Brad Winderbaum, Marvel's head of television and animation, told꧙ this week that 2025 will see the transition to a slightly different television model. The studio is now aiming for one or two live-action shows and two animated shows a year, and mostly avoiding big-name Avengers actors.

"Producing shows with marquee names, it made it really challenging to produce second seasons; the margins on TV are smaller. Looking to the future, does it mean thatඣ we won't have big Avengers names? No. They may not be the titular character of the show, but they can still make appearances," Winderbaum confirmed.

While the first batch of MCU shows predominantly featured high-profile stars from the movies (like Wandavision, The Falcon and the Winter Solider, Hawkeye, and Loki), along with big budgets and high filming demands, the future of Marvel TV seems to be heading towards a more traditional development model. Daredevil wasted no time in show🧸ing everyone what it was missing. Armed with a mature tone that felt like a breath of fresh air even next to an MCU movie universe that was firing on all cylinders, the Netflix series came out swinging. I know everyone (rightfully) holds the likes of Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man and J.K. Simmons' J. Jonah Jameson as an example of pitch-perfect casting, but perhaps D'Onofrio's Kingpin should be ꦏheld in the same regard too.

It may have culminated in a bloodbath in the third season, but violent acts such as Kingpin caving 🅠someone's head in and the Devil of Hell's Kitchen finally coming to blows with the immovable object of Wilson Fisk felt both shocking and earned. It also shoꦜws the value in keeping a villain around for the long haul instead of the one-and-done baddies that litter today's landscape, seemingly only there as a brief speed bump rather than as a roadmap for a hero's growth.

That casting quality is also present in Daredevil's hidden weapon: the beating heart of fellow avocado-at-law Foggy Nelson and paralegal Karen Page. Whe🅷re some superhero shows are all CGI, explosions, and spectacle, Daredevil made sure to put emotions first. For once, a cutting remark or an emotional falling-out hurt just as much as a punch ꧋or a swift kick. Daredevil realized that, and realized it quickly: to care about Matt Murdock, you need to care about his friends too.

Punching above its weight

The first season, though, was just the appetizer. The (more divisive) second season brought in Jon Bernthal's The Punisher and the third season was, similarly, a bloodbath but with a more refined storytelli🦂ng palate. Namely, in how it presents Daredevil as a fallible superhero. The 13-episode structure was criticized at the time as being overly long. Now with six-episode runs the norm, it resembles a space where characters can be built up – and broken down – across a full season of television. That's a rare thing in 2025.

Throughout its run, Daredevil legitimized superhero shows in the way Christopher Nolan's work on The Dark Knight legitimized superhero movies. It was a great show that happened to involve superheroes, not merely a great 💫superhero show.

Its biggest legac🍷y, however, is how it became a white whale that couldn't be caught and replicated. Many – from the brutally bad Secret Invasion to Moon Knight, Invincible, and even Netflix's own cottage industry of Defender🌠s shows – have tried to match its tone and writing since. Most have failed.

Even Daredevil: Born Again was caught in the long, long shadow of its Netflix predecessor. The initial attempt to reboot the character for ꦆthe MCU on Disney Plus meant it wanted to shake off many of the elements that brought it so much success.

Speaking about the moment she found out she was coming back, Zurer explains the first call she💃 received was from her co-star Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays her on-screen husband Wi🧸lson Fisk.

"He was so sweet," she tells GamesRadar+. "I mean, he called me and you know, he hinted to check on me if I'm busy, if anything is happening with my career at the moment. Who is The Rose?

At first, the Rose's true identity remained a mystery, with the enigmatic villain serving as one of Kingpin's chief underbosses, characterized by his purple mask, white suit, and, of course, trademark roses. Interestingly, it's not clear whetheꦫr Richard Fisk was initially intended to be the Rose, as writer Tom DeFalco left Amazing Spider-Man before he could make the reveal.

Still, it's Richard who was eventually unveiled as the Rose – a relatively natural fit considering his father is the K✱ingpin.

But the Rose wouldn't always be on his father's side. After being betrayed by one of his closest assoඣciates in the wake of Wilson Fisk's apparent death, Richard Fisk eventually decides to wage war on the organized criminals of New York City as the Blood Rose, leaving a swath of deadly violence in his wake.

Sadly, Richard's time a🌼s the Blood Rose ended with none other🧸 than his own mother, Vanessa Fisk, shooting him down. Still, Wilson Fisk was able to resurrect Richard during his time as mayor of New York using a magical artifact, with Richard once again becoming the Rose – an identity he still maintains.

Who is Butch Pharris?

Richard Fisk has yet to appear in the MCU. The rose motif of episode 8 could perhaps be a subtle nod to the idea of Wilson Fisk's children. But as we covered above, Richard Fisk is, in comics, the son of Wilson and Vanessa Fisk.

Still Wilson Fisk does have another son – Byron 'Butch' Pharris, who first rejects any connection to his father's criminal empire before drawing closer to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Wilson during his time as mayor.

Iℱn fact, Butch eventually changes his last nam💖e to Fisk, fully taking up his father's criminal legacy, even going so far as to claim the mantle of the Kingpin in his father's absence from New York City following his fall from grace as mayor.

However, he's since ceded the Kingpin mantle back to his father in the wake of Wilson's return to New York, which has reinvigorated his feud with Daredevil💃 with a new, demonic twist, as Wilson has become possessed by a devilish entity of greed.

✅Speculation has remained that Michael Gandolfini's Daniel Blake may secretly be the son of Wilson Fisk. There have been sparse hints, mostly in the form of Daniel's way-too-paternal vibes toward Vincent D'Onofrio's Fisk, but right now, Daniel Blake's history has not been revealed.

It's hard to imagine too many of the mystical aspects of Wilson Fisk's history with his sons coming into Daredevil: Born Again. But it would be much easier to envision the idea of Wilson Fisk h💙aving a secret son who he's hidden from Vanessa, especially given the themes of infidelity in their marriage in this season of Daredevil: Born Again.

There's only one more episode of Daredevil: Born Again season one to find out whether there will be any big revelatioꦚns about Wilson Fisk's kids to come. But with season two already in pro🍬duction, it's also very possible that we'll see some seeds planted for stories yet to come.
