You could read into that a whole number of ways: it’s the end of Gunn’s Guardians; there’s going to be more members added to fill out the Guardians’ ranks or, Groot forbid, a death to one of the founding members. This all comes after Gunn was confirmed to cap off the tree-logy as writer and dꦆirector for Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
