Infectiously upbeat if slightly superficial, Jes Benstock’s documentary celebrates Andrew Logan, British artist and “naughty auntie” behind the long running ‘Alternative Miss World’ show. Mounting a backstage account of 2009’s event alongside footage of Logan’s earlier alt-art hits, Benstock shakes up talking heads, animations and archive material in the anythinggoes spirit of AMW. The film doesn’t 🍌go deep on politics, but Logan’s gregarious presence provides plentiful pleasures in this heartfelt homage to a warm, wily art-world one-off.
