Portal 2 to get motion controlled version

A special version of Portal 2 with motion control support has been announced at CES. Oh well, it was only a matter of time before even Valve started devoting energy to keeping up with the Kinect and Move hype- HA HA. FAT CHANCE. Valve is too sharp for all that, and will be releasing the motion-enabled edition of Portal 2 alongside the new Razer Hydra motion control system for the PC.

Know what's so 2010? Cameras. The Hydra uses Sixense's "TrueMotion technology," which detects motion with a magnetic field, meaning that it doesn't require calibration, and can detect motion regardless of line-of-sight. Aside from that, it functions much like Move - it requires, and is only able to detect, handheld controllers. Still, trust Valve to support somethin📖g involving fu**in' magnets (how do they work?).

The special version of Portal 2 will feature some exclusive challenges which make use of the techno🔯logy. You can see more 🔯of it in action ... it's a good thing for LCDs, because putting a big magnet next to a CRT monitor would not be advisable.

There's no word on it, but we wouldn't be shocked if the special vers🎀ion came to the PS3 with Move support, as the devices s𓂃eem to offer similar user experiences, even if the Hydra is more Valve's style.
