The days of these regular SingStar releases (we've had Pop, '80s, Anthems, Party and more) are numbered, with PS3 SingStar around the corner. Sony promises that all the songs we🌸 could ever want to sing will be downloadable online, like the biggest karaoke machine in t🐟he world.
In the meantime though, we've got this selection of '90s chart-botherers, and it's a good, ifꦏ slightly bland mix. There are cheesy tunes like U Can't Touch This, Barbie Girl (note - it is impossible to sing this in a dignified way if you're over a certain age) and, oh dear, Achy Breaky꧑ Heart. Perfect if you're suffering post-pub angst is Everybody Hurts, likewise Radiohead's Creep. The Crash Test Dummies' Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm is also included - it's surprisingly difficult to "mmm" in tune.
In terms of the single- and multipla♋yer options, nothing at all has changed. Against friends, you can choose to pass the mic (each taking turns to sing a c🍨ouple of lines), duet or battle for points, which is our personal favourite. A chart keeps track of the high scores you notch up for singing in tune.
We could do without Wet Wet Wet, Savage Garden and M People, but even with them dragging down the quality, this is another decent karaoke 🍬compilation.
