Speaking to People about donning the blue and red outfit that comes with extra undies, the new hero of James Gunn's upcoming Superman film admitted donning ♌the cape made for an “intense experience.”

“You hear actors who play superheroes talking 𝓡about squeezing into the suits. I got kind of claustrophobic in the suit the first time, just being constricted in all those places at the same time," recalled the future Man of Steel.

The suit makes a change for some of DC's ✃finest heroes' outfits from recent years, given that there are no spray-on abs, which always highlighted how tight the costume was on its wearer. Don't be fooled by Corenswet's threads, though, as that thing is definitely on. “It was quite snug because they had made it to my proportions when I screen-tested where I weighed about 195 pounds, and when I walked in for my first costume fitting, I weighed about 235, 240 pounds."

As for the battle with bathroom breaks, Corenswet recalled h꧋ow efforts were made to address the - ahem - issue in the early stages, only for them just to accept defeat. “There are lots of zippers, but there's no single zipper that allows me to go to the bathroom, which you would think would be quite straightforward,” he explained. “But nothing is straightforward about these things. I mean, we talked about it and we tried, and it was not worth the costs that came with it." Did the Last Son of Krypton battle with this detail, though? “I never had an issue with that. I had the most amazing dresser you could ask for, Scotty, who was sort of like a, I don't know, he felt like a mob fixer."

Understandably, getting out of the suit was more than ꦐa job for Superman. “He would make excuses for me if I needed, and we got very good together at getting in and out of the suit, so he would do it quite quickly, and I could take breaks if I needed to over the course of a day.” Let's just be glad that only Krypto wore a cape, then.

"There are a couple of people, specifically, who have pretty large followings who jus𝐆t consistently put out false stories, just one after the other after the other, 95 percent of the time," he told .

"Maybe once out of every 20 times, they say something that has some slight or partial basis ꧙in reality. And it gets to be old. I'm not sure, some of those people, that I'm not actually helping them in a certain way by debunking them, because you're giving them traffic, which I always do, but I think they like it. So I mostly quit."

This gossip has ranged from report𝓡s Matt Reeves was no longer directing The Batman 2 to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Green Arrow casting rumors, with Gunn often responding in a🅰s few words as possible to get his point across ("Yes. Huh?").

While it's interesting that Gunn is open to including this bit of comic book lore in his world, it's also one that's only just started spinning. Even mentioning the pits now would be wild given that we don't even have a Batman in place to dive into them yet. "What Matt [Reeves]'s doing is s▨till really important, despite all stories to the contrary," Gunn said in a recent interview with . "We're supposed to see that script shortly, and I can't wait."

The Batman 2 was first announced at CinemaCon in 2022 and has since been delayed twice, pushing the release date back from October 2025 to October 2026 and, most recently, ཧto October 2027.

Robert Pattinson is confirmed to reprise his role as the Caped Crusader and Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright are expected to return as Alfred Pennyworth and Jim Gordon,🌃 while Reeves is back in the director's chair.

When a fan asked the DC Studios boss if Reeves was still attached to the movie on 🅠, Gunn replied, "Ye꧑s. Huh?"

Robert Pattinson will return as the Caped Crusader for round two, while Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell are expected to return as Alfred Pennyworth and Oz Cobb, AKA the Penguin. Speaking at a press conference for the trailer's premiere which GamesRadar+ attended, Gunn explains that, while the aesthetic of the Silver Age is important ✤to his film, the story itself is much more character driven than the often very surface level comics of the '50s and '60s.

"I love the Silver Age of Comics in terms of the aesthetics of it, but I think, like I said at the beginning, it isn't completely that," Gunn explains. "It's also taking the character of Superman and really getting into who he is as an individual and what his personal obstacles are in this film. I think that's a really big difference from not only other superheroes, but other superhero films. This is a story about a man and both his external and internal obstacles and wﷺhat he's facing in life, and that's what the film is about. And so although some of the imagery is very Silver Age, I don't think that's a very Silver Age plot. So it has elements of both the traditional and the new. And I think that's where we find our balance."

Still, Gunn found a particular challenge in making sure to meet fan expectations of Superman's portrayal, while also finding ways t꧃o innovate with his new film. He st𒈔ates that the key lies in finding an "authentic" angle for his story and characters.

"It was trying to balance what was classic and what was completely new, which could be a brace at the time, because Superman is such a big character," he says. "Superman is one of the most popular characters, famous characters, in the world, and everyone has their idea of what he should be like, what his costume should look like, what his moral should be, what his power 𒀰set is."

"And so finding something that was as true and as authentic as I could possibly m🃏ake it, because at the end of the day, if I can make something that's authentic, then I think it works," Gunn continues. "And so I think that balancing was just something that was trial and error, trial and error, trial and error, both in writing the script and working with Juliana, our costume designer, and working with the VFX folks and what we, you know, make our giant monsters and robots look like, to give it that feeling of the Silver Age stuff, but again, also to see those thing💖s as a grounded way that we haven't seen them before, is what makes the movie."

"I mean, All-Star Superman, there's a couple of them, but All-🍒Star Superman is th🍰e thing that we borrow the most heavily from," Gunn states at a press event for the trailer's premiere, which GamesRadar+ attended.

"Our plot has nothing to do with All-Star Superman, but some of the aesthetics of what Grant wrote and what Frank drew were incredibly influential," he continues. "They also had that sort of science fiction, and the idea of Lex as a mad science sorcerer, almost. You know, science is his own sort of sorcery. And the giant, you know, the monsters and the threats and all of that the Silver Age look through a green lens. I think a lot of that was taken from All-Star Superman, and that was my biggest one, for sure. Also my favor♒ite."

In terms of Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult in the film,🤡 Gunn goes on to describe ဣhim as a "badass," and "intimidating".

"Oh my god. I've been holding everything. I have these pictures on my phone. I 𝓀mean, he is, when Nick Holt is Lex Luthor… Every woman in my life was like, oh my god, I love me a bald man," Gunn quips. "Oh,ꦬ yeah, he's intimidating. He's a badass, but he's got his reasons. He's not without his reasons for what he's doing. And I think Nick is just a fantastic actor to work with."

So there you have it - Lex Luthor's portrayal in the new Superman movie will take some interesting notes from All-Star Superman. In that comic, Lex develops a serum that temporarily allows him to develop the same powers as Superman, leading to the story's climactic moment. While Gunn states that All-Star Superman doesn't directly inform the 🍸plot of his Superman movie, it's not impossible that something like this could be adapted as an element of the movie.

After all, the trailer shows Superman beaten and bloodied - a rare sight which could come at the hands of an 🤪empow𓂃ered Lex Luthor.

"There’s no set timeline for anything," Gunn told . "T🃏he one thing that⭕ I've tried to make clear to people from the beginning, in the way that I hope we're different, is that everything in DC is going to be based on the writers. Until we have a screenplay that I'm totally happy with, that movie is not going to get made, no matter what it is. So, we have been really fortunate with some screenplays. And once The Brave and the Bold gets to that point, then we'll make the movie."

The scene in question features Emilia Harcourt and John Economos, two characters with prominent roles in Gunn's Peacemaker series. Naturalಌly, then, you might expect the scene to be tied to the new DCU – but, as it turns out, it's 𝄹not. 

"You don't need to be ꧑confused," Gunn wrote in response to a fan on . "It's not canon. I don't know now or then what Harcourt or Economos have to do with the Justice Society."

Now, this does make some sense, as Shazam 2 is part of the old DCEU continuity and not the new DCU, meaning the movie is no longer canon. As confusing as the oddly casual image of Superman has been for some fans, whatever the heck is going on in the background has also been a big question. And though it's merely an educated guess, we're thinking that it's very likely Solaris, the Tyrant Sun, a cosmic villain that plays a role in the comic 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:All-Star Superman, which James Gunn has repeatedly touted as a 𝓰big influence on his Supe🤡rman movie.

But what is Solaris, the Tyrant Sun? And if that is in fact what's in the back of this image, what could it mean for the story of James Gunn's Superman? Solaris in DC One Million

Solaris first appeared way back in 1998's DC One Million #1 by writer Grant Morrison and artist Val Semeiks, which kicked off an event se🍨ries exploring the DC Universe a million years into its future in the 853rd century. 

Though Solaris starts as an enemy of Superman's descendants, by the 853rd century, the sentient cosmic super-computer is reformed as a hero and a member of the Justice League of th𝔉e future.

But not all 🌺is as it seems, as the Tyrant Sun once again begins living up to its name again in secret, infecting the time-traveling android hero Hourman, who existed in both the present and the future, with a virus that traveled backwards along his timeline, turning him against the present day Justice League.

This was all a plan by Solaris to eliminate the present day Superman (known in the 853rd century as Superman Prime) with a piece of K🗹ryptonite, which was actually a disguised Green Lantern ring. Wielding the ring, Superman෴ Prime is able to defeat Solaris by collapsing it into inert matter.

Solaris in All-Star Superman

Solaris also played a role in the 2005-2008 series All-Star Superman by writer Grant Morrison (Solaris' co-creator) and artist Frank Quitely, which takes🌳 place outside of regular DC Universe continuity, in its own self-contained timelinꩵe.

Solaris appears  in the series' climax in which 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Lex Luthor has taken a Super-Serum that temporarily gives him Superman's powers. Luthor summons Solaris to Metropolis, allowing it to turn the light of Earth's sun blue, denying Superman his poweﷺrs (which are fueled by Earth's yellow sun). 

Though Superman manages to regain h꧑is powers and defeat both Luthor and Solaris, it winds up being his last act, as he falls dead a short time later.

This leads to the final twist of All-Star Superman, in which Superman's super-scientist ally Doctor Quintum reveals that he's cloned Superman, allowing his legacy to live on after the original's death, though as yet, we haven't actually seen any follow-up on the Super-Clone, as All-꧃Star Superman 🅘remains a singular, standalone story.

Solaris in James Gunn's Superman

There are a few elements of both ⛎DC One Million and All-Star Superman that could inform how Solaris fits into James Gunn's Superman, if that is in fact Solaris in the set photo Gunn released.

One of the most potentially interesting bits in DC One Mil♌lion is the final climax in which Superman uses a Green Lantern ring to defeat Solaris. With Nathan Fillion playing Green Lantern Guy Gardner in Superman, it's entirely possible that a version of this scene could play out in the film.

And from All-Star Superman, the idea of Luthor using Solaris as a tool for Superman's destruction seems to line-up with what appears to be happening in the background of the image, in which it seems that Solaris (again, assuming that is in fact Sola⛎ris) is blasting Metropolis with purple energy. That could also imply that Nicolas Hoult's Luthor miꦫght get some super powers of his own.

Gunn could be drawing on any of t♉hose plot points or more for Superman, and pitting the Man of Steel against a tyrannical cosmic villain of Solaris' power and proportions, potentially alongside an empowered Lex Luthor, would cert💧ainly be a spectacle that hasn't made it to the screen in any Superman movie yet.

One of the newest films on this list of the best DC movies, Blue Beetle, tells the story of Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña), a down-on-his-luck college graduate who becomes bonded to a symbiotic alien scarab that grants him incredible powers. So far, so superhero, right? Well, what separates this delightful film from the milieu of mediocre superhero movies is its focus on Jaime's lovable family, who nearly steal the show fr❀om the titular bug-themed hero.

Luckily, Xolo's charismatic enough to stop that from happening (although we'd give the minigun-toting grandma a spin-off), and we're excited that James Gunn has confirmed the character has a future in his new DCU. That said, if that's the plan, Gunn needs to bring back director Ángel Manuel Soto as well. Soto clearly uꦑndersta☂nds what makes the character tick, and it'd be a shame to lose that.

8. The Batman

Director: Matt Reeves
Released: 2022

There have been plenty of grim and gritty reinterpretations of Gotham's lantern-jawed vigilante. Still, director Matt Reeves found new ground amongst Gotham's pearl-strewn alleys with The Batman by making his superhero movie a David Fincher-style crime drama. David Ayer's Suicide Squad wasn'🍨t a great movie, but it did do one thing right. It gave us Margot Robbie's unforgettable Harley Quinn – a piece of casting so supಌerb it'll go down in superhero movie history alongside the casting of JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson. Harley stole the show from the rest of Task Force X, so a spin-off was inevitable. Sure enough, four years later, we got Birds of Prey, or to give it its proper title, "Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn."

Frantic and anarchic, Birds of Prey is an action-packed and deliciously violentౠ break-up movie with Harley finding new friends (and enemies) after the Joker kicks her out of his house. While the plot is a little formulaic at times, the colorful cast of characters Harley meets on her adventures more than makes up for that. Director Cathy Yan also keeps the action lively and characterful, so even veterans of the caped genre will find themselves enraptured by the spectacle.

6. The Suicide Squad

Director: James Gunn
Released: 2021

What's that in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's James Gunn coming to save film fans from bad Suicide Squad movies. Yes, The Suicide Squad might technically be a sequel, but let's be honest: this is a full-on reboot wearing a pair of cheap glasses in the hope no one realizes, and it's all the better for it. As a result, The Suicide Squad is a weird and wonderful picture 🧔that breathlessly revels in the outlandishness of comic books and has a lot of fun doing so.

It's not all jokes and gags, though. Gunn and his incredible cast of actors manage to inj♓ect a surprising degree of pathos into a film that ends with our heroes battling a giant starfish from space. So I guess we're saying that bad guys have all the fun, and no film on this list proves that quite like The Suicide Squad, a movie that elevates irreverence to an art form.

5. Wonder Woman

Director: Patty Jenkins
Released: 2017

Easily Gal Gadot's best movie and probably her most iconic big-screen role (although who knows what the future holds for Gisele Yashar?) Wonder Woman is a film that reviews itself; it's wonderful. Per , despite Gadot claim🐬ing she was assured by James Gunn of a sequel, there are reportedly no such plans in place at the moment. "I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Petౠer Safran [co-chairperson and CEO of DC alongside Gunn] and what they told me, and I’m quoting: 'You're in the best hands," Gadot told . "'We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as W🍬onder Woman – you've got nothing to worry about.' So time will tell."

It was announced eight months ago, ꦬfollowing the rollout of Gunn and Safran's plans for the future of DC, that Patty Jenkins' 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Wonder Woman 3 had been effectively canceled. Jenkins' vision for the film reportedly did not coincide with Gunn and Safran's and she had no desire to alter the script. The latter is a really interesting choice for a couple of reasons, both in terms of the character and the actor playing him.

Firstly, it's always great to see Fillion in a big role. He's been a fan favorite since his Firefly and Serenity days, and he's always a lively on screen presence. We know that the DCEU was reset, to some extent, by the events of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Flash and that Superman: Legacy is, in Gunn's own words, "the true beginning" of the new DC universe. So does T.D.K. even exist anymore? And, if so, does he still look like Nathan Fillion? But the most eyebrow-raising aspect of this casting is who Fillion is playing. In the comics,🍨 Guy Gardner is one of numerous Green Lanterns, but he's not one of the obvious characters to foreground in what will be, for m🐷any people, the first time they encounter these cosmic concepts. 

Hal Jordan and John Stewart are the two characters most associated with the Green Lantern title. Hell, you could even make a case 🍬for bringing in OG Lantern, Alan Scott. But Guy Gardner? That's a really specific choice.

Gardner was created by John Broome and Gil Kane and introduced in 1968's Green Lantern (Vol. 2𒀰) #59. 

In that issue, Hal Jordan discovers that, had he not been selected by Abin Sur to be the Green Lantern of Earth, gym teacher Gardner would have been his second choice. Hal eventually befr♍iends Guy, but a serious injury in Green Lantern #87 takes Gardner out of the Green Lantern running, with John Stewart taking on the mantle of back up Lantern instead. 

Gardner eventually r🎶ecovers from his injuries and does finally become a Lantern. Unfortunately, it's a short-lived victory. Hal's power ring explodes and traps Gardner in the Phantom Zone. When he's eventually found and recovered, he is comatose and left with severe brain damage.

Steve Englehart and Joe Staton revived the character som🦩e years later in Green Lantern #190. Finally stirring from his coma, Gardner was a different man - tougher, angrier, and prone to making some poor decisions.

During Crisis on Infinite Earths, Gardner is tasked with teaming up with a bunch of violent supervillains and destroying the moon of Qward in the Anti-Matter univer♔se. It soon becomes clear, however, that doing so would lead to the destrඣuction of reality. The other Lanterns are sent to take him down by any means necessary, leading to his eventual defeat at the hands of John Stewart - though Gardner remains a part of the Green Lantern Corps.

Since then, the comics have tended to lean into the more unstable aspects of the character. Guy Gardner can be brash, boisterous and has a tendency to start things he can't finish (like the time he tried to clean up crime in New York by punching anyone w🌄ho got in his way). He's squabbled with his fellow Lanterns, and picked fights with Lobo, Supe🗹rman, and Batman - who KO'd him fairly conclusively. He also joined the Justice League International and dated fellow JLI member Ice.

An unpredictable hero

That Guy Gardner will be the first Green💝 Lantern seen on screen in the new DCU is a really interesting choice. 

Perhaps there were concerns that a character as recognizable as Hal Jordan would steal some of Superman's thunder. After all, there's a l𒐪ot riding on Legacy, not least establishing David Corenswet's Superman following Henry Cavill's much-admired take on the Man of Steel.

More likely, however, it's because both Hal Jordan and John Stewart are going to be the joint protagonists of Lanterns, the forthcoming HBO TV show that Gunn has described as "like True Detective w♔ith a couple of Green Lanterns who are space cops watching over Precinct Earth."

Although details on that show are currently thin on the ground, Gunn has said that the ﷽show will "have a few other Lanterns peppered in🧸 there." Assuming that Gardner makes it out of Superman: Legacy alive (never an entirely safe bet with a James Gunn film) we can presumably expect to see him show up in the TV show too.

Whateꦕver the case, Guy Gardner seems like a very Nathan Fillion and very James Gunn sort of character. He's funny, unpredictable, dangerous and a more morally ambiguous quantity than Superman. It's going to be fascinating to see how🎶 these two characters get on...

For what it's worth, Corenswet and Brosnahan seem to be solid choices to portray one of DC's most iconic couples. Corenswet showed his ability to pla💜y a charming romantic lead with a secret side in Pearl, and Brosnahan's critically acclaimed performance a✱s Midge Maisel proved there are few actors who can keep up with her gift for emotionally charged banter.

According to , Superman: Legacy has "other her🎀oes to cast, such as members of a supergroup named the Authority (part of the new storyline is Superman joining a world in which superheroes already exist)."

Well, Gunn has cleared that up in a new interview with the – Blue Beetle is the first DCU character, and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Superman: Legacy will be the first DCU movie. 

Blue Beetle, the alter ego of J🐽aime Reyes, is making his big-screen debut this summer (played by Cobra Kai's Xolo Maridueña). When Jaime returns to his hometown after graduating from college, he's chosen to be the symbiote host to the Scarab, an alien being that grants him superpowers and exoskeleton armor, turning him into the Blue Beetle.  

Superman: Legacy, however, still remains shrouded in mystery. Written and directed by Gunn, the movie will follow Clark Kent in his early years as Superman, as he attempts t𝄹o reconcile his Krypton heritage with life as a human on Earth. "I begged them to have that kiss in the movie, because it was necessary to really cement their relationship. I had a kiss in Vol. 2 that I cut – it was awesome, but it came in a weird time," Gunn told . "At the end of Vol. 2, you establish the fact that they have feelings for eac💦h other pretty distinctly, but in Infinity War, we needed to establish that they were now boyfriend-girlfriend and this was a normal thing for them. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. sees Star-Lord and co. settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn't long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket's (Bradley Cooper) turbul🍌ent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket's life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

The Fantastic Four may have birthed the concept of a team as a family, and the X-Men may have perfected the concept of superheroes as a soap opera, it's the Justice League International era that wrapped it all up in a la꧂ugh-a-minute, personality driven package.

Speaking of James Gunn, he just wrapped up one of Marvel's most well-received movie trilogies in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which so far seems to have 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:stuck the landing with bot🍬h fans and critics. With its meticulously selected needle drops, quip-heavy dialogue, and character risks (what other movie features both a straight-talking raccoon and a repetitive tree?), this was no ordinary origin tale. Before it, Iron Man, Captain America, and Avengers had been very enjoyable but had by no means reinvented the wheel the way that Gunn did witౠh his weird motley crew. 

This brilliance only continued with Vol. 2, which is maybe the most underrated of the three, but continues the story in a very satisfying way. With Quill’s questions of fatherhood at the center and, of course, Baby Groot, it may not have lived up to the dizzying heights of the first movie, but it was a great jaunt deeper into this world. Now as the third movie graces the screen – and may even be the best one yet – the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Guardians of the Galaxy is one of Marvel’s rare complete stories. 

Character first

Part of its success lies in Gunn’s tendency to look inไwards first when crafting his characters. Yes, the team plays a big role in defeating Thanos while Gamora and Nebula’s past is inextricably linked to their father, but the true heart of the Guardians movies has always been the core gang, putting character firs🍌t above Marvel references and cameos. This is best exemplified in how it handles Rocket’s story. Time to reflect

Primarily, entrusting a storyteller with multiple movies is a great way to start. The Russo Brothers did this with the Avengers, and Taika Waititi does this pretty well with the Tꦯhor movies – but consistency of storytelling and tone can do ✨wonders for character development.

Then there’s the pesky matter of letting things go. Marvel has made way in recent years by introducing new characters to replace old and we’ve had our fair share of painful goodbyes too (although these ofte🍒n feelꦰ tinged with an implication that they could come back at any time). But as Gunn shows, goodbyes don’t have to mean death. You can just finish a character💝’s storytelling in a satisfying way – and leave them alone.

This isn’t a one-way relationship either. Gunn’s transition to DC could do well to head his time on the other side. While he’s got a proven pedigree at the studio – Peacemaker was one of the best shows of last year and his 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Suicide Squad reboot brought fun back to the much-maligned DC project – I hope he brings his art of🦋 creating comprehensive stories to the new role. 

Maybe we think we don’t need 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:another Superman movie or 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:another Batman movie, but if he can help infuse them with some of the fun and thrills of the Guardians, it might just be what DC needs. Naturally, a lot of skepticism follows his transition, especially after some of the projects announced feature the weird and wonderful side characte✤rs of DC. If Gunn can bring that underdog energy of proving people wrong to DC, the MCU might need to watch its throne.

We watched Guardians of the Galaxy 3 very closely to spot the major Easter eggs and Marvel references, then rounꩵded them all up below. There's a lot to discover, too, from cameos to nods to classic movies. So, for all the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 East༒er eggs, look no further than our guide.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Easter eggs

Knowhere's bar

The movie begins on Knowhere as all of the Guardians of the Galaxy ꧋adjust to life after the Holiday Special. Some are dealing better than others, with Peter Quill frequenting the bar to deal with losing the Gamora he knew and loved. However, if you look at the bar’s sign, you’ll notice that it actually looks v🍒ery familiar. It’s got the Guardians of the Galaxy title written on it.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

However, when he’s first seen flying through the sky, he looks a little bit like Superman… Given writer and director Gunn’s next project at DC is 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Superman: Legacy, it feels like it might be a deliberate nod. 

Colorful suits

When the team heads to the Orgoscope to try and find Rocket’s kill-switch code, they have to head into space. To protect them, they wear some fun colorful suits, which many thought was referencing Among Us when the first pictures landed. While Gunn shot that theory down, he clarified what his actual reference point was for the movie: Stanley Kubrick’s 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:2001: A Space Odyssey. Sharing the insight on Twitter, it’s clear to🐷 see the similarities between the Marvel movie’s costumes and those used in the classic movie.  

Cameos

Some big names have 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Guardians of the Galaxy 3 cameos. Nathan Fillion appears as Master Karja, a guard at the Orgoscope (that's the pretty gross planet made out of organic material). Fillion also appeared in the first 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Guardians of the Galaxy movie and was in a dele♌ted scene from the sequel. 

Another familiar face is one Jennifer Holland, who plays a worker at the Orgoscope. She is Emilia Harco𒆙urt in the DCU and stars in James Gunn's Peacemaker. Holland is also Gunn's real-life partner – the duo has been married since 2022. 

You also might have spotted Howard the Duck sitting at a table playing cards. He's once again voiced by Seth Green, who also played the character in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:What If…? and the previous Guardians movies. 

Sylvester Stallone also returns as his Ravager character Stakar Ogord, while 🌠Michael Rooker is back very briefly as Yondu. 

Christopher Fairbank also returns as the Broker, introduced in the first Guardians, while Judy🔯 Greer voices the terrifying War P🌟ig.

In the second 澳洲幸运5♋开奖号码历史查询:Guardians of the Galaxy 3 post-ꦇcredits scene, Peter Quill and his grandfather Jason sit at the breakfast table together bonding over cereal – and complaining about a neighbour whose lawn Peter mows. In the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Mantis and Drax kidnapped Bacon and took him to Knowhere to try and lift Peter's spirits. 

Phyla-Vell's introduction

Interestingly eno✱ugh, though, in the comics, Phyla-Vell is actually the daughter of the first Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell. It's unclear at the moment if Phyla-Vell has similar heritage in the MCU, but she could end up becoming a key character indeed. 

'Do You Realize?'

The song 'Do You Realize?&apo♚s; by Flaming Lips makes a striking appearance partway through the film, the line "Do you realize, we're floating in space?" playing as Quill looks glumly out at the stars. Anyone who knows the song well (which was adopted as the Official Rock Song of ♚Oklahoma between 2009 and 2013, fact fans) likely felt a rush of dread at its inclusion, however, its most famous lyric being, "Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die."

Given the wide speculation that one or more main c🍸haracters would be killed in the film, it felt incredibly portentou🌞s. In a neat twist, however, the song cuts to dialogue, drowning out that line. Now, perhaps that was just a choice made in the editing room, but it feels like a smart bit of foreshadowing on Gunn's part, given that, in fact, all the lead characters survive the film.

There's no time like the present to get up to speed, though, and that's where we come in. We've compiled a list of the five must-see MCU entries that we think you need to watch before taking a trip to the multiplex to catch up with Star-Lord and co. Hopefully, these picks should help to refresh your memory and clear up any confusion that might arise from the final Guardians movie – and the good news is that this guide is completely spoiler-free.

Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2

Hey, we didn’t say it wouldn’t be obvious. 2014’s 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Guardians of the Galaxy introduced the world (and the wider MCU) to human-turned-space mercenary Star-Lord (Chr🦂is Pratt), Thanos’ adopted daughter Gamora (Zoe Saldaña), Drax (Dave Bautista), loud-mouthed raccoon Rocket (voiced by Bradley Coope༒r), and sentient tree Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel).

The ragtag team took on Ronan the Accuser after coming into contact with the Power Stone, as well as Gamora’s half-sister Nebula. Now on Thanos’ radar, the group have their murky criminal records expunged and are🅰 christened the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The sequel – which takes place just after the original film – continues the Guardians’ story, focusing on Star-Lord’s human origi🦂ns after being abducted from Earth. Along the way, the movie digs into his daddy issues with living planet Ego (Kurt Russell), integrates empath Mantis (Pom Klementieff) into the new interaction of the Guardians, and cements Gamora and Star-Lord as a couple. Spoiler: it’s pretty short-lived.

It should go without saying why these are must-watches before Guardians of the Galaxy 3. It’s the end of 🎉the trilogy – so you really should watch the preceding two movies.

Avengers: Infinity War

The Guardians of the Galaxy’s next major appearance comes in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Avengers: Infinity War. Here, they encounter Chris Hemsworth’s Thor – the start of a fruitful friendship 🅠– and are dragged into the battle for the universe with Thanos. Long story short: Surly teওenager Groot, Star-Lord, and Drax are all snapped into dust by Thanos. That’s not before the Mad Titan kidnaps and kills Gamora to obtain the Soul Stone.

This is a crucial chapter in the Guardians’ lifespan, not ♈only expanding on Mantis’ role in the group, but also killing off most of its key members. It’s a traumatic event that appears to drive much of Guardians 3’s plot with Star-Lord.

Avengers: Endgame

Remaining Guardians member Rocket picks up the pieces to pull o🐬ff a time travel heist with the Avengers, nabbing each Infinity Stone and constructing an Infinity Gauntlet to🎉 hold them all. 

Poking around in the past does have consequences, both good and bad. 2014-era Nebula and Gamora head into the ‘present day’ of the MCU in 2023. Present-day Nebula manages to convince 2014-era Gamora to betray Thanos. After Thanos is defeated and the rest of the Guardians brought back from the dead, she departs – leaving a lovelorn Star-Lord to wrangle with feelings for a woman who isn’t technically the person he fell in love with. It's a plot thread set to be picked up once more in Guardians♌ 3 if the trailers are any indication.

Thor also joins the Guardians (temporarily, as covered in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Thor: Love and Thunder. All you need to know is the Asgardian joined the team then departed as꧅ quick as a thunderclap).

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

In the grand scheme of things, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special isn't too important. It does, however, update viewers on how the Guardians are doing since Endgame: they’ve bought Knowhere from the Collector, Star-Lord is moping around about Gamora, and the they even have a new member among their ranks (Cosmo the Spacedog, voiced by Borat 2’s Maria Bakalova). The Holiday Special also gives Star-Lord new blasters, plus dropping another bom𒅌bshell: Mantis is his half-si♕ster.

Speaking to GamesRadar+, Chris Pratt says that he’s open t𝓰o a future with Star-Lord on the big screen, but only if 🌠it does justice to the world Gunn has created. 

"It would be strange to continue Peter’s story without James," Pratt says of a potential return without Gunn leading the charge. "He's done such a masterful job in the first three films. We really found tꦑhe voice of Peter Quill together and without him, obviously, I would never have had this op✤portunity. He writes it, he directs it, he dreams up the music, it’s his imagination on screen. So, to continue to tell the story, it would really be important to honor what he's done in the first three films and to honor what the fans have grown to love about the character and not simply do it because people might show up to pay for it, you know?"

Pratt continues: "I don't want to be cynical in the approach and if that's the case, I just woul🍰dn't do it at all. So maybe down the road if somꦬething makes sense I would do it but it would really have to check a lot of the right boxes."

Part of this determination comes from the very special relationship that Pratt developed working with Gunn on these movies. 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Suicide Squad director firܫst cast him back in 2013, changing the actor’s career trajectory from comedy roles in Parks & Recreation to a Hollywood leading man. 

"We've both grown up so much," Pratt says of their partnership. "We've been through a lot together, the ups and the downs, we've been there for each other by just being tog▨ether for that many years under the circumstances of filming a movie, which is really a pressure cooker. It's a true crucible as you're spending 15 or 16 hours a day on set, away from your family, isolated from your loved ones, and in a way you become a family. It's a bit like the circus. It's been a hell of a ride."

Pratt adds that the✅y've grown as people outside of the movie too. "It's been 10 years," he continues, thoughtfully. "Not only making the films and releasing films, and promoting the films, but also the big life moments in between – the babies being born, the weddings, and all of that stuff. Our friendship has just been solidified over and over again to the point that we don't ever have to work again and we're still going to be calling each other all the time and talking."

It’s not just Pratt’s relationship with G𝐆unn that’s grown over the years, either. Looking back on the journey of these movies, the actor is keen to share that this conclusion to the t𒆙rilogy is first and foremost a love letter to the fans who’ve been with them along the way.

"I really love the idea that 10 years have passed since the first film and fans will have grown up watching these movies," he says of 🌺the trilogy’s ending. "I think it's a more emotional ride than the previous two [but] it's exciting to me that people who were kids when the first movie came out are ♎now young adults and will emotionally be ready. They've matured alongside the franchise in a way. This is an emotional send-off that feels like it's specifically made for them."

Having popped up in two Avengers films, one Thor and a Holiday Special, the Guardians have hardly been idle since 2017’s Volume 2. Small wonder, then, that they’re all a little battle-weary🦂 as Vol. 3 begins, their galaxy-saving taking a back seat to the everyday demands of setting up a new HQ on Knowhere and, in Star-Lord’s (Chris Pratt) case, drowning his Gamora-related sorrows.

But after Sovereign commando Adam (a gold-hued Will Poulter) zooms in to dish out some superpowered payback, our favourite bunch of A-holes find themselves united behind a new cause: to find the genetic passcode that will save the wounded Rocket’s (Bradley Cooper) life. The wise-cracking planet-hopping that follows may have a familiar ring, but it always feels like there is something important at stake – unlike, say, in the MCU’s other recent venture into three-quel territory, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

It’s the delving into Rocket’s tortured backstory, though, that really enables Gunn to take risks and chances. By detailing the raccoon’s journey from infant guinea pig to genetically modified exp𒁏eriment, Guardians 3 oꦫffers nothing so much as a broadside against animal testing; the big bad pulling the strings here is the eugenics-obsessed High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji).

Poignant scenes involving Rocket’s fellow sentient lab▨ rats – a rabbit, otter and walrus equipped with various robotic body augmentati😼ons – will likely be distressing for younger audiences, while a ‘Counter-Earth’ populated by human-animal hybrids is The Island of Doctor Moreau in all but name. The result is a rare franchise blockbuster with an ethical conscience, albeit one whose tonal shifts could be tricky to negotiate for those solely wanting guilt-free popcorn entertainment.

So comfortable are the leads now in their spacesuits that they have the feel of a cosily familial ensemble. If there’s a standout, though, it’s Karen Gillan’s Nebula, her surly cyborg here boasting a priceless comic timing that was hardly imaginable back in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the original Guardians.

"I always thought that Poison Ivy was really fun. So maybe something like that would be cool," she says in the new issue of with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on the cover. Gillan goes on to call the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise 🌠the "gift that keeps on giving," because she didn't think her tenure as Nebula would last very long: "I was under the impression I was signing up for eight days of filming on the first film. And then it just gradually kept getting extended. And here we are, nine or 10 years later."

As Guardians director James Gunn shifts his focus to DC Studios, Gillan doesn't know what th🅷e future holds for Nebula. "I just genuinely love this character so muc🍒h, and I feel like there’s just an endless amount of things that could be done with her," she goes on to say. "So, yeah, I would obviously love to explore more, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen. I’m waiting to see just as much as everyone else [laughs]."

Gillan is also known for her role as Amy Pond in the Doctor Who franchise, a primary companion to the Eleventh Doctor played by ꧋Matt Smith.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3, which concludes the p�🐼�opular trilogy, hits theaters on May 3 in the UK and May 5 in the US.

In response to a fan asking if Jimmy Olsen will be in the movie, Gunn simply replied on : "ofc," AKA "of cours♋e." 

Jimmy Olsen is a friend of Clark Kent's in the comics and works for the Daily Planet as a photojournalist. Considering Superman: Legacy will reporte♊dly involve Clark working as a young journalist, with fam𒁏iliar characters like ⛄Lois Lane featuring too, this isn't a massive surprise. 

Jimmy has appeared in live-action before in multiple projects, played by Marc McClure in the Christopher Reeves Superman movies (and the Supergirl spin-off film) and Michael Cassidy in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. 

There are no casting details for Superman: Legacy just yet, with 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:G🍌unn debunking rumors that Jacob Elordi or 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Logan Lerman would play the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Man of Steel. The director is also penning the script and recently shared an update that the movie is☂ in pre-production.

"Haven’t had a single talk with a single actor about the role," he tweeted. "Just m𒆙aking private lists, prepping material for audition🥃s."

I don't want to give away any spoilers, but there was a scene where I get saved by Wonder Woman during a conflagration with some bad guys. The movie, helmed by It director Andy Muschietti, sees Ezra Miller return as Barry Allen, AKA the Flash, alongside multiple iterations of Batman – as well as Affleck,☂ Michael Keaton is also returning to the role. As part of that announcement, DC Studios co-head James Gunn reiterated earlier assertions that games would be part of the larger DCU, and he suggested that actors who play heroes in live-action films will likely cross over into TV and animation, too - which has led many to assume that this actor crossover will apply to games, too, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:an ide♏a that's already drawing c🧸riticism.

"This would have been a nightmare for us on Midnight Suns," creative director Jake Solomon says in a . "I understand the desire (I think) but movies and games are so, so different.
