We're similarly in the dark about seeing Reeves' Shadow again, even though that seems more likely given that we know he's still alive.

In terms of new characters, fans have already been calling out for a few faces from the games to join the series. Amy and Metal Sonic are lꦗocked in, but don't be surprised to see the usual post-credits scene spring a few new surprises and fresh faces, such as Rouge. Is there a Sonic 4 trailer?

Unfortunately, there is no Sonic 4 trailer or even teaser at this point. Paramount Pictures released the first full Sonic 3 trailer on August 27, 2024 – that's four months before the movie dropped. Based on those calculations, we can expect the Sonic 4 trailer sometime in late 2026 to early 2027. But we are𒅌 secretly hoping to get at least a teaser a little sooner.

Will Sonic 4 be the last movie in the franchise?

There has been no confirmation on whether or not Sonic 4 will be the last movie in the Sonic movie franchise. What you may not know, however, is Shadow the Hedgehog loves Latinas. First originating from a semi-NSFW 2023 TikTok by user @tyller._ that sees the Ultimate Life Form sh♈outing out 'all the latinas', the meme only snowballed from there.

Inexplicably, it has since made its way into the Sonic 3 movie, with director Jeff Fowler explaining its inclusion a🐷s a way to "honor what fans know and love" about Sonic's surreal online history of one-liners and shitposts.

"Shadow loves Latinas, that's another meme we found a place for in the movie," Fowler said on the Sonic 3 director's commentary. 🏅He's talking over a moment whi❀ch sees Shadow (Keanu Reeves) becoming distracted by the ongoing shenanigans in fictional telenovela La Última Pasión.

"I just felt there was no version of this where we weren't going to make that a strong presence in the film. The fans would hunt ♈me down if I didn't," Fowler joked. "Not only did I🥃 do it out of fear of my own life, but also because it's an awesome song and we're happy to get to use it."

"I do hope people go back and forth. Now knowing how close these characters were at a certain point, I imagine it's going to make some of those interactions in the original film take on a new context," Jenkins tells GamesRadar+ of🔯 how Mufasa and Scar's origins will inform later events.

Jenkins even has the perfect example for those curiou🌸s enough to check out Mufasa on opening weekend before dipping into The Lion King shortly afteꦕr – and it involves Jeremy Irons' Scar, a performance frequently lauded as one of the most deliciously evil Disney Villains in decades past.

"One of the things that really drove us was – especially if you listen to Jeremy Irons' performance in the original Lion K♉ing – there's so much hurt and woundedness and heartbreak and bitterness. I think it was driving [Taka/Scar actor] Kelvin Harrison Jr. to really show the deep wells of feeling"

Jenkins continues, "[Jeremy Irons' Scar] is always celebrated as this very delicious, pure evil. Yet, I heard all these different elements to it. Now you see those things exhibited in this film and when you go back and watch that movie, I think your ear will be more attuned to those 𓆉things."

It's an opinion that is shared by the cast, not least of all Sarabi's voice actor Tiffany♏ Boone.

"I think it really will be great. Even some people, maybe they haven't seen the 2019 version or the original The Lion King, I think you can watch them in any order," Boone says. "They all co﷽mplement each other really nicely. You can feel the same heart in all of the films, even though you get a 🔯little bit of each filmmaker… They have a really nice connection to each other."

Aaron Pierre, who plays a younger Mufasa before he asꦛcends to the head of the animal kingdom in Pride Rock, adds, "I'm actually really excited to learn how people engage with the original after watching this. I think that's a really beautiful thing. I think people will watch this [and] learn a bit more about these beloved characters, they have deeper insight, and they'll go ahead and watch the original. Jenkins continues, "For the last eight years, I've been pretty much working in the same mode. I've gotten into a rhythm that was very comfortable. The work is still challenging, but it's very comfortable. This is not comfortable; it required me to expand my vocabulary, to learn new♋ skills. I think that's very instrumental in keeping a fresh mind and learning new tactics and new tricks."

Now, we're about to see the fruits of those labors. Jenkins directs Mufasa: The Lion King, an original prequel to the 2019 live-action rema🦋ke that charts the origins of Mufasa's rise from lion cub to Lion ♎King.

Previously, Fowler had mentioned that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Reeves had done "research" before taking on the role of the Ultimate Lifeform in the Sonic threequel. When we asked him about ൲what that homework ent😼ailed, the director said he wasn't sure of the "specifics" but "definitely wouldn't question that he did a deep dive."

"His q🅰uestions were really smart," Fowler tells GamesRadar+. "It was very clear to him what the Shadow and Maria r♓elationship meant to Shadow as a character [and] to the fans as a story they loved. He just knew that we really had to nail it for the film."

For Fowler, the chance to tell a "very poignant" version of the Shadow and Maria story (in the Sonicཧ games, it's the driving force behind Shadow's initial hatred of humanity after Maria is killed) was of utmost importance🙈, even if it had to fit in alongside the rest of Sonic 3's action.

"Of course, with the movie be💧ing so big and having 🧸so many moving parts and characters, chances are you're never going to get as much time as you'd like to tell some of these stories," Fowler explains.

"Wanting to tell a very poignant version of that st✤ory, but do it very efficiently, was tremendously important. Alyla Brown, who plays Maria, was just so phenomenal and was just a natural. It's not easy acting with these non-existent characters [on set] and she had a great imagination and just gave us a really great performance."

While some exceptions exist – Dumb and Dumber To and the 1995 Ace Ventura sequel When Nature Calls are Carrey's only major follow-ups – Carrey says that his hardline stance on franchises only melted away when playing evꦛil genius Doctor Robotnik.

"For me, at this time of my life – for some reason – I've never really wanted to do sequels. I've never really wanted to do franchise stuff. It didn't occur to me. On top of that, there was one moment from that Fowler was ke🔥en to replicate on the big screen.

"There's what I thought was a very iconic moment from Shadow the Hedgehog where you're seeing Sonic sort of struggling on his knees and then he just collapses, and that reveals Shadow standing behind him. I was like, 'Oh, that's such a cool shot. We've got to acknowledge that i🎉n the movie. So we did pretty much a 𝐆direct reference to that camera move."

On his time on the Shadow the Hedgehog team 20 year🌄s ago, Fowler added, "I had a blast working on the game and the cinematics. Here's this litt🌊le badass hedgehog who rides a motorcycle, can teleport, and he's got a submachine gun… Now, 20 years later, to be doing the big-screen version – it's incredible."

When asked by about whether he ൩would be open to reuniting with Reeves for a live-action adaptation of CD Projekt Red's futuristic RPG, Elba replied, "Oh, man, that's a great question. I think if any film could do a live-action rendition, it could be [ Cyberpunk 2077 ], and I think his character and my character together would be, 'Whoa.' So, let's speak that into existence."

As ▨Elba alludes to, both he and Reeves had major parts to play in Cyberpunk 2077. Reeves portrays Johnny Silverhand, a mysterious figure who ends up in protagonist V's head during the opening stages of the 2020 release.
