What do you do if you're a Tim Burton character and your dog dies? You reanimate it, of course - and the first official images of Victor Frankenstein doing just that to his pet Sparky have appeared online.

Burton told Entertainment Weekly , which published the images of the stop-motion animation Frankenweenie , that the film is about the enduring story of a child and h🐼is first peꦜt.

“It just tries to keep that idea of a very, simple pure rel♒ationship. Mix that with the Frankenstein myth and it causes problems,” he said.

“It has its good side and repercussions,” Burton added. “Ultimately, we try to g♕o with the slightly more positive aspects of keeping that relati𓂃onship going.”

Burton lost his job at Disney for making a live-action short of the same material in 1984. However, thꩵat film helped open doors for his career as a director.

“I don’t know, they got freaked out or something, but they still allowed me to make 🍎the film. Even though I wa🍌s frustrated about the release - or not release of it - it was still a great experience, and did a lot for me, so I couldn’t really complain,” Burton said.

Frankenweenie opens 5 October 2012.
