Rumor: GTA V casting underway, franchise moving to LA

GTA 5 is happening; this much we can guarantee. As for where it's happening and who it will star, Take-Two and Rockstar aren't ready to say. Luckily for us inquisitive types, the internet is full of impatient, web savvy fans, and one by the name of Superannuation hasꦑ dug up casting details suggesting GTA V is being developed under the code name RUSH, and it will betaking place inLos Angeles.

Earlier this week,Superannuation toissued by Rockstar's go-to motion capture talent agency, Telsey + Company. Though 🐬GTA V itself is never mentioned by name, the offbeat, satirical character descriptions reveal a cast befitting of a standard GTA series.

Examplesinclude:

Kevin De Silva: 18, Albert's fat, FPS playing gamer son. Smokes a lot of weed, has anxiety issues and a card 𒁏for a bad back, very soft, very opinionated. Into making racist comments while playing online.

Chad: 29,ܫ pretty boy misogynist Beverly Hills party boy. Made money, but not as cool as he thinks he is

Miguel Gonzalez: 25, Young Mexican American FBI agent⛄, caught betweeℱn a few mob bosses. Very clean cut

Mitch Hayes: 38, Annoying, wise cracking, highly successful FBI agent. In great sh🔜ape. Does triathlons, drinks low cal beer, but still has a sense of humor.

Further internet sle♌uthing has also uncovered actresswhich lists RUSH as one of her credits and describesthe role as an 'inner city female street' . It also confirms Take-Two's connection to the project.

Assuming we're not completely misreading Rockstar's actions, this could mean the announcement of a new GTA within the year. Moreover, as everyone's favorite industry analyst Michael Pachter was keen to point out last year, GTA V almost needs to happen by 2012. Shortly after Take-Two issued its financial stats in December,, %26ldquo;We fully exp𝄹ect the next installment of Grand Theft Auto to be released by Q4:1🃏2 at the latest, as the company%26rsquo;s contracts with the three employees most instrumental in the game%26rsquo;s development (Les Benzies, Sam and Dan Houser) expire in January 2012."

Added up, these scant details are compelling evidence Rockstar is well into development of a new GTA title. Either that, or the studio is working on one hell of a clone. If these particular rumors turn out to be true, are you interested in seeing the franchise make a name for itself in Los Santos... er, Los Ange🌊les?
