Speaking on a recent cast panel for the series's 20th anniversary celebrations, Judge was asked about how his experiences on God of War differed fr🔯om his previous acting jobs. He explained that "it was interesting for me," because elsewhere, there had often ꦆbeen a strict on-set hierarchy, "and almost from day one, there was none of that" on the God of War set."

"There was no hierarchy. Everyone treated each other with respect, and talked to each other like adults, and respected the wo﷽rk that every individual 👍was doing."

Judge went on to outline just how valuable that experience was for him personally. Through his counselling, Judge came to realize that "it's not about squashing people, keeping people down. It's about empowering people, l🤪istening to people and making them feel heard. The God of War set was the🧔 first time I ever saw it in practice."

"Every morning it looked like everyone wanted to be there, which was something really weird for me. There was no-one complaining. People were happy to be there. It was such a collective. It really was the first place that I had ever been that was that supp𓃲ortive, and nurturing, and caring, and loving. The⛎re's a figure in a dress with long hair that looks to be letting out a screech, so my guess is these are the game's harpies that fly around and shriek at you before swooping down for an attack. Iteration is important, folks, these drawings were clearly just the first step of many.

The centaur and cerberus are easier to make out because of their shapes, but again, they look very simple here compared to the excellent꧑ designs in the final game. There's a snake-like th🎶ing, really it's just a wiggly tube, that could be a wraith, or it could be the hydra you fight right at the start; it's honestly too simple a design to tell.

All in all, this is a fascinating look at how 🐬game development starts in the early stages – simple, quick ideas that help form a picture in the mind before concept artists and designers go off and turn them into something your parents would actually put up on the fridge.

I first got into God of War with the PS3 remasters of 1 and 2, and I, too, would love to see these games be playable on a PS5. It turns out this wasn't always the case, as in an early draft of the story, Kratos actually did die.

In an with MinnMax, God of War Ragnarok&apo🐽s;s narrative director Matt Sophos reveals that in a very early draft, the gruff protagonist was killed by Thor at the very beginning of the game. This wouldn't be the last we'd see of him, though, it would have a massive impact on how the rest of the game played out. "It wasn't a permanent death," Sophos explains, "he would get pulled out of Hel by Atreus, but now twenty years have passed, it was going to be a big time jump."

According to Sophos, this version of the story was scrapped because it would've felt repetitive and undermined the themes the team was going for. "As we were developing the story, we knew that we wanted the story to be one about letting go and changing. Norse mythology is all about fate and prophecy, and we wanted to say that that's bull****. Nothing is written that can't be unwritten as long as you're willing to change, make changes in your life and then you're not bound to fate. And so when we landed on that, when we knew that was the story we wanted to tell, we knew that Kratos couldn&aꦿpos;t die."

If you've gone up against Thor early in Ragnarok, you'll know that he, in a sense, does kill Kratos (then instantly revives him) in one of the game's coolest and most shocking sc꧟enes. Sophos says that this wasn't a nod to the team's previous inteꦦntion to have the character die for real at this point. He also r✱evealed that the original idea was to have Thor revive the player only if he managed to defeat them, but ultimately the developer decided it was a moment every fan should be able to enjoy.

Earlier this week, MinnMax interviewed God of War Ragnarok narrative director Matt Sophos and story lead Richard Gaubert, seen just below. If a player gets stuck in a particular place for example, Sophos says, the "cheapest" solution for the developer is to chuck in a few voice lines from a character to help them on their way. This is probably how we ended up with so many puzzle solutions coming from companions in Ragnaro🐼k, then.

So God of War Ragnarok's companions spoiling puzzles was as much of a surprise to Sony Santa Monica's development team as it was to players. From the sounds of things though, it doesn't seem like we'll be getting a patch to adjust the frequency of the puzzle solution lines. However, Ragnarok did launch with a setting that tweaks the time until companions reve꧂al puzzle solutions, a halfway solution to the problem.

What, did you think the Valkyrie commander or legendary Berserkers were going to be easy to beat? Probably not, though that one Berserker didn't have to be such an infuriating fight. But you🎃 might not expect a random bugger in a cave to present such a severe difficulty spike, and you'd ✱be all wrong and a bag of chips. 

Ormstunga is like a sleeper boss, I sw𓆉ear. He looks like a regular old wretch but packs a punch to rival the Aesir themselves. You roll up thinking this miniboss will go down in a few runic attacks and bam – you get clawed back to your last checkpoint. Ormstunga is wily, has long combos, and loves to weave in ranged attacks. If this thing had more in the way of AoE, it'd be a weapon to surpass Metal Gear. He's a nightmare, and not particularly fun, to fight toe-to-toe, so this is one boss cheese I'll wholeheartedly endorse. (Note: I play Destiny 2 and therefore endorse virtually every boss cheese imaginable.)

Heading straight for the cookbook's Jotunnheim chapter (he is a giant, after all), the answer to that is 'yes'. We see none of Tyr's process in the game, so I wasꦉ left to my lonesome and the book in my quest to make a delicious Norse stew. One thing that the book does very well is group recipes into realms, but it also throws in specific herb and spice mixtures from some key places too. There's a Jotunn Sꦅpice Mixture for this Venison Stew recipe that needs creating first, for example, and the food would be very plain and boring (in taste as well as meaning) without it.

Týr describes the mixture as one he learned from his trave💝lling days in the northlands of Jotunnheim, and it adds an extra fun bi🍌t of lore while you pound some herbs and seeds into a fine powder. (I now have a jar full of this stuff, so I'm committed to more recipes.)

Týr sets the scene for this recipe with some story-tel꧟ling f𓄧lare, reminiscing about joining hunting parties in Midgard where deer abounded. The lands were so plentiful, in fact, that the giants took their existing love of soups and stews and added the venison.

Jotunn spice mixture made, and smothered over the venison - please note that I did not hunt this myself - it's time for cooking. The book makes this really simple to d🧸o by breaking up the instructions nicely. You're never in danger of getting lost; the more elaborate text is reserved for Týr's introduction and description.

Speaking of which, the guiding light describes this as an easy dish to be made on the move as all you need is a fire and a big pot - like we see in Sindri's house. And this is largely true; it really does feel like the perfect stew for essentially throwing stuff in and forgetting about it for a few hours. It's recently been revealed that the God of War TV show is a step closer to being made after it secured a showrunner. Things start strong with Pitbull, aka Mr. Worldwide, takingꦉ on the role of Kratos - the pair are both bald after all - followed by Stranger Things' Gaten♊ Matarazzo (Dustin) as Atreus, Kim Kardashian as Freya, X-Men's Beast as Brok, Michael Cera as Sindri, Shia Labeouf as Mimir, and finally James Cordon as Baldur. Things then escalated when another Reddit user decided to share a fake image seemingly from IGN that "confirmed" Chris Pratt had been cast as Kratos. YouTuber has shared several files found hidden within God of War Ragnarok's files, most of which are cut dial✃ogue. According to the video, the game was supposed to have a slightly different ending in relation to Surtr and Sinmara. We won't go into too much detail, just in case, but the general idea is that using Surtr to restore Ragnarok doesn't work, and so Kratos and At♏reus must now go on a new quest to find Sinmara -  something that doesn't happen in the final version of the game. 

It seems developer Santa Monica St🤡udio was somewhat committed to this idea until a certain point in development. As the video shows, Sinmara had her own character model that can also be found in the game's files. Just like Surtr, Sinmara has a hole in her chest which is where Surtr's heart resides. Not only this but actress and musician Janina Gavankar is credited for the role, although the video doesn't have any recordings of the performance. 

This isn't all that Omega Fantasy and the other God of War Ragnarok modders found, though. Beyon🌟d the Surtr and Sinmara storyline, another quest line was found following the game's ending. Considering the cut content above, the post-game quest would have seen Kratos finding both Surtr and Sinmara's hearts to reunite them in the Spark of the World. This doesn't mean much for the future of the series, considering it never actually made it into the final game, but it is interesting to see what could have been.

Speaking to in a new interview, God of War Ragnarok director Eric Williams revealed that killing Kratos was never on the table. "Oh no, we di🤪d﷽ not consider killing Kratos for many reasons," Williams said when asked about whether there was a version of Ragnarok where Kratos met his end. 

"But the main one was tha๊t that’s not the story we’re trying to 𓂃tell. The story that we wanted to tell was this idea of this parent-child unit coming together and then becoming strong enough that they know each other, and they know that they made each other better, and that if you were to break them apart, you’d still feel like they’d be okay," Williams continued. 

The Ragnarok director then spoke about how death "creates a different set of emotions" through grief and regret. Instead, Kratos watches Atreus leave at the end of the advent🌠ure, and for Williams, "that's a natural progression that doesn't have such a heavy weight at the end of it."

As for the future of developer Sony Santa Monica, t♔he studio has a few projects in development right now, but we don't know if any of them are related to another God of War game. Williams, for what it's worth, said it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing if Sony Santa Monica was to becoꩵme known as the 'God of War studio,' so don't be too surprised🌃 if another one of these titles is a new game with Kratos or Atreus.

On December 14 it was revealed that the God of War series for Amazon Prime was a step closer to reality after it secured a head writer, executive producer, and showrunner♌. 

Following this news, the actor responsible for bringing Atreus to life in both God of War 2018 and God of War Ragnarok, Sunny Suljic, took to and said: "I swear to god if I don’t get booked for this…" In a follow-up tweet, however, Suljic r🃏eflected on their previous tweet, adding: "Unless I’m too old noﷺw I guess?" 

Although not much is known about the upcoming series, we do know that it's set to follow the plot of God of War from 2018 and not Kratos' earlier adventures. What this means for Atreus is that it's likely the series will at least start with the younger version of Atreus, and not the older version that appeared in God of War Ragnarok, so Suljic may actually be too old for the role now - the devs already had to make adjustments around Suljicﷺ's voice as he grew older during recording.

Atreus isn't the only character that's got fans wondering about casting. A couple of weeks ago, fans began debating about who would be best to play Kratos in a live-action adaptation of Santa Monica Studio's action-adventure game. Famous WWE wrestlers Triple H and Braun Strowman both came up in discussion despite the obvious answer -  Kratos' current performer Christopher Judge - being right in front💫 of us.

For now, we'll just have to wait and see whether Judge or Suljic make a return in the Amazon series. If they don't return to their original roles, there's always a chance they could make a cameo just like the actors behind Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us will in the HBO show adaptation.

God of War Ragnarok fans are casting everyone from Triple H to Christopher Judge himself as Kratos.

A few of the Berserkers can be annoying due to their evasive AI, area-of-effect attacks, ranged spam, summons, or status effects, but only Svipdagr and her two sisters pack all of these elements and so much more into one impressively aggravating encounter. I spent hours of my life getting pulverized by these three (on the game's second-highest difficulty, a step 🀅down from the hardest because I'm not a madman), and judging from the state of the God of War and Ragnarok-specific subreddits, I'm not alone. 

"There are fights that are difficult and fun, but this one is absolutely unbalanced and not fun for me," write꧂s , echoing my thoughts. 

"I am quite certain this boss will go down in infamy as one of the most difficult and badly🐭 designed boss fights in the history of games," says . "It is absolutely atrocious." 

"The triple Berserker fight is bu🍨llshit," 🌠 neatly summarizes.

In a vacuum, neither Svipdagr nor her sisters are that tough to handle. Together, they are a headache on legs. Svipdagไr pummels you with hammer combos that propel her to you like she's rocking the Commando perk from the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and she regularly rushes in with unblockable AoE strikes. The thing is, I actually like Svipdagr, so it was pretty cool to see the Berserker King pull out her moves in a less chaotic encounter. 

It's the sisters that turn this fight into, to quote Freya, the vilest filth in hell. If you try to focus on Svipdagr, these two will sit back and idly chuck obnoxious spells at you while you fight to keep your cranium hammer-free. We're talking enormous area denial, tracking ice shards and fireballs, ling🐽ering ground attacks, and homing bubbles that you can either die to or pop with a ranged weapon, except you often can't pop them because the automatic lock-on keeps getting stuck to enemies you aren't targeting even though you already adjusted the camera settings in a fit of blind fury which would make mid-Spartan Rage Kratos look like a calm and reasonable person. Not that I would know. 

In my experience, God of War: Ragnarok's combat tends to break down when there are too many enemies in one area because its close-up camera and floaty lock-on struggle to keep up with the action, and this Berserker fight is the most egregious example. It's virtually impossible to keep all three sisters on-screen at the same time, so you inevitably end up dying to random bullshit that flies in out of nowhere. Even when you can see it coming, there's no guarantee that the few counters available to you will even work correctly. Everything about it just feels like a gamble, with the only viable solution being to burn one half of the fight down as fast as possible and hope you don't die first. The only silver lining is that the Sisters of Illska share a health bar, and quite frank🥃ly they can also share the trash compactor where I'd put their severed ghostly heads if I could. 

I'm sure some people like this fight, and that's fine; those people are entitled to their wrong opinion.  If nothing else, it's heartening to learn that I wasn't the only person who was absolutely sick to death of this terrible trio. If we're lucky, the fight will be update🅷d to spare future completionists the trouble. Here's my humble suggestion: delete the fight entirely and in its place just add a text prompt encouraging players to get up, walk away from the TV, and do something th🧸at's more fun than the boss that used to be here, like headbutting a can opener.

While that first tweet mentions Braun Strowman, he doesn't seem to have been nearly as widely fancast for Kratos as Triple H. God of War Ragnarok is now the biggest PlayStation launch in history, and it seems the franchise can only get bigger from here.

In fact, one user in the comments section of the Reddit post even claims they heard an audio cue for the tooth landing on the ice right after the blow from Kratos. Talk about attention to detail, because if this is true, that'🌳s multiple departments at Sony Santa Monica collaborating to put this tiny detail in Ragnarok.

Seeing players already shredding God of War Ragnarok’s biggest challenge is pretty satisfyi🦹ng. While the main story won’t provide too ma🌃ny really hard challenges, the game kicks things up a notch in the endgame and features some very difficult boss fights. Even if you finish the story, you still have tons of challenges ahead of you.

Back in September 2021, Sony Santa Monica debuted the story-centric trailer for God of War Ragnarok, seen just below. The user theorized thﷺat becau𝐆se the trailer preceded a discussion of Tyr with a warning of Odin's tricks, Tyr was in fact Odin in disguise, or at the very least, there would be something significantly wrong with the Norse God of War in the final game.

Those who have completed God of War Ragnarꩲok will now know that yes, Tyr is in fact Odin in disguise. The big reveal comes near the conclusion of the sequel, when Tyr dramatically stabs Brok to death and shows his true identity, nearly breaking up our banᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚd of heroes entirely in the process.

It's a⛄mazing that one player cottoned onto this hint from Sony Santa Monica over a year ago, and upon reflection, it's pretty brazen of the developer to put this in the trailer in💛 the first place. The God of War studio really was dropping some massive hints for the direction of the sequel, and most of us just ignored them completely.

That was revealed by Sony earlier today🔯 on November 23, via the tweet just below. Now that God of War Ragnarok has sold 5.1 million copies in its first week after launch, it's officially become the fastest-selling PlayStation first-party game after one week ever.

Speaking to IGN's Podcast Beyond earlier this week, God of War Ragnarok director Eric Williams spoke about Odin's trickery in disguising himself as other characters. Williams revealed there's one point in the game where Odin is𝐆 disguised as another character, that only he knows about.

This would be when Kratos and Atreus first reach Svartalfheim by boat, early on in Ragnarok's opening hours. Williams revea♈ls that Odin actually makes an appearance in this scene, as the Dwarven NPC that spits over the side of the brid꧋ge towards Kratos and Atreus in their boat, just before the big alarm rings out to alert others of their presence. 

Upon closer examination, the dwarf in question does 𒁃actually bear some resemblance to the All Father. Oddly enough, they both have the same shaped head, and the dwarf also appe☂ars to be wearing an eyepatch, over the same eye that Odin lost when he peered into the weird void, no less.

It's actually very easy to imagine Odin spitting at Kratos and Atreus while in another form, as his very subtle way of giving them the finger without the duo knowing it's even him. This Dwarven NPC isn't the only time Odin plays dress up as another character,🐓 as those who have finished Ragnarok will rightly know.

All credit goes to Speclizer, famed♏ among the God of War and The Last of Us communities for🦄 intriguing in-game discoveries. This time, though, the modder has turned their attention towards retro-fying Kratos and Atreus's new adventure in the Nine Realms.

To accomp༒lish this makeover, Speclizer has basically gone to town downgrading all the character models in God of War Ragnarok. Kratos and Thor now look like they've been roughly cut ou✨t of stone, and Atreus has got half his body missing in the opening section, for some reason.

It's not just Atreus that has half his body missing, either. When Freya turns up to fight the duo near the beginning of Ragnarok, the former Valkyrie Queen is also missing the vast majority of her body. Hey, rather than a catastrophic bug caused by this downgrade, maybe this is ꦦactually an intricate throwback to when games were constructed wit♏hin slightly tighter technical confines. 

The environments have also been deconstructed around the mꦯain characters. Speclizer has made it so the various pots and pans in Kratos and Atreus's home now look endearingly bloc꧒ky, and the surrounding Midgard area is peppered with jagged bits of snow.

If you've been following God of War Ragnarok for a while, you might remember a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:modder got its unreleased ph✃oto modeও working. That modder was in fact Speclizer, who revealed that the unfinished ꦫmode was very similar to the one 2018's God of War eventually received. In a tweet, Jessica Mao shared her disappointment at being left out of the credits for the critically acclaimed title. "Unf🐽ortunately, my name is not in the credits, and apparently i🃏t can't be added in a patch update," Mao wrote. 

The composer worked full-time as a music 🍃production intern at God of War developer Santa Monic Studio from June to August 2021 and contributed to the editing, arrangement, and implementation of music for the Freya chase scene and the Thor boss fight.

According to Mao, she was told that her contribution didn't meet the "minimum criteria" necessary for an in-game credi🃏t. "This was incredibly disappointing and discouraging for me to learn, and I'd hate for anyone else to go through it", 💧Mao said. 

In a follow-up tweet, she asked that developers credit everyone who works on a game regardless of the scope of their role. "Game devs, please credit EVERYONE who participates in the development of a game," she said, adding🐓, "It only makes sense."

Many God of War fans replied with messages of support forꦅ Mao, including Sean LaValle, a senior audio tecꦉhnical designer at Santa Monic Studio. "I fully agree everyone who contributed to a project should be credited," LaValle wrote. He also said that he will "definitely ask about this" in the hope that Mao's name can still be included, but added that "it may indeed be too late."

Let's hope the issue gets swiftly resolved so that Mao gets the recognition she deserves and we don't see others 🦂having to jump through "minimum criteria" hurdles in the future.

Across the Realms is a quest that begins in Midgard as Kratos discovers a makeship camp and attempts to track down the people that made it. The quest takes players ꦫthroughout the realms, locating ingredients to make the campers' favourite dish, the locations marked by a heart. Upon returning to the camp with the ingredients, Mimir tells Kratos ꦰthe story of Jari and Somr.

In real life, Jari and Somr are Jake Snipes and Sam Handrick, two Santa Monic⛄a Studio developers. In a thread on Twitter, Handrick talks about how the two met, became close friends, and fell in love. He discusses how "we'd talk about how much we'd love to leave some symbol of us in Ragnarok. Some indication within this game thatꦛ had been the reason we'd first met, our first game made together. He once suggested simply a heart, with our initials in Norse runes, carved into this world we made."

Snipes died in 20﷽20 due to complications from epilepsy. When Handrick eventually returned to work on Ragnarok, he "wanted it to be everything [Jake] deserved. And I hoped I could leave some piece of him within it." He went to director Eric Williams, who had been an important part of their relationship, asking if the team could include a memorial to him within the game, and says "he made it so much more."

The campfire that Kratos returns to at the end of the quest never stops burning. Handrick says "I wanted this story to be one many queer people know: journeying through a world that doesn't always understand you to find a plꦑace that truly feels like home."
