Hawken to get Oculus Rift support at launch

The developer behind the upcoming beefy-mech simulator/combat game, Hawken, announced today that the title will include support🎀 for the on-head virtual reality display, Oculus' Rift, when it launches in December.

The dev𒊎elopers have said that the support will allow players to look around an excluꩲsive in-game cockpit, purportedly giving them a better sense of place inside the war machine, and creating a more immersive battlefield.

Hawken is just the second game to pledge support for the unreleased VR display. The first being Doom 3 which was announced alongside 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:id Software and John Carmack's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:breathless enthusiasm for the device. Unless you count Notch offering his idle 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:idle hopes that Minecraft and 0x10c would gain support.

The Rift is currently still in its funding phase on Kickstarter with over 8,000 people pledging their support so far. Which is significant since the vast majority of those are pledging over $300 (the level needed to guara🌸ntee yourself a Rift prototype/development kit.) Funding currently sits at just under eight times the amount they asked for, or about $1.96 million.
