There's no true usage of the touch screen, other than standard menu selections. To its credit, a couple of DS-only features ("Rewind" and "Speedbreaker") get opened up about halfway through the game, and sure come in handy once the RPM factor goes from Really Fast to Ludicrous Speed. Miss a turn badly? No sweat, just rewind it and give it another go. Things moving way to fast? Slow it down and get through a tough spot.
