Return Of The Living Dead (1985)

A gang of post punk teenagers are terror🤡ise🐭d by the living dead.

Why it scares me: I'm attracted to Linnea Quꦉigley's Trash before /and/ after she dies. The horror. The horror.

See No Evil (2006)

A groꦕup of troubled teens renovate a hotel that isn't as abandoned as it seems.

Why it scares me: It stars a WWE Wrestler, it was shot by an ex-porno director, and I lovﷺe it. That's terrifying.

Sleepaway Camp (1983)

Kids and carers alike are killed in this w💛eirdo spin on the Friday The 13th template.

Why it scares me: The f💧inal five minutes reveal the most terrifyin♒g twist ever committed to celluloid. Ballsy.

Suspiria (1977)

A new student has a very difficult time at a dance school th🐲at appears to be run ไby witches.

Why it scares me: Maggots, magic, curses, dog-maulings, prolongue⛎d stabbings and a nerve-shredding thrash-metal soundtrack. Psychotic and psychedelic.

The Baby's Room (2006)

A young couple's baby monitor transmits images of a mysterious ethereal figure wanderi♋ng around their new house.

Why it scares me: The Lynch lite parallel -realit🔜y theme and perfectly bไalanced, prickly jump-scares. Mostly, though, baby monitors are just wrong.

Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer (1986)

Blue-cꦑollar slayer picks victims at random, tutor🌠ing his friend in how to kill but avoid arrest.

Why it scares me: Henry isn't a demon, a ghost, a monster or a charismatic, Hollywoodised, media-friendly murdeꦺrer. He's real - and he does it to relieve bo📖redom.

Ginger Snaps (2000)

A late blooming teenage girl finally begins to undergo pu🐼🀅berty, but are the changes natural or caused by the strange creature that bit her?

Why it scares me: Because I'm a man, and the idea of the menstrual cycle is obviously alien and ho𒉰rrifying to my gender. Plus, I'm🐟 terrified as to why I still find Ginger hot when she's develops a tail.

Arachnophobia (1990)

A South American spider is accidently transported to a small American town, where it mates with a normal spider. Their deadly offspring quickly threatens to overwhelm the local population.

Why it scares me: Because it can turn normal people into arachnophobes within a single viewing. The scene with the spider crawlling out of popcorn and🍬 up someone's nose still makes me🐼 shudder

Plague of the Zombies (1966)

A country doctor asks his friend to visit after villagers begin to die from a mysterious epidemic. He and his daughter arrive to find the dead won't stay buried.

Why it scares me: A tight script, great actors and timeless set design create an atmosphere of death and sickness that pervades every scene. It gets under your skin.
