Layer Cake and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag actor will play the cynical occult detective

Warner Bros TV are producing a pilot based on the John "Hellblazer" character and that they'v🔯e cast Welsh actor Ma🍸tt Ryan in the role.

Ryan may be familiar to SFX readers from season two of Torchwood , he was in Criminal Minds in 2010 and 2011, and his voice is that of Edward Kenway in the recent sci-fi pirate videogame Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag .

The Constantine pilot was written by The Mentalist exec Daniel Cerone from a story co-written with David S Goyer, the chap behind The Dark Knight , Man Of Steel and Da Vinci's Demons .
