THQ makes Dawn of War II official - set for Spring '09
Non-linear single-player exp🃏erience and fully co-op multiꩲplayer campaign for sequel
🐷Well, we knew it was coming,ꦫ but THQ has finally officially revealed Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II.
The sequel is in development at Relic - for PC - which hౠandled the original game, and that was a title that featured ideas that paved the way for the studio's acclaimed RTS Company of Heroes.
According to first official details, Dawn of War II features a non-linear single-player campaign and a full co-op multiplayer campaign. THQ says that Space Marine an💖d Orkz factions feature - which we already knew - but hints that additional races WILL appear in the game.
The se🐷quel is built on an enhanced version of Relic's Essence Engine ꦰ2.0, which apparently is hot shit:
"Powered by the re-vamped Essence Engine 2.0, the next evolution of Relic's propr🔴ietary game engine made famous in the award winning Company of Heroes, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II will deliver fast-paced RTS action with ferocious melee and ranged combat in fully destructible environments," the publisher enthuses.
And folks that bought Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - S🔯oulstorm will get to participate in an invitation-only multiplayer beta program for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II set to take place at a future date.
