring friends into larger games with randos in multiplayer.
𓄧To join friends online in Mario Kart World, you 💜need to do the following:
It's relatively basic as room-based systems go: one of you creates a room/server, and shares the code so everybody can join, then just starts up some mat൩ches. You can also change your kart and character while in the free roam area from the pause menu.
Annoyingly, there is no way to join friends for larger online play in Mario Kart World at time of writing, meaning that players on two different Switch 2 consoles can't form a lobby that then fills in the remain𒉰ing spaces with random online players – instead, it will use bots to fill the gaps.
The only way to play with friends in larger multiplayer is by doing so locally, using two controllers on the same Switch before selecting the multiplayer option. It's possible that updates will chaꦍnge this in the future, but there's no guarantee right now.

© GamesRadar+. Not to be reproduced without permission.
]]>Despite all the new additions, Ma🐟rio Kart World’s control scheme is identical to that of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe; the new moves work with the drift/boost buttons (R/ZR) we have worn out over the years. It’s all about the context in which you press them, positioning, and direction of movement. It must be noted, however, 🍃that wall-driving/riding is a bit trickier to pull off than rail-grinding due to the initial step, but these are our best tips to jump on walls and gain an extra boost:
1. Use the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Feather item to launch yourself up in the air: The thing about wall-driving is that you need to gain altitude and land on them to start the process, so using the Feather item seems like the easiest way to do so. Of course, you have to randomly obtain it from the boxes, so this i🅺sn’t 100% ideal.
2. Use a ramp to boost yourself up: The jum🉐p-boosting mechanic hasn’t gone anywhere; you want to use every bump🐠 and ramp you come across to gain an extra boost. In some cases, these ramps are placed right before wall sections, which makes jumping on them easy-peasy. Another opportunity to watch out for.
3. Charge-jumping onto walls: You can also just do it yourself and get on walls with charged jumps, which you can achieve by hဣolding down and then releasing (R/ZR) without steering left or right (you don’t want to drift). Once you see the kart has charged up, let go and it’ll jump. The correct timing and position will get you up on the nearest wall.
Press (R/ZR) again to perform some tricks or bounce off with directional inputs (you can even jump between walls this way). L🍰ast but not least, remember you’ll build up a speed boost as long as you’re riding the wall... which is why we⛎ wanted to explain this mechanic in the first place.
]]>Don’t be afraid though. Mario Kart World’s controls remain as simple as ever, and the new moves are tied to the drift/boost buttons (R/ZR). By the way, both buttons work the same; just use whichever one feels more comfortable to yo🔯u. When it comes to how to grind rails in Mario Kart World, there are two options:
1. Simply riding rails that appear at the ground level: If you drive straight into rails that start (or go on for a while) at the base race track level, the character just rides it until it ends, an objecꦚt hits them, or you just decide to jump off.
2. Charge-jumping on to rails: Most of the time, you’ll want to get on rails after you’ve driven past their start points, and you can do so by charging a jump by holding down and releasing (R/ZR) withoutꦺ steering left or right (as that would cause the kart to drift instead). Once you notice the kart is charged, like when it drifts, let go and it’ll jump. With the right timing and position, you can jump onto rails this way (or dodge incoming attack items).
You can also perform tricks while grinding rails by pressing (R/ZR) again; this will make the character/kart jump and increase the mo🌳vement speed while grinding. It feels both great and useful, so give it a go as often as you can. This also allows you to jump off the rails if you use a side directional input during the trick.
]]>We’re thinking it’s a bit of both, actually. There’s a total of 50 playable racers in the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World roster, and this includes 24 main cast drivers and 26 NPC drivers/creatures. When you first start the game, only 17 main characters and 15 NPCs are unlocked, leaving a bunch of them out oꦬf t🧸he initial roster and set as rewards.
The good news is that unlocking the main Mario Kart World characters is quite easy and doesn’t take too long. In fact, unlocking the seven extra main drivers is a great way to learn each track and get used to the new mechanics, such as grinding rails and jumping on walls. Just head over to Grand Prix in the menu and complete each of the Course Cups, no matter the final 🌃result. Here’s who you can recruit by completing each of ꧟the seven cups available at the moment:
Every other main character – Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, Toad, Toadette, Koopa Troopa, Wario, Waluigi,🌳 Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, 🍸Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Baby Rosalina, Pauline, and Shy Guy – is unlocked from the get-go.
As for the NPC characters, you’ll need to be transformed by Kamek into that enemy. After being transformed once (the transformations seem random), the NPC or creature will be permanently unlocked in the roster of ♛drivers. You’ll get🍸 a big notification at the bottom of the screen during a race when it happens. Here’s the list of unlockable NPCs/creatures:
The NPCs/creatures unlocked by default are: Cheep Cheep, Cow, Dry Bones, Go🎃omba, Hammer Bro, Monty Mole, Nabbit, Para-Biddybud, Penguin, Piranha Plant, Snowman, Pokey, Sidestepper, Stingby, and Wi𝔍ggler.

Read on for the full Mario Kar𒈔t World character list, plus the key things to do to unlock the rest.
After unlocking all of the characters, you’ll end up with a grand total of 50 characters to race through the Mushroom Kingdom alone, with friends, or online. This excludes a large array of alternative c෴ostumes you can unlock for each of the main characters. The full list of main characters is as follows:
As for creature racers, you can race as any of the following♔ in Mario Kart World:
Here are the methods for unlocking every ꧙racer in Mario Kart Wor🅠ld.
As with any recent entry in the Mario Kart series, players will have the freedom to race across 32 different tracks, a mix of all-new courses and beloved classics from across the history of the franchise. These are split across eight cups: Mushroom, Flower, Star, Shell, Banana, Leaf, Lightning and the legendary Special Cup. Alongside the 17 characters available by default, seven racers are unlocked for completing each of the first seven cups in the game, regardless of your fina🍸l placement. Thankfully, it won’t be necessary for you to grind for first place in 150cc just to unlock these characters.
To unlock these💧 seven racers in 💛Mario Kart World, you must complete the following.
These characters each unlock individually of their costumes, which must be unlocked at random by consuming food from food stalls during races or when roaming the open world. For example in Grand Prix, after using this new costume for the remainder of that 🎀race you will return to your original costume for the rest of the cup, before being able to select it as a permanent option from the character select screen next time.
Beyond the beloved primary cast of characters expected in any Mario series title, Mario Kart World 𓄧includes an impressive roster of minor characters, including numerous beloved NPCs, enemies and various creatures from throughout the series. This list features characters who have been playable in prior Mario Kart titles such as the Hammer Bros, but also a huge array of characters making their playable series debut with this new title.
While these will be characters you will be forced to race against from the moment you step onto the racecourse, it won’t be possib꧂le to play as all of the𓆉m from the get-go. To unlock these racers, you must first be randomly transformed into one of these characters when an opponent uses a Kamek item. This is a random but rare item available in item boxes that will transform all enemies in front of the user into a random creature alongside other potentially-harmful effects.
If you are transformed into a creature that is not already unlocked, this character will be permanently unlocked for use in future races. Alongside those creatures unlocked by defaౠult, 🐬the following characters can be unlocked using this method:
Unlike main characters, creatures have no alternative costumes to unlock. This is a shame ♛- imagine Cow in a pretty little hat! - but at least this gives you a huge array of unusual characters to race with against friends or in online play.
]]>Alongside recognizable and iconic favorites from across the series, there are a number of new Mario Kart World items to contend with in your race for fi🀅rst place. Not only that, unlike prior titles in the series, items are automatically held behind the player, rather than requiring a player to hold the item button in order to do so. Here is a list of every Mario Kart World item and what they do, so y𝄹ou can take your first step from 24th place to 1st.
There are a tota✨l of 24 Mario ⛦Kart World items, including triple items, each with its own unique effects.
Bananas are an ever-present item of the Mario Kart series, one that can be placed directly behind you or thrown forwards. Once placed on the track, those who come into contact with these items will spi🅰n out and lose momentum. You can also obtain triple bananas, three bananas that spin around the player and can be used for the same results.
Another familiar item🀅 to Mario Kart fans, mushrooms act as speed boosts. Use this to gain a short burst of speed. Can also be collected as triple mushrooms, which allow you to activate the effect three times.
Everything’s better in gold, as they say! This item allows you to repeatedly boost for a set period of time from its first use, allowing you to shoot past the competition🍰.
Rather than a speed boost like typical mushrooms, the mega mushroom makes you bigger🍃! This item enlarges both you and the vehicle, it will make you slightly faster, but also allows you to squash nearby drivers, flattening them and slowing them down.
An offensive item present in the series since the beginning, these are non-homing offensive items🍌 that can be fired forwards or backwards. Any opponent that comes into contact with these shells will be damaged, losing coins and spinning out. Triple green shells work like triple bananas, initially spinni🐷ng around the player like a barrier until they are used.
Red shells are very similar to green s💮hells, except these items will hone in on enemies in front of the driver if fired forwards🍨. If fired backwards, these shells will function identically to green shells. You can also get triple red shells, allowing you to fire shells three times instead of once.
The bane of any player vying for the crown, this is a homing shell that, once thrown, flies through the center of the track towards the first-placed driver. Alongside damaging any driver it hits along the way, this blue shell will almost certainly damage the first place driver in their tracks unless they have a mushroom or can use 🦩a super horn to destroy the blue shell just before impact.
An all-new Mario Kart World item, this shell when fired continues forwards along the center of the course for a set distance, damaging drivers it comes into contact with while dropping coins to be collected. More coins means faster driving, so this can be a valuable item for increasing your speed to gain an eꦰdge in a race.
The iconic fire flower, in t🎐he context of Mario Kart World, allows the driver to throw fireballs forwards or backwards for a limited time, causing any driver it hits to spin out of control.
A new, colder variant of the Fire Flower, this will also make the driver to spin out of co﷽ntrol and willꦺ also freeze the driver, causing them to slightly skid when they resume driving.
The boomerang flower allows you to throw a boomerang forwards or backwards three times, damaging anyone🎶 it comes into contact with on the initial throw or return journey towards the player. The final throw will not return to the player and instead continue in the direction throඣwn for a limited distance before disappearing.
A♑ lifeline for strugg𝓡ling racers to put them back into contention, the bullet bill transforms the driver into the item for a short time, rocketing them forwards at high speed and sending any driver flying that it comes into contact with.
This iconic symbol of the Mario se𝓰ries, in the context of Mario Kart World, transforms into an explosive fired at your opposing drivers. Throw this item forwards or drop it behind you and, after a few seconds, it will explode. Anyone in the radius wi🐽ll spin out.
An all n🌸ew item for Mario Kart World, these function like the hammers used by Hammer Bros in Mario platformers. With three uses, throwing them forwards or backwards will leave behind four hammers in a row in the ground. Anyone running into these hammers will spin out.
This horn is not only one of the few ways to counter a blue shell, the item can be used at any time to fire a supersonic wave in a smal𓆏l radius around your character for a short time, damaging other racers and destroying any items that come too close.
The coin is a simple item, and if you’re out in front, will likely be one you will collect often from any item box you encounter. This item simply gives you two coins, helping to increase your top speꦦed.
The ? 🙈Block is perfect for anyone seeking a burst of speed to gain an edge over the leaders. This item will place a block above your head and give the user coins any time they press the item button for a limited time. It also provides themꦑ with a slight speed boost on each press.
A Boo, turned into an item! This item will turn the driver transparent for a short time, allowing them to pass through other drivers, shells and bananas without being impacted. It can also steal other items from drivers that you ဣcan then us𝄹e for yourself.
The blooper, when used, will spray black ink on any driver in front of the user, temporarily obscuring their vision. Particularly good to🀅 use against your friends in a tight race!
The feather in Mario Kart World allows the driver to jump high in the air to avoid items or, in some cases, jump to a new section of the course. In battle mode, this can also 𒁃be used to steal balloons if you can successfully use the feather to jump over another player.
The super star is oneཧ of the most powerful items in Mario Kart World, making its user temporarily invincible and giving them a burst of speed. If you drive into another racer while using this item, they’ll spin out.
The lightning, when used, will strike other drivers in front🐎 of you, shrinking them and slowing them down for a limited time while destroying any items they hold.
A new item in Mario Kart World and one of the most unusual, Kame🌳k will cause strange things to happen to drivers in front of the user. Other racers will be transformed into another creature racer for a limited time. Although this item has minimal impact on the racers themselves, if you are impacted by this item and transformed into a creature or minor character you have yet to unlock as a playable racer, you will unlock this racer to use in future races.
The final new item in Mario Kart World, collecting Dash Food in either free roam or Grand Prix races will give you a short burst of speed. If you are racing as a character that has unlockable costumes, eating this food will also transform the character into a random costume. Not only that, if you haven’t previously unloc💃ked this costume, this will permanently unlock the costume for you to choose from the character selection screen.
There are a lot of items in Mario Kart World, but only by understanding each one anℱd how they are used will you be able to take advantage of them and win the race. Happy racing!
]]>Fans on the have got their hands on Mario Kart World, and despite the fact you need to unlock the big ape, they have noticed that the in-game credits are missing any mention of Takashi Nagasako, who has voiced Donkey Kong since 2004's Mario Power Tennis all the way through to 2024's Super Mario Party Jamboree, as well as his dad / grandad (澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:it's unclear) Cranky Kong.
One thing Nintendo does in its games is only list the voice actors, as opposed to listing who they play, which is how Mick Wingert was before Kevin𓄧 Afghani confirmed it was him. So no one is listed with Donkey Kong next to their name, however, one name that is in the credits is , who just so happened to be the voice actor for Donkey Kong in the Japanese dub of The Super Mario Bros. Movie (also Daruk in The Legend of Zelda series).
The other big deal to come out of this is that Samantha Kelly – who has voiced Princess Peach, Toad and T🌌oadette since 2007 – is also However, once again since there are no character names listed, we don't actually have a great idea of who could take over, since Anya Taylor-Joy is unsurprisingly not listed in there.
that Princess Peach Sho💃wtime would have been her last time as Peach, which is ironic as the last Peach game – Super Princess Peach – marked Jen Taylor's fin𒐪al time in the role.
Presumably Donkey Kong will keep this new voice going into 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Donkey Kong Bananza. However, there is always a 🅘chance that Nagasako will reprise his role as Cranky Kong in the upcoming game, especially since he just did voice work for the Donkey Kong Country expansion at Universal Japan. Regardless, the last few years have been an end of an era for a ton of Mario voice actors.
]]>Long-time Xenoblade developer Monolith Soft announced as much in a new social media celebrating the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 launch game, where it explained the team helped to "develop the fields and character designs" forಞ the new racer.
As the name suggests, Mario Kart World is a kart racer set within a single, giant, interconnected map that lets you free roam outside of the confines of a trad🅺itional MK track. So who better to call than the people who got Xenoblade Chronicles to actually run on a Wii, of all things, or made Xenoblade Chronicles X's mech-riddled world look so darn good on a Wii U?
This isn't Monolith Soft's first support rodeo, either. Nintendo previously got the studio to help push out its first-ever in-house open-wꦑorld game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and its sequel Tears of the Kingdom, which are still some of the most impressive titles on the handheld-hybrid. It makes sense to get the studio to work on Mario's first open-world game as well, then.
Monolith's also chipped in on everything from Pikmin 3 and Animal Crossing to the Splatoon series. The studio's last solo work was this year's Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in 2022, so we should (hopefully) be seeing a new 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 game from the team at some point soon.
Still wondering if you should even pick up the new console. Check out our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintenﷺdo Switch 2 review in progress or find out 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:where to buy a Switch 2.
]]>In a recent episode of the Kit and Krysta Podcast (below), the former Nintendo Minute hosts (also, respectively, Nintendo of America's former director of social media marketing and original content and senior manager of creator relations and orig✱inal content) each share the average Metacritic score they think Mario Kart World will receive. Yang optimistically suggests 92, while Ellis aims a little lower, at a still very respectable score of 88.
Explaining his thoughts, Ellis points to the big 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:"drop the price" controversy that dominated conversations online following April's flurry of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 news🐟, when it was confirmed that Mario Kart World i꧙s $80.
"I think there are some things about this game that make it a bit of a target for reviews," he begins. "Like there aไre people who are still, like, big mad about the price of this game, and it doesn't take many of those people who have an outlet, who are writing a review on Met♛acritic, giving this like a six out of 10, that's going to take it down from a 92 to an 88. I think there are things about this game that are more lightning rod-ish than we've had in Mario Kart before."
He also adds that there are "pockets of coᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚmmunities that have frustrations with Nintendo right now, frustrations with the Switch 2," who might be looking for a way to take out their annoyances. "I just feel like that's aܫ phenomenon that's gonna happen," he says.
Yang agrees that "this has been a launch where not everything is positive. This has been a launch for Nintendo where there has been some outcries of negativ𓃲ity and, you know, certainly there's been some bad communication from Nintendo, some confusing things that have happened throughout this launch."
She still seems positive about the game herself, as she points out that from the hands-on impressions we💜've seen so far, it seems "really high quality, really beautiful," and "a really big, bold step for Mario Kart." Even so, she adds: "I wonder how the kind of rockiness, the negativity, this kind of still [underlying] feelings that people may have will kind of counteract the quality of the game. Because that could be the difference between […] this game being in the 90 range and for this game being in the 80s range."
For now, we'll just have to wait and see, but the time is nigh for us to dive into the game ꦚourselves. May your dispatch emails be timely and your pre-order deliveries swift, folks.

]]>澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Speaking to GamesRadar+ Kosuke Yabuki, the producer of Mario Kart World, was asked what the biggest challenge🦩s the team faced when turning Mario Kart into an open world were. Yabuki tells us, "We, on the development team side, we don't call this world an open world."
Why? He explains:🏅 "Because in our view we don't feel that the term open world is clear in terms of its definition."
Furthermore, Yabuki adds: "We do have this expansive world, a🌞nd we've placed therein the Mario Kart Circuit or the Bowser Castle, or the Choco Mountain, and tried to build a new Mario Kart."
So while theಌ team don't consider it to be a typical open world game, Yabuki continues: "Looking back on the entire h🧸istory of Mario Kart, we do feel that this is a major change." But he notes that despite the big changes, "we wanted to ensure that [at] its core the new Mario Kart would still retain the classic fun that you would gain from the Mario Kart franchise."
Yﷺabuki mentions that adjustments to courses had to be approached differently this time around, due to having to accommodate the full world as opposed to just the map itself.
"In this installation of Mario Kart, all of the roads are iﷺnterconnected so if you were to tweak a certain route to make it easier to run through, it would impact all the other roads and routes," he says. "So we were aware that they're all interconnected and we would need to be mindful of the overall balance."
Mario Kart World is definitely the biggest of all the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 launch games, but if you've been keeping up with all the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 news, you'll know we've still got some bangers on the way when it comes to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 games.
]]>"When we created this world from scratch, we re-reviewed all the elements that are included in this game, including the iconic banana skin," Yabuki says. "We actually did go through the exercise of asking ourselves, 'does it still make sense ꦛto include this item in Mario Kart World?'
"Another example is the green shell as well. Obviously, it's been there for time in memoriam i🍃n Mario Kart, but when we looked at it, we asked ourselves here, 'is it sufficient when you can just throw it over the course?' For example, the racers like Mario and such can ride over the guardrails. Should we not enable the shell to also slide over the rails?
"So in considering the implementation of each and every item, we've reviewed its specification and assessed whether they should rem♐ain the same as before or we should amend and add a different element to it."
As we share in our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World interview, the good news is that the pair of iconic items made the cut. It may be harder to hit someoꦡne with a green shell or a banana peel, but it makes the accomplishment all the more worth it, I reckon.
]]>In case you haven't noticed, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World is looking to shake the series up somewhat when it arrives on 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 next week – what with the open world and all. But one of the most shꦯoc🐻king omissions on Nintendo's part was the lack of a Mirror Mode, which has been present in almost every single Mario Kart game.
However, Nintendo may be giving us something even better this time around. While Mirror Mode simply flips the track horizontally, turning left turns into right turns and vice versa, Reverse mode would allow players to actually race the track from the end to the start. Reverse mode was origina♌lly a feature planned for Double Dash, that was later revived for the mobile game Mario Kart Tour, and it looks like it's finally going to make its console debut in Mario Kart World.
A user on noticed something strange in some of the new gameplay footage seen in Japanese commercials for the game. Notably that there's a clip of Bowser Jr racing on the new Mario Bros. Circuit track, but compared to footage seen in the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:recent Nintendo Treehouse streams, it's clearly in reverse (and as , the minimap is flipped).
Although, what players are trying to figure out is if this will be a dedicated Reverse Cup mode (like the scrapped Double Dash 🉐variant) or if this is just what ha﷽ppens when you race between Crown City and Mario Bros. Circuit in Vs mode. that you can see characters cross over the starting line and appear on the minimap in the footage, implying that it's following one of the game's new intermission tracks (in which you drive from one track to another during grand prix mode).
Regardless, it looks like Nintendo may be throwing in variants of each map to keep things fresh in Mario Kart World, so you likely won't be able to get too comfortable. But ꦗthe real question is when is Nintendo bringing back 200cc mode for the real sickos?
]]>We all know Nintendo games can ruin friendships. To this day, I'll never forgive myself for throwing a shoe at my best friend in 2011 because he hit me with like three blue turtle shells in a row or something. That said, it's never been as explicitly clear as it is now that Nintendo likes testing friendships. Friendshiಞps aren't a hapless casualty of party game war; they're targets for 🔯Nintendo to snipe like kart racers without bananas protecting their behinds.
I know this because Nintendo said as much: par𝓡t of the fun of the Switch 2's GameChat feature is seeing your friends' faces in real time as you ruin their day in Mario Kart World.
"In previous Mario Kart games, you could see your opponent🃏s' names above their vehicle, but if you're using a camera for GameChat, they can see your face in real time," said programming director Kenta Sato. "If everyone uses a camera, it makes it easier to 𝐆see who's playing as each character, but it's also fun to see the other person's expression when you hit them with an item."
Art director Masaa🌳ki Ishikawa added, "that look of mild despair," laughing at all of our future pain.
Joking aside, I genuinely hadn't thought of the comedic potential of playing games like Mario Kart World using GameChat. I don't know if I agree with "mild despair" being the extent of what I'll put on display after being hit by another blue turtle shell seconds from the finish line, but I can't wait to see my frien💟ds' faces when I give 'em a taste of their own mediꩲcine.
Here are all of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 games we know about.
]]>In a new Ask the Developers , graphic artist Masaaki Ishikawa says: "The designers caꦺme up with various ideas, thinking that if the theme was a vast world, they could show things other than racing."
One of these other things was eating food, which, 🌱according to Mario Kart producer Kosuke Yabuki, came up "early i🍨n development."
Shintaro Jikumaru, a planner, adds: "If you're travelling through a vast and diverse world, you can’t leave out the local food that's unique to each place." It's a lot of work, though. "We did consider removing the food feature at one point,ꩵ" Jikumaru says. "Incorporating it into the game means adding not only the food itself, but also the stores that sell it and the staff that work there, which would mean even mo♌re content."
This has led to the inclusion of Yoshi's, a chain of drive-thrus. "A Yoshi's drive-thru located in a volcanic region would look like a volcano and sell piping-hot ✤soup inspired by Bowser," laughs Ishikawa.
The costumes came about as a result of the food. "As we were m🏅aking these various concepts, Yabuki-san comes marching up to me and says, 'When Mario eats something, he transform💯s,'" remembers Jikumaru. "He sounded pretty serious about it."
So, rather than adding more shops and buildings, the devs decided to make it so that the different foods you could eat would unlock new outfits. But this alsཧo led to ඣsome questions that even the Nintendo staff didn't know the answer to.
Yabuki says, "Then, the question came up: 'Does🍰 Mario, in fact, eat mushrooms?'" Jikumaru adds, "in th🍃e midst of development, we went up to [Takashi] Tezuka-san [a producer on the 2D Mario games,] and asked him to confirm, 'Is Mario actually eating those mushrooms?'"
Tezuka confirmed that yes, Mario does, in fact, eat the muꦬshrooms. So, when the Switch 2 comes out June 5 and you're exploring, eating, and getting new costumes, th⛦ink about all the effort and research that went into adding the feature.
In the meantime, check out all of the other 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 launch games you'll be able to play in a couple of weeks.
]]>Before we knew what the next Mario Kart would be properly called, plenty settled on MK9 for ease more than anything, though it did 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:kick off a debate over whether that's what it should be called – does the existence☂ of Mario Kart Tour mean we should have gone tꩵo 10?
It ultimately mattered little as Nintendoꦺ went with Mario Kart World anyway, but if you really want to know the answer, producer Kosuke Yabuki confirms Mario Kꦜart 9 would have been right, and the final distinction comes down to ambition.
In N𒅌intendo's latest round of '' interviews, Yakubi was asked if it was always the plan to call it Mario Kart World rather than MK9.
"If the idea had just 💙been to add more courses, then I think we would’ve called it Mario Kart 9," he replies. "But, that wasn't our ꦗapproach this time. We wanted to take the series to the next level.
"So, we decided to drop the numbering this time and go with a completely new title, Mario Kart World. So, we'd already added 'Mario Kart World' to the concept art from the early stages of developme༒nt."
Funnily enough, the exact same thing happened with Monster Hunter World, and Capcom🅘 has expressed similar sentiments ab𝄹out scope.
The developers also reveal that making Mario Kart World was a rather lengthy endeavor. Mario Kart World started development as an🧜 OG Switch 🌠game in 2017, but Nintendo ultimately went open-world because developers believe MK 8 Del🐈uxe perfected "t🏅he formula that we'd been following" for 25 years.
]]>It's been over a decade since Ubisoft casually released one of the greatest platformers ever made in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Rayman Legends and then decided to do nothing substantial with the character since. A couple of mobile games and an appearance in the Netflix series Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix later, Rayman showed a spark of hope by appearing in the DLC for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope in 2023.
But it looks like that DLC was a bit of a trial run, as Ubisoft has now put up looking for staff to work on "a prestigious AAA title for the Rayman brand." Notably, the game design roles are for Ubisoft💟 Milan – who developed the Mario + Rabbids games – while the lighting and FX artist roles are at Rayman's usual home of Ubisoft Montpellier.
Outside of its existence, the job descriptions don't reveal much about the Rayman project. Although it's interesting to note that one of the roles is for a 3D gameplay animator, which could hint at the series going back to being a 3D platformer for the first time since 2003's Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. Although it could just as easily be a 2.5D platformer akin to Ubisoft Montpellier's latest game, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Or even a continuation of the Mario +🦄 Rabbids seriಌes, ditching Mario for Ubisoft's own mascot.
Regardless, it's nice to see that Rayman could be coming back, considering Origins and Legends are far and away better than anything the publisher has released in the time since, in my eyes.
After several rough years, Ubisoft says "the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows was a defining moment" and its Tencent deal to basically make Ubisoft 2 is coming along.
Mario Kart's always been a series that appeals to pretty much everyone, from traditionally non-gamers who are just there to maybe ride a Bullet Bill for a short 'n' sweet time to sweaty pros prepared to whip their siblings with the Wii mote in order to secure a first place finish. (I'm not talking from personal experience, I swear.)
But that wide appeal doesn't come naturally. In a new Ask the Developer , senior team members describe how they'd ensure that the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 game was accessible to people of all skill levels.
"I've been working on the Mario Kart franchise for a long time, so I th🌠ink I've got a good sense for how advanced players think," Jikumaru explains. "But newcomers to the series or those less familiar with 𒁃video games might get stuck in places that we as developers didn't expect. So, when designing gameplay in any game, not just this game, it's important to have less experienced players test it out."
Nintendo went as far as to brand some members of the team ♍as "favorites," Jikumaru continued with a laugh. "We handed the game to a dღeveloper with just the right degree of unfamiliarity and said, 'Off you go!' We had them play next to us, and we were like, 'Oh, so you don't get that. Interesting!'"
Els🦋ewhere in the blog, the team also talked about adding lots of recognisable, eye-catching landmarks across the series' first ever open-world map to help guide players to key locations. And, of course, you'll also have your usual signs and arrows and road markers pointing you in the right direction during a൩ race.
]]>, Donkey Kong (and Zelda, Mario, Pikmin, the list goes on) creator Shigeru Miyamoto was asked about the new design, and revealed just why it was time for Rare's DK to move over. "When w𓄧e were talking about trying to create new versions, evolving Donkey Kong, we created the game called Jungle Beat," Miyamoto explained, adding, "With the technology that was available at the time, we were able to make Donkey Kong more exp🔯ressive."
However, DK's expressions were clearly not quite cartoonish enough, as Miyamoto said, "going back to the design that Rare came up with, we reevaluated; what can we do with the design to make it more expressive? And then when it comes to the movie, we decided to move forward with this new generation Donkey Kong 🔯design."
Expressiveness seems to be a high priority for Donkey Kong at Nintendo, as Masahiro Sakurai used the character's segment in the to show off how expressive the new fighters were. Plus, the person behind his Rare redesign – Kevin Bayliss – has 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:been a vocal supporter of the new design, saying "His face is way more expressive now – it's really ace!"
Even if he isn't confirmed for Mario Kart World or Donkey Kong Bananza yet, Nintendo 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:has also redesigned Diddy Kong, on the sly.
Mario Kart World producer Kosuke Yabuki said as much in a recent Ask The Developer , where he revealed the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 game began protꦰotyping in March 2017 - the same month that the OG Switch came out, and a couple 💧of months before Mario Kart 8 Deluxe drifted onto store shelves.
"We were thinking about what to do for the next Mario Kart game even during the development of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and we began prototyping in March 2017," he says. "It was at the end of that year when we officially started work on it as a project. I felt that in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, we were able to perfect theꦏ formula th✤at we'd been following in the series up to that point, where players race on individual courses." Hence, the decision to create "a world map like this."
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and its tight, near-sublime tracks might have encouraged Nintendo to pursue a different style of racing, but what's going o🎀n with that eight-year gap between games? Mario Kart World was in development for essential꧂ly the OG Switch's entire life cycle, after all.
Well, Mario Kart World was actually going to be a base Switch game at first. However, developers "often worried" about whether they'd be able to stuff everything they wanted into the game's "vast world" and still have it run at a stable 60 fps, to Kenta Sato, so the team simply decided to turn it into a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 launch game once t💧hey had a better undersꦐtanding of what the console was capable of.
"Once we decided to release this game on Switch 2, we eওxpected our worries to evaporate all at once," Sato added.
]]>Despite being almost 30 years old, Super Mario 64 still has one of the most enduring fan bases of any game. It's one of the澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询: biggest speedrunning games of all time, and despite being one of the first ever made, I'd argue it's still the best 3D platformer ever made (or at least the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Mario game). Fans are still so involved with it that this past week, they 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:discovered a hidden sound effect in the game that requires the console to be on🎐 for 14 months straight.
And as it turns out, some fans love Mario 64 so much that they're porting other games into it, as seen by Mario 64 hacker Arthurtilly, who has ported Minecraft to the game with the building and world generation system ripped straight from it. Arthurtilly posts a video t🍌o their showing it off, saying, "This is a showcase of a Minecraft voxel engine I developed completely within the SM64 engine and can run on a real Nintendo 64 console. It uses multithreading to be able to seamlessly generate terrain and meshes over multiple frames without causing any lag."
In the video, we can see 64-bit Mario running around a land made up of squares, with the ability to destroy and place blocks at the pusꦬh of a button (it's instant, much like in creative mode). But alongside that, the video shows off multiple biomes based on the tilesets of the original game, including the very cute detail that the music changes depending on the biome (so, Bob-Omb Battlefield for grass, Dire Dire Docks for underwater, and so on). Currently, Mario seems toꦯ be only able to drop block and slab pieces, so the full breadth of Minecraft isn't available yet, but there's still enough to get creative with.
However, what mayꩵ seem like a cool tech demo is actually a full-blown project for Arthurtilly, who says in the video's description that they are working on more features like flowing water and lava, a proper lighting system with a day/night cycle, terrain features such as trees and vegetation "to make the world more lively," and even an inventory system. At the moment, Arthurtilly hasn't released the mod, but it's certainly something to keep your eyes on.
If you ask me, Mario 64 is the cream of the crop, but you should check out our list of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best N64 games of all time to see where it lands.
]]>Each level completed in the original Super Mario Bros. gives💞 you a bunch of points for the amount of time you have left on the board, so how do you beat the whole game with zero points? By scoring so many points that the scoreboard wraps around to 000000 upon the final Bowser kill.
Working since January 2024, a group has been building a tool-assisted speedrun, or TAS, to score exactly 10,000,000 points over the course of the game, reaching the ending with 000000 points displayed as efficiently as possible. The tricks required to do it are far too precise for human handsꦇ, so the run's been put together as a pre-programmed series of precise inputs.
You can see it in full below, and a – one of the devs of the TAS, though he downplays his role in its creation – offers a lot more detail on how it was put together. The run "does things that have never been done before in this 40-year-old game," Kosmic explains.💟 "We love making new things happen."
Kosmic says it was "really hard to calculate how to optimize this, because you'll see a lot of levels are finishin🦩g with like 20 left on the timer or something. We need to get enough points, but we don't need to use all of the time availab🐭le to get points. So it's like figuring out exactly the right amount of points to get on each level."
Core to the run is "one of the most famous tricks in Mario": the 1-Up exploit where you repeatedly kick a Koopa shell on the edge of a staircase. You get an escalating number of points for each stomp, eventually culminating in infinite extra lives. That trick is easy enough to execute in real time, but the problem is that when 𝓀the 1-Ups start, you stop getting extra points.
In the TAS, however, Mario keeps precisely landing to interrupt the jump combo, r🎃estarting it over and over again to get points with no superfluous 1-Ups. The extra po♛int of efficiency is that Mario is simultaneously killing Spinies thrown by a nearby Lakitu to rack up points even faster.
"This is the fastest known way to build points in Super Mario Bros., right here," Kosmic explains. "It's because the Koopa shell's next to a wall, and there's a one-block gap in the floor – it's just the perfect set of con🌼ditions to land as soon as possible and kick as soon as possible."
HappyLee, another dev of the TAS, said during the stream that "this project started in January 2024," and in a noted that it "took hundreds of hours to make. It's not 𝕴easy to do something new to a 40-year-old game." Clearly, the Mario speedrunning community is never going to shy away from a challenge🍒.
]]>Not only has Donkey Kong's pal (nephew? Again, deepest lore) not shown up in any trailers for Bananza; he's also been nowhere to be seen on Nintendo 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 with 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World – the game that has the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:cow and a dead fish as playable characters – not featuring him.
But a spark of hope was felt within the Donkey Kong community y🙈esterday, as a user on Reddit spotted that Nintendo updated a thumbnail on the OG Switch's Nintendo News app featuring Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. Where the original thumbnail used their designs that have been present since Rare redesigned DK and created Diddy in 1994, the update changed it to that new DK we've seen in Bananza as well as a brand new rende🀅r showing a fresh Diddy Kong design.
from
Diddy's redesign🐻 isn't quite as drastic as Donkey Kong's, as he still looks the same size, has his potbelly, and wears his t-shirt and hat. However, the Rare Donkey Kong characters' retractable teeth are gone, with Diddy's teeth now being visible, and he now has a space between his eyes, resulting in a more expressive design.
Also of note is he no longer seems to have the 🌳Nintendo l🍰ogo on his hat, which takes away the existential implication that Diddy is aware of his creator.
Diddy's new design looks more in-line with his cameo in The Super Mario B꧟ros. Movie, which gives us a clue of what Dixie and Chunky ♔Kong may look like in this new style too, should they make a return to the series.
Naturally fans are excited about this new design, as not only does it mean Diddy hasn't been forgotten, but it brings up the possibility that Diddy could show up in Bananza. Among the fans of this design are Kevin Bayliss, the former Rare designer who was responsible for the original Donkey Kong redesign (who has been outspoken about 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:his love of his new design), as well as the💧 creation of Diddy Kong 𒈔to round out the D.K. Crew.
, saying, "Thank you Nintendo for improving your Didd🔥y Ko♉ng character, and being sympathetic towards my original design. They both now look better than ever. I can now rest in peace."
He adds: "All he needs now is a racetrack, and a massive Pig in a purple cape to challenge him to a race!" in reference to꧂ the N64 classic, Diddy Kong Racing, which we can only hope comes back some day.
]]>YouTuber MarioPower55 posted a video titled that compiles some of the currently available Mario Kart Wii modes based on the upcomi♏ng Nintendo Switch 2 racer.
Among the new tracks are Crown Cit❀y, Mario Bros. Circuit, DK Spaceport, and eve꧒n World's interpretation of classic tracks like DS Airship Fortress and 3DS Wario Shipyard.
These stages not only have the map layouts ported over, but they also include approximated recreations of the music associated with t𒁏hem.
These p♛orted tracks were built by🔴 modders who presumably cross-referenced footage of the game from the recent Nintendo Treehouse streams, or from Nintendo Switch 2 Hands-On events.
Of course, they are nowhere near as detailed as the ones we've gotten glimpses of in the actual 🐻Mario Kart World; plus, the new mechanics of the Switch 2 ti🐓tle, like wall jumping and grinding, haven't been ported to the Wii, so it's not at all the same experience.
However, fans' efforts here are undeniably impressive, and they're just more reasons why the Nintendo fan mod community is o🎉ne of the best… because there's these mods, and the one that adds
]]>This bugꦛ is one of many discovered by Kaze Emanuar, who has been hacking Mario 64 and reporting his findings about the game's inner workings for years. In a new video, he breaks down a number of bugs related to various in-game timers, and the absolutely absurd lengths you'd need to go to in order to trigger them.
As one example, the star select screen when you enter a course has a brief timer that prevents you from making you⛦r selection until 12 frames have gone by. "Funnily enough, we know mostly which parts of Mario 64 were wr♋itten by which programmer," Kaze explains. "The star select was most likely written by a different guy than the actual programmers and it seems that this man did not anticipate anyone would be as annoying as I am being right now."
That t𝓀imer actually continues running, secretly and uncapped, for the duration you're on the select screen. If you stay on that screen for over two years, the timer "catastrophically overflows," turning back to the biggest possible negative number, around -2 billion, preventing you from selecting a star until it once again c🌸ounts upward and reaches a count of 12 frames. That would leave you stuck on this screen for another two years.
While many of these types of overflow bugs would never be triggered in the course of normal gameplay, Nintendo broadly made efforts to prevent them in most instances. ⛎Most enemies, for example, are governed by a timer that helps determine the actions that enemy can take, and there's a hard cap implemented to prevent that timer from overflowing.
Most enemies and objects have behaviors that reset their internal timers, so few of them ever hit the timer cap – but one exception is Sushi the shark in the Dire, Dire Docks course. Sushi plays a subtle swimming sound effect every 16 frames in perpetuity according to that timer. Since the sound repeats so frequently, you'll♏ never actually hear it in full in normal gameplay.
But if you wait around for 14 months – long enough for the timer to reach its maximum – the sound will st🔯op playing. After that year-plus wait yo✨u'll hear the full sound effect play exactly once before Sushi goes silent.
"Doing this is actually the only way to hear the full sound effect," Kaze explains. "So we have kind of unlocked a secret sound effect no one else has hea𝐆rd before in Mario 64, which I think is pretty neat."
Kaze goes into much greater technical detail on how these bugs, plus a few mo꧅re, all work in the video above, and if you're interested I'd strongly recommend giving it a watch. Mario 64 might be nearly 30 years old, but the community is proving once again that it's got a lot of life left.
Many of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best N64 games are continuing to inspire some of the best communities in gaming.
]]>Th꧙e Gex Trilogy launches digitally in June, complete with modernized analog controls and support for widescreen visuals. The package looks pretty well put-together, and runs on the Limited Run Games Carbon Engine, which has powered some solid remasters in the past.
It's just, you know... the Ge🌊x of it all.🧜 The original, 2D title got mediocre reviews in the 6-7 range, and while the first 3D entry, Enter the Gecko, fared decently with scores around 8 out of 10, the final piece of the trilogy, Deep Cover Gecko, was seen as pretty middling.
Yet it🌟 seems there's enough nostalgia for Gex out there in order to justify a , which comes complete with a 36" inflatable Gex doll and a 🔴7" Gex statue alongside other goodies, all packaged up in a box illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano, who you probably know best for the absolutely he's created over the years.
"You might know him from his work on a lesser known Square Enix franchise," 🐼the devs saꦺy in a , "so it made sense to finally give him the opportunity to illustrate their best one – GEX!" Well, at least they've got a sense of humor about the whole thing.
Listen, I love old games, perhaps even especially the mediocre and bad ones, but I find myself constantly b🌞ewildered by the remasters we're getting these days. But hey, if everything from Glover to Bubsy 3D can get a modern por𝕴t, I guess we can at least count Gex as a step up from those games. I'm just having trouble imagining who's willing to pay $200 for it.
Sorry, Gex fans, he's not counted in our list of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best PS1 games.
]]>The upcoming 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive was spotted by a user () sitting in the , next to the very-obviously-multiplayer 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World🅺 and the mouthful that is "Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV." Meanwhile, the actual lists the players as "TBD."
While it gives no indication of what this multiplayer mode could be, it does help strengthen one of the biggest mysteries about the game. Nintendo has remained quiet about who is developing Donkey Kong Bananza, but the main guess is 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo EPD Tokyo, which has developed every 3D Mario game since Galaxy with pr🧸oducer Yoshiaki Koizumi.
One detail about the console 3D Mario games created within that time is that they all feature some form of multiplayer mode. The Galaxy games allowed the second player to use a pointer to collect and fire star bits, Odyssey let another player control Cappy independently of Mario, and Bowser's Fury let a second player take the role of Bowser Jr. Considering we've seen Donkey Kong with a purple rock companion (who already had 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:an interesting detail leak about them), there's a chance it could take on the🐷 role of the multiplayer helper seen in previous games.
Of course, there's also the possibility that Ninte🎃ndo has somehow hidden a super-elaborate, fully-blown co-op mode where two Donkey Kongs (or Diddy, who has yet to be seen in the new game) can travel the world together. But I think it's best to be realistic about these sorts of things.
]]>During the reveal trailer for the game during the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, 2Chrispy noticed that some of its signs had some banana-based glyphs, and after poring through the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Treehouse, gameplay clips, and the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Today app, they managed to put some things together.
Starting with the Chip Exchange sign, which features a big banana chip and these glyphs, 2Chrispy was able t🌃o figure out the word "exchange" (two vowels!).
They then used the letters to cross-reference other signs in the game. ဣAnd while som🐻e of these translations were built from guesses using words with the identifiable letters, so far, it's making total sense.
At the end of their almost month-long endeavor, and just under two months away from Donkey Kong Bananza's July 17 release date, 2Chrispy managed to narrow down most of the banana alphabet (or Bananabet, as theღy call it), with only five letters to go for a complete set (B, J, Q, V, and Z, to be e🗹xact).
Of course, there's always the chance Nintendo reveals some more signs and letters ahead of Bananza's release, so there's still a chance for the full alphabet to be translated before launch.
If not, it'll be sorted at launch, and we can all have the cha⭕nce to read banana language.
Donkey Kong isn't the only title gracing the Switch 2 this year; be sure to check out our list of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 games.
]]>With Naughty Dog busy with The Last of Us, The Last of Us 2, The Last of Us again, The Last of Us 2 ౠagain, and even some other games when it's not re-releasing at least one of those – I'm being mean, but sci-fi adventure 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet does sound fun and, mercifuꦕlly, less depressing – AAA developer Weston Mitchell of Obsidian and his wife Jessica Mitchell are drawing on "Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Kingdom He🔯arts, and many more" in GearGrit. But, to my eyes, especially Jak 2.
"The planet is on its way to destruction, and those responsible are about to leave it all behind," begins a trailer that hits just a little too close to home as our own planet's billionaires and politicians push baby seals into vats𓆏 of oil while simultaneousཧly pushing 90 years old.
GearGrit itself, as I learned in , is a throwback to a much happier, simpler time. So far at least, it's a 3D action-platformer with the cityscape grunge of Jak 2, the stretchiness of Sly Cooper, and the punchy guns of Ratchet & Clank. It's like someone threw my PS2 childhood into a blender and dropped a goblin girl named Tansy into the mix. "This project was born for love of Early 2000s PS2 games and we wear our inspira🉐tions proudly!" the Kickstarter declarꦰes.
Melee combat is more involved than with Ratchet's wrench swinging. Out of the box, GearGrit gives you a multi-hit punch combo, a spinning attack, special attacks fueled by energy, and two flavors of dropkicks. Some attacks break enemy armor while others can be used as platforming tricks to reach ledges or extend jumps. Your guns mainly exist to separate enemies from their organs, and I like the Ratchet-esque shotgun so far. (Any Magmaಌ Cannon enjoyers?)
In the demo, I'd say there's something ever so slightly off with the momentum or gravity of the main character, but 🌄GearGrit already feels good in motion. The first time I long jumped into a ninja kick off the ground and used the mid-air spiral to reach a ledge, I was sold. You'll collect bolts, heal with floating soda, clear time trials, master vehicle minigames – I'm home, folks. This is as PS2 as it gets without✱ an actual PS2.
GearGrit has a June 2025 delivery date on Kickstarter but no release date on Steam, and this fund is specifically for the ♔ne﷽xt zone of the world, so it sounds to me like it's still a way out.
The devs say they've done the whole thing indie and self-funded so far, "so if funded, the game's release date could come sooner 💜than anticipated!" Lucky for them, it's already passed its modest $25,000 goal with 27 days l♕eft in the campaign, so we're approaching stretch goal territory like a hair salon and New Game++.
Iron🔥ically, GearGrit is curr🎶ently only planned for Steam. The team says "we might consider publishers for consoles if that door ever opens for us."
]]>Before opening Double Fine Productions, Schafer was widely known for a bunch of LucasArts point-and-click adventure games, such as Full Throttle and Grim Fandango, but he decided t𒆙o instead make a third-person, fully-3D platformer after playing Super Mario 64, naturally.
"I remember that [Mario 64] was the first one where I just, like, pushed the joystick in the direction I wanted to go and the character ran that way, and I was like: 'Wait a second,'" the d🔴irector recalled in a new vlog.
"And then, at the time, I played a lot of games like Final Fantasy 7," he added. "Maybe later [The Legend of Zelda] Ocarina of Time. These games where you just drove the character directly and ran around. And you could still do things and have a story and solves puzzles and stuff, but I 🐼think that was the moment where I was like, 'I don't think I want to make a point-and-click adventure anymore. I think I want to make a console game. I want to make a character-driven console game that is just really immediate and has more action, but, you know, still has a lot of narrative.'"
⛎Those early 3D console games were "a ꦕbig turning point" for Tim Schafer to "leave behind what I'd been doing for the last 10 years and try something new."
You'd be hard-pressed to⭕ find games that aren't in some way influenced by Mario or Zelda or Final Fantasy, but the Psychonauts team looked in more niche corners too. Schafer said Psychonauts also had "some actual mechanics" from criminally overlooked Dreamcast JRPG Skies of Arcadia, specifically with the resource that you dig up from under the ground.
Everything else from horror romp The Suffering and Disney's Nightmare Before Christmas to art work from Joe Sorren and a Haruki Murakami novel also influenced Schafer to some degree. Raz's daddy issues specifically may have sprouted from a small scene in 1984's Dreamscape, while his dedicatio𒉰n to being the best mind-fixer possible came from Jet 🐽Li's "really serious" on-screen son in The New Legend of Shaolin, played by Mo Tse. You can check out the full list above for the specifics, though, it's all interesting stuff.
What's next for Double Fine? No one knows yet, but the team said it's working on stuff that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:"could ne𝔍ver g♔et accepted by a publisher." And, no, that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:doe🍎sn't incl🔯ude a Banjo-Kazooie revival.

]]>Turns out that I was absolutely not the only one to have this extremely clever, original realization. The ever-suffering Silksong subreddit is awash with the sentim🐼ent, with posts like and which is somehow distinct from the previous post with the exact same title.
Silksong has been confirmed for launch in 2025, and it's looking increasingly likely that it'll actually make that release window, what with its impending 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:appearance at an Australian museum and all. Meanwhile, we now know for certain that GTA 6 won't be out this year.
Memes about the many things we've gotten before GTA 6 have been going for years, shared by everyone from forum posters to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:WWE superstar John Cena. But given how legendary the pain of the Holജlow Knight fandom has become in recent years, juxtaposed with the GTA community's long, re-release filled wait since GTA 5, perhaps this is the gag's ultimate form.

]]>The Switch has perhaps embraced that ideal more than nearly any Nintendo console to date, with the company's trademark series flourishing in new and unexpected ways. But no game captures that core ideal of Nintendo's "fun to play" more than 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Super Mario Odyssey – a road-tripping platformer that plasters a smile on your face from start to finish. It's an encapsulation of the pure ingenuity and creativity Mario has become known for, and eight years later, it's not just one of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Switch games, but one of the𓄧 best games Nintendo has ever made.
Some of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Mario games have an extremely unified theme or setting – think the island paradise of Delfino in Super Mario Sunshine, or the enchanting paintings of Super Mario 64. Odyssey doesn't have as cohesive a setting or theme, but iꦦnstead uses a continent-hopping story in pursuit of something much bigger.
Odyssey is the inverse of your typical 3D Mario, which builds the wor𒆙ld and platforming experience around a central mechanic. For example, everything about the world of Mario Sunshine is built to be solved with💞 the FLUDD – both platforming and puzzles.
Odyssey instead pushes Mario into a sandbox experience, where strong core controls and mechanics allow for a variety of ways to advance through the game – and the unique gimmicks of each zone area are then layered on top. This means that Odyssey constantly has a sense of bright-eyed wonder,𒉰 introducing wild new ideas that allow for a dee🅠per level of fun through variety.
But it all starts with those core foundations, and how integrally the addition of Cappy changed the way you approach a Mario game. You can still do all the jumps, spins, and wahoos Mario is known for – but Cappy gives you a fascinating extra layer. Cappy integrally changes the way you platform and move through the world💮 of Mario. You can throw Cappy and use him as a platform to bypass normal jumps, he can bring back coins and items back like a boomerang, or even hit objects.
This provides a wealth of new ways to move Mario – you can skip over entire platforming sections b🙈y 💜simply using Cappy, and that throw mechanic is tremendously useful for the game's focus on exploration. The core gameplay of Odyssey already feels fantastic to use, but it becomes even richer when you layer in the Capture mechanic, which lets Mario transform into a variety of objects and enemies.
There's a real sense of discovery in Capture, as each area brings some kind of new twist that makes you once again rethink how you interact with the world. You turn into a Bullet Bill and suddenly gain the power of flight, but need to be careful not to crash. Turning into a tank lets Mario fire off rockets, suddenly turning intꦿo a miniature vehicular combat game. Or you can even turn into a slab of meat to attract a giant bird to pick you up.
There are 52 total transformations across the game, each an amusing wrinkle to the core formula. You never feel like you𓃲're doing the same thing in Odyssey, even𒀰 though it's all platforming – and that's the beauty of the game's emphasis on sheer fun. It's always fun, all the time.
On its own, all these new mechanics and 💃changes create a more robust Mario experience, but they're also in support of Odyssey's most ingenious change – making it about the journey and not just the destination. It's a markedly different experience that doesn't want you to get to the end of the leve🍷l as quickly as possible, but rather take your time reveling in the unique structure of each area, poke around for dozens of secrets, and thoughtfully use both Mario's abilities and Cappy's transformations.
As you collect moons, you're encouraged to exp🦋eriment and explore, and that slower pace ♈really allowed Nintendo to get creative with puzzles and environments. It's genuinely remarkable how different each and every area feels, and how often the game throws curveballs at you – like the sections where you turn into a wall painting that plays like a 2D Mario game. There's a sense of variety here that no other Nintendo platformer comes close to, and the cherry on top is the presentation of Odyssey itself.
As Mario and Cappy fly between areas they look at travel brochures, giving the entire game a vacation vibe that's infectious. Odyssey builds your expectations by hinting at what you're going to see next, then fully delivers with distinct zꦛones, new Cappy captures, and a plethora of secrets to uncover.
Outwardly, Odyssey may not seem like the most innovative game on the Switch. But the more you delve into its mechanics and complexities, the more it becomes clear how massive a step forward it truly was for Mario. It still looks and sounds like a Mario game, but encourages freedom in a way no other entry ever has – and more than anything, embraces that core ideal of fun. It's a game that doesn't want the player to get bored, or complacent, but constantly en𒁃gaged and wondering what's right around the next corner. And it⭕ succeeds.
Everything in Odyssey is there for a reason, every detail and gimmick meticulously thought out 🦩to capitalize on the strong platforming base. And even after 60 hours, it's hard to not keep wantﷺing even more.
Look ahead with our roundups of all of the exciting 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch games and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 games.
]]>Yes, if you look closely at the sprite sheet, which was provided to by the ACMI museum, and zoom way, way in – towards the right, near the💝 circular objects – you'll see an image where Hornet is not wearing her⛎ cloak. Instead, she's carrying it in-hand, exposing the full monty of her sexless, stick figure body to the world.
"is this real????" one th🅰oroughly confused . "there’s no way this is a sprite that is going to be in silksong. is that just what she looks likeꦺ????"
"HORNET PUT YOܫUR CLOAK BACK ON THAT'S SO INDECENT WHAT THE HELL," reads the title of another .
Perhaps the ꦐmost common sentiment follows : "THE SESBIAN LEX IS ACTUAL🐎LY REAL."
I doubt there's gonna be much lexual content of any orientation in Silksong, but as our friends at , even the mostly gende꧟rless, mostly insectoid world of Hollow Knight isn't immune to the internet's need to be deeply horny about absolutely everything. That sure ain't stopping when Team Cherry is distributing official nudes like this.
The original Hollow Knight remains one of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Metroidvania games ever made.
]]>Y🐭es, Silksong will be part of the at the AMCI museum of screen culture in Melbourne, which runs from September 18, 2025 through February 8, 2026. While the exhibit will focus on games from around the world, including The Sims, Neopets, and World of Warcraft, the upcoming title from Team Cherry, which is itself an Australian studio, is a particularly strong fit.
"Since Hollow Knight: Silksong's initial announcement in 2019, it has been one of the most anticipated indie games on th♏e planet – and we are thrilled to celebrate the design of this South Australian-made game as a centrepiece of Game Worlds in September," ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell said in a statement to , where the news was first revealed.
The exhibit will feature the "hundreds of sprites that animate Hornet’s different move🐬ments and attacks" and some sort of display of the bo🍌ss fight logic – on top of, "of course, having the game playable in-gallery."
The question most Silksong hopefuls will ask at this point is, naturally, what this means for the Metroidvania's release date. Is the museum getting an early, pre-release version of Silksong to put on display? Or does this announcement suggest that the game will be out before the Game Worlds exhibit opens?
One thing's for sure: the time to put away the clown makeup has not yet arrived. Silksong is off🌃icially set to launch for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch 2, Switch, and PC sometime in 🥃2025.

]]>First noticed by Mario blogger Supper Mario Broth, the Play Nintendo website indicates that the franchise's Plumber-i꧒n-Chief Mario is friends with – his brother, Luigi, his love, Princess Peach, and so on.
And yet, while customizable Miis – egg-headed characters who represe𒊎nt the player – generously consider Mario to be their in the whole lonely world, Mario doesn't feel the same. Though his friends list is long and, honestly, a little self-congratulatory, it does not include Miis.
Supper Mario Broth elaborates on this detail in a subsequent that recognizes thaꦅt there "many one-sided friendships are listed on the official Play Nintendo site." They compile some of the most "bizarre" in a complicated flowchart, which reveals several bombshells.
It was brought to my attention that many one-sided friendships are listed on the official Play Nintendo site. I have analyzed the lists and present some of the most bizarre 𒆙cases of non-mutual friendships below. pic.twitter.com/x8Ym7LvMrT
Pauline, Mario's first leading lady and the first female character to appear in the Mario games, is a woman of class, happy to acknowledge characters like Peach, Princess Daisy, and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:even her kidnapper Donkey Kong as pals. But none of these characters feel🃏 the saꦉme about her.
More predictably, Luigi's nemesis, the sour-faced Waluigi, seems to have been banished from the core clique – Mario, Peach, Toad, and even Bowser – though forgiving souls like Rosalina and Baby Luigi are comfortabl🍃e being mutuals.
"The𝕴 Play Nintendo site contains 40 Mario-related characters, and mapping out all friendships in a satisfactory manner requires 3D visualization," Supper Mario Broth concludes . All I want to know is – Kirby, can I get a follow back?
]]>Speaking in a new about the steps the publisher should take now, Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang explain how strict Nintendo used to🐷 be about not overhyping products and then subsequently letting fans down. Back when the duo worked at the company during the OG Switch era, Nintendo apparently went so far as to stop some employees from using the word "surprise" to avoid overpromising.
"They've had a thing that's very rare from Nintendo that I was really even surprised by, where they did not manage our expectations, which is something that they were so strict about," Yang says, "and we would𝐆 be lectured endlessly about how we can't even use the word 'surprise.'"
"'Don't you dare inflate somebody's expectations so that when the thing happens they end up being disappointed,' and that's exactly what happened in that Mario Kart Direct last week. Everybody got their expectations completel💜y inflated by things 🍌that [vice president of products Bill Trinen] and [Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser] said only to be a bit disappointed in the actual thing," Yang adds.
The pair is, of course, referring to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the backlash around the new console's♎ pricing. The Nintendo Switch 2 doesn't have an abnormal price tag, sitting at $449.99, but fans d🧸efinitely took issue with almost everythin💟g else, from Mario Kart World's $80 entry fee to paid next-gen upgrades. Heck, even the console's only new button (the GameChat one) is paywalled behind an NSO membership after March 31, 2026.
Doug Bowser then tried to put fans at ease by assuring them that, yes, Mario Kart World iꦛs definitely worth the asking price because it's "the richest Mario Kart expe🐎rience" ever and "there's still som♎e other secrets remaining," which must have given some people the impression that Nintendo was saving some exciting reveals for last week's Dirꦰect.
Of course, Mario Kart World might still be hiding something major for release. (Remember how Nintendo didn't say a peep about 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史🍌查询:The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's underworld pre-l🌟aunch?) But maybe it would've been better not to tease the "secrets" at all, then.
For now, check out some less controversial 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 games.
]]>Ex-Nintendo Minute hosts Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang (also respectively NOA's former director of social media marketing and original content, and former senior manager of creator relations and original content) have been speaking about things Nintendo can do (and some t🌞hings it won't) to shake off some of the negativity surrounding its upcoming console in a new episode of their podcast (below).
Ellis points out recent commen💃ts mad🍬e by Bowser in an , who hinted that fans should "stay tuned" for Mario news, teasing that the company has "a long, long catalog, and a long list of [intellectual property] that I'm sure will make its way to the platform."
Acknowledging that some fans 𒐪have wondered why the company wouldn't just announce what it's working on instead of "teasing the new 3D Mario game," he says: "We just don't think they're going to rush any major game announcement before it's time."
Expanding on this, Ellis believes that the company already has "at least the rest of this ye🎃ar mapped out𒊎 in terms of game announcements, and Nintendo Directs, and partner stuff, and reveals like that," and will stick to that plan.
Beyond these laid-out plans, Yang explains that Ninte🐓ndo is a very developer-focused company, and ultimately wouldn't jump♐ the gun on any game announcements before its creators were ready.
"There's no way from a development side they would let the marketing team dictate the timing of announcements before a game is ready. This is very much a company that'ꦛs driven by the developers, and when they're good and ready to announce something, you work your marketing plan around it," she elaborates. "So using that as a lever to market Switch 2 is just non-existent."
Ellis continues: "⭕If I'm Mr. [Yoshiaki] Koizumi [Nintendo senior executive officer and general manager of the Nintendo Switch], and theꦉ head of marketing comes to me and says, 'Oh, people are mad about the Switch 2, we better announce the new Mario game,' he'd say, 'Well you better fix that. Let me know when you fix that and we can announce my game.'"
"He'd be sippi💖ng his coffee and slam t🎃he door in your face," Yang jokingly adds.
Clearly, Nintendo is going to stick to what it thinks is the best course of action. There've been a lot of vocal complaints since the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 news really kicked off at the start of this month, particularly surrounding the price of things, but based on how much demand there's been for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders, it doesn't seem like the company is going to have any trouble selling the console, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:cries to "drop the price" be damned.
Again, we already know plenty of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 games, too, from 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Donkey Kong Bananza, so 🥂we💖're not looking ahead to an empty release calendar right now, but who knows what else the company has in store for us?
]]>What I’m trying to illustrate is that being a Donkey Kong fan is suffering. And even with the redesign, a prominent role in the Mario movie (with an apparent movie of his own coming), a theme park expansion, and rumors that the Mario Odyssey team was working on a DK game, I still didn’t believe. But when that Nintendo Direct ended and we saw the opening of what was obviously going t⛦o be the game I was most excited for – a new 3D Mario. It wasn't until I saw the monkeys mining – yes, there were bananas and minecarts all over the trailer; my dumb ass just didn't catch on – that I thought that this might be the time. It was – and it was better than I'd ever dreamed it could be.
Donkey Kong Bananza 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:looks like the sequel to Super🤪 Mario ♏Odyssey – nothing major, it’s just the best 3D platformer ever made – but the way it adapts Donkey 👍Kong is exactly what I’ve wanted for the character for years.
Even though I’m an avid 3D platformer fan and adore Donkey Kong, DK64 is – to put it politely – all kinds of ass, at times. The 🌼over abundance of collectables and the character swapping are terrible, we all know that, but to me, DK doesn’t feel right. In his only previous 3D outing he feels too much like a big sack of potatoes, like his contemporary, Banjo. He doesn't have the powers of an amped-up gorilla, which was something he did get in the bongo-bashing spinoff Jungle Beat (which was made by the team who would later go on to lead 3D Super Mario games; we’re through the looking glass people).
Don’t get me wrong: a DK platformer from the Mario Odyssey team was already GOTY material for me. But as someone who adores a good action game, I’ve been dying for the big, powerful bastard we saw in Jun✱gle Beat to make his way to a 3D game – andꦇ that’s exactly what the trailer for Bananza showed me. The terrain deformation and ability to create new pathways through levels is a promising gimmick that surprised me, but what really spoke to me was the big ape himself.
In Bananza we see Donkey Kong running about gorgeous Mario-esque environments, but it's the momentu𒐪m he has that really shines. Watching him roll about and then blast himself onto a wall before scrambling up left me in absolute awe and gives me so much hope for the movement mechanics and speedrun potential of this game.
Seconds later we see Donkey Kong bash the ground and pull out a chunk of rock before using it as a weapon, which is just sick no matter how you look at it. Then there were glimpses of him diving underground and smashing hiꩲs way through the tunnel with rapid punches. I haven’t had the chance to play Bananza yet (I didn’t even watch the Nintendo Treehouse deep-dive), and I can already tell it will feel super satisfying to play.
Rather than masterful duels with Bananza's many enemies, Donkey Kong just smacks the soul out of them. This big ape just manhandles baddies in ways we haven’t seen in a Nintendo game since Wario World had the man in the yellow hat throwing out wrestling moves (including an absolutely disgusting spinning piledriver). The mystery team is making the game knows that this is💜 the move, as enemies just ex🐭plode into piles of gold and particle effects. This isn’t a slow Donkey Kong limply slapping a beaver who becomes a bit of watermelon – we have truly returned to monkey.
I’ve been dying for the bi🍰g, powerful bastard we saw in Jungle Beat to make his way to a 3D game..💮.
The teeny-tiny glimpse of Donkey Kong during the Switch 2 Mario Kart reveal sent the fanbase into a bit of a frenzy. I was always fine with it; during the Mario Kart World reveal he looked good enough, an♈d🔥 it was a nice middle ground between the '80s design and the modern one. But seeing him in motion in Bananza cemented for me that this is peak Donkey Kong, from just how expressive he was throughout the trailer. He’s got the goofy look, but still has the ability to look super intense, and his thicker build suits what he’s doing in the game so well. Plus they gave him some snazzy dungarees; my guy looks suave.
Even in a year where we have a new Kojima game, a remake of the澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询: best game ever made, and the returns of Doom and Ninja Gaiden, Donkey Kong Bananza took just one trailer to become my most anticipated game of the year. That’s down to Nintendo somehow nailing exactly what I w♛anted from the series. I just know that when꧒ I get my Switch 2 through the door – as great as Mario Kart looks – I’ll be waiting for a big gorilla to bash through my front room and destroy everything… and also for Donkey Kong Bananza to arrive.
Check out all the other 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 games set to join Donkey Kong Bananza on Nintendo's new console
]]>Okay, so the one fact we do know i🌳s that Donkey Kong from the original 1981 arcade game isn't the same Donkey Kong from Donkey Kong Country, and that the original one is now Cranky Kong in the new era. However, over the years there have been conflicting reports on whether the new-age Ko🍌ng is Cranky's son (Donkey Kong Jr.) or his grandson (Donkey Kong Jr. Jr.?). While the Donkey Kong Country games and Rare's version of events have always been that Cranky is his grandfather, the Super Mario Bros. Movie has DK calling him 'dad'.
In the new Nintendo Direct, while showing off the online play, there is a shot of the original Super Mario Kart cast on a 🍷billboard with their Mario Kart World variants posing in front of it. Except, Donkey Kong is posing in front of the Donkey Kong Jr. sign, which led fans on Reddit to speculate that this is direct confirmation of the Kong family tree and that the modern DK is, in fact, Donkey Kong Jr.
from
Personally I'm still team grandson, but – just like with elements of the wild Zelda timeline – I don't even think Nintendo knows at this point. There are cases like Yoshi's Island DS, which has baby Mario and the baby version of modern DK appearing alongside each other, which would make💛 the plumber way too young to have scrapped with Cranky and Jr. back in the original arcade games. Mario Tennis N64, on the other hand, has a young Donkey Kong Jr. appearing alonꦿgside regular modern DK, making him older than his own dad
Of 🅠course, , it could simply be that Donkey Kong Jr. isn't in the game and they are using his son as a stand-in. I mean, I'm sure that's probably not the same Koopa Troopa, given the amount Mario has stomped over the years.
Regardless, it's adding more fuel to the fire of one of the most important debates in human history – what exactly is the Kong family tree?
If this isn't a proper confirmation, hopefully we'll find out the answer to this massive mystery in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Donkey Kong Bananza.
Mind you, we could argue the second Mario Maker was (and continues to be) limited by the ‘building blocks’ it borrowed from everything before it, along with Nintendo’s tight grip on what players can and cannot create with the vast array of tools included in the package.
Whereas creative🐎-sandbox games such as Little Big Planet 2 became unrecognizable if the right person got their hands on them, Super Mario Maker 2 is ‘more Mario’ even at its best and most surprising. That’s not a bad thing though.
澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Super Mario Maker 2 review: "has an unbelievable cap🌠acity to totally satisfy you whatever you're looking to get out 🀅of it."
The genius of Super Mario Maker 2 is that it’s the perfect amount of flexible. Some of the player-made 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Super Mario Maker 2 level codes out there are absolutely bananas, and you can come across truly random and personal experiments, but Nintendo, widely known to stay on top of what happens with its properties to the point of shooting down non-profit fan🙈 projects, was intelligent when it came to establishing a set of guard rails.
A fresh (back in the day) series like Little Big Planet could be al🦋lowed to be as playful as possible because, well, that was its identit🃏y; there was no Little Big Planet without the players. For a franchise as firmly established as Super Mario, especially in its 2D form that’s retained a profoundly traditional style of retro platforming for decades, embracing such a player-driven model wasn’t an easy switch.
澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario fangames and ROM hacks already existed long before even the first Mario Maker arrived. Create something influential enough and the most dedicated players will aspire to become developers inside that sandbox. The golden era of dev-backed modding on PC is now treated as ancient history outside of exceptions such as 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Valve’s games. As for getting user-made content on ꧂consoles, Bethesda’s own platform might be the one console-centric push worth celebrating. Because of all this and more, seeing Nintendo put out no🅷t just one but two fantastic Mario-themed sandboxes was shocking to say the least.
Innovation must come from the games themselves, and it turns out that players can help with that🌠...
I’m🐬 happy Super Mario Bros. Wonder came and gave us renewed hope for the future of 2D Mario. At the same time, however, I’m fairly sure Super Mario Maker 2 directly influenced Wonder’s design (and it seems ).
Back in 2023, a✃ brand-new generation of side-scrolling Mario adventures needed to borrow elements even from the 3D series, so it’s not a reach to theorize much of Wonder’s DNA c🌸omes from the finest user-made levels and worlds uploaded to Mario Maker 2’s servers.
Mikey Mike’s 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Super Mario Bros. 5 is the perfect example of how utterly incredible the god tier of Super Mario Maker 2’s creations can be thanks to the ambitious post-launch . Drawing inspiration from all of Mario’s 2D history and even the most famous fangames and ROM hacks around, this user painstakingly created a fifth ‘classic Super Mario’ adventure that mixed past and present design philosophies.
The complete experience swin๊gs wildly between being the 2D Mario time forgot and taking the formula to new, more chaotic heights thanks to the power of the editor’s tools.
Saving these levels and worlds to your list of favorite creations is like amassing a high-quality library of Nintendo-endorsed, professional-feeling fangames. It rocks, and feels like the most un-Nintendo thing ever, like an anomaly in the company’s usual plans to roll out inventive but market-tested new instalments.
For a very brief moment in time, 2D Mario was ‘officially’ refreshed and kept alive by fans, and the IP was all the richer for it. Despite Wonder being nearly perfect and keeping the unpredictable creati🌌ve spark alive, I couldn’t help but feel that we’d left something big and meaningful behind when Mario Maker 2 faded into the background.
That all sounds overly dramatic, given that Super Mario Maker 2’s servers are still online (and likely will be for a long time). I don’t want Nintendo and the fandom to downsize its importance though.
It shouldn’t be treated like ‘that one spinoff for the ♓diehards’ and a skippable entry. It’s much more than that, and the presence of an actual story mode and full-blown online capabilities backs me up. After all the support was done, it became the most complete Super Mario package ever and far more than a playground filled with 🉐silly little levels.
It rocks, and feel🧜s like the most un-Ninten𒅌do thing ever...
Super Mario Maker 2 also ended up among the in spite of the central premise being targeted at folks who had burned through all of the official Mario games. Its depth didn’t put the overall accessibility at risk, and that translated into a win for both players who wanted a deeper connectio🌺n with the developers and casual gamers looking for a new Mario game to pick up.
After looking at all the data and returning to Mario Maker 2 in 2025, I started to wonder whether this winning formula could make other hit Nintendo games shine under a new light. I’m now dreaming of Metroid Maker, Kirby Maker, and Donkey Kong Maker. Those are lazy provisionalꦜ titles, Nintendo. I don’t care. Jus𒅌t make them happen, please.
With Nintendo Switch 2’s arrival finally around the corner and the entertainment giant choosing to iterate and not reinvent the wheel with its hardware, innovation must come from the gamꦐes themselves, and it turns out that players can help with that when they’re entrusted with the right tools and supervised in a healthy and collaborative way. As the developers usher in a new future, communities are perfectly capable of protecting and rephrasing the past.
Here are all the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 games we currently know of, from Super Mario World to Donkey Kong Bananza
]]>The Virtual Boy was an outright failure in terms of standalone Nintendo platforms, and it was discontinued within five months in Japan and after about a year in the US (and it never even released in Europe). So much so that the likes of Zelda, Meಞtroid, and Donkey Kong never arrived on the platform; hell, even Mario never bothered to make an appearance outside of a couple of spinoff titles (those beingꦏ Mario's Tennis and Mario Clash).
However, the red plumber was supposed to arrive on the red-and-bl🍰ack eyesore with a standard platformer; it even got so far that the possible Mario title made an appearance at CES 1995 and got a mention in (). But until now, not much has been known ab♚out the mythical VB Mario Land.
As it turns out, p♐art of it was hanging out online for anyone to find.
has been digging into old AOL multimedia libraries and uncovered tons of💃 interesting things like old wallpapers, old promotional game screenshots (including ), and even some random photos of Cartoon Network staff.
But hidden away in all that information were high-res screenshots of the fabled VB Mario Land. These bizarre looking screens show Mario walking around the Virtual Boy hellscape with giant Wario heads haunting him like a 2D 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Silent Hill. We can also see a top-down segment that looks closer to Zelda, with a weird 3D Mario participating in dungeon crawꦐling. While some of the screens had been seen before, they were in 90s magazines and mostly low quality.
What's more interesting is that these screenshots were labeled "Mario Smash" when uploaded by Nintendo, potentially giving us the final title for the fabled VB Mario Land. Sadly, we may never know how the game was, but considering that VB ꦛWario Land is far and away the best game on the doomed system, Mario Smash could've been the second good game on the platform… when it wasn't giving you migraines.
]]>While the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World Direct wasn't some huge revelation that would blow the doors open and reveal some mass♏ive thing to make the $80 less daunting, it did show us even more of everyone's favorite thing about the initial reveal – the cow – and also some new outfits; people liked those too.
The thirstposting has arrived (not quite Marvel Rivals fanbase levels though, thankfully). Gaming news Twitter account a render of one of꧂ Peach's new outfits where she dons shorts, and naturally the obvious "peach" jokes were thrown out.
Mean🐠while Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb exclaimed "🍸RAISE THE PRICE" in reaction to Pauline's new latex number .
But really, it's like none of them saw Wario's sexy new skintight number during the Knockout Tour segment, because that's all I caꦑn think about.
Another interesting tidbit we found out from the latest Direct is exactly how these new fits will be unlocked in Mario Kart World. While we did previously see characters munching down on food before changing costume, Nintendo has confirmed exactly what this 👍is.
Throughout the world, you'll find food bags, which will contain dishes such as burgers, pizzas, and kebabs. These will, in turn, give you a speed boost and unlock specific skins based on the dish (examples given include sushi giving Peach a kim🐓ono and potato chips making Mario into a cowboy).
Once you unlock an outfit via the food bag, it'll 🐻become available forever, allowing you to pick it from the character ⭕select screen.
Although tꦇhese are given different slots, rather than pulling up a second menu when you select🍸 a character. It's also still unknown if every character will get an outfit inspired by each meal, as I noticed we haven't seen any alternate skins for Cow or Penguin.
]]>澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World boasts many firsts for澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询: Nintendo, from its 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Tony Hawk-style rail-grinding mechanic to its 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:unique off-roading and open-world layout.
The game's new items are no exception, starting with the Coin Shell. Upon throwing a shiny Koopa shell, coins will appear in its s༺tead – but players will have to be quick to collect them, as other racers can pick them up if they manage to drive through them first.
Another new item joining Mario Kart World's impressive line-up is the 💖Ice Flower, which functions much like its counterpart in Super Mario Br⛄os.
Players can fire ice blocks at other racers, freezing them while sending their vehicles spinning o♒ut of control along the track.
There's also the Hammer, an it𝕴em that users can aim in an arc at others. Hammers stay where they've hit the ground for a while, too, acting as a short-term barrier.
Theꦐ next item showcased during Nintendo's livestream is the Mega Mushroom, a consumable that causes players t✤o grow exponentially in size, allowing them to flatten any fellow racers in their way.
Then, there's the Feather, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:a returning item from the 1992 Su𒆙per Mario Kart which has otherwise only been featured in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's battle mode. It's a simple item that lets users jump high up into the air to avoid incoming attacks from others.
The final new item highli🏅ghted in the video is Kamek, Bowser's adviser and one of Mario's most notorious nemeses. By using Kamek's magic, players can transform other racers and cause "mysterious effects" to happen on the co𝐆urse.
As a longtime Mario Kart fan myself, it looks like it might end up being one of the most OP items available. No need to worry, though – much like the Bullet Bill item in past entries, powerful Mario Kart world items have a higher chance of being obtained by players further behind in a race to keep things fair.
