Jagex celebrates 10 years of RuneScape with Ace of Cakes Charm City Cakes
80 pound dessert crafted for RuneFest 2011

Yesterday marked the 10th anniversary of the long-running MMO RuneScape. To celebrate the landmark at this year’s RuneFest convention in Lon𒊎don, developer Jagex commissioned a custom game cake from Ace of Cakes’ Charm City Cakes. Standing a full one meter tall and weighing in at over 80 lbs., the heavy dessert showcased Daemonheim’s Castle andཧ popular NPCs, including Blasidar, Grim Reaper, and the Fairy Queen, before it was devoured by 500 RuneScape fans and the Jagex staff.
“We wanted the cake to represent all aspects of RuneScape but, in particular, we wanted to incorporate elements of the floating citadels from this year’s hugely popularꦯ clan update,” said Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard at RuneFest 2011. “With this in mind we turned to the world-renowned bakers at Charm City Cakes and commissioned them to turn our vision into a reality. Their creation really does the game justice and crowned a perfect e𝄹nd to RuneFest 2011.”
