Set against the backdrop of LCD Soundsystem's last gig at Madison Square Gardens, Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern's documentary on frontman James Murphy's retirement can be pretentiously introspective, but also profoundly poignant.

Told through gig footage, an interview with writer Chuck Klosterman, and a few bizarre (yet endearing) structured reality scenes, its main story is Murphy, now 43, coming to terms with “disturbingly normal” post-band life.

L♈ikeable, deadpan and refreshingly self-aware, the inner turꩲmoil and obvious regret of the ageing hipster makes this not only a sad farewell to a great band, but to life as Murphy knows it.
