<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> //344567.top 2025-06-25T10:25:02Z en <![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Radiant quests. Love them or hate them, they're in a lot of RPGs and give you endless hours of missions to do. They're coming to Borderlands 4 in the form of contracts you can find at bounty boards, and they remind the creative director of the good ol' days of Borℱderlands 1.

"Will the random occurring events/quests be never ꧒ending?" one fan asks Borderlands 4 creative director Graeme Timmins on Twitter. "Yes, contracts found at bounty boards around Kairos will always provide contracts to pick up and engage," he replies.

Apart from 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Skyrim's Thieves Guild jobs, I'm not a big fan of radiant quests, but long-time fans of the Borderlands fra🍷nchise may take a shine to these contracts because Timmins adds, "They remind me of t🐻he simpler missions from [Borderlands 1]. These are great to have as you'll often complete them when doing other activities naturally (killing enemies for example)."

I suppose if your contract is to go out and kill someone, then you do a story mission that sends you into an area where you subsequently turn a bunch of enemies into lead holders, you'll end up completing the contrܫacts purely by chance. Thatꦗ way you get their rewards without feeling like you're grinding them.

One fan tw🍌eets that "simple pick-up-and-play side activities" are what the Borderlands series has been missing, and Timmins has an explanation for where they've gone.

"As simple as the BL1 missions tended to be, they were satisfying to complete in groups," Timmins writes. "That kind of two birds, one s🐻tone idea of mission pacing became harder to design/account for as🌄 we upped our mission game (dialog fighting, complexity of objectives)."

So, it sounds like it should give you the best of both worlds. Check out our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 preview if you want to know more.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 will have a photo mode after all - it's just not coming until a post-launch update. After the game's apparent lack of photo mode started making the rounds on social media, the devs at Gearbox 𝄹have come forward to confirm it's coming.

"Hey guys, wanted to confirm that Photo Mode will be coming to Borderlands 4," creative ༒director Graeme Timmins says in . "It'll🐽 be a feature that we add in an update after the game launches." The official Gearbox account has reiterated the same message.

It's unclear exactly where the idea that the game wouldn't have photo mode came from, but it became a talking point among the fandom on social media this week. For , it's a critical tool for slowing down and zooming in on your damage numbers - though Gearbox says there will be better ways to evaluate your DPS - and the implication it might be missing was enough to get to trying to mod the featuꦜre in.

In the end, mods won't be necessary after all. But why is photo mode getting delayed from the game's initial launch? "I had us prioritize꧅ polishing some other elements, more core to the moment-to-moment experience," Timmins says in a . "We've always planned for it, and had it tasked up, we just needed to spend a bit more time on things that would directly impact QoL of playing the game."

Borderlands 4 doesn't have a minimap, but it's getting an optional combat radar after all following feedback from "the real fans who sincerely want the best for the game."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4's ESRB rating is out in the wild, and it's full of "enemies bursting into chunks," sexual references, and even some naughty words,𝓰 oh heavens!

澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Gearbox's Borderlands series has always been chock-full of violence and crass writing filled to the brim with cringey humor and pop culture references, and from the looks of things the series is set to continue down that path. The ESRB has released and revealed some of the more grisly details about the game, which has unsurprisingl♎y given it a "Mature" rating for "Bꦗlood and Gore", "Intense Violence", "Sexual Themes", and "Strong Language."

This time around Gearbox is uppi𒉰ng the ante on the gore effects, as the description notes "enemies bursting into chunks of gore and/or losing limbs," "creatures exploding into large blood-splatter effects," "a character s🍬napping their own neck," and "characters stabbed or impaled." Plus the game's environments will be littered with "corpses, large bloodstains, and severed limbs."

And if you 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:didn't like Borderlands humour before, don't hold your breath, as the ESRB has also revealed a gauntlet of sex jokes that 14 year olds and Randy Pitchford are going to find funny,ꦍ such as "Start a weird robot sex commune"; "New position! Heh. Like sex"; "Light as a feather, stiff as a whore"; "Have you seen my penis strap?" With sex toys also littering part of the world.

And of course, you have to have the pop culture references, with what seems to be a take on the iconic ending of the underrated comedy classic Clue, "…I'm gonna go home and have sex with my wife." Worst of all, just 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:like with Death Stranding 2, ESRB has reveale꧟d "The word “f**k” appears in the ga✅me."

Borderlands 4 has "more skills per character than in Borderlands 3 and 2 added together," Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford says: "We're working late on Fridays for you."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4's producers have claimed that Borderlands 4 has "more skills per character than in Borderlands 3 and 2 added t🔯ogether."

It's hard to believe it's been that long since Borderlands 3, but somehow that game is over five years old at this point (it'll be a day before six years when it launches on September 12, 2025), it's even a few months older than Death Stranding, which really puts it into perspective (I mean sure, there was Tiny Tina's Wonderlands in the middle there, but c'mon). From the way Gearbox tells it, that time was pu♓t to good use, as the character classes in Borderlands 4 seem way more in-depth this time around.

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford and chief creative officer Randy Varnell took the stage at to chat about the new character classes in the game꧙. Varnell spoke up about the deꦚpth of the skill tree in Borderlands 4, saying that four players could take the same character and action skill into a fight and still have a varied enough moveset to take on different roles. Pitchford added, "You'll find more skills per character than in Borderlands 3 and 2 added together," saying, "We're working late on Fridays for you."

Doing the math, characters in Borderℱlands 2 each had three skill trees with 10 skills each, while in Borderlands 3, each character had 4 skill trees with around 18-20 skills each. So add it all together, and that's a ton of skills per character. Hopefully, they are meaningful upgrades as opposed to being the skill🦹 equivalent of Borderlands' millions of weapons with minor changes between them.

Borderlands 4 isn't a "cynical" sequel that's only being made "to meet the market," but because Gearbox wants to improve movement like it improved Borderlands 3's gunplay

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Borderlan♐ds 4 isn't a "cynical" sequel, and Gearbox wants to prove it by providing a movement overhaul akin to Borderlands 3's improved gunplay.

Speaking to GamesRadar+ as part of our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 preview, lead writer Taylor Clark says that "Borderlands is almost old enough to drive. It would bꦆe strange ✅if it weren't constantly growing and adapting. And that's not because we're trying to meet the market in some cynical way."

In other words, Gearbox isn't only making another sequel for 🔯the sake of making a sequel. "We are a creative team and there are ideas that we want to express through Borderlands 4," Clark explains. There are "ways that we want to make it feel like we're breaking fresh ground again."

For 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4, that fresh ground is to 🗹be found in a particular focus on how you get around. A more open-world entry than any of its predecessors, Borderlands 4 offers the ability to conjure its Digirunner vehicles wherever you are, but an emphasis of movement is said to pervade the whole game. According to executive producer Chris Brock, that's becaus♚e Gearbox "wanted to take that same focused approach" that the studio had on Borderlands 3's combat overhaul, "but this time for movement and exploration."

According to Clark, that means "less borders, more lands," as well as "virtually n๊o loading times" and a non-linear approach to the campaign that lets you deal with main missions "in pretty much any order." Not all of that is directly attached to movement, but it's a free-form approach to Borderlands that h🌳asn't really been a major part of previous entries.

As well as making its own new stamp on movement, Gearbox is listening to fans, announcing an 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:optional combat radar for Borderlands 4 in response to fans who mourned the loss of an in-game 🍎map. It's not qui✨te ready yet, but it's been put together extremely quickly, implying that the studio might still have a few things it's yet to reveal ahead of the September release date.

Borderlands 4's $70 price is "extremely unlikely" to have been influenced by backlash to Randy Pitchford's "real fan" comment.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Following a wave of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 previews and the feedback that's come from those, Gearbox has confirmed that its upcoming looter shooter will feature an optional combat radar after all, after a 🌠significant number of players complained about its absence in 𝔍the demo they played.

After previews for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 went live, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford polling fans on "what more" they want when it comes to navigation in the game. It was already confirmed that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:there's no mini-map, but 55% of people declared that they wanted⛦ a "combat radar, you fools," prompting Pitchford to explain that, actually, the devs already have us covered for the full launc🥀h.

In a thread discussing Borderlands 4's maps, compass, and EchoBot AI drone, Pitchford admits: "To be honest, we have been using the compass for so long for combat situational awareness, [that] we don't miss the radar. We stop💯ped thinking about it. We can actually prove at the beginner level it doesn't matter and at the advanced level the compass is preferred." However, following the game's recent "press tour," Pitchford estimates "roughly 15%" of players brought up the combat radar's absence, with a number really advocating for the feature.

"As🎃 me and head of dev, Steve Jones (and some of the other guys) were poking around with producers trying to figure out what it would take to add these features and if we could make it in time to ship or not, something awesome happened," Pitchford explains. "In classic Gearbox style, where we have an ethos of 'they who builds it, wins,' some developers got together and found some time in the margins of their schedules. Some Gearbox heroes did what Gearbox heroes do!"

Pitchford says that in an effort from creative directꦯor Graeme Timmins and some members of the UI team (including "the awesome Jason Brown and the badass Justin Dooley," as well as art from "the super talented Ray Peña"), the devs made the com✤bat radar players were missing. What's more, they "just barely squeezed it in for a QA pass so that it can go into the main branch of our software in time to ship with Borderlands 4 on September 12."

The Gearbox boss expresses his gratitude for the feedback the devs received, perhaps with some trepidation using the term "real fans," despite all the backlash he's faced for those two words recently. "This happened because of the best elements of our community. I'm talking about the real fans who sincerel𒀰y want the best for the game and gave constructive notes and made reasonable arguments," he says. "You know wh♚o you are and you rock! You made this happen!"

Meanwhile, creative director that the combat radar was added "LAST FREAKING WEEK," so it really is a recent development. He says that those involved in its creation "we🧜nt incredibly fast when I told them – 'If we're doing this, I want it for launch.' This is just how committed we are here guys; we're doing everything to make BL4 the definitive Borderlands.🐓"

All in all, it's been a positive week for Borderlands fans – a welcome change after the aforementioned backlash following Pitchford's suggestion that any "real fan" would find a way to buy the upcoming game even if it was $80. A few days ago, it was confirmed that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the standard edition of the game is $70, so fans' wallets are somewhat safe, unless they want to buy a pricey collector's edition that's not actually a collector's edition.

Borderlands 4's $70 price is "extremely unlikely" to have been influenced by backlash to Randy Pitchford's "real fan" comment, Baldur's Gate 3 publishing director says, even if he thought it was "gross."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 is coming out in September, and although Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford can't seem to keep his foot out of his mouth, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Baldur's Gate 3 publishing director Michael Dous💝e will still be buying it as soon as i🤪t comes out.

"Borderlands 4 is a day one purchase for me, by the way," Douse writes on Twitter. "I have a lot of faith in its writers (though I can't put a finger on it, I have a good feeling about it) and I think just enough time has passed. Just throwing that out there in cas🎀e you thought I was neggy on the BL."

澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Douse has previously spoken out about Pitchford's controversial comment that "real fans" would find a way to afford Borderlands 4, even if it co💦st $80. "Saying 'real fans will find a way' is gro⛄ss because it assumes your game is more important during a cost of living crisis than, for example, making it day to day," Douse wrote at the time.

So, you can see why Douse wanted to clear the air and let it be known he does still support the game. But, even though Douse is keen to get Borderlands 4, he's still not afraid to g𓆉ive his h😼onest opinion on the series. One fan asks what he thought of the writing in Borderlands 3, and he replies: "That was a dry-ass turkey dropped eight months after Thanksgiving." Ouch.

I wonder if he'll be getting the $70 standard version or the $150 collector's edition that's not actually a collector's edition and doesn't come with the game?

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4's PC specs are here, and it turns out more than half of Steam users don't meet the minimum requirement. 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The game may not be $80, but ꦓit will cos꧑t more than that once you add a new CPU to the total.

The minimum hardware you'll need to run Borderlands 4 includes 16GB of RAM, 8GB of VRAM, 8 CPU cores, and an Nvidia RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon♉ RX 5700 XT. That's a lot of RAM and a lot of cores for a cel-shaded game.

The recommen🐻ded specs are, obviously, higher. An RTX 3080 or AMD 6800 XT, 12GB of VRAM, and a whopping 32GB of RAM.

As reported by , 50.39% of Steam users who took part in its have a CPU with six cores or fewer. This means unless you're using a fairly beefy machine, you may have to upgrade your CPU just to get the minimum specs. We have a list of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best CPUs for gaming that may help you.

Our friends over at don't believe these specs are set in stone though. It notes that smaller CPUs with multi-threading support ma🐲y still work, such as a four core CPU that can use each core to execute multiple functions. Those RAM and VRAM specs are probably more concrete, unfortunately.

Over on Reddit, fans aren't happy. As spotted by , one redditor wrote, "Wtf is this? There is no way a Borderlands game is that demanding." They add, "I have never seen a game requiring eight CPU cores. RTX 3080 12GB is only three [years old], isn't this just an insane hardwar♊e leap?"

Also annoying fans is the $150 collector's edition that's not a collec꧋tor꧂'s edition that doesn't even come with a copy of the game.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 just can't stop annoying fans and it's not even out yet. First, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:"real fans" would be able to shell out $80 for the game, even though 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:it's ended up being $70. And now, it turns out the collector's edition that doesn't come with a copy of the game isn't even the collect♛or's edition. It's all way more confusing than it needs to be.

Pitchford previously tweeted details of the "Collector's Edition of Borderlands 4 available for Pre-Order at GameStop." He added that it was "澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:pretty rad and will probably sell out, so𝓡 grab it if you're into it."

It comes with an Echo-4 statue, vault symbol necklace, art prints, map of Kairos, and a code for five golden keys in Borderlands 4. What it doesn't come with is the game itself, e♔ven tho♓ugh it costs $150. So if you want that and the game, you're going to have to spend at least $220.

Naturally, a fan asks, "Wait... why doesn't this include the game?" The official Gearbox account replies, "The ဣEcho-4 Bundle was mislabeled as a Borderlands 4 Collector's Edition. This has been corrected on the website."

So this isn't the collector's edition, just a pricey bun🌠dle with physical items and art – exactly what you'd expect to find in a collector's edition.

And, as far as I can tell, there isn't an official collector's edition out yet. The closest thing is this Echo-4 bundle, and the most-expensive version of the game itself is the $130 Super Deluxe Edition which comes with more missions, more Vault Hunters, and more goodies.

While you wrap your head around all that, check out the other 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming games of 2025 and hope their various versions aren't as confusing.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford is Saying Things on Twitter again, and well, let's just start with t🐲he bad.

Pitchford's talking about the price of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 again. After Pitchford completely submerged himself in hot water by saying "real fa💮ns" would fork up the $80 for Borderlandsꦯ 4 if it indeed ended up costing that much, and then 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:kind of sort of apologizing, publisher 2K opened up pre-orders ꧒for the game and confirmed that the basﷺe game starts at $70, and the internet silently unclenched its jaw.

Now for the good... sort of.

Never one to gloat, about Borderla⛄nds 4's not-$80 price tag on Twitter, and today he did something akin to that silly little dance Football players do when they score a touchdown.

"I am so stoked that Borderlands 4 is $69.99 and not $80," Pitchford said in a . "I am so stoked we’re not doing any paid early access stuff and moved the d😼ate earlier to Sept 12. I am stoked that we are planning a TON of awesome DLC."

So far, we know that the $100 Deluxe Edition of Borderlands 4 includes four post-launch DLC packs with new missions, cosmetics, and the like, and the $130 Super Deluxe Edition includes all that and an additional two story expansions. I'm not 🐎sure if that qualifies as "a ton" for y'all, but I'm thinking there's more to be revealed.

Pitchfo♊rd on that tweet with clarification that "we are going to be working out our DLC plans as we land the game and can shift focus," adding, "we already lots of amazing plans in mind for a range of free and paid content post launch."

The divisive game dev's final,𓄧 for now, on the matter reads𓆉 in part: "We're pulling out all the stops on our end game and our post launch commitment for Borderlands 4."

Purely going off the fact that it's now been six years since the last Borderlands game, not to mention⛎ all of this pre-release hype and controversy, Borderlands 4 has a lot to live up when it launches in September. We'll see if it sticks the landing.

Borderlands 4 is "turning out to be better" than Borderlands 3 "by every measurement we have, including subjective ones," Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford teases.

But if you're really all-in on the Borderlands hype, 2K is giving you the opportunity to drop 150 dollarydoos on a big old collectors edition of the game that Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford thinks is "pretty rad"; and to sweeten the deal you don't even get t🏅he game or the DLC with it.

alerting gamers that the Collector's Edition is available to be ordered from GameStop, saying "It’s pretty rad and will probably sell out, so grab it if you’re into it." The Borderlands 4 Echo-4 Bundle comes with a Cloth Map, 💟8 8-inch tall Echo-4 figure, some art prints, a Vault Symbol necklace, and some in-game Shift Code Cards.

And that's it. Rather than present your biggest fans with the game or even some DLC to go along with their tat, you'll need to drop an extra $130 on top of that to get the full Borderlands 4 experience. Considering the $100 version comes with what is effectively four of Borderlands 2's $3 Headhunter Packs, I'm not sure it's the best value.

Collectors' editions that don't include the game aren't actually new, sadly, but they are all pretty lame. The one for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is cool, mind you, but that comes with a Vinyl Soundtrack – that will inevitably go for nuts prices on Discogs –𝓰 at least (and to be fair, it ).

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4's pricing was announced weeks after Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford said 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:"if you're a real fan" you'll find a way to buy the game if it turned out to be $80. And after the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:controversy and subsequent apology over that comment, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the game is $70. However, the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions cost $100 and $13🦹0 respectively, presumably for the "real fan" to buy.

The elaborates that "we have a huge slate of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:post-launch content planned, including free content drops and updates," while the explains what's to come in the more expensive versions of ꦚthe game with one of those tables that break down everything.

The Deluxe edition comes with the Bounty Pack Bundle, which includes "four unique areas, missions and bosses" and "vault card with unique challenges and rewards" along with cosmetics and weapons. Meanwhile the more ex🍒pensive edition comes with the Vault Hunter Pack, which seems more in-line with a full-blown expansion, with new vault hunters, map regions, and story missions being added.

A fan on Twitter pointed out that the Bounty Pack Bundle sounds similar to the Headhunter Packs from Borderlands 2, which were small D꧟LC packs that added little missions to the game along wiღth a few cosmetics. And yes, these are going to be similar to Headhunter Packs.

"Bounty Packs are going to be similar to Headhunter Packs from Borderlands 2 with Vault Cards and extras!" it writes. "We'll be talking about this and the rest🌌 of our post-launch plans prior to launch!"

Of course, when you look at the cost of the Borderlands 2 Headhunter Packs, they were $2.99 each, so all five of those were just under $15 in total. So forgive me for saying that four Headhunter Pack equivalents for Borderlands 4 being $30 on top of the game sounds like a real bad 𒁃deal. I'm sure Gearbox expects that the "real fan" will gladly go all-in on it, but if we're talking about the same scale as Headhunter Packs, $5 extra for ea🍌ch pack seems a bit much.

The Deluxe Edition – which will set you back $100 – has four of t🌼hese six packs in what's called the Bounty Pack Bundle. They'll have new areas to explore, new missions to tackle, and more loot to get your hands on.

The Super Deluxe Edition costs a not-so-super $130 and has two more DLC packs – which combined are called the Vault﷽ Hunter Pack. Each contains a new story, Vault Hunter, map regions, and more loot.

We don't yet know when any of these DLC are going to launch, and it's important to note that even when we do get a release date, it could change – video ga🏅me developmentꦯ is volatile.

There's no need to panic pre-order the Super Deluxe Edition just yet. All the bundles and𝔉 individual DLC will be available for purchase once the game launcheౠs on September 12, 2025, but we don't know what the separate prices will be. If you want to, though, you can pre-order Borderlands 4 on your preferred platform, .

In the meantime, check out all the other 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming games of 2025 so you know what else there is to look forward to.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 pre-orders are now open, confirming once and for all how much Gearbox's upcoming looter shooter costs, and drum roll, please – it doesn't cost $80 after all, despite the recent price debate kicked off by Gearbox boss🌞 Randy Pitchford.

Ahead of Borderlands 4's release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 12 (the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 version still doesn't have a full release date), publisher 2K has confirmed that the standard edition of the game will cost $70, coming in $10 shy of the price tag everyone ꧟had begun to drea🅰d.

That's not to say that you can't spend more on the game, with the Deluxe Edition (which includes four post-launch DLC packs with new missions, weapons, cosmetics and more) costing $100, a💦nd the Super Deluxe Edition (with all the aforementioned﷽ DLC as well as two Story Packs and some skins) going for $130.

Let's face it, though, we've been faced with pricey deluxe editions of games for years – it's the standard price that everyone was most interested in, thanks to Pitchford's now-infamous "real fan" comments. Last month, responding to a fan who was concerned that Border🌳lands 4 would cost $80, Pitchford stated that, although the price is "not my call," ultimately, "if you're a ൲real fan, you'll find a way to make it happen."

Understandably, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:this didn't go down particularly well, and while Pitchford did later acknowledge that "nobody likes being taken for granted and it was not my intent" (before quickly adding th𝕴at "regardless of where the price lands, it's going to be worth it and then some")💃, the backlash has been dominating discussion about the game since.

Pitchford was about the fact that there's "no price increase for Borderlands 4" today, adding: "Standard Edition launches not at $80, but at $69.99! They're showing you, so please show the𝓡m." I'm 🍰sure he won't be the only one at Gearbox likely hoping that the price comment controversy will blow over now that the looter shooter is officially $70.

Borderlands 4 is "turning out to be better" than Borderlands 3 "by every measurement we have, including subjective ones," Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford teases.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 develop🅘er Gearbox is "confident" that its upcoming looter shooter is "turning out to be better" than Borderlands 3, acco▨rding to boss Randy Pitchford.

Pitchford has been doing some investigation on Twitter over the last week or so, polling Borderlands fans on which facto🐓rs they consider are more likely to correlate with a "better" game, from average play time to positive user revi🔥ews. Overall, his polls suggested that fans value "high actual play time" above other factors, although he's since pointed out that, in an "interesting" twist, players also voted Borderlands 2 as a "larger" game than Borderlands 3, despite the act𓆏ual stats showing a higher average playtime on the latter.

In hi💯s on the matter, Pitchford notes that "I wouldn't focus on the time – it's the relativity that matters." After all, in this context, average playtimes are a slightly inaccurate way to measure things since you've got people on both extremes – those who'll play for all of five minutes, and others who rack up hundreds if not thousand𝕴s of hours – influencing the overall figures. That, and "BL2 has an advantage for having been out so much longer than BL3."

Overall, though, his playtime results suggest Borderlands 3 "is 'better' than BL2 by the standard the people who responded to my poll have favored." Pitchford re🌟cognises that "obviously in🔯dividual tastes vary and entertainment is subjective. We are all edge cases."

Concluding, however, it doesn't sound like the results of Pitchford's polls really mattered that much at all when it comes to Borderlands 4. "In any case, by any standard we've thrown at it, we are confident that BL4 is turning out to be better than BL3 by every measurement we have, including su𓂃bjective ones, so that makes us very excited about the launch!" he adds.

For now, it's just a waiting game to see if that really is the case. There's still quite a wait for Borderlands 4, with it set to arrive on most platforms on September 12, but hey, that's♔ 11 whole days sooner than we originally expectꦆed.

Gearbox finally responds to series-wide Borderlands review bomb after 19 days, says its owner "does not use spyware" and it's actually OK with most mods.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> The Borderla𒁏nds series has been suffering 🤪a massive, series-wide review-bomb for nearly three weeks now, and developer Gearbox has finally addressed it.

Over the past 19 days, beginning on May 19, the entire Borderlands series has been blasted on Steam. According to its recent reviews, the most popular game in the series is Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, with 29% positive reviews. That lack of popul💛arity runs through every numbered entry, down to 2014's Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, which has just 9% positive reviews.

The culprit is the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:new Borderlands user agreement, which players quickly blasted as 'spyware' for reports that it granted high-level access to your machine under the guise of anti-cheat software. Some members of the community have stood up to suggest that that's not really the case, and that Gearbox and its publisher and parent company have all been quite chil🌄l about modding and the like, but it's not done much to improve the review scores.

Now, 19 days after th🦋e first drops of that review-bomb downpour started to fall, Gearbox has issu🍨ed its response. In a , it said that "we know there have been some concerns from Borderlands fans about Take-Two's Terms of Service." Desiring to address some of those concerns, Gearbox kicked off with the eminently reassuring "Take-Two does not use spyware."

It says it asks for permission to collect some data, but that doesn't mean it's actually doing it on every game or service. Where it does collect, Take-Two is trying to "p🅺ersonalize the user expe✤rience," not take a digital peek at its players.

Secondly, the company addresses anti-cheat concerns, saying that what it actually wants to ban are "mods that allow users to gain an unfair advantage," to "protect the integrity of the game experi🎐ence." Generally, it argues, Take-Two "does not seek to take action against mods that are single-player only, non-commercial, and respect the IP rights of its labels."

Whether that does enough to assuage the fears of players, I'm not convinced. Somehow I doubt it, especially since Gearbox snuck this whole thing out while all eyes were elsewhere thanks to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Summer Game Fest. Given that it's also tried 😼dropping steep discounts and full giveaways on some of the🌄se games, however, clearly it knows it needs to do something a little different. But even if that does work, it's still got to compete against the Twitter account of Borderlands boss Randy Pitchford, which is probably doing 🌄about as much dama🃏ge as the EULA.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> One of the biggest controversies currently rocking the Borderlands community stems from an update to Gearbox and 2K owner Take-Two Interactive's privacy policy and terms of service, which has led some fans to worry about the collection of their personal data, among other concerns. However, two prominent modders are now trying to reassure fans that the sit𒅌uation might not be as concerning as it first appeared.

Although Take-Two's latest update to its terms o𝔉f service and privacy policy was released in February, concerns were raised among fans only recently, when they were greeted with the agreements upon loading their Borderlands games. These have ranged from concerns about the collection of data, such as accounts and telephone numbers, to more extreme allegations that the games could somehow function like "spyware" if users agree to the updated terms.

All this has led to a widespread review bombing of the games on Steam. Right now, Borderlands 2 is being offered for free for a limited time, but the recent reviews have been flooded with complaiജnts about the terms of service. Now, though, two prominent Borderlands modders are trying to reassure the fanbase that there's "nothing new" about the agreement in the first place, and it certainly shouldn't have an impact on any game modding.

"I'm sure with thousands of new players trying Borderlands 2 for the first time, I'm bound to be asked 'What about the TOS?!,'" Borderlands modder Epic (the same person leading the effort to revive the Borderlands Online MMO) writes on Twitter. "I've told people it's nothing new many times before. 🃏But don't just take my word for it, here is trusted modder Apple's statement on it."

Epic shares a Discord message from Apple1417, who's created a number of mods before for the Borderlands games. "Recently there's been a lot of misinformation and fearmongering concerning the new 2K TOS," they write. "Rest assured, there is nothing different about it compared to what was there previously – the main clause everyone's freaking out about was already there.

"It will not have any effect on Borderlands mo𒁃dding," they continue, adding: "We'll remind you the Gearbox forums used to have a modding section, all the way since [Borderlands 1], they've never even taken any steps against it, let alone legal action. So please, don't worry abou𝓰t it."

Whether this will serve to calm down anxious fans is another matter, though. After all, the number of negative reviews on Borderlands 2 has only risen since being offered for free, despite the fact that the backlash started weeks ago, and even back then, some fans sugges🌞ted that people were "overreacting" to the whole thing.

Borderlands 4 might not feature fan-favorite Tiny Tina, as her voice actor says they "haven't heard anything" about returning to the series.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Borderlands 2 is temporarily completely free to download and keep on Steam, and Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford is even throwing in some extra loot keys to sweeten the deal, but t💛hat's apparently still not enough to stop the looter shooter's ongoing review bombing.

Despite the recent good news that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 is 澳洲幸运5开奖号🅰码历史查询:releasing earlier than previo🥃usly announced, there has been a lot of negativity in the fanbase lately. This follows a controversial comment made by Pitchford, who suggested that "a real fan" would buy the upcoming game even if costs🅠 $80, as well as a change to Gearbox owner Take-Two Interactive's privacy policy and terms of service, which left some player🎃s worried about the collection of their personal information.

The latter point is largely to blame for the Borderlands games on Steam getting hit with an onslaugh𒅌t of negative review🅠s – Borderlands 2, for example, still has an "overwhelmingly negative" recent rating, despite the ongoing limited-time offer.

"Borderlands 2 is FREE this weekend on Steam!" Pitchford proclaims on Twitt๊er, sharing the offer. "Free is free, yo! Get it and check it out if you haven't played it. It's an oldie, but a goodie."

Pitchford also shares a "SHiFT code for free loot keys💯 in Borderlands, [The Pre-Sequel], 2, 3, and Wonderlands," which unlocks three Golden Keys in the games for some loot. "Good luck, and happy looting!" (th♏e code is 96XTT-STHJJ-JJTTT-TBJT3-CBTZX if you're interested).

Have either of these gestures stopped the negativity, though? No. In fact, looking at Steam's recent reviews bar gra🐭ph, the number of negative reviews was actually larger today and yesterday (when the game was first offered for free) than it's been for a full month, with complaints still focused on the aforementioned privacyཧ policy and terms of service.

At least this time, players don't seem as annoyed about the whole "real fan" debacle as they were when Pitchford announced Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was also temporarily free, while making sure to emphasise that "real fans who may be cost sen♑sitive" mi🎀ght be happy about that fact.

Borderlands 2 is free until 8 June, anyway, so if you wan𒊎t it, be sure to grab it while you can.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Chances are that unless you're a Borderlands mega fan, you'd probably never heard about Borderlands Online until very recently. The long-forgotten MMO was slated for a China-only release when it was announced in 2014, before being killed off for good ﷽in 2015 alongside 2K China. However, one modder and dataminer has been leading the charge in a huge effort to get the game playable again, and they say the project has "consumed me."

Modder EpicNNG – known as Epic – brought Borderlands Online back into the spotlight around a month ago with footage of the game running for the first time since its shutdown. Stuck on its character creator screen, admittedly, but✱ that's further t🐠han anyone else has gotten in a decade.

Since then, however, they took to the community with a request for help from anyone who believes they might be able to get the MMO – which remains unplayable right now thanks to an infinite loading screen, broken scripts, and more – working 🔯again so it can be back in players' hands. And there's good news – speak🌃ing to GamesRadar+, Epic says although "responses started slow," they've "picked up steam fast. I have had people from different parts of the world."

Up until speaking to us, Epic estimates that they've "put around 20-30 hour🅘s" into the project, adding: "It really consumed me. I couldn't sleep without thinking about it. I have no idea how long it will take to finish, though." As for how many people are needed to see it through, it's impossible to say – while "it only takes one dev to get us past the finish line," ultimately, "weꦅ need as many people as possible helping us!"

After all, it's a huge undertaking – Epic calls it "by far my biggest challenge ever." As for what it all involves, the modder explains: "Without getting too in-depth, we are looking at either rebuilding the project in Unity via fixing scripts and materials, or we are try🍬ing to bypass [...] broken code by outright removing dependencies. We 🐷are also looking into setting up our own servers for it if it seems plausible."

Up until now, the "greatest challenge" has been the fact tha💯t the game's code is currently obfuscated. "We are almost entirely working in the dark, with function/method names that are a jumble of letters and numbers," Epic describes. "If we work in Unity, we are then working with thousands of errors. It is mentally depleting to say the least."

With all that in mind, you can understand why "my heart was beating out of my chest" when Epic "made even slight progress at first." While the modder men✨tions looking into the possibility of setting up servers for the MMO, they note that they'll be pleased even if things don't end up getting that far.

"I am happy even if we just make it into the tutorial," Epic tells us. "I don't even care if all we can do is walk around. Up until a month or two ago, this gꦡame felt impossible to even touch. Any progress is a win now."

In addition to all the technical difficulties, there is also a concern that the project could be shut down before it's even finished. In their call for help, Epic mentioned wanting to get it done before the release of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4, worr🔯ying 🌺that they could "receive a cease and desist" because of it being perceived that "we're taking away from the marketing of Borderlands 4."

This isn't a totally firm deadline, as Epic tells💖 us, "I will continue working on this project until I am asked not to by Gearbox, 2K, or Take-Two." Should that day come, "I will be fully cooperative. I do not wish to cause any form of harm to their businesses."

Epic adds: "Aside from ✅the risk of shutdowns, the biggest risk is disappointing people. Sometime🅰s I really need to calm myself down because it makes me so anxious."

Despite taking on such a massive, complicated project, Epic is aspiring to reach even greater heights in the name of game preservation in the future. "I have another project in mind," the modder tells us. "It's𒀰 a Borderlands web game named 'Mount Jackmore' which was discontinued in 2🔯012.

"We currently believe this is harder to obtain than this game [Borderlands Online], and I will need to travel internationally to meet the people who have even the slightest chance of getting me access to it," they continue. "I 🃏will be making that journey this year."

For now, hopeful onlookers will just have to watch this space to see how the projects unfold. Epic has already made a lot more of us aware of Borderlands Online's m♛ere existence than before, which is a win in itself. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that the MMO might finally become playable again after all this time.

Borderlands 3 player beats every last bit of the FPS at the highest difficulty, without getting downed a single time: "The most tense run I've done."

If you haven't claimed a freebie from Ep💝ic before, you just hea🏅d to , click the button to add it to your library, and complete a zero-dollar "purchase" that'll add the game to your account for you to keep just like any other digital purchase.

Our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Tina Tina's Wonderlands review awarded the game four stars back at its original launch in 2022, praising the writing and gunplay while noting that the game coulꦜd get quite repetitive. But that's🍃 par for the course in a loot game, and this kind of asking price makes any such complaint a lot easier to swallow.

You can claim this free copy of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands from now until June 5, at which point it'll be replaced by another free game, as has be𓄧en Epic's way for years. This week is actually offering a double freebie, as you can also claim Limbo, the classic monochrome puzzle platformer from Playdead.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Long-lost Borderlands MMO, Borderlands Online, seems closer than ever to coming back from the dead thanks t🙈o an ongoing f⭕an project, but the modder and developer at its helm is requesting help from the community to make it happen.

Around a month ago, posts from Twitter user EpicNNG gained traction online after sharing footage of Borderlands Online – which was announced in 20🌳14 and set to release exclusively in China – running for the first time💃 since it and 2K China were shut down in 2015.

EpicNNG had already managed to bypass the MMO's login screen to access the character creator, though promptly became "stuck on an infinite loading screen after making a vault hunter." In a new update video (below), however, the developer discusses the ongoing situation a bit more, making it clear that making the MMO playa🔯ble isn't going to be a one or two-person job.

The current build, EpicNNG🐼 says, "has been publicly available for the past 10 years," but it was only recently that another contributor to this fan effort, known as Lewis, discovered it online. Even then, apparently "a lot of the downloads were riddled with viruses," so be very careful if you decide to go looking into any of this stuff yourself. Now though, EpicNNG says "we have confirmed that we have got the full game," and "we know that we can get in eventually, it is just a matter of when."

That matter, though, is where the current contributors are hoping to get a bit of assistance from anyone who thinks they have the technical know-how to help bring the project in🅠to a playable🐭 state. "A lot of the scripts are broken, and when I say broken, I mean broken," EpicNNG says, adding that there are literal "thousands of errors, and to fix that would take us a very long time and would result in the game probably being in a completely broken state when we finally do get into it."

Furthermore, EpicNNG is currently working with "obfuscated code whe𓃲re I bypass the login screen," and noting that attempts to deobfuscate it have, up to this point, just tended to break things.

They've tried and failed multiple times to get past the login screen in a different way, but has made this video because "I need as much help as I can," believing that "we don't have time on our hands," expressing concerns that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4's impending release could lead to the Borderlands Online revival project being shut down. EpicNNG points to how Activision allegedly shut down the viral Call of Duty H2M mod so that it couldn't interfere with Black Ops 6's sales.

"God forbid that happens here, and this gets shut down, and I receive a cease and desist because we're taking away from the marketing of Borderlands 4," the developer continues. "Not my goal, and not the punishment I'm seeking, I purely want to get this done for 🐟the community to see what it was like so we can showcase this game in 2025, 10 years after it was shut down."

EpicNNG also implores anyone considering contributing not to blast leaked information from the gam♏e "all over the internet and get us shut down," noting: "It is going to hurt us and you literally do not care about media preservation if that's the purpose of what you're doing."

The developer a🦩lso has a message for the likes of Take-Two Interactive, 2K, and Gearbox, reiterating that this is "purely a passion project" that's not intended to cause harm or generat🧸e profit. "Please hear my words. I am doing this for the sake of media preservation. I am a fan of the franchise, I am not doing this to harm you."

All in all, EpicNNG believes that to "preserve this and in order to make it something that can truly live forever, it needs to live through other people. And that's why I'm making this video." The dev tantalizin💜gly adds: "This is genuinely history-making stuff, and if we can get it working, I think there's a very, very real chance that we can make something special."

Borderlands 4 might not feature fan-favorite Tiny Tina, as her voice actor says they "haven't heard anything" about returning to the series.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> One of the Borderlands series' most iconic voice actors says watching the movi𒁃e was aꦦ "weird fever dream," because they'd see a character they performed appear in an adapation.

In an interview with , Tiny Tina♈ actor Ashly Burch said that watching the Borderlands movie "was really surreal. Like, such a surreal experience." While Burch's character didn't feature in the original Borderlands game, Tiny Tina was part of the movie's main cast and was portrayed by Ariana Greenblatt. For Burch, that was the weirdest aspect of watching the film.

"There have obviously been game adaptations before, but I just never considered the possibility that something that I was in with a character that I voiced would ever be adapted. So it was strange when I saw the movജie - it took me a solid 20 to 30 minutes to just settle into the fact that it was a movie."

In fact, for Burch, there was a second factor that made the movie feel so strange. "Hearing the names [...] 'that's a character my brother created, that's a character🤡 my brother created' [...] it was weird. An out-of-body experience." Burch's brother, Anthony, was the lead writer on both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, which meant her family put a considerable stamp on the franchise as it exists today.

Overall, however, Burch said that seeing the Borderl🌄ands movie was "cool," because "we made something that was meaningful enough and resonant enough and people love🐽d enough that it got made into something else. But it was, at first, just such a weird fever dream."

It's a nice outlook on a film that didn't often get such nice reviews as Burch's. The Border꧂lands movie made just $30 million for a reported loss of $115 million. That was probably not helped by 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:launching to a R🦄otten Tomatoes score of 0, meaning it spent much of 2024 as the woཧrst-reviewed film of theಞ year. Suffice to say, we're not likely to get a sequel anytime soon, so you'll have to rely on 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4.

Even then, you might not hear from Burch, who says she hasn't "heard anything" about returning to her role for Borderlands 4.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> It sounds as though fan-favorite Borderlands character Tiny Tina won't be featuring in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4, as the character's voice actor s๊ays they "haven't heard🐲 anything" about coming back to record.

In an interview with , Tiny Tina actor Ashly Burch was asked all about her character, but when it came to whether or not we might see her in the upcoming Borderlands 4, Burch said "I haven't heard anything" about being asked to 🐽come back for the role. That would certainly imply that there won't be any sign of Tina in the upcoming looter-shooter.

Burch doesn't elaborate much, but it's certainly a surprising admission. Tina has appeared in every Borderlands game since 2012's Borderlands 2, and while her original role was𓄧 relatively minor, she ended u꧃p headlining an entire DLC for that title. Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep was a D&D parody, but it went on to shape Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, a full-fledged spin-off.

In fact, that spin-off was so successful that developer Gearbox and publisher 2K were quཧick to l🧸abel it a new franchise, one that 澳洲幸运5🌟开奖号码历史查询:it was clearly prepared to invest in. Just months ⭕after its release, this Tiny Tina-fronted titled was hinted to have new experiences "under development." That might have been referring to its DLC, but if the team had only been rolling out a pre-determined content🎶 plan, they likely wouldn't have been so loud about it.

Either way, Gearbox h🌌as gone to some substantial effort to establish Tina as an im💯portant character within the wider Borderlands-verse over recent years. She was even included in the much-maligned Borderlands movie, and while that might have flopped, I'm not sure it was all down to Tina.

Of course, Burch could be pulling the wool over our eyes. It wouldn't be the first time that an actor had had to be economical with the truth when it came to their appearance in a new franchise movie. But if🎶 she is telling the truth, it does sound like this could be the first Tina-less mainline Borderlands game in more than a decade - with Borderlands 4 due out later this year, Gearbox might be leaving it a little late to get Burch into the booth.

Borderlands 4's Randy Pitchford sorta kinda apologizes over $80 "real fan" comment: "Nobody likes being taken for granted and it was not my intent."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> There's plenty to be excited about when it comes to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4, but the upcoming looter shooter hasn't had the best few weeks as far as fans are concerned thanks to a couple of controversies, and not e🌺ven in-game freebies have been able to calm people down.

From 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World to certain 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:unnamed first-party Xbox games coming in the future, one thing is clear – $80 games are becoming a thing whether you like it or not, and for obvious reasons, not a lot of people like it. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:recently got a lot of backlash after he responded to one fan concerned that Borderlands 4 would have this price tag, too, suggesting that "if you're a real fan, you'll find ♌a way to make it happen."

Although he since clarified that "♕it was not my i⭕ntent" to make fans feel like they were being taken for granted, the weird vibes around Borderlands weren't helped by the dwindling but ongoing Steam review b𒐪ombing of other gไames in the series.

Basically, it was recently highlighted that, upon loading up the likes of Borderlands 2, players were asked to agree to updated Terms of Service and a privacy policy from Take-Two Interactive that had some worried about ownership an♛d their privacy when it came to the collection of personaܫl information.

While it's worth noting tꦏhat some have suggested that the latest Terms of Service agreement isn't all that different to the previous🌊 one – with some worried fans potentially overreacting a bit – that's not stopped the negative reviews from pouring in, with Borderlands 1 through 3 all sitting with "mostly negative" recent review ratings on Steam.

And, needless to say, it doesn't seem like any of this is blowing over any time so༒on. Just before the weekend, to share a "free SHiFT code for loot keys" in any and all Borderlands games, offering three Golden Keys so you can get your hands on some extra loot. While a nice bonus, and one Pitchford hands out regularly, the responses are full of people continuing to air their grievances.

"Honestly surprised the code wasn't 'for the true fans,'" , referencin♏g the controversial price comment. : "You sure you don't want the keys to be 8🌸0 dollars, too? We'll find a way to make it happen!"

Meanwhile, there are still plenty of complaints about those updated terms of service, wit♐h one calling them and it "crosses the line." Granted, that ball is likely in Take-Two's cour༒t.

More generally, one simply : "W⭕e done with Boℱrderlands y'all."

We'll have to see if all this passes by the time Borderlands 4 releases in September. In the meantime, Pitchford's latest SHiFT code (which is SR633-TXCRT-BTJBB-JJJJ3-K3BSC) is set to expire 💛on May 29 at 9am PT/ 12pm ET / 5pm GMT, so be sure to enter it before then if you do want to use it.

Borderlands 4 boss Randy Pitchford responds to "real fans" backlash by doubling down on the fact he doesn't set the price: "If you want the truth, here it is."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Following his controversial comments about a potential 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 $80 price tag, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has offered "the truth" behind his statemeꦜnt.

Last week, Pitchford said that "real fans" would be prepared to pay whatever it cost to play Borderlands 4, but that he wasn't in control of its eventual price - which may or may not be $80. Those comments have been hit♌ with significant backlash, with many accusing Pitchfor✅d of being out of touch given the current economic climate.

In🅺 an apparent response, Pitchford took to Twitter again this morning. In a post stating, "If you want the truth, here it is," the Gearbox boss linked a clip from the recent Borderlands 4 panel at PAX East. During that panel, he was asked directly what the game would cost, but stated, "I'll tell you the truth - I don't know."

Pitchford went on to acknowledge that "we've got a competitive marketplace where the people that make those choices want to sell as many units as possible, and they want to be careful about people that are price-sensitive." That sensitivity extends, apparently, to "even the ones deci🥀ding what the prices are," some of whom "don't want to see prices go up."

He also points out that "there are other folks accepting the reality that game budgets are increasing, and there are tariffs for the retail packaging, and it's getting gnarly out there." While the budget for Borderlands 4 is more than twice that of Borderl♌ands 3, I would suggest that gnarliness does extend to the economic situation for…basically everyo🦂ne else, but Pitchford does tap into a relevant point - game development costs are growing faster than players' desire to pay for those games, and that's an existential issue for the industry at large. Perhaps, however, there's a better way to express that by saying 'just make it work'.

It's been a rough week for Borderlands, which is also facing a review-bombing campaign over its new license agreement.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Ahead of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4, fans of the action RPG series from Gearbox Software are rallying online to share their thoughts 𓆏on Take-Two Interactive's new terms of se🍨rvice.

As pointed out by a player in a recent thread, the Borderlands games are currently facing a review bomb of sorts on Steam. The debacle boils down to Take-Two's recently updated user agreement, which is outlined on the holding company's . "People are review bombing the entire Borderlands series because of EULA changes tꦚhat can apparently gain root-level access to your machine under the guise of 'anti-cheat' software."

The poster continues, explaining how fans are upset at the prospect of Take-Two collecting "personal info like accounts, passwords, telephone numbers, etc." One look at the Steam pages for each of the three main Borderlands entri🥂es serves as proof that players are indeed upset about the new terms of service. Under the first game's recent reviews, which have dropped to "Mixed," people share their concerns about the user agreement.

from

"I don't feel comfortable with the terms of service," writes one such fan. Another simply calls the game "spyware" following the integration of Take-Two's new terms of service. The page for Bo🌄rderlands 2 also shows "Mixed" reviews, with players highlighting their worries over the user agreement and how they're afraid it affects their privacy online: "This collects usernames and passwords, IP locations🐠 and browser history data."

Recent Borderlands 3 reviews don't look much bette🦹r, either. One fan exclaims that "recent EULA changes seem insane," while others describe how now "mods are a bannable offense" and any "display of cheats/exploits is bannable" despite the game being largely single-player/co-op rather than an online experience where anti-cheat measures make se💛nse. Elsewhere, people cite the legal implications of Take-Two's new user agreement.

Not everyone is convinced the changes spell the end of Borderlands as fans know and love it, however. As seen on the Reddit post covering the review bombing, some think players are "overreacting" currently: "People are overreacting for sure. The EULA is💝 hardly any different than the one before it all the way back in 2018." Just as the games' reviews are no🗹w "Mixed" on Steam, then, so are the community's opinions on the terms of service.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 is on the way to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 as well as PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, and Gearbox boss Randy Pཧitchford has been singing the Nintendo console's praises in a new video, calling it a 🧸"very powerful" and "incredible machine."

In a new instalment of Nintendo's Creator's Voice series, Pitchford says that "it's pretty astonishing how perfect this platform is for Borderlands 4." Specifically, he points to the "cooperative experience," and how the Switch 2 can be used ಌto "connect with friends💯" and "share our game with friends."

That's not the only reason he📖's a fan of the upcoming console, though, as he's also very complꦡimentary of the power of the system. "The Nintendo Switch 2 has been a joy to work with," he begins. "It's very powerful. It's an incredible machine in a very tight form factor, and we love being on the bleeding edge with our graphics, and the experience that we're creating, and the Nintendo Switch 2 makes all that possible.

"We don't feel like we're fighting the system, we feel like the system's enabling us and empowering us to make the best vers🐻ion of Borderlands 4 we can," he continues. "As a game developer, it's awesome."

Despite Pitchford's praises of the system, it still remains unclear whether or not Borderlands 4 will be releasing on Switch 2 at the same time as its other platforms. Back in February, it was initially announced that the game would be launching on September 23 – a date which wasn't given when it was later confirmed to be coming to Switch 2, too. Instead, during the flurry of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 news, it was simply stated that it'd be arriving on the upcoming console in 2025ꦯ.

Since then, of course, we found out that Borderlands 4 is releasing 11 days earlier than expected, arriving on September 12. Despite th✃is, the Switch 2 release window is still stated to be "2025" in this latest video, as well as in a from the Borderlands Twitter account and on the game's .

For now, it seems🃏 we'll just have to watch this space, but Pitchford is certainly ꦐselling the experience on Nintendo's new console as an overwhelmingly positive one.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4's weapon balance seemingly isn't high on the priority list for developer Gearbox, according to boss🦩 and profes💜sional magician Randy Pitchford.

We just had a massive Borderlands 4 info blowout courtesy of a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:State of Play presentation, days after it was announced that the game is 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:releasing over a week earlier than expected (which we all naively assumed was 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:because of GTA 6 releasing near the original date – 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:how naive we were). The upcoming game has 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:changed up how loadouts work and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:overhauled drop rates and loot to avoid the overabundance of Legendary weapons found in Borderlands 3, and Pitchford is now attempting to ease concerns about weapon ba🌃lance.

As one fan on Twitter states that their two main concerns about Borderlands 4 are the game's performance and balance, Pitchford quotes their post to offer some reassurance. In , the Gearbox CEO says t🌺hat the game will target 60 fps, and as for balance, he said, "F' balance. Make a sick build with some god drop loot and melt bosses. Be a legend."

Of course, the original user didn't say whether they weꦑre in favor of💃 over-the-top weapon balance, but they got an answer regardless.

Borderlands 3 received a lot of back in 2019, which naturally has left people skeptical of Pitchford's comments. However, he doubting his "F' balance" stance, explaining that💜 it's usually Grae💛me Timmins, Borderlands 4's creative director, who deals with balance-related matters.

"It is inevitable that with so much loot and so 🌱many procedural combinations that there could be game breaking drops that he may not have anticipated or that we may not have discovered yet. I am eager to see how Graeme will handle it," Pitchford says.

"The case would have to be extremely rare and likely ver𝓡y strange for me to usurp his decision or come over the top of his authority. I trust Graeme's justice to be fair and swift even if, at times, it may be merciless," he adds. Which sounds to me like Pitchford is saying that the game will receive ba🅘lance updates if things end up being too over the top, making the whole "F balance" comment come under question about four hours after he first said it.

Gearbox's Randy Pitchford says "sometimes we're white-knuckling to the landing," but with Borderlands 4 they've never "been in a better spot this far from launch."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> In an era where 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:more games are charging $80, how much will Gearbox parent Take-Two be asking for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 ahead of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the delayed launch of GTA 6? Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford says he doesn't know the Borderlands 4 price himself, but he's not ruling out "the new price that Nintendo and Microsoft have led with," nodding to recent price hikes across Xbox and the $80 tag on the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 launch title 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World.

Asked about Borderlands 4's price , Pitchfo🃏rd says: "I'll tell you the truth. I don't know. That is the truth. I'll hit it straight on. It's an interesting time.

"On one level, we've got a competitive marketplace where the people that make those choices want to sell as many units as possible and they want to be careful about people that are price-sensitive," he continues. "There are some folks who don't want to see prices go up, even the ones deciding what t🧸he prices are.

"There's other folks accepting the reality that game budgets are increasing,𝄹 and there's tariffs for the retail packaging. It's getting gnarly out there, you guys. Borderlands 4 has more than twice the development budget for Borderlands 3. More than twice. So the truth is, I don't knไow what the price is going to be."

Pitchford says Borderlands 4 pre-orders will op𝓡e෴n "soon," and the price will of course be set by then.

He reasons that, naturally, the devs want to sel🧸l copies to get the budget to make more games. "When the revenue comes in, we can spend it to make big🍌ger games and better games," Pitchford says.

"T🌠he fundamental philosophy is: we want people to buy it so we h♏ave the resources to make more, but we want everyone who buys and plays a Gearbox game to feel certain that they got the better end of the bargain."

He reiterates ♊that "we're gonna have a price set soon." This "might be the new price that Nintendo and Microsoft h✃ave led with," he added, not saying $80 out loud but leaving no room for doubt, or "it might be that we stay back."

"It's gonna be the people at the publishing house that decide that. If it is cheaper, maybe we'll sell you that minimap that you guys want that we'll develop later🎃," he joked, referring to some of the hesitant player feedback to Borderlands 4 going all-in on a compass instead of using a minimap (I'm actually not against the idea given the focus on verticality). "How bad you want that? $10? I don't know. I'm just kidding."

Former PlayStation boss blames AAA "production costs" for $80 games, says titles with "tighter teams" like Clair Obscur could be the way forward.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> The first time Bethesda boss Todd Howard was selling us all on Skyrim, somewhere 💖around the Cretaceous period, "that mountain is not just a backdrop, you can walk all the way to the top of that mountain."

This 'you can climb that mountain' promise has evolved into one of the many memes stuck to Howard's leather jacket like a fish hook in your thumb, and it's a promise that Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has now one-upped with extremely similar verbiage in his excitement for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4.

Speaking at earlier today, Pitchford discussed the scope of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史ඣ查询:Borderlands 4's not-technically-open-world environments. He reiterated that the new setting of Kairos is "by far ౠthe biggest universe that we've built. And it's seamless. There's no load times."

And then Howard seems to a👍stral project and assume control of Pitchford, who says: "You see something anywhere on the screen, a mile away, up in the sky, you will be able to get there."

Lots of games with big worlds have made similar promises, and plenty have generally lived up to the idea, including Skyrim. There's a reason Skyrim is now a verb used to describe cli☂mbing 🌌mountains like a particularly stubborn goat.

I think the bes꧅t way to avoid getting too hung up on this or sim🌠ilar design semantics is, like with the law, to respect and follow the spirit, if not the letter. Will this stop some fastidious Borderlands 4 players from posting granular video breakdowns of the limitations that any environment is sure to have because it turns out game worlds can't go on forever? Absolutely not.

As a longtime Borderlands enjoyer, I am genuinely intrigued by the environmental depth and verticality that Gearbox is promising in Borderlands 4. Movement mechanics have been expanded and modernized, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:a grappling hook is alw✅ays catnip to me, and Pitchford spent quite some time talkin🍬g up the ability to go a zillion miles away from your co-op partners to explore and then instantly teleport back to each other with no downtꦜime.

I don't think I'll be jumping 10,000 times to scale the set dressing – these games often forget to put something interesting atop the proverbial mountain 🎃– but I guess it's cool that I have the optiꦇon.

With Borderlands 4, Gearbox says "we've overhauled our drop rates and loot across the game" – and admits that "in Borderlands 3, [Legendaries] dropped too often."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Almost 10 years si🎐nce it was killed off for good, it💦 appears that one long-forgotten Borderlands MMO has a chance of coming back from the dead thanks to one dedicated fan.

I can hear your confusio𓆏n already, "what Borderlands MMO?" You'd be totally forgiven if you'd never heard of it – titled Borderlands Online, the MMO was an🦹nounced back in 2014 and was set to release exclusively in China.

Less than a year later, dreams for the game were crushed as 2K China was shut doꦇwn. A at the time, saying that it was "determined that the additional time required to finish current projects at the studio, particularly Borderlands Online, would not yield a favorable return on investment▨."

You'd think that'd mark the end of the MMO for good, but as , a glimmer of hope has emerged thanks to dataminer, modder, and game developer @EpicNNG on Twitter. Last week, the datam𝔍iner took to the platform : "BREAKING: I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY OBTAINED A BUILD OF THE CHINESE BORDERLANDS ONLINE MMO."

For a while, @EpicNNG was stuck on the MMO's login screen, despite having "a ton of good ideas to brute force" their way in. However, even after they "just kept running into walls," the dataminer was determined to make the long-lost game accessible to ♔the masses: "Won't give up though, I'll make sure the community gets to experience this game one way or another."

Thankfully, it didn't take too long for the first major hurdle to be conquered, as @EpicNNG has gotten past the login ꦑscreen and made it to the MMO's character creator. "Here is gameplay of the Character Creator in Borderlands ONLINE, running for the first time since it got shut down," the꧙y share. "Customization for each character is rather limited, but cool regardless. So surreal to have access to this in 2025."

For now, you apparently get "stuck on an infinite loading screen after making a vault hunter," but it sounds like this is just the start of a bigger project for @EpicNNG. "Since servers are dead, I think I'll go for the name 'Borderlands Offline,'" they ponder. "It will also need unꦅcapped FPS, FOV changes, translating to English, and hopefully that's it. I guess you could say it needs a… Redux?"

From the outside, that frankly doesn't♎ sound like a small amount of work – translation alone sounds like it could be quite a task. However, the fact that Borderlands fans now🔥 have a chance of playing something once lost to time is an enormous win.

Borderlands fans really can't stop winning, as only last week it was announced that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 is releasing 11 days earlier than previously expected. That's a much better situation than GTA fans have found themselves in, as Rockstar, on the other hand, announced that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:GTA 6 has been 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:pushed back to next May.

"Vex the Siren is a powerful Siren who can empower herself or manifest deadly shades to fight alongside her," a press release says. During the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 State of Play, we see how Vex wields supernatural phase energy to blast away enemies with her bare hands, or to create scyth꧑e-ꦑwielding spirits to fight her battles with her.

Like other Borderland🌞s 4 Sirens – ultra-powerful, otherworldly beings, including the fan-favorite bad giꦚrl Lilith, who may or may not be dead at the end of Borderlands 3 – Vex seems highly capable. But even with magic at her fingertips, it looks like she couldn't turn down her purple panther companion.

Gearbox shows off its muscle during St🃏ate of Play, while demonstrating Vex's class abilities, or action skills. Vex can use something like 🍌the skill Incarnate to trigger a Phase Explosion that destroys opponents while regenerating her health, but Phase Phamiliar offers what looks like a more unique combat strategy.

With this ski🐈ll, Trouble, Vex's ghostly Minion, can turn "into a Badass" that restores health and boosts damage for a limited amount of time. If only I could get the pigeons on my roof to do the same thing.

You'll be able to play as Vex and her evil kitty cat – along with three꧃ other new Vault Hunters including, an exo-suit soldier Rafa, whose impressive range of weapons was also showcased during State of Play – when Borderlands 4 launches on September 12.

As for loot, Gearbox gave a broader overview of what soundﷺs like a marginally new philosophy that seems to amount to: lowered drop rates so that loot feels valuable again.

"We've overhauled or drop rates and loot across the game," said Borderlands 4 creative direct𒀰or Graeme Timmins. "We've worked hard to make sure all our gear feels better than ever, while also making rarity matter again. This makes for our most satisfying loot chase ever.

"And at the top of everything, our Legendaries," continued Timmins. "These have always had unique effects that you won't find on any other piece of gear, but in Bor♈derlands 3 they dropped too often. This not only devalued Legendaries, it made everything feel less valuable. In our new system, not only do all guns feel great, but now Legendaries will truly be special events. We've added the magic back to our loot chase, and we know you'll love grinding all that great gear on Kairos."

If you haven't watched the brand new Borderlands 4 gameplay trailer, head here to get a glimpse at some of the new weapons and skills, new traversal mechanics, and what looks to our eyes like an open-w𒈔orld despite Gearbox previously saying it wasn't going to be open-world.

For a more comprehensive overview, here's everything announced at the Borderlands 4 State of Play.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> I'm feeling a bit lopsided after the big 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 State of Play live show, which ended up being pretty generous with details even with Gearbox holding back for a more in-depth show timed coming later this month. The latest entry to the somehow 16-year-old series make﷽s some big changes to one of its core pillars, gunplay, which looks pretty promising at first blush.

This follows the news that Borderlands 4 is launching more than a week early, which Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford says has nothing to do with the timing on 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:GTA 6, the heavyweight project of publisher Take-Two.

澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 features five reღturning weapon manufacturers and three new ones with their own quirks. Here's the full list:

 • Jakobs focuses on headshots
 • Maliwan spills elemental damage
 • Vladof brings big magazines and a rate of fire to match
 • Tediore guns explode when you chuck them on a reload
 • Torgue specializes in explosions
 • (New) The Order deals in "charge-and-release blasts"
 • (New) Ripper doubles down on full-auto
 • (New) Daedalus are "reliable" and "easy to use" with support for multiple ammo types

The glue holding these manufacturers together is a new "Licensed Parts" system that sounds a lot like weapon modding, but is seemingly tied to RNG.ജ "This allows for behaviors and abilities from multiple manufacturers to spawn in a single weapon," Gearbꦏox explained during the show.

In one examp﷽le, a Vladof rifle sported a Torgue mag, Hyperion attachment, and Maliwan switch, "meaning it shoots fast and explodes things." It's currently u🌞nclear if we'll be able to customize these components ourselves, but it sounds like it's all down to what weapons drop with.

Still, this ought to ♛make your umpteenth version of the same gun more interesting.

"The higher the rarity, the more parts it can randomly spawn, creating wilder and wilder loot," Gearbox added. "A♏nd that's before even getting into alt-fire modes, underbarrels, and elemental damage."

Another significant change is found in the gear menu. You've still got four weapon slots, with an Enha💯ncement item taking the place of Artifacts and adding "bonuses to specific manufacturers" or guns with their parts, but I'm most interested in the new Ordnance slot.

Ordnance is a cooldown-based, not ammo-based, weapon slot shared by grena♑des and heavy weapons like rocket launchers. My current read of this slot is that grenades will have a short cooldown for better uptime, while rocket launchers or the chain guns demonstrated during the showcase would have a longer cooldown but pack a much greater punch.

My previous go-to Borderlands loadout generally included a rifle or submachine gun, a shotgun, a sniper, and a rocket. With Borderlands 4's Ordnance addition, my rocket slot is suddenly wide open. What will I do without my quadrilogy? Two rifles? Two shotguns, dare we ♛dream? Grenades often felt a little throwaway in previous games, so as much as I hate change, I think I๊'m willing to make the trade here.

It's not quite a fifth weapon slot, but it sure sounds close enough in practice. And with n🍸o hea🐎vy ammo to worry about, you can fire a little more liberally too.

"No more saving the big guns for boss fights," as Gearbox put it. "Now you can blow stuff up as often as you wantꦏ."

Fortnite brings back long-forgotten Borderlands collab skin for the first time in almost 5 years, right on cue for Borderlands 4's new, earlier release date.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has previously said that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 isn't really an open-world game, but the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 State of Play sure made it seem like the looter-shooter sequel fits that genre description. There's a seamless ജplanet to explore, populated with smaller activities to engage in, and even a Destiny-style on-demand vehicle to make getting around the world easier.

Borderlands 4 takes place on Kairos, which is made up of four zones "that you can seamlessly explore" with "next to no loading time," finding "dynamic weather and events" as you go. The State of Pꩵlay broadcast demonstrated the path to what looks like a story mission, but it seems there'll be plenty of room to be distracted by side activities along the way, with "no need to pick up a mission" to engage with them.

As🐷 described in a follow-up post on the , you'll "come across short gameplay experiences and new activities that auto-grant a tracked mission whenever you discover them – like Silos, which hous൲e old, decommissioned Order tech that you can hijack for the Crimson Resistance."

Clear a silo, and it'll be turned into both a fast travel point and a launcher that'll send you flying into the air so you can glide down to your next destination. The glide joins double-jumping, d🐻ashing, and point grappling to vastly expand your movement options. Each cleared silo will also point you toward a Vault Key fragment. Collect enough, and you'll be able to open a Vault for a high-level dungeon run with high-level loot.

So, we've got a giant world with distinct, but seamlessly connected areas to explore, dynamic weather, optional side activities that unlock fast travel points and new content, plus an array of movement abilities engineered to help you get around. That sure sounds like an open-world game to me – and the fact that you can pull out a personal vehicle to spee✃d 🥀up your exploration seals the deal.

Pitchford previously acknowledged that Borderlands 4 would be the "most open and free" entry in the series yet, but said he 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:wouldn't use the term "open-world" since it "comes with a lot of baggag♒e that doesn't a🧸pply. You'll see."

I'm guessing that means the game will try to dodge the issues that plague some open-world games, like repetitive checklist activities that offer minimal rewards. We'll see how Borderlands 4 delivers on that front when it launches on its 澳洲幸运5开奖号♏码历史查询:newly minted release date of September 12.

GTA 6 has nothing to do with Borderlands 4's new release date, as Gearbox CEO insists it's "100% the result of confidence," not "any other product's actual or theoretical launch date."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 may be releasing earlier than expected, but Gearbox's CEO really wants to make it clear that this has nothing to do with the launch dates of any other games, which is notable as plenty were theorizing if it could help narrow down 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:GTA 6's release.

Yesterday, it was confirmed that Borderlands 4 will be coming out 11 days sooner than previously announced, arriving on September 12 instead of September 23. Previously, Borderlands 4 was set to directly clash with the release of Bungie's upcoming extraction shooter, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Marathon, but th෴e game that has been brought up concerning the early launch is GTA 6.

Rockstar Games and Gearbox Software are both owned by Take-Two Interactive, and its CEO, Strauss Zelnick, previously said he thought it was "safe to say that we wouldn’t, and no one would, stack up huge releases unnecessarily." With GTA 6 currently eyeing up a fall 2025 release, this statement was already enough for fans to speculate that Borderlands 4's original launch date could have narrowed down when we can expect Rockstar's upcoming blockbuster to be upon us.

Fast forward to today, and you can understand why many could question if the move of Gearbox's game might be related to Rockstar's own release, but CEO Randy Pitchford asserts that this isn't the case. "Borderlands 4 shipping early is 100% the result of confidence in the game and development traꩵjectory backeℱd by actual tasks and bug find/fix rates," the Gearbox boss explains on Twitter. "Our decision is literally 0% about any other product's actual or theoretical launch date."

That ties into what Pitchford wasꩵ saying in his video announcing the news, too, where he said that everything is "going kinda the best-case scenario" behind the scenes of Borderlands 4's development, and added: "The game is awesome, the team is cooking."

Is this latest statement going to stop any GTA 6 fans desperate for news from speculating if there might secretly be more to all this behind the scenes? Most likely not, but that's ♛the official line, and Pitchford is sticking to it. To Gearbox's credit, it seems incredibly unlikely that the devs would be willing to shift their release date like this moꦦnths in advance unless they were very confident about how things were looking.

We'll be given an even greater look at Borderlands 4 later today (April 30) thanks to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:its own dedicated State of Play stream, too. It'll be going l🥀ive at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm BST / 11pm CEST, so💯 don't miss it.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Sony has announced☂ a "special" State of Play stream for Borderlands 4 after the shooter's old release date got swapped out for one nearly t♛wo weeks sooner.

"Get ready for a deep di𓆉ve on Borderlands 4," creative director Graeme Timmins writes in . "During this special State of Play, I'll be joined by ꧋other members of the Gearbox team to share the nitty-gritty details of how you'll wreak havoc across Kairos and take down the Timekeeper."

Until now, developer Gearbox has been fairly tight-lipped about 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4, the first main game in the riotous series since 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 3 came out in 2019. Since Borderlands 4 is now releasing on September 12 instead of September 23 – a change due to the fact that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:"the game is a☂wesome, th𒁃e team is cooking," Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford suggests – it's good ꦕthat Gearbox is ready to open up.

Where to watch Borderlands 4 State of Play

Yoไu'll be able to view the Borderlands 4 State of Play on the PlayStation and channels on April 30 – as of writing, that's tomorrow.

Borderlands 4 State of Play time

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Borderlands fans can't stop winning, as 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Fortnite just brought back its old collab skin to the battle royale for the first time in almost five years, just in time for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 to get an 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:earlier release date.

Fortnite has loads of fun collab cosmetics, allowing players to go for a victory royale as everyone from Spider-Man to Satoru Gojo, to Hatsune Miku and Solid Snake, but 💟sometimes, actually being able to get your hands on the skins is easier said than done. Cosmetics released in the item shop are constantly🉐 rotating in and out, so they're not always available, and some things have been absent for quite some time.

While I've been in a constant state of regret over missing out on Resident Evil's Leon Kennedy in 2023, fans of other franchises have been waiting even longer for certain collaborations to return, like the popular League of Legends Arcane skins, which have been missing for over three years and won't be coming back "in the foreseeable future." It's stuff like that that makes the return of Borderlands' own Psycho Bandit bundle – complete witܫh the skin itself, as well as a Claptrap back bling and Psycho Buzz Axes – even more worth celebrating.

The last time these cosmetics were available to buy from the battle royale's item shop was all the way back in May 2020, so i🌱t's been a really long time coming for anyone who missed ou꧋t. There was a longer period of availability for the skin for anyone who was up for buying Borderlands 3 on the Epic Games Store before the end of 2020 – those players got it as an extra bonus, but that eligibility period has long since expired.

Looking at the fine print in the item shop today, it's confirmed that Psycho Bandit will be available to buy until ܫMay 3 at 5pm PT, 8pm ET, or May 4 at 1am BST. After that, as with any skin, it's not known how long it'll be before he's back again.

While some players love having "rare" skins, those being ones which haven't been seen in ages or were only available for a very limited time, I imagine♈ 🐭there's a lot more people simply happy to have the opportunity to grab a collab they missed out on before.

Is that going to s🐻top some old Psycho Bandit owners from being a tad annoyed thꦏat their skin isn't as elusive as it once was? Probably not. But personally, I hope this sets the stage for even more of the long-forgotten collabs to return to the battle royale.

Again, the timing of the skin's comeback is impeccable, as just a couple of hours ago it was revealed that Borderlands 4 is now set to release on September 12 instead of ൲September 23, so we can prepare to embark on the new looter shooter 11 days earlier than expected.

I꧂t's also been revealed that the deep dive Borderlands 4 State of P꧃lay will be taking place tomorrow, which should hopefully be full of new details for us to pore over.

Borderlands 4's tone sits somewhere between the first two games, which probably means less Skibidi Toilet and more Handsome Jack-style antics.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> This is not a drill – Borderlands 4's release date just got altered, but in the best way possible for fans. Gearbox's next instalme💞nt is now launching over a week earlier than previously announced.

As revealed in a video from Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford today (which was swiftly deleted, but is apparently being reposted soon), 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 is now set to release on September 🅺12 – a whole 11 days sooner than its old September 23 launch date.

Pitchford teases that "everything's going kinda the best-case scen🧸ario. The game is aweso♏me, the team is cooking," hence why it'll end up being in our hands sooner than expected.

"This never happens you guys, this never happens! We're moving the launch date forward! You're gonna get B💞orderlands 4 earlier!" Pitchford continues.

The Gearbox CEO also notes that the previously-announced Borderland♈s 4 deep dive State of Play is "coming up imminently," so it sounds like we won't have to wait long for tꦦhat.

"It's gonna be awesome,🥀 we show you more about the game than you've ever seen before. And we are pumped," Pitchford adds, asking fans to look to Sony and 2K's own channels for details. At the time of writing, nothing has been posted there just yet, but we'll be sure to keep an eye on things.

So, be honest, how many 𓂃of you thought Pitchford's news was going to be a Borderlands 4 delay at first? Given that his tweet said that "we have to move the launch date," it wasn't looking too g♎ood at first, but this is certainly a welcome surprise.

Borderlands 4 is coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and even Switch 2.

Gearbox didn't set out to create an open-world game with Borderlands 4, but the FPS does have "open-world-like features, such as seamless travel between zones."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Gearbox Entertainment has revealed that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 is in "active development," and is but one of several projects th🦋e developer plans to release with new owner Take-Two.

reveals that Take-Two Interactive - publisher of games from Rockstar, 2K, Private Division, and more - is in the process of acquiring Gearbox Entertainment after buying it from Embracer, who sold it for $460 million after acquiring it for $1.3 billion just 3 years ago.

In a statement regarding the purchase of the Borderlands studio, 2K's presidenཧt, David Ismailer, revealed that the developer is now working on the next installment of the franchise. "We are thrilled to welcome Randy Pitchford and his team of passionate, talented developers to 2K, and we look forward to releasing numerous projects in the future as colleagues," the company president shares.

"We have loved partnering with Gearbox on every iteration of the Borderlands franchise and are excited to be in active development on the next installment in the series." The announcement doesn't go as far as calling the project 'Borderlands 4', but sincꦜe this is the "next installment," and the last one was Borderlands 3 in 2019, it's a fair guess that this is potentially the next mainline title.

We've heard whispers of a new Borderlands game since late 2023 after both Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2 were both namedropped by a developer. Not too long after this, Gearbox's co-founder, Randy Pitchford said that an unannounced Borderlands game was "the greatest thing we've ever done" - despite there not even being a full🧔🔯 reveal just yet.

Before Borderlands 4, we've got the Borderlands movie, which is said to kick off the "Borderlands Cinematic Universe" and release this summer. Clearly, Gearbox and Take-Two💟 have a lot of plans with the Borderlands IP.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Another year, another controversy over yellow paint in video games – something so reg⛄ular at this point that games media is forced to report on it every few months, like an ancient lich that won’t quite stay dead.

Every now and again a subset of gamers erupt in disdain for the use of eye-catching yellow paint to highlight climbable or interactive objects, like 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:a ladder in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, oಌr signposting measures like a line on the floor pointing the way through an abandoned building.

This time, people are mad at the use of the high-contrast color in the demo for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, with a post of Cloud climbing a yellow-dappled wall so that players can easily identify the𒈔 handholds used to climb up. The argument goes something like this: gamers aren’t that dumb, or if they are, they should be left to scramble.

I have little patience for this in a game that is not exactly known for its visual subtlety, led by a protagonist with possibly the swordiest sword in video games (it’s taller than he his) and a haircut so distinctly haircut as to be instantly recognisable. Why does y🍸ellow paint break the immersio𝓰n, but nothing else about the production or character design does?

The comments on this post in particular devolve into debates on whether red, explosive barrels are different from yellow markings on cliffs – in either case, the highlight is used to differentiate these objects from others. So you know that these barrels are flammable, and those barrels aren’t; this wall is climbable, that one is a dead end.

Being instantly recognisable is really the point here. Yellow is a high contrast color, and often used in environments where something needs to be immediately visible: a hi-vis jacket, a hardhat, yellow kerb lines. It’s a color often used in real life to mark out objects more clearly, and people rarely complain about its use in those c෴ontexts.

Fr🔯om an accessibility standpoint, it’s a smart inclusion for people with vision impairments, and also enables players without impairments to focus on traversal or interaction inst✅ead of hunting around for the object or exit route that they need.

"Why does yellow paint break the immersion, but nothing ⛄else a🌃bout the production or character design does?"

Video games these days can contain a dizzying number of environmental details and objects; long gone are the days where a house would contain one pot with a single rupee. The growth in visual detail is astonishing, and a technical marvel, but it means there’s now a lot to look at. Real, or realistic environments can be hard to traverse: have you ever tried escaping a large sup🍃ermarket? There’s a reason many of those spaces will ensure there are arrows on the floor.

Modern, 3D, hyper-realistic game environm♔ents can be incredibly busy, and that requires more visual aides to help sort through the clutter, so the developers can successfully point you towards the aspects of the environment that are of immediate concern to you. Otherwise you can find yourself walking in a circle, failing to click on every crate that might let you climb on top of it. I can’t count the number of times I’ve𝓡 cursed under my breath because I couldn’t interact with a decorative door (Bethesda, I’m looking at you).

Any video game with traversable ledges and cliffs will use some version of this, if to different degrees: God of War uses white and red runic markings, Horizon Zero Dawn has yellow girders and lines, while climbing sims or parkour games (Jusant, Assassin’s Creed) will make sure to alter the prominence of texture of a handhold along a wall. While some games do this more subtly, it’s ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚsomething that’s happening everywhere, and ensures players can get on with, well, playing the game.

While yellow paint plastered on a wall may break the visual immersion for som💖e, it ensures continual🔯 immersion in the mechanics of the game itself.

Back when we reported on the Resident Evil 4 Remake ladder controversy, Boss Fight creative director commented that “Immersion is not a measure of how realistic the grass looks, it's a measure of how much you are into the flow of the experience. And while hot shit art can be a factor, game readability trumps it ... The things that break immersion are the things that break your flow in a game, usually because you know what you need to do but can't figure out how to intera♉ct with the game to do it."

Not everythiꦑng in a game needs to be a challenge. If it wa💎stes the player’s time, then how is a wall without visual cues aiding you in any way?

Gearbox narrative director makes the point that, while playtesting continually shows how much players need helpful visual hints, “People *want* to be handled, but they don’t want to *know* they are being handled.” For people who play a lot of video games, and feel confident traversing a space without visual aids, it can start to feel condescending, like someone holding your hand any time you go to cross the road. I’m not a kid anymore!

I’m generally a fan of toggle options where possible, letting some players turn off hints when they don’t want them – I often prefer to get rid of gold ‘quest’ lines hovering in the air and explore a bit more freely in an open-world game, for instance. But just like in real life, visual aides are there to make the world readable to everyone, not just players with 20:20 vision and years of experience grappling with ඣunoptimised interfaces.

My advice is this: enjoy the flow, and focus yo♒ur brainpower on whatever’s at t🌳he top of the cliff instead.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Our resource controller, a slice of Homeworld 3's utilitarian but sleek geometry, floats near a debris field. Smaller resource collectors swarm around it, their orange beams siphoning material that will feed our research and build queues. They are guarded by interceptors, mainstay of this series' dogfights for nearly 25 years. We hit the spacebar, listen for the ꦫthrum as the view pulls back into the sensor overlay, and survey the tactical map. Enemy icons have appeared. We scramble our interceptors. Engine trails dance against the glow of a nebula, as the unit chatter grows urgent and🌟 Paul Ruskay's score transitions from synths to percussion.

Perhaps more than i🎀ts genre-defining space combat, full 3D, intuitive UI or persistent fleets, Homeworld is remembered for its atmosphere. There is s꧙omething conjured up by the hard sci-fi aesthetic, the Middle Eastern influences, the minimalist cutscenes, and the detached professionalism of your advisers, contrasted with the frantic pace of battles, that hasn't quite been replicated anywhere else. While we know little about the campaign, it's a relief to find that atmosphere recaptured so completely here.

War games

Homeworld 3

The simple ingenuity of Homeworld's structure returns. Hotkeys that streamline rote actions such as harvesting; control groups that make it easier to manage a varied fleet through the rock-paper-scissors game of matching ally ship strengths to enemy ship weaknesses, formations and behaviors; the frugal unit cap; the ebb and flow of zooming out to issue orders and in to follow a ship to victory or d🃏emise. But there are also subtle additions

Unit chatter is dynamic, with units reacting differentl💯y to a changing situation: pull a resource collector's escort away and you will hear about it if they come under fire. While the XYZ-axes movement wheel is present, certain strategic points are circled and units can be dispatched there with a click on the circle. Camera controls have been refined, making it harder to accidentally issue commands or unint🔴entionally pan out of the play area and easier to move through it. The tactical pause returns, but it's supplemented by four game speed options (disabled in multiplayer).

Other additions are more substantial. The majority of our session is focused on War Games, a PvE Roguelike mode that can be played alone or cooperatively with up to three players. Players work against t🐬imed enemy waves to complete a series of randomized objectives, from escorting a VIP to capturing a location. Even with an experienced Gearbox player caওrrying the day, these test our abilities.

Matches comprise three levels, with the last culminating in what Gearbox is loosely calling a boss fight – in our case, a face-off against a powerful battlecruiser. During a match, artifacts can be co💧llected to buff and debuff, or even unlock, certain units. At the end of a match, a permanent reward is earned, which currently takes the form of artifacts and different starting fleets for the next round.

Missions take place on battlefields that offer a surprising variety of level design, including debris fields, mining facilities and giant megaliths. These structures reshape levels from mere spherical space into tactically varied playgrounds, presenting n༺ew options for subterfuge and cover: fly a squadron through a facility to flank an enemy, for instance, or hug 🅠a monolith to protect your capital ship from enemy fire.

The additions neither undermine the feel of Homeworld nor make it easier. If anything, they are reasons to throw more at you and give the series ne🔜w depth. There might not be opportunities for it to be as revolutionary as the original, which was a lightning-in-a- bottle moment, but this sequel is on course to offer the best kind of homecoming.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 💛New entries in the loot, shoot, then loot some more series (Borderlands) might be in the works.

澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 and fantasy-adjacent sequel Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands 2 were recently mentioned in the profile of Ra🍌ndel Reiss, the former technical director of Lost Boys🔯 Interactive, which is a support studio that previously helped out on Tiny Tina’s first spin-off and other Take-Two projects. (Good find, .)

The possible existence of either game is no surprise considering how the Borderlands series sells quicker than something shiny spat out of a sci-fi-fantasy vault. 2019’s Borderlands 3 reportedly performed 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:“well beyond” expectations and has passed 18 million units sold. 2022’s Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, meanwhile, was viewed as a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:new franchise by developer Gearbox thanks to its commercial and critical reception.

The nods to new outings come amid a possible♉ sale of Gearbox under its parent company Embracer Group. Embracer acquired the developer for $1.3 billion in 2021 when it promiseꦓd to expand the studio’s capabilities. But Embracer, who have be💧en snatching up studios and franchises left and right, has finally hit a few large speed bumps.

Following a mass spending spree that saw them acquire everything from Tomb Raider to the entirety of Middle-Earth, Embracer announced plans to cut back and lay off staff earlier this summer. In September, the company then 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史🌌查询:shut down Saints Rꦿow stewards Volition.

Regardless, interest from potential buyers means that Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina 2 are probably safe bets, and will see the light of day no matter who’s funding Gearbox. <![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Update: It seems that references to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 on one actor's resume were made in error. Rather than a proper video game sequel, the actor has a role in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands EchoVision Live, the Black Mirror: Bandersnatch-sꦅt🐠yle interactive series.

"Actor Angie Jho Lee is a voice actor on Genvid Entertainment’s upcoming interactive streaming series, Borderlands EchoVision Live, which was announced at San Diego Comic-Con last month," a Genvid representative told GamesRadar+. "While the series takes place within the Borderlands universe and is made in partnership with Gearbox Entertainment, it is not a Borderlands game. We reached out to Angie and asked her to make this change on her personal account to r🍌eflect the accurate role with the interactive series."

Original story: An actor has listed 'Borderlands🍷 4' on their resume, while a producer has revealed the sequel was slated to launch this year.

The resume belongs to actor , who Borderlands fans noted hไad quite the interesting entry in the 'Voice Over' section of her roles. Not only does Jho Lee outright list 'Borderlands 4' in that section, but shಌe also reveals she's taking on the role of a character called "Aiyumi."

Jho Lee actually isn't the only creative to casually mention Borderlands 4 in their body of work. This for producer Nadia Danova also mentions Borderlands 4 in her 'Experience' section, ဣand also reveals that, when they were working at developer MoGi Group back in🅺 2021, Borderlands 4 was apparently slated to launch in 2023.

However, Danova departed MoGi Group back in May 2021, meaning the information on her LinkedIn page about the developer⭕'s plans is effectively over two years out of date. Perhaps we shouldn't take this comment about Borderlands 4 releasing in 2023 as gospel, then.

These details would appear to confirm speculation from 2021 that🔴 Gearbox was working on Borderlands 4. At the time Gearbox co-founder Randy Pitchford shot down speculation that Gearbox was merely "co-developing" another Borderlands🐼 game, reassuring fans they were taking the lead on "the big one."

It was admittedly hard not to look at Pitchford's comments as a direct hint about a new mainline Borderlands game at the time. Two years on from Pitchford's comments though, we might finally꧙ have unintended confirmation about Gearbox's next major project.

We've contacted Gearbox and publisher 2K for comment, and will update this article with any ad🎐ditional information.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 3 sold well beyo🎃n🔯d expectations, Epic Games has revealed.

Speaking to in a new interview earlier this week, Epic Games Store general꧋ manager S🔯teve Allison revealed Borderlands 3 had surpassed sales targets. It's apparently "just crushed, like, well beyond the expectations of the developers and the publishers," Allison said.

Borderlands 3 had a really long tail of post-launch content in the years following release, so perhaps the news of it selling gangbusters isn't really a huge surprise. Gearbox worked tirelessly to bring new Vault Hunters to the game after launch, as well as a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:full cross-play update linking together P𝔍C, Pla🅷yStation, and Xbox platforms.

There were even more granular updates for Borderlands 3, including 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查ℱ询:new skill trees for characters like Moze, and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:brand new modes like Arms Race. Years and years of pos𝄹t-launch content make a lot more sense for a game that's performing well above the expectations of its developer and publisher.

Borderlands 3's excellent sales might've even factored into Embracer's purchꦜase of Gearbox for $1.3 billi🌳on. If the looter shooter really has performed that well, it'd make sense for Gearbox to be an appealing acquisition target, especially given that the studio's committed to extending the Borderlands franchise with 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Oh, and then there's the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands movie tꦡo contend with. It's not unreasonable to expect Borderlಞands 3 to get a little sales boost if the movie performs well, so the sequel could be set for even bigger things in the future.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Gearbox Entertainment has purchased the Risk of Rain IP originally developed by Hopoo Games, which moꦛst recently released t🎃he Survivors of the Void DLC for Risk of Rain 2.

Hopoo and Gearbox announced the news in a joint posted to the Risk of Rain Twitter account, and Hopoo confirmed to GamesRadar that the sale is final. The amount the IP sold for has not been revealed. Gearbox Publishing published 2020's Risk of Rain 2, and Gearbox Entertainment apparently liked the arrangement so much that it's gꦑobbled up the whole IP. Hopoo Games itself, however, will remain independent.

"After years of passionate publishing work on ꦛRisk of Rain 2, we have developed a deep love and re꧑spect for the IP," Gearbox writes. "We are eager to prove ourselves as worthy custodians and ensuring a bright future for this genre-leading franchise."

The sale of the IP has come as a surprise to many Risk of Rain fans given the series&♐apos; independent origins and history – the original game was made by Hopoo co-founders Duncan Drummond and Paul Morse back when they were college sophomores – but it's no wonder Gearbox was eager to secure ownership after the success of Risk of Rain 2.

On Steam alone, Risk of Rain 2 is already the 44th best-reviewed and 51st most-reviewed game according to the . The hit action roguelike has also seen great success on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. As Gearbox said in today's statement, the Survivors of the Void DLC is coming to consoles soon, and I know from experience on PC (and from 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:chattin𒉰g with Hopoo earlier this year) that it'll be worth the wait.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Replaying the best Borderlands games should be high on your to-do list in 2025. Even if 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 4 wasn't set to launch this September (which, thankfully, it is), Gearbox's beloved run n' gun series is known as one of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best shooter game franchises for a reason. Whether you're checking them out for the first time, hunting for some of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best co-op games to play with your buddies, or comparing notes as a seasoned v✃eteran who knows this universe like the back of your cel-shaded hand, this list of the best Borderlands games promises hours of FPS action.

If you're checking out Gearbox's games out following that bizarre film that came out last year (read more on that in our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands movie review if you want), I am delighted to report that the games are much, much better. But really, the only way to get a feel for one of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best FPS game series of all time is to play them yourself, whether you're opting for one of the mainline entries or a deliriously silly spin-off like Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Enough yapping, though. Let's get straight into the best Borderlands games to play ahead of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:new game releasing later this year!

Ranking the worst to best Borderlands games, starting with...

9. Borderlands Legends

Borderlands Legends screenshot showing top-down combat in the desert wasteland

Developer: Gearbox
Platform(s):
iOS
Release:
2012

You've probably never even heard of Borderlands Legends, but those who managed to avoid it should count themselves lucky. This mobile tie-in to the original Borderlands game isn't… terrible, but it's far from the kind of experience you'd normally expect to see from the series. Controlled from a top dow꧅n perspective, you'll look after all four of the original Vault Hunters at once in Legends, taking on missions from a Bounty Board to fight bandits and outlaws in Borderlands' best impression of X-COM.

Sadly, the RTS format isn't a great fit for Borderlands, as the series' sense of speed and chaos is lost via the genre's more strategic paradigms. The game's impressive graphics do a pretty good job of replicating Borderlands' iconic visuals for the small screen, while there's almost just as much loot to be 🍒found as that of the mainline title (albeit in a more simplified format). But, nevertheless, Legends is still the w🌸eakest entry in the series so far, even if that's essentially by default.

8. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

Developer: 2K Australia
Platform(s):
PC, PS3
Release: 2014

The only mainline title not to be developed by Gearbox directly, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel feels ꦯlike a somewhat inconsequential "filler" entry in the series, released primarily as a way to tide fans over until Borderlands 3. But more Handsome Jack is always a good thing, as far as I'm concernꦐed, and getting to explore the man behind the mask made for an interesting "fall from grace" story that wasn't afraid to get dark in charting the character's transformation into the villain we know and love today.

That being said, while there's fun to be had in exploring the new setting of Pandora's moon, Elpis, the Pre-Sequel's low gravity environments lend a floatiness to combat that takes the edge out of its shooting mechanics, and the less said about some of 2K Australia's in-game jokes, the better. More than anything, The Pre-Sequel feels like an expansion to Borderlands 2, rather than a full game. As we mentioned in our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel review, the game is perfectly en♔joyable, yet lacking a certain se💖nse of relevance and panache, especially when you consider the events that come to pass in Borderlands 3.

7. Borderlands

Developer: Gearbox
Platform(s):
PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch
Release:
2009

The original Borderlands will forever have a special place in fans' hearts, as the game that started everything all the way back in 2009. More than that, when you consider 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the history of how Borderlands came to be, and Gearbox's last-minute decision to switch to the series' now iconi🌞c art style, you'll be even more impressed with the game's achievements for its time.

With its scrappy nature and unique "FPS meets RPG" elevator pitch, Borderlands instantly captured our attention, and there's still something alluring about its off-kilter space western vibe. Sure, the story is threadbare at best (with a nearly unforgivable cop-out of an ending), and Gearbox's now famous formula for infinite guns is at its most rudimentary here. But all the most successful strands of the series' DNA made their debut in the original Borderlands, and for that, we're eternally grateful. You can read more about this classic in our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands review.

6. New Tales from the Borderlands

Developer: Gearbox
Platform(s):
PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Switch
Released: 2022

We never expected to see New Tales from the Borderlands. Following the collapse of Telltale Games, a sequel to the wonderful 2014 narrative adventure seemed unlikely, although develo🐲per Gearbox and publisher 2K Games were thankfully able to cut through the red tape and deliver a wonderfully weird adventure on the metropolis planet of Promethea.

Gearbox has iterated smartly on the core Telltale systems and has subsequently delivered an adventure that feels smart and is smartly paced. While our four-star 澳洲ꦬ幸运5开奖号码历史查询:New Tales from the Borderlands review pointed out that it doesn't quite reach the heights of its predecessor, it's still undoubtedly one of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best adventure games of 2022. It's something you should♔ jump on if you want a few laughs w💖ith some awesomely written characters.

5. Borderlands 3

Developer: Gearbox
Platform(s):
PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One
Release:
2019

Borderlands 3 improves upon almost every line of the signature franchise recipe but seems to forget about some of the most important ingredients in the process. The game is a bi🍒t of a poorly optimised mess, for starters, especially when playing on PC or in local split-screen. And, though Borderlands 2 was just about able to get away with its unique sense of internet humour in 2012, that same brand of juvenile comedy doesn't quite land as effectively seven years later, especially with two villains – The Calypso T🥀wins – nowhere near as memorable as Handsome Jack.

Still, when it comes to gameplay, this is the best Borderlands has ever been, and our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 3 review celebrates that fact. Shooting feels fast and furious, and every weapon manages to appear handcrafted despite the procedural generation working away be💟hind all those loot drops. Gearbox took the time 🍃to listen to its fans for this sequel, delivering on long requested features like separate loot instancing, talking protagonists, and level scaling for drop-in/drop-out co-op. It's just a shame that a few blemishes hold Borderlands 3 back from being truly exceptional.

4. Tales from the Borderlands

Developer: Telltale Games
Platform(s):
PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch
Release:
2014

While Tales from the Borderlands is far from your typical Borderlands experience, it does more than any other entry in the franchise to flesh out the world of Pandora and make you care (like, really care) about its inhabitants. Telltale's point-and-click a♉dventure spinoff is an earnest and hilarious wild goose chase of a story, chronicling the escapades of four unconventional Vault Hunters in the wake of Borderlands 2's dramatic climax.

Telltale's smart writing and lo-fi visuals prove to be a perfect fit for the Borderlands universe, yet the studio leaves its mark on the series while still remaining faithful to Gearbox's original vision. It's not just the funniest Borderlands game in the series so far. It's one of the funniest games you'll ever play. Despite a few technical hiccups here and there, Taleඣs absolutely deserves to be among the top picks on our list of the best Borderlands games to date.

3. Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep screenshot showing a brunette woman shooting a gun at a large red dragon.

Developer: Gearbox
Platform(s):
PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One
Release:
2021

Originally the fourth slice of camp🌠aign DLC for Borderlands 2 - released on June 25, 2013 - Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep was given a standalone version alongside the arrival of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. To give it its full name, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure does not require Borderlands 2 to play, and while essentially the same game, it does include a smattering of extra new features.

Set after Borderlands 2, Tina and the first group of Vault Hunters decide to play a game of Bun▨kers and Badasses, Pandora's take on Dungeons and Dragons. Tina herself dons the role of dungeon master (Bunker Master, in this instance) and changes the makeup of the world as the story unfolds. As fun as it is zany, the standalone version of Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is almost as good as Borderlands gets.

2. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands screenshot showing two characters - one shooting a gun like weapon off-camera, and another casting an orange spell

Developer: Gearbox
Platform(s):
PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One
Release:
2021

As we mentioned in our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Tiny Tina's Wonderlands review, this game is an evolution of the series' Assault o🧜n Dragon Keep in just about every way. While shooting just about everything that moves in a frantic manner, Will Arnett and Andy Samberg offer their voices in what are some of the silliest and most humorous dialogue you'll find in a video game.

At one point, the cast of Wonderlands - which also includes Ashly 'Aloy' Burch as Tina and comedian Wanda Sykes as a♕ robot called Frette - 'kill the ocean', explaining why the sharks are walking. It really is a great cast that effortlessly pulls off a completely absurd premise, which is that this is a game of Dungeons and Dragons being played inside Borderlands. What's not to like?

1. Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 art showing four characters standing with their backs to the viewer, looking out at a snowy mountain and a derailed train, visibly on fire.

Developer: Gearbox
Platform(s):
PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch
Release:
2012

Love it or hate it, you can't deny that Borderlaꦍnds 2 marked an important turning point for the franchise, one where Gearbox whittled away at the contours of its sleeper hit to land on something wholly self-assured in its own identity. The resulting product spawned an entire fanbase of franchise fai🦹thfuls.

Ev🔯en with its polarising tone, Borderlands 2 still exemplifies the best of Borderlands and is largely responsible for why the series is so beloved today. Gorgeously rendered locales, compelling class combat, and a genuinely interesting story with an all-time classic antagonist in the form of Handsome Jack, this is a Vault Hunt that's still being played by thousa꧑nds of people today, and for good reason.

Sure, parts of Borderlands 2 have dated in all the worst kinds of ways, but this is still an exceptional adventure for its time and one that continues to be the touchstone for the series at large and deserves recognition as one of the best Borderlands games of all time. For more information on our top pick, read our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Borderlands 2 review.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> New Tales from th🍌e Borderlands has allowed Gearbox to explore a different kind of story that expands on the Borderlands universe. By introducing us to a fresh cast of protagonists in Anu, Octavio, and Fran, the adventure lets us see what civilian life is like in a setting that's no stranger to bullet-torn chaos. In doing so, New Tales from▨ the Borderlands echoes its lineage while positioning itself as a spiritual successor to 2014's Tales from the Borderlands. Gearbox in turn sees this as an opportunity to leave its mark on choice-driven interactive narrative gameplay – maintaining the levity and razor-sharp humor the wider series is now renowned for.

"In terms of story structure, it was important to us to structure it sort of liꦉke an interactive sitcom, like a game that focused on comedy; which I really rarely see these days," says lead writer Doug Lieblich. "And also we wanted to ensure that every choice felt important, and it wasn't just a player pressing a button because they had to. We ♕wanted the player to feel like, oh, the game respects me. And I'm here for it. We also, just as people who love games and love this genre, wanted to take risks with how we do things, subvert expectations of what you might see in an interactive narrative."

New tales

New Tales from the Borderlands

To bring New Tales from the Borderlands to life, Gearbox assembled a writing team with talent boasting a broad range of areas of expert𝄹ise. Head of writing Lin Joyce, for example, has a PhD in narrative system design, and joined Gearbox in 2020 just as the studio was hiring staff to work on the project. Joyce was soon joined by lead writer Lieblich – who wrote jokes for David Letterman once upon a time, and who also came with experience working in animation, on the sketch variety TV show, Night of Too Many Stars, and in game development with Telltale Games (on The Walking Dead and Minecraft: Story Mode) and Ghost Story games.

"Doug and I collaborated together, with the two of u💧s crafting what would become the outline for New Tales," Joyce says, speaking of the beginning of development. "We worked with the other developers and kind of came to 'this is the story that we want to ⭕tell'. And beyond that, we were lucky to bring on other great writers with game industry experience, and also other writers with backgrounds in film and television. We ended up with a pretty fantastic writers room for the duration of writing out the episodic script for New Tales. I think each writer really brought something additive to the storytelling experience that we wanted to craft."

Joyce used the script a♈s a design document to determine ⛄narrative structure, how it conveys the story, how much interactivity it affords, how many branches it will have, and how to seed in conditional choices and call back on those choices to make a player's history "come alive". Joyce also had to ensure the script could work for performance capture, which the team had committed to early on in development. The pandemic presented some "curveballs" which did inform their approach, but as Joyce was championing narrative and structure, Lieblich came on board to champion the story.

"What I've always loved about Borderlands, even from the first one, was its tone. I love this sort of sardonic sci-fi tone, I found it incredibly original, and refreshing. And I love that we could carry that tone into our game," Liꦜeblich says. "And also, not necessarily revolve around violence and killing. In fact, it was like a commentary on that. So we could be funny without, like, mass killing. I also liked the Borderlands universe because it's kind of a cautionary tale to our own society of like, what happens if you privatize literally everything and everyone's out for themselves, and there's no sense of community. And I think we play off of that in interesting ways. It's an endlessly interesting setting to explore."

New Tales from the Borderlands

The team was afforded a lot of freedom when it came to the direction of the story, but there were still certain guiding parameters they wanted to honor. The first was ensuring that this was a story that would be best suited to an interactive narrative game – one that couldn't be told by a ๊Borderlands looter shooter title. "It was also to expand the universe or the understanding of the universe through characters that we normally wouldn't get a chance to spend as much time with," says Joyce. "So our three protagonists are not Vault Hunters, they don't consider themselves to be Vault Hunters. So it is being able to look at what civilian life is like in this universe, and how anyone is able to kind of get through a day with all those bullets flying around."

With an expanded universe that's ripe for storytelling, the team landed on the idea of setting New Tales from Borderlands in a location from past titles in the series that they themselves wanted to spend more time in. A rather unfortunate event in Borderlands 3 inspired them to bring the story to the planet of Promethea and take a closer look at Fran, who's Frogurt shop was unceremoniously blasted by a Maliwan laser. "In Borderlands 3, we only experienced that moment through Rhys because it's his favorite Frogurt store," Joyce says. "You're just like but what about ♛Fran? Like what abo♚ut the person that owned that? So that gave us a wild hair to kind of play with and bring it down to a very specific civilian level story."

Choices matter

New Tales from the borderlands

"It was impoꩲrtant to both of us from the jump that this story stands on its own two fe♓et"

Doug Lieblich, lead writer

Tales from the Borderlands has earned a lot of love from players and has become somewhat of a cult classic since it first released back in 2014. It's not surprising, then, that there's already a lot of excitement surrounding the prospect of a new adventure that follows in the same spirit. It's clear from speaking to Joyce and Lieblich that they admire everything that's come before, and are all too aware of players' expectations. But with New Tales from the Borderlands, Gearbox is trying to deliver a fresh iteration that carves a path of its own. While there will be homages to the original Tales from the Borderlands, and the wider series, the writers knew from the beginning that they wanted to create a story that anyone could enjoy, regardless of your knowledge of the series ওor Tales.

"It was important to both of us from the jump that this stor﷽y stands on its own two feet," Lieblich says, "that it was agnostic to the Borderlands universe in a sense. Like, you didn't have to play the Borderlands game to appreciate this game, you didn't even have to play Tales from the Borderlands to appreciate this game. We want anyone to be able to step in, and appreciate a good story, beginning to end, with no prior knowledge."

"For example, I have friends who are not gamers, and I will force them to play this game," Lieblich laughs. "And I want them to enjoy it because anyone can enjoy a good story. You may not know what it's lik𒈔e to flee an intergalactic Corporation, but you know the [feeling of] anger of watching your business get blown up, the joy of seeing a friend or a sibling. So that's what we wanted to highlight in this game. Now that being said, we also took great pains to create homages and references to the original to reward fans who were familiar with the game with both Borderlands and Tales from the Borderlands."

New Tales from the Borderlands

"There areꦆ certain elements of Tales from the Borderlands that fans will expect. And many of those we honored, and others we iterated," Joyce adds. "But Doug and I also had a lot of conversations - and this was with design, as well - lookin🅰g at Tales and saying, what is the opportunity here? This game was [released] nigh on a decade ago, what's changed? How can we do things differently? So you'll see things like we did not feel the need to always provide a silent option. We provide silence where it makes sense, where silence is a logical response to something, whether that's a 'I'm not going to dignify that with an answer' silence, or 'I have no idea how to communicate with you' silence. So, the silence makes sense in those moments."

Certain changes they made are all part of Gearbox's effort to make choices feel like they matter in New Tales from the Borderlands. As the team approached the story, they knew they wanted to make every dialogue choice feel like it could affect your journey in some way, with different story branches and endings to discover. "Some of the fundamentals of interactive narrative, I learned at Telltale," Lieblich says. "There's one phrase that always stuck with me, which was: 'Imagine your dialogue choices are like bullets coming out of a gun'. So you want to feel [the dialogue] leave your mouth, and you want to feel it hitting the other person in♌ the face. We wanted to make sure each choice felt like a commitment, that the player was committing to a particular point of view and was risking something."

"We also wanted to make sure that each choice was emotionally charged, that it wasn't purely logical or diplomatic," Lieblich continues. "And then we wanted to ensure that once you delivered that choice, you felt t☂he impact as if you had said something vulnerable, or you said something cutting, and then how would that affect them; even if it wasn't a life or death decision, but it still felt like it had a meaning."

Ultimately, Gearbox wants you to enjoy the journey and experiment with the choices you make when New Tales from the Borderlands lands on October 21, 2022. "Just have fun, dive deep, and experiment with the game," Joyce says to prospective players. "There are branches or additive story elements in🅷 surprising places, and I would say we played a lot with choice and when to make one and when not to. So at that level, I think we are also telling a story in some surprising ways with design and sort of subverting expectations. Hopefully it gets people talking and you'll hear about things you didn't see in your playthrough and then you'll want to go 🌳find those things right. So enjoy the journey."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ in Gearbox ]]> Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford is selling his, erm, 🦄"fun and unique" shirts for a good cause.

Gearbox shared news of on its official Twitter account, with a link to almost 50 of Pitchford's own personal shirts, which you can bid on now through September 9. The online auction lists each shirt's approximate value at $400, but you can bid whatever you want since this is a blind auction, meanin♓g no one can see each other's bids to determine their own.

"Gearbox fans may have noticed the lou✨d shirts worn by our head honcho over the years," reads the studio's tweet announcing the charity auction. "Now these shirts can be yours! Randy is auctioning off dozens of garments with all proceeds funding a developer scholarship."

Personally, there isn't a game studio on Earth whose CEO I admire so much that I want to wear one of their shirts, especially when the designs are... so very loud. In all fairness though, it's hard to knock a thing when its proceeds are going to charity. Although, in this case it's unclear exactly which charity will b🐎enefit from the proceeds; the announcement just says "a developer scholarship." Curiously, the official website changes that language to a plural "scholarships."

Could be beneficiaries of the auction? Sc🔯anning the and sections of the auction reveals nothing about the specific charity or charities involved, so that one's up in the air a💛t the moment.

Either w🌠ay, you have exactly a week to buy one of Pitchford's, let's just say it, plug-ugly shirts and have your money go to charity.

Be sure to check out our hands-off preview of New Tales from the Borderlands, Gearbox's spiritual successor to Tales from the Borderlands.
