Revealed: How Star Wars got into Soulcalibur
Namco doing it for the consumers
Jan 15, 2008
How exactly did Darth Vader ♒aꦛnd Yoda end up in Soulcalibur IV?
Did George Lucas reveal himself a massive fan of the beat-'em-🉐up and came begging at Namco's door for th🅰eir inclusion?
Not exactly.
Speaking to Gametrailers.com, game directꦦor Katsutoshi Sasaki provided this rather ꧟non-glamorous explanation of how the Force daddies made it into the sequel:
"The thing that I want to make clear is that we make the game for consumers... It's not for us, it's not for the company. When we think about what makes the consumers happy, w☂hat do they want to play, what makes them excited about the game, that was guest characters.
“When we thought about what guest characters would fit in the Soulcalibur universe, we naturally ended up with Vaꦰder and Yoda."
The ꦉgaming world did a double🤡-take last week when it was confirmed that Darth Vader and Yoda were appearing in Soulcalibur IV.
