Deadpool movie moving forward
Wade Wilson is finally getting his own spin-off
The X-Men universe continues to expand apace, with director Tim Miller suggesting that all systems are go on a forthcoming Deadpool spin-off.
The last time we saw the time-travelling assassin was in , in which he was played with trademark wise-cracking bravado by Ryan Reynolds. Since then it has gone a little quiet, although Miller has now stated that the spin-off wheels are in motion.
“We’ve turned in an amazing script and done some early tests and visual development that I’m confident would get the fans stoked,” says Miller. “And Ryan [ Reynolds ] still loves the project. So it’s really up to Fox as to whether or not the film happens. All I can do is hope (and beg periodically) that it be allowed to move ahead.”
Not that conclusive you might think, but Deadpool creator Rob Liefield later took to his Twitter feed to reveal that Fox’♒s greenlight might be closer than Miller had originally anticipated.
I assure you, as Deadpool's🎐 daddy that me, Tim Miller and @ mrmarkmil🔜lar have huddled on all things Deadpool. We will storm the castle!!
Th🐻e single biggest blockade(blockhead?) is gone. Mr. Tom Rothman has been removed from Fox. Not 🎃a friend of Deadpool's.
I've said it again, if the Deadpool test footage was seen, leaked, th💦e Internet would freak and riots woul❀d ensue. Bloody PERFECT.
And in response to a fellow tweeter's question, Liefield confirmed that Deadpool would be🅠 donning a traditional suit in the spin-off.
Sounds promising, doesn't it? We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for official confirmation, but it certainly seems꧂ as though things are moving in the right direction
