After a while though, it all clicks, especially after remapping some of t𝓀he buttons on your mouse controller for easy sliding and jumping. You can of course plug a mouse into your PS5 or Xbox, or use all manner of configurations on PC, but there’s something about the Switch 2’s Joy-Con and mouse setup that feels right.

There is a problem with using your Switch 2’s controllers this way, however. It comes down to a grip I have with the Switch 2’s position as a console, in that you’ll need to be sat at a desk to make the best u♎se of the mouse mode. Currently, I have an awkward setup involving a laptop hard case balanced on top of a small wooden footstool so I can play on my sofa. It's not the most perfect rendition of a modern controller. For some reason, activating overdrive in Fortnite Festival requires reaching for the d-pad, which is pretty far away from the strum bar. On multiple occasions, I've messed up a perfect combo while trying to activate overdrive, so it's a shame this wasn't mapped to the whammy bar instead. Sure, you can just not use it in-game, but nearly every set of daily tasks in Fortnite, which includes unlocking content on the Music Pass, requires activating overdrive mode, so you'll miss out on a fair bit if you don't.

Alternatively, well-known controller brand CRKD is♚ also releasing its own modern guitar contrꦗoller, with the Gibson Les Paul set to ship next 🎶month. If you'd prefer a setup based on an official💧 and iconic electric guitar, it's always an option. However, CRKD hasn't yet announced a PS5-compatible model, so if you play Fortnite on the Sony console only, the current $50 off saving is still worth it. I'm assuming this because it comes with two minifigs of its own - Island Adventure Peely and King Oro in golden form - that are the perfect size for being swallowed whole by your new bestie. Klombo itself seems happy at the prospect thanks to its big, toothy grin and go🎐ogly eyes.

It isn't just a hunk o𝔍f plastic, either. The 1,084-piece model has a rotating tail to go with moving legs and mouth. This, along with the monster's fan-favorite status, makes me think Lego Klombo may become one of the more popular sets in the range amongst collectors. It's perfect for displaying on a shelf.

Lego Durrr Burger Restaurant

As one of the most memorable locations in the video game, it's not surprising that a full Durrr Burger Restaurant is on the way. This certainly seems like a bang-up establishment for your assorted Fortnite minifigures to hang out in, ꦑand it's a perfect addition to a collector's display or for kids who'd like something for their figs to battle over. While the Riffmaster wears its inspirations on its sleeve, its differences are definitely for the better. The buttons are still nice to press, but no longer do they come with the loud, overbea🐟ring clicky sound the original gamepad was notorious for - at least, according to my mom at 🎶the time.

The fret-board of the controller is also collapsible, so it's a lot easier to tidy away amongst﷽ your other PS5 accessories than what I was used to 20 years ago. More importantly, the buttons and the strum bar feel nice and tactile, and in my ridiculous amount of hours spent playing the brand-new Sabrina Carpenter tracks in Fortnite, there was never any lag or miss-presses.

The whammy bar also feels fun to trigger, just like it does on𓂃 a real guitar, and the free accompa🔴nying guitar strap means it's far easier to lift the Riffmaster up and play at a height more comfortable for my old-gaming pensioner wrists.

The only real issue I've come across when trying to level up through the Fortnite Festival Music Pass is triggering overdrive. Tilting the neck of the controller is meant to get overdrive into gear, but I've never actually managed to get it working. Instead, clicking left on the d-pad, located on the bottom right of the guitar, or the PlayStation button does the job, which is not ideal.

Both of these buttons are pretty flush with the controller and hard to feel for. The last thing you want to do when reaching for a new high score on Chappell Roan's Hot To Go is to take your eyes away from your TV to hunt for a button. There's been plenty of occasions where it's messed up my playing regardless of the difficulty, and it's a bit frustrating that a 20-year-old PS2 controller could get this right instead.

At least the existence of these PS5 buttons is a nice a🦩ddition to the modern gamepꦫad. In the olden days, you had to rely purely on the strum bar and the colored buttons to navigate your way through the Guitar Hero games' menus, which was extremely tedious.

Now you can use the buttons or the stick hidden behind the neck, the included d-pad, and the official PlayStation button instead. PDP even went through the trouble of including the capture and settings buttons of the DualSense controller, so you can even take a screenshot, should you want to.

Guitar Hero and Rockband both used songs that would make the most of this controller design, but Fortnite Festival's roster doesn't always feel like the best fit. There have been plenty of occasions where I was trying to play a𒆙long to Anamanaguchi's Miku, where the rhythm felt a little off. This will make it a bit harder to get 'into the groove' of things, so I highly recommend sticking to more guitar-heavy tracks when they appear in the Fortnite shop.

If you aren't quite sold on the PDP Riffmaster, then you'll be happy to know Turtle Beach's PDP brand isn't the only one catering to Fortnite Festival (and Clone Hero) fans. In a published yesterday, Epic confirms that as of April, first-time cheaters🅺 will get off slightly lighter than before, with one-year bans in place that'll only be extended to lifetime bans if they cheat a second time. "While maintaining game integrity is our top priority, we also believe in allowing second chances for players who made a bad decisio𒀰n and have learned from it," Epic explains.

What's funny is that anyone hit with one of these year-long bans will still maintain a tiny bit of game functionality, but I can't really imagine anyone wanting to use it. "For the duration of their first ban, players will be able to log in and text/voice chat with other players, but won't be able to matchmake into Epic- or creator-made experiences, or spectate other players," the post states. According to from Fortnite leaker Loolo, you will soon be able to buy Reboot Cards in Fortnite, and this was accompanied by a video of a player interacting with a Reboot Van. Alongside the usual option of spending a collected Reboot Card to reboot squad members, this shows a second option to 'buy dropped Reboot Cards' in exchange for Gold Bars, which can then be used immediately to bring back an eliminated teammate.

At this point it isn't know when this feature will be added to the game, bu🏅t a from Loolo confirms that it was made available in competitive mode by mistake, meaning it's already set up in the code and presumably could be activated at any point. When you get close to your gigantic foe a health bar for Godzilla will appear, along with another bar tracking how your Damage Inflicted compares to the current #1 player. The player who deals the most damage to Godzilla will receive the Godzilla Medallion when it is defeated – providing a recharging dash ability with up to three charges in reserve – plus the exotic Burst Quaꩵd Launcher.

Unlike all of the named POIs on the island that are fixed in place, the Fortnite Shogun's Arena location varies from match to match and you can't predict in advance where it will be. You also can't head there straight away, as you need to wait until around the fourth Storm circle starting to close in for Shogun's Arena to emerge from a rift above the island. Around this time a red marker will appear in the sky to indicate where the rift is appearing, and once it spawns you can see Shogun's Arena on your map as as a cluster of red islands along with an ico🥀n for the boss Shogun X. Head to that 🎃area, then use one of the Air Sprites on the ground below to launch yourself up to the floating islands.

How to eliminate players at Shogun's Arena in Fortnite

Once you've arrived on the floating island, you then need someone to fight. Unlike a previous challenge to damage opponents at this location that could be completed by attacking the Shogun X boss, you need to eliminate two players at Shogun's Arena for this quest. To do this, you should try and get to the floating island as soon as possible, then stick to the edges to avoid Shogun X attacking you while watching for incoming players to take out. As for the jobs, it sounds like they'll enable you to interact with your environment in different ways, and the options are pretty funny as they range from the self-explanatory sushi chef to "scoundrel," whose purpose is to "prank fellow city-goers." Someone's gotta do it, right? However, being a "social roleplay" mode, oꩲbviously the point is largely to hang out with others, and to enable that, there'll be a text chat, so I imagine you can expꦏect to get called out for any pranks you do play.

The city itself also sounds pretty massive, as Epic has revealed that it's home to a beach, gym, cafe, burger shop, a magic school (complete with potion classes) and more, with new𒀰 locales set to be added over time. In fact, the first new additio𒊎n is only a few days away – there'll be a "grand opening" party for the Rooftop Club on December 18.

It really does feel like Epic is adding something for everyone in Chapter 6, whether you're a hardcore competitive player or someone who prefers to take it easy in a more casual mode. Epic Games has just unveiled Fortnite Ballistic, a 5v5 competitive mode played entirely in first-person for the first time in the battle royale's seven year history, dropping in an &apos🌺;early access' state on December 11. In this case, early access just means that Ballistic will have one map at launch and a more limited set of weapons and items to play with, though as expected, the developers plan to "make adjustments based on player feedback and add new maps, weapons, and features" o𝓀ver time.

The rest of the mode seems to be modelled after Counter Strike's classic Terrorists vs. Counter-Terrorists push-and-pull, although ꧒this time the two sides are simply called attackers and defenders - probably to fend off controversy from the parents of the 7-year-olds who play Fortnite - and instead of planting a bomb, attackers are fighting to set up something called a Rift Point Device. You can plant the, err, device at one of two locations, and a round finishes when it either explodes or when a team gets fully wiped since there aren't any respawns here. After six rounds, the two teams will switch sides. And whoever wins seven rounds first is crowned the overall victor. 

Despite launc൲hing in an early access state, Fortnite Ballistic will still offer both Ranked and Unranked modes for those who don't want to get too sweaty. "Unranked play offers a more casual Ballistic experience and has backfill for players who drop from matches," a press release explains. "Ranked play is for those who want to test their talents against other players in a more competitive environment – the winning team gains rank and the☂ losing team loses rank." Fortnite’s permanent OG mode will preserve “some of the rough edges” from the classic battle royale era, but certain quality-of-life improvements have also made the cut.

While it won't be exactly like you've entered a time machine to go right back to the start, it sounds like the devs have tried to strike a balance between old and improved: "Some of the rough edges from that era have been preserved, while others have been polished," is how the developer puts it. Reboot Vans will be available from the start so you can revive your teammates, and sniper scopes will give off that signature gl𝓀are so you'll know if someone's lining up a headshot from a distant rooftop. On the more classic side of things, Double Pump is back for shotgun enthusiasts ("for now," Epic adds), maximum building resources have been set at 999, and beyond that, "Great care has been taken to ensure that every tree, Chest, car, and ob𓆏ject is right where you remember it."

Personally, I'm very intrigued to see how popular the OG mode is going to be compared to the ongoing new seasons – its temporary comeback last ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚyear was huge for the battle royale, after all. Its own separate Battl♍e Pass will also become available tomorrow, and it'll include 45 different rewards.

Clearly, though, developer Epic Games is aware of the complaints because it's now made a few alterations. One of the main issues was with the merge of Daily Quests into one tab – while you could previously complete a few dailies in different modes for loads of bonus XP, Chapter 6 changed this so that the first three completed in any mode would give you 60K bonus XP total – far less than what wasཧ previously available. This has now been buffed slightly, with reporting that the first three dailies now award 25K bonus XP each for a total of 75K a day. That's, uh, not that much more, especially when you consider how much we could get from the dailies previously. 

Slightly more significant is the alteration to the cap for weekly playtime XP (earned simply by spending time in the game) for certain modes. Epic says the cap has been increased across "Save The World, Lego Fortnite, Reload, and Creative experiences." that this ཧincludes the upcoming OG mode, and says that for it, ꦐLego, and Reload, there's now a combined weekly cap of four million playtime XP. This is a massive increase for Lego and Reload, which were apparently previously capped at 1,104,000 and 1,710,000 XP a week, respectively.

While it's definitely an improvement overall, the general sentiment is that more needs to be done. "This is nothing. There's still a weekly cap. Still atrocious," on Reddit. "It still isn't enough," . "They seriously need to bring back playtime XP for [Battle Royale] and just never touch it again. It felt gre🍬at overall," .

Whether Epic will listen and make any further changes remains to be seen, but with all of its differ🥀ent Battle Pass rewards now tied to XP gain rather than individual currencies for each mode, earning those levels is more important than ever.

Namely, it's not taken long at all for battle royale fans to notice that there's a distinct lack of XP available in the game right now. Aside from the flurry of new 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Fortnite quests to bring in the new♌ season, big changes have been made toಌ ways players can earn XP, making leveling up seem way slower.

As , Milestone quests for Battle Royale – which previously granted generous amounts of XP throughout each season for tasks you'd generally complete💞 over time, like driving distance in vehicles and eliminating opponents – have been removed entirely. The closest equivalent, it seems, are the new Weapon Expertise quests, which task you with slowly racking up damage on opponents using different weapon types. These are very slow going, to the point that one player suggests that "they either gotta bring back milestones or like, halve the requirements for the challenges."

Elsewhere, where there used to be daily quests for different modes like Battle Royale, Reload, and Rocket Racing, there's now just one merged tab for them all. Previously, you could earn loads of extra XP for the first few daily quests you completed in each mode, but now, this merged quest tab can be progressed in any mode except Save The World, and only for a total of 60K bonu🃏s XP, significantly reducing the total amount. 

Perhaps the biggest changes come in the form of playtime XP, though. Fortnite news account @Guille_GAG on Twitter reports that while Fortnite Reload's daily playtime XP has stayed the same from last season (letting you earn up to 600K each day just by spending time in the mode), others have changed. Notably, 💜you won't get any XP at all for simply hanging out in Battle Royale, which is a huge loss for the game's main mode. 

At the very least, it sounds like some of these changes might not be intentional – it appeared that Save the World's XP cap had been changed to 727K weekly rather than daily, but the that players are currently earning "less XP than intended" in the mode, and the devs are working on a fix. Similarly, XP has been after the developers "detect🤪ed an issue with how the XP was granted."

For now though, the sweeping changes a🌃ren't exactly popular with anyone. "This game is becoming a chore man," . "Before the changes I'd play Fortnite for an hour or two every day cycling through game m🎶odes. Now I play one drop[,] maybe two drops max in BR and get my dailies and there's nothing left to do," . 

Hopefully as the season goes on, we'll gain more way🍰s to level up efficiently. Afಌter all, those new Battle Pass rewards are too cool to miss out on.

Fortnite OG: When is it coming back?

Very cool Battle Pass skins aside, the trailers have given us our first proper look at the map, which looks genuinely gorgeous. As well as a bustling city, there's a snowy, mountainous area, loads of pretty temples, cherry blossom꧋ trees aplenty, and most importantly that giant, moving turtle, who you can seemingly climb on top of and hide amongst the trees growing on its back (Pokemon's Torterra would be proud). Godzilla, who was first teased in the Chapter 6 key art a few days ago, also makes an appearance, and although we don't see any gameplay of him, it looks like he might be a roaming threat on the map. 

Beyond that, the gameplay trailer shows off some upcoming weapons, and sword💖 enjoyers rejoice – blades are back in the game. We also see a player put on a mask (which I'm guessing can be won through a boss battle shown slightly earlier in the trailer) before blasting their opponents with fireballs, so be careful not to get singe🌸d when you dive into the action. 

Perhaps most notably though, throughout the gameplay trailer, we get a glimpse of some new movement mechanics, with a demonstration of an enormous jump into a roll that seems to avoid fall damage, as well as a wall jump. It's not entirely clear right now if these will be general additions to game just like jumping, mantling, and sliding, or if they'll be tied to specific items, weapons, or things like ꦚmedallions, but either way it looks like there'll be new ways to get around the map and outmanoeuvre your opponents in a few days. 

Fortnite Chapter 6: Season 1 is set to kick off on December 1, which is this Sunday - I'm personally very excited for everything that's been shown of it so far. CRKD has just announced the NEO S Purple Wave controller, a Fortnite Festival-compatible device that works across PC, Switch, and mobile devices. If you take a regular gameꦕpad, make it boxy, and wrap the old Guitar Grip around the outside, you've got a pretty good idea of what to expect. It's not quite the authentic Guitar Hero DS experience - it doesn't look like the external buttons will just wrap around your Switch or phone - but it offers such a similar way to play that all the old-school Guitar Hero fans are making the same comparisons.

"While CRKD is not Red Octane, the majority of the hardware team remains as the core product development team at CRKD," the company says in a , "with a community focus on bringing premium, innovative, collectible gaming gear to fans around the world." Red Octane is, of course, the hardware company responsible for the original Guitar Hero controllers, though they only consulted 🥂on the Guitar Grip device back in the day.

Either way, the Red Octane spirit certainly seems to be alive at CRKD. On top of Fortnite Festival, the NEO S controller i𝄹s also compatible with community-made Guitar Hero tributes like Clone Hero and YARG, and CRKD has already given some prominent community contributors an early look at the device. Judging by shown so far, this is going to be a very effective rhythm gaming device.

Perhaps most excitingly, CRKD says that the NEO S is just the start of "a 🍌small portfolio of rhythm gaming products" set to launch over the "next six months." This already has the rhythm gaming faithful hopeful that CRKD is going to launch a fresh line of proper guitar controllers in the claꦏssic Guitar Hero style.

PDP, the company that made the later iterations of the Rock Band controllers, launched its own guitar peripheral earlier this year in the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:PDP Riffmaster, but it's naturally in the Rock Band style - meaning it has the same mushy strum bar that annoyed a certain set of rhythm game fans (like me) back in the day. What's included in Fortnite OG Season 3?

Unlike the big changes last season that saw the return of Tilted Towers and more, there isn't such a significant update to the map in Fortnite OG Season 3, though the Asian-themed Lucky Landing has reappeared to the south🎃 of Fatal Fields. The large meteor in the sky will also be making a comeback, and as the OG season progresses we'll start to see meteorite fragments 💟crashing down onto the island.

There will also be a new Fortnite OG Season 3 Pass available, with 45 tiers of retro rewards to unlock including three outfits. If you want to get more than a few freebies though you'l✱𒁏l need to buy the OG Pass, which either costs 1,000 V-Bucks ($8.99 / £6.99) as a one-off purchase or is included as part of the Fortnite Crew subscription for an ongoing $11.99 / £8.99 payment every month. The three outfits this season are:

• Power Punk (unlocked when purchasing the OG Pass)
• Mecha R3X
• Sir Raven

Fortnite OG Season 3 will also see some more classic gear returning to the loot pool, with new items being added at regular intervals. The Guided Missile, Hand Cannon, and Hunting Rifle are all available from the start of the season, with other items including the Clinger grenade shown in the 🐻teaser arriving at a later date. Finally, the 50v50 LTM is returning to the game as OG 50v50, where two teams of 50 players face off in the ultimate large-scale clash for victory. This was the first ever Limited Time Mode to be added to the battle royale way back in 2017, and you can play it from now until April 14, 2025.

Remember, you can claim OG rewards by earning XP across any of the available experiences, so get working towards those new goals from now until the end of Fortnite OG Season 3 on June 8, 2025!

As explained in a , the new pass – officially called the 'Fortnite OG Pass' – is set to be released in the future, and while no details have been given yet, it sounds like it'll tie in with the return of Fortnite OG's permanent return next month. What's more, access to the OG Pass, alongside the regular battle royale Battle Pass, Music Pass, and Lego Pass, will all be offered♊ as part of the $12/£10 monthly Fortnite Crew subscription very soon – with the latter three passes available as benefits from December 1. 

This is a massive upgrade for Fortnite Crew♛, which up to this point, has offer💯ed subscribers a special Crew skin every month and the main Fortnite battle pass, amongst other things. It's not changing in price, so that's potentially way more rewards for the same amount of money, but there's a twist that might make that deal a bit less sweet for some. 

Epic Games explains that from December 1, if new subscribers unlock the battle passes through Crew, to keep unlocking premium rewards from them for the full seasons, they have to stay subscribed. For example, if you only subscribed to Crew for the first mo﷽nth of a battle royale season, you'd only be able to unlock Battle Pass rewards for that month while your subscription is active, rather than being able to keep progressing until the pass itself expires like you currently can.

You won't lose any rewards you've already unlocked if you don't stay subscribed, but it means that those who don't grab everything quickly might end up ꧟paying out more than they do currently in real money to make sure they get everything. Personally, I've subscribed for the occasional month here and there to grab the latest🐷 Battle Pass and pick up a new skin for £10, but the new deal isn't going to be as enticing in that regard since I tend to unlock rewards gradually over the course of the entire season, and I wouldn't fancy the grind to get them all in the first four weeks. 

However, a lot more rewards are now on offer, so for those who want them aไll, this may be a worthy compromise when you consider how many V-Bucks it'll save. In addition, for those who stay subscribed to Crew from before December 1, this change won't affect the regular battle royale Battle Pass unless you unsubscribe and then resubscribe later down the line (so the first time you unsubscribe, you'll still keep access to your current Battle Pass for that season). Alternatively, you can continue to buy the passes separately with V-Bucks for season-long access.

Otherwise, it's also worth noting that the standard Battle Pass is also increasing in price slightly, from 950 💜V-Bucks to 1,000. Historically, however, players have always been able to earn back more than that with each pass as long as they level up enough, so this probably won't be too detrimental to most. 

There are some big changes all around, but on the whole, theꦯy seem to be mostly positive.
