Jesse Eisenberg tries to explain Lex Luthor's batsh*t plans
WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
One aspect of Batmanꦆ v Superman that never really clicked for many people (me included) was Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. The twitchy, quirky performancꦿe didn't fit the character, and it didn't take a lot of afterthought to realise that the villain's schemes weren't particularly well thought out. This is especially true of the film's crazy final act, which sees Lex create and unleash Doomsday - a near unkillable Kryptonian monster - on our heroes.
. "I also think he’s a guy who has 40 back-up plans and so when one thing doesn’t work out he has another and if that doesn’t work out he has another, which is why I think he never feels that threatened by Superman and Batman because he knows he always has the leverage and his final act, in my opinion; and this is now thinking back a year-and-a-half – was this kind of like last-ditch effort to leave it all on the table." Check out the video below...Chalk it up to poor e꧅diting, poor script writing, or a mixture of both, but any way you slice it Luthor's scheming in Batman v Superman doesn't make sense. Even if Batman had managed to kill Superman as Lex had intended the film makes it cle🌺ar he was still going to create Doomsday, a monster he has no way of controlling. So sorry Jesse, I'm not buying it!
