Oscar Isaac discusses the Four Horsemen of X-Men: Apocalypse
After strapping in to play X-wing pilot Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Oscar Isaac will turn to the darkside for next year’s X-Men: Apocalypse. As the film’s titular villain, Apocalypse’s plan for global power requires the assistance of his swarthy underlings known as the Four Horsemen. Briefly spotted at the end of Days Of Future Past,🎉 Isaac has now opened up about their enlistment into the tyrant’s budding sc🔥heme.
“Without giving anything away, the recruitment of the Four Horsemen is very cool,” he tells . “It’s very interesting the way that he does that. You kn♐ow the idea of – the way that cult leaders do – they find people that are in need of something and try to fulfil that thing in them – as it relates to every one of the Horseman.”
Isaac goes on🐠 to discuss the motivation behind the fearsome character: “On an individual level he’s able to reveal the true power of his Horsemen and what’s true to them. And I think to reveal the weakness – how weak we’ve become. Because this is an ancient entity. So to come to – I think 1983 – and say, ‘How did the world become so weak? How did we allow ourselves to become to weak and to enslave ourselves.’ I think that’s where he’s coming from.”
Throughout the comic continuity the Four Horsemen (Death, Pestilence, War and Famine) have undergone several line-up changes, with various mutants appearing in the roster to do Apocalypse’s bidding. Based on the casting announc🔯ements so far we suspect Archangel is on track to become Death, which leaves three spots open f✨or a trio of mutants after a change of scenery. Does this mean we might finally see Wolverine go against the X-Men?
Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men Apocalypse opens on May 27, 2016.
