Nintendo DS rules Japan

As reported by our sister site Next Generation, Nintendo's DS Lite is pushing the Japanese game industry to 34% growth over last year, on the back of such hits as the sequel to Brain Age and New Super Mario Bros.༒ Right now, the original DS and DS Lite are the two top selling game consoles in Japan. This news is driving up Nintendo's stock price.

What does this mean for gamers? The answer is clear: more and better games for the DS and a much rosier outlook for Nintendo's unusual Wii, which is due to come out later this year. With gamers and developers used to thinking ab♒out the DS' unique control, they're ready to rock the Wii.
