But, there's a more serious reason, too. "We had a situation where a number of horr🎃ible things were happening. Plus, because it's live action, the nature of violence becomes much more graphic. It's more graphic. Because it's not like there's an animation between you and it; it's people. And it's very disturbing."

Plus, with how dark the rest of the episode was, it just 🌱ended up being overkill.

"Sometimes adding something that was cut from the game requires you to remove something that was in the game," added Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann. "So here, that sequence where Ellꦰie drifts to the Seraphite island and almost gets lynched herself was something we used to have in the game and cut it for just production… purposes. And then now we had three horrible things in a row. We had that sequence, Alice, and then Mel. And in our conversation, we're like, this is probably one one too many."

Co-showrunner and head writer Craig Mazin told GamesRadar+ in April ꩵthat they have not yet begun writing season 3. Now that season 2 has ended, it's likely that work will begin fairly soon, and we'll have a better idea as time goes on. 🅰But for now, 2027 seems like a fair assumption.

The Last of Us season 3 will continue to adapt The Last of Us Part 2, which follows Ellie as she sets out for revenge against Abby, who brutally murders Joel after it's revealed that the surgeon Joel killed at the end of season 1 was actually Abby's father. And not only that, he was also the only living doctor who was capable of making a cure for the Cordyceps virus. At the end of The Last of Us season 2, Ellie manages to kill all of Abby's friends before she and Abby have their first confrontation, which ends with Jesse's death. Abby then shoots Ellie before we cut to Abby waking up in The Stadium (WLF headquarters) with on-scꦛreen text that reads, "Seattle Day One."

Catherinꩲe O'Hara recently confirmed that seasoꦓn 3 will, in fact, center on Abby's story - which isn't a shock t🏅o anyone who has played Part 2. To explain, The Last of Us Part 2 is told from Ellie and Abby's points of view, with the player controlling both characters. The timeline in the game is then split in two: Ellie's perspective: Jackson, Seattle Day One, Seattle Day Two, Seattle Day Three; Abby's perspective: Seattle Day One, Seattle Day Two, Seattle Day Three; and The Farm/Santa Barbara.

The switch to Abby's perspective shows us꧙ what she was doing during those three days that Elie and Dina were hunting her down, and gives us some backstory that makes us reluctantly sympathetic for her and her reasons for killing Joel. Day Three takes us back to the The Last of Us season 2 finale, but from Abby's perspective - the player hunts Ellie down, rather than hide from Abby.

During The Farm part of the game, we see Ellie's life with Dina and their baby. Their peaceful life is interrupted when Tommy pops up and tells Ellie that he's tracked Abby's whereabouts to Santa Barbara - and that she should absolutely go and kill her (which does 💟seem a little out of pocket for TV show Tommy). Ellie does leave for Santa Barbara, which is where Abby and Ellie's final showdown takes place. The game ends from Ellie's perspective.

That being said, we can sp༺eculate that The Last of Us season 3 will start with Abby's Seattle Day One, Two, and Three - and potentially end there. Because a season 4 has been planned (though not yet r🅷enewed), it's possible that the fourth season will center on The Farm and Santa Barbara, saving Abby and Ellie's final confrontation until then (especially with what O'Hara said about season 3 focusing mainly on Abby's story). It's worth noting that season 2 does change the narrative quite a bit, what with telling us within just the first few minutes of the season that Abby plans to kill Joel - rather than keep her reasoning something of a mystery until we play through her perspective.

Because of this, we can expect mꦛany more narrative changes as well as a crop of new characters. It's possible that showrunners and writers Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann decided to save Lev and Yara, two members of Abby's crew who become essential to Ellie's story, for season 3 so as not to muddle or complicate the main plot.

The Last of Us season 3 cast

Though her friends are dead, season 3 will show us what Abby was doing in Seattle while Ellie and Dina were hunting her down. Because of this, Abby's crew will return - though we're not sure if Lev and Yara, two members of the W🐈LF who become an important part of Ellie's life and story, will appear. Bella Ramsey and Isabela Merced will no doubt return, as well as Jeffrey Wright's 🌠terrifying Isaac, who has more or less been made a larger antagonist in the show than he was in the game (and we're not complaining). We can also only speculate that deceased characters like Jesse and Joel will appear in flashbacks.

It's als🍨o worth noting that Catherine O'Hara said she "definitely" wouldn't be appearing in season 3, because of its ce❀ntral focus on Abby.

Neil Druckmann even confirmed more of a focus on Abby at a FYC event, suggesting that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Dever would step in as lead in The Last of Us season 3.

Co-showrunner and game director Neil Druckmann, however, was pleased to give the shocking demise of Pedro Pasca꧟l's Joel the love, care, and attention it deserved.

Next, you will need a VPN – or virtual private network. By using a VPN, you can set up your computer so that it appears to be in a different country, and in our case, we want this to be the US. What starts off as a slightly uneven comedy about a fledgling pirate determined to escape a midlife crisis becomes much more poignant as he falls in love with Taika Waititi's ruthless Blackbeard. The Leftovers, particularly in the opening few episodes of its first season, can be bracingly bleak. Stick with it, though. As th🍎e show progresses it gets warmer, more expansive, and ho✱peful. Season 2 moves the series into mystery thriller territory, while season 3 grapples with an apparently looming apocalypse, before ending with an unforgettable final episode focused on Carrie Coon's Nora Durst, one of the great TV characters of the last few decades.

The picture shows🐻 the film's take on Batman, with glowing eyes and an impressive headdress. 

The film will be an all new take on the Caped Crusader, following a character named Yohualli Coatl, who goes on to become Batman – training inside the temple of Tzinacan,🃏 the bat god – after Spanish Conquistadors kill his father. Versions of Two-Face and Joker are also involved in the movie; Two-Face is Hernán Cortés, one of the Spanish Conquistadors, and Joker is Yoka, a high priest who is an advisor to King Moctezuma. 

The film will also features takes on Poison Ivy (Forest Ivy), Alfred (Acatzin), and Catwoman (Jaguar Wom🦄an). 

"The word you are going to keep hearing is authenticity. Even though it's a fantastical story," Warner Bros. executive Peter Girar🐻di said of the film at Annecy International Animation Film Festival last year (H/T ). "We have done different interpretations of Batman in the past, specifically in Japan, so it's a format we were familiar with. But it's a whole new story, set in that [specific] time. It wasn't about 🅠saying: 'Oh, he has a shark repellent now.'"

With just two episodes of True Detective Night Country to go, those who have been tuning into the crime drama's fourth season are itching to find out who's behind the deaths of Annie K and the Tsalal research scientists. So much so, in fact, that a few of 'em are coming up with wild theories to try and explain away the mys𝔉tery...

Taking to Reddit recently, one fan even cast suspicion on Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis), one of the show's titular sleuths, using an ancient Inuit myth to bolster their argument. In , u/4rustybra🐬in suggested that Navarro has an alter ego or split personality that goes by the name 'Sedna', and that she might be responsible for the scientists' grisly demise. What's more, they present the idea that 🍸she might have killed them "in revenge" for the murder of Annie.

In Inuit culture, 'Sedna' is believed to be a sea goddess who can communicate with and control marine animals. In one specific version of Sedna's tale, it is said that her father cut her fingers off as she clung to the side of his kayak before she sunk into the ocean and became ruler of the deep. She is also thought to be vengꦦeful, and worshipped by hunters. She's also explicitly referenced in the pilot, when Pete Prior's son shows him a drawing of a woman with her fingers cut off; a moment showrunner Issa López .

As u/4rustybrain points out, when Nav💫arro is introduced in Ni🤪ght Country, her first on-screen conversation is about how Ennis's crab population is dwindling. It also sees her arresting a fisherman for assaulting his girlfriend, who just so happens to be missing two fingers on her right hand. The user also highlights the fact that several characters remark on how Navarro's mother never told her her Iñupiat name before she was killed. Might it be 'Sedna'?

Elsewhere, the Redditor draws attention to Na൲varro's mother and sister both having mental health struggles; her emotional attachment to the Annie K case, and her sexual relationship with Qavvik (Joel D. Montgrand), which is a Inupiaq word for 'wolverine'. According to legend, Sedna was dissatisfied with the men chosen for her and ends up being forced to marry a dog.

For now, u/4rustybrain's theory is pure speculation♏, but we'd be lying if we said they didn't make some interesting connections between the myth and the ongoing series. If Navarro does turn out to be the killer, though, we'd be a little confused as to why she seems so hellbent on solving Annie K's murder. If she was so adamant that the researchers were responsible for her death, why would s𒅌he be pretending to be in the dark? Wouldn't she have said something to Ennis police chief Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) sooner?

One of 2023's wildest movies is heading to streaming this Christmas. Saltburn, Emerald Fennell's follow-up to Promising Young Woman, hits Amazon Prime Video on December 22. The black comedy stars Barry Keoghan as Oliver Quick, an Oxford University student who becomes infatuated with one of his classmates, Jacob Elordi's Felix Catton. Their unlikely friendship gets very weird, very quickly when Felix invites Oli⛄ver to spend the summer at his family manor house, Saltburn. Full of hedonistic party scenes, great needle drops, and some, ahem, steamy bathtub sequences, it's a wild ride.

The Creator

Gareth Edwards' stunning sci-fi The Creator takes place in the near future when humans are at war with AI. John David Washington's ex-special forces soldier is given the task of hunting down a new weapon made by the Creator, the architect of the advanced AI. Things get complicated when he finds out the weapon in question is a young child simulant named Alphie (Madeleine Yuna Voyles). The fi꧒lm has been praised for its beautiful cinematography as well as being one of the best original sci-fi movies in recent years. UK viewers will have to wait a little while longer though as it doesn't land on Disney Plus until January 17.

The Tourist season 2

Jamie Dornan returns for The Tourist season 2 on New Year's Day, though UK fans expecting to see the bright sunshin🀅e of Australia's outback might be disappointed, because this time, the action takes place in Ireland. 

The second chapter sees Dornan's Elliot return to his homeland alongside Constable Helen Chambers (Danielle♉ Macdonald), as he tries to rediscover his roots. Before long, though, the pair get "dragged into the dangerous whirlwind of his past life and are confronted by friends and foes both old and new."

If the NYE plans were a little too wild, and you plan on recuper🅘ating on the sofa for the whole day, the BBC has got you covered, too, with all six episodes set to land on iPlayer at once. Hallelujah, hangover cure! US viewers will have to wait a little longer for this one, however, as it arrives on Netflix in February 2024.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

A prequel to Netflix's super popular Spanish-language series Money Heist, Berlin centers on Pedro Alonso's eponymous thief of the same name 🔯– and is set long before he finds out about his terminal diagnosis and takes the Royal Mint of Spain h🐠ostage.

While Superman: Legacy is the first DCU movie, the first DCU project is none other than Creature Commandos, an animated show heading to Max (formerly HBO Max).

The new series, which has the working title A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, was announced during Warner Bros. Discovery’s unveiling of its new Max streaming service👍. It will follow the adventures of a knight, known as Dunk, and his squire, known as Egg – Martin says that the main characters' names, Dunk and Egg, were never going to appea▨r in the title as it would sound "like a sitcom".

"HBO has given us a greenlight to film for a full season (not just a pilot), most likely of six episodes… though that is not set in stone, and won’t be until considerably later in the process," Martin wrote in his latest blog post. "To date I have written and published three novell🌼as about Dunk & Egg… Our premiere season will be an adaptation of the first of the three published novellas, 'The Hedge Knight,' the tale of how Dunk & Egg first met during a tournament at Ashford Meadow. The pilot script is already written, and I think it’s terrific." 

Ira Parker, who wrote 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:House of the Dragon episode 4, penned the script. "There is no date set yet for the seriesꦉ premiere, or even for the show to begin shooting… but the writing i🍬s well underway."

Martin went on to say that he hopes that the other two novellas will be adapted into subsequent seasons, before admitting to a classic Martin case of over-commitment. "Then comes the hard part. Before we reach the end of the published stories, I will need to find time to write all the other Dunk & Egg novellas that I have planned," he added. Jodie Foster and Kali Reis star as two warring police detectives in the city of Ennis, Alaska, who are tasked with solving the case of eight missing employees of the Tsalal Arctic R𝓀e𒉰search Station. The men vanish without a trace on the eve of the "long night", when the town doesn't see daylight for around two months between November and January. 

According to the season's official logline, the two detectives "will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under꧟ the eternal ice." The cast also includes Fiona Shaw, Christopher Eccleston, Finn Bennett, Isabella Star Lablanc, Aka Niviâna, Anna Lambe,  Joel D. Montgrand, and John Hawkes, while Issa López is on board as showrunner, director, and writer. 

This is the first installment of True Detective since 2019's season 3, which starred Mahershala Ali and was set in the Ozarks. Each season features a different cast and setting, with season 1 starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey in Louisiana, an꧟d Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams taking over in California for season 2.

HBO Max's The🌱 Batman spinoff series, based on Colin Farrell's The Penguin, has debuted its first footage and teaser trailer. 

The preview was revealed during the HBO Max presentation 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:introducing its new su🅷bscriღption service,🍨 simply titled Max, which combines the HBO Max and 👍Discovery+ services.

The Penguin series serves as a direct sequel to the 2022 film The Batman. In that movie, Paul Dano's The Riddler kills one of Gotham City&♓apos;s most powerful mob bosses, Carmine Falcone, and floods the city. Farrell's Penguin finds an opportunity to use the power vacuum to his advantage.

In today's teaser, Farrell goes 𝓀full mob boss, saying things like, "If you step out of line even once, I'll gut you like a goddamn fish" with a decidedly Tony Montana-like cadence and gunning people down while laughing maniacally. His perfo𝓰rmance is equal parts captivating and terrifying, and it should be interesting to see the depths of the character's depravity fully explored now that The Penguin has his own series.

He added: "And then the separation of the three characters, Sarah going that way, and Shiv wanting or needing the support of Tom in that moment, despite everything. Roman feeling the need to go on to the plane to see his father’s body, and leaving Kendall alone there – I found that tremendously poignant. That was an incredibly busy day shooting. But it was very, very emotional for all of☂ us."

Keeping a major character death under wraps is no mean feat, and the 𒅌team behind the scenes went to great lengths to keep Logan's demise a secret. "We’d already put into motion an idea: that in order to try to preserve the secret of this episode, that Brian would be around for subsequent episodes," Mylod explained. "And would even appear in a much later episode, so that we would see him down the line, and hopefully try to head off rumors that th𒊎e character had died… The stuff in a subsequent episode, we basically bring him on to shoot dummy scenes – scenes that didn't actually exist. As a misdirect."

Executive producer Georgia Pritchett revealed that things were kept on the down-low even in the writers' room, with the show's writers using a code to refer to Logan's death. "This was a tough secret to keep! We decided it in the Succession writers' room in Jan 22," she . "So nobody found out we used code on the whiteboards. Larry David meant L൩ogan Dies. So episode 403 said Connor's Wedding, Larry David. Mind you, that would also have been a great episode."

"I was the guy who shot and missed," Joel says solemnly. "There's no story. Sarah died, and I couldnಞ't see the point anymore. That was that. I wasn't scared either, I was ready. I couldn't have been more ready. Then when I, when I went to pull the trigger, I flinched... Still don't know why."

The Last of Us season 2 plot details

The Last of Us season 2 hasn't necessarily followed the video game in which it's based as faithfully as its predecessor, with it lingering on certain beats much longer than the source material – but it's just as🍸 dark as the original story.

The show's co-creators – Mazin and Druckmann – had already signalled that the eve൩nts of Part 2 would require multiple seasons to properly bring the a🦩mbitious storyline of the second game to life, so it's not e♌xactly a surprise, mind.

In fact, it's so close to the source material that there are few changes between the series and the original, aside from its cl꧑osing moment, which plays out a little differently.

In those last few minutes of the small screen ins💞tallment, Joel catches up to a blood-soaked Ellie outside Lakeside Resort, the base of David's commune. "We didn't want it to happen with the fire around. The danger of the fire just felt a little different than it did in the game," Druckmann began, before Mazin interjected: "There was also the question of, 'How does Joel get inside if the keys are on David? It was a little bit of a logic thing, too, and we wanted our Ellie to have completed it to the point where she could literally walk away on 💖her own.♏"

"I think it was important when the scene was constructed in the game, and I think it's the same for the show, that we want the audience – or the player – to think Joel is going to save Ellie, because that's what this character traditionally does," Druckmann said. "And the whole point was, no, Ellie saves herself. He does save her but now he has to do a very different thing that a parent does: he save her emotionally before she loses her sanity. He is there to bring her b♋ack.

"It's one of the most emotional parts of the story and I was so nervous whether this would hit as hard on t✃he show. Here, the contrast of the blood on he📖r skin and the white of the snow... and Bella gives us this incredible, disembodied performance where she's not quite there. Then Pedro grabs her, and the way he grabs her like, 'I couldn't protect you from this.' I was bawling. I pick up my phone and I text Craig like, 'We did it'."

With that, summing up the biggest differences betwe🏅en the show and the PlayStation game proved a bit of a tricky task this week – though that doesn't mean Craig Mazin and Naughty Dog president Neil Druckmann didn't make some smaller changes to the changes to the story. Troy Baker is playing James here, not Joel

You've probably twigged by now that Troy Baker, wꦇho voices Joel in the games, doesn't play him in the show. No, that's Pedro Pascal's job. With that, episode 8 introduces Baker as an entirely different character: David's right-hꦓand man James.

While Joel is recovering from the wounds h🔯e obtained at the university in the game, players take control of Ellie and are forced to hunt in the snowy landscapes of Colorado. While doing so, you h🔥ave no choice but to use a bow and arrow but in the show, Bella Ramsey's Ellie uses a gun. 

Up until this point, we've not seen Joel or Ellie use a bow and arrow so it'd be a bit random for her to whack one out and suddenly start waving it about like some expert archer now. Narratively, it makes sense, even if it is a shame to lose a cool bit of iconography from the game. Hey, ther🌸e's always season 2...

Joel's run-in with David's men

To be honest, these scenes play out very similarly to how they do in the games, but one key difference is that Joel wakes up from his injury-induced sleep and goes looking for Ellie♒ after she's already been taken by David in the original. In the show, a couple of David's men force the way into the house where h😼e and Ellie had holed themselves up, and he chokes one out and ties him up before knocking another marauder unconscious out in the yard. 

In both the game and the show, he then proceeds to torture the henchmen, demanding to know where the🐲y've taken Ellie – and goes on to kill them.

Joel doesn't intercept Ellie killing David

In the game, Joel finds Ellie as she's hacking David to death and yanks her off of him. Seeing how distressed she is, he 𓆏then calms her down and leads her away from the resort. In the show, a blood-soaked Ellie is already outside when Joel stumbles upon her. 

It's such a small chang▨e that it has us wondering why they did it but in all fairness, it might be down to something as simple as shooting schedules.

Pedro Pascal plays Joel in the TV show, opposite Bella Ramsey's Ellie. As hard as it is to imagine anyone else as the character, it turns out that Ali almost 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:shouldered the backpack and starred in the series. 

Speaking to , Pierce revealed that he didn't expect to play Tommy in the TV adaptation, and, explaining why, he revealed: "🥃I think initially they had talked to Mahershal♛a Ali about playing Joel, which is an obvious cue that I'm not gonna play Tommy… And when they cast Pedro [Pascal], I knew like, yeah, that was certainly not going to happen regardless, I'm older than Pedro Pascal. During the tour, the foursome stu🔯mble across the stables, leading Ellie to spot a cute, little foal peeking out from one of the stalls.

"Yeah, what's her name?" Ellie asks as she&ap꧅os;d excitedly runs over. "Shimmer," Maria replies.

It's an adorable moment, made all the more sweet knowing that Ellie is assigned Shimmer in The Last of Us Part 2. Most notably, she's ridde𒅌n by Ellie – and Dina – as the pair set out to explore Seattle. The horse doesn't actually feature in Part 1, but showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann must have not wa🐠nted to wait to weave her into the story.

The teaser, which you can watch above, opens on Ellie (Bella Ramsey) in FEDRA training camp, as another girl mocks her via voiceover. "You don't fight, your friend fights. She&🐠apos;s not here anymore," she says scathingly bef🔯ore Ellie takes a swing at the bully.

"You follow the rules, you become an officer," the youngster is reminded by a FEDRA higher-up later on in the clip, which then introduces Storm Reid's Riley, Ellie's bestie-turned-love interest. After breaking into their former dorm room under the cover of night, Riley persuades Ellie to come with her to the QZ's abandoned shopping center, wher𝓰e she promises to show her "the four wonders of the mall".

"You're a Firefly?!" Ellie exclaims when she learns that Riley has been camping out and making explosives in the rundown building. But her pal's "betrayal" winds u꧅p being the least of her worries when an angry clicker sets their sights on them...

"Get ready to run," Riley murmurs as🥂 she🐓 pulls out a gun. 

We won't go into spoilers here, but those who have played Left Behind know that we're in for some big moments in episode 7. If you've yet to check the games out, you still know that Elꩲlie was bitten in the mall, thanks to her having told Tess in episode 2, so we can expect to see how all that goes down at least.

The Last of Us episode 6 might have just featured another Easter egg – an🔥d this time, it's not a giraffe soft toy or a nod to Joel's hero shirt from the first game, it's a major character from The Last of Us Part 2.

Interestingly, one of the HBO show's bosses, Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann, ওt꧋eased the involvement of a mystery character in season 1 way back in March 2020. Sharing a tweet from HBO celebrating International Women's Day and the network's roster of female characters, : "And now you have Ellie, Riley, Tess, Marlene, Maria" before blanking out another four-letter name and adding, "and a few others!"

At the time, those who have played the game speculated as to who he might have meant. Anna, protagonist Ellie's late mother, who was 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:later glimpsed in a ♕teaser for the series, was an option, as were Abby, Ellie's adversary or Dina, Ellie's romantic partner in Part 2. Now, The Last of Us episode 6 has hinted that Druckmann probably meant the latter. 

In the latest installment, titled 'Kin', Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) found themselves stumbling across a self-sufficient 🅷settlement in Jackson, Wyoming – and it just so happens that Tommy (Gabriel Luna), J꧑oel's missing brother, has been made a new life for himself there. After introducing the pair to his partner Maria (Rutina Wesley), one of the community's leaders, the foursome sit down for a hot meal in the commune's canteen.

Wh𒀰i♕le chowing down, Ellie spots another girl staring at her from behind a wooden pillar. "What?" she growls, to which Maria says: "She was just curious. Kids around here don't usually look or talk like you."

There's not much to confirm that the mysterious onlooker is Dina but her clothes, long dark hair, and obvious interest in Ellie suggestsꩵ that she is. Ellie meets Dina at the Jackson settlement in The Last of Us Part 2, so we know she's based there. The barn the scene takes p🌠lace in looks remarkably like the place where Ellie and Dina share their first kiss, too. 

While she doesn't actually feature in the first game, Dina is a huge part of Part 2, accompanying Ellie on her quest. While appearing on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, Ramsey explained that while they've never played the game, they're 澳洲幸运𝄹5开奖号码历史查询:excited to𒆙 play out "the Ellie and Dina stuff," having seen an ed♍it online of th꧑e characters' love story. 

All that said, Druckmann could&a💯pos;ve just as easily been referring to Anna (played by Ellie voice actor Ashley Johnson), who we've not yet seen in the show, but know she'll feature due to a blink-and-you🔥'll-miss-it moment in the official teaser. Only time will tell.

As we near the end of the first season, it's getting more and more crucial that the big beats play out and they do here, from Joel reuniting with his brother Tommy to Ellie an⛄d Joel's violent altercation at the University of Eastern Colorado. Below, though, we go into all the differences between 'Kin' and the Naughty Dog game.

Joel and Ellie meet an isolated, elderly couple who tell them not to travel west

Having made it to the outskirts of a snow-covered Wyoming, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) stumble across t▨he isolated ☂home of two older survivors at the start of episode 6, titled 'Kin'. After a tense interaction with the man of the house, who returns home from hunting rabbits to find his wife (Elaine Miles) hosting these two hostile strangers, Joel asks the man (played by Dances with Wolves star Graham Greene) whether he's seen his brother Tommy and if he has any tips about travelling further west. "Go east," the man replies ominously. 

This section doesn't feature in the game at all, and is entirely new to the show. It's certainly an ef🍸fective way of highlighting the dangers that await Joel and Ellie as the series continues.

There's no dam sequence in the show

In the game, Joel reunites with Tommy near a power plant outside of Tommy's settlement, Jackson. Turns out, the commune gets its power from the plant's generator but it's broken, and a group of survivors – Tommy, his new wife Maria, and her father included – have travelled out there to try and fix it. None of this is seen in the HBO show, though the d🌼am is mentioned a little later on in the episode.

Instead, Pascal's Joel and Ramsey's Ellie find themselves running into Maria (Rutina Wesley) and a bunch of other Jackson settlers en route to Colorado, and their introduction is a little fros𒅌ty. When Jꩵoel admits he's "just looking for [his] brother", Maria's ears prick up and she asks Joel's name. When he tells her, she brings both him and Ellie back to Jackson, where the former finally catches up with Tommy (Gabriel Luna).

In the scenes that follow, we get a good look at Jackson, a key location we don't really see in the source material until 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Last of Us Part 2.

Ellie doesn't run off

The dam sequence isn't the only moment that wasn't adapted from game to sh🍃ow. In both versions of the story, Joel asks Tommy to escort Ellie the rest of the way to the Fireflies, as he doesn't think he's strong enough to make the last section of the trip. In the game, Ellie overhears Tommy telling Maria about Joel's request and in response, steals a horse and runs off to a nearby abandoned ranch. The ranch is then where the famous "You have no idea what loss is" scene takes place.

In the HBO series, Ellie overhears Joel༒ asking Tommy directly and simply skulks off to her new temporary room in the house opposite Tommy and Maria's. When Joel confronts her, the sequence plays out much the same as it does in the game, though here, of course, the twosome 𒀰don't get interrupted by Tommy and a bunch of bandits. 

Shimmer's introduction

As Joel and Ellie are being shown around Jackson by Maria and Tommy, they come across the stables and more specifically Shimmer, a horse with a white stripe down her nose. Shimmer doesn't actually appear in the first The Last of Us game, interestingly, but she plays a significant role in Part 2, accompanying Ellie, her owner, Dina, and her ﷽horse Japan on their journey across the US to Seattle🌜.

😼In the show, when Joel and Ellie leave the settlement and set off towards the Fireflies base in Colorado, they're riding Callus, Tommy's horse💃 – or at least we can assume so from the game. 

Maria is pregnant

When Joel puts the idea to Tommy that he should be the one to escort Ellie to the Fireflies, Tommy initially pushes back against the idea. Despite his older brother insisting that he's more likely to pull off the mission due to his age and know𝔍ledge of the area, Tommy lectures Joel on how Jackson has taught him that they are other ways of doing things than "before", and states that he doesn't want to go back to a life of violence and killing.

Tommy then admits that his wife Maria is pregnant, and expl🌟ains that that's his main reason for not wanting to riskဣ his life for someone else. After sharing the news, Tommy confides in his brother that he's "scared to death" about becoming a father, despite the fact that he knows deep down he'll probably "be a good dad." 

"Guess we'll find out," a scorned Joel snaps back, which leads to an argument between the siblings. "Just because life꧟ stopped for you, doesn't mean it has to stop for me," Tommy hits back. This is all specific to the show and doesn't happen in the game.

Joel gets stabbed at the University of Eastern Colorado

In their desperate attempt to escape a bunch of raiders at the University of Eastern Colorado in the game, Joel falls from a balcony and gets impaled on a jagged rebar. In the show, he and Ellie almost make it out of the university unscathed but are jumped outside as they try to mount Shimmer, and Joel is s🔥tabbed with a broken baseball bat. In retaliation, Joel strangles the raider and snaps his neck, killing him instantly.

In the Naughty Dog source material, Ellie learns that Joel has pawned her off to his younger brother Tommy, and he'll no longer be the one taking her to the Fireflies as originally ෴promised. In response to his dismissal of her, she steals a horse and runs off to an abandoned ranch nearby. When Joel catches up with her, she's flippantly reading a magazine and asks, "Is this all they had to worry about? Boys. Movies. Which shirt goes with which skirt? It's bizarre."

"Get up, we're leaving🍌. C'mon," Joe🍷l barks back, to which she snips: "And if I say no?"

The pair then argue about Joel's decision to have Tommy escort Ellie to the Firefli💮es, before Ellie brings up Joel's late daughter Sarah, who was killed on the day of the outbreak,🌜 and explains that she's not her. 

"You ar🦩e treading on some mighty thin ice here," Jo𒐪el solemnly warns the teen through gritted teeth. "You have no idea what loss is."

"Everyone I have ever cared for has either died or left me. Everyone,ཧ fucking except for you," Ellie shouts, pushing Joel. "So don't tell me that I would be safer with someone else – because the truth is, I would just be more scared."

After Joel coldly tells Ellie that she "sure as hell" isn't his daughter🐭 and that he's adamant about them going their sep🌞arate ways, the twosome are interrupted by Tommy. It's a heartbreaking scene that shows how much the unlikely pals care about one another, despite Joel being too afraid to admit it, and those who are familiar with the game are expecting it to hit hard when Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey play it out in live-action.
