In an interview with , Smulders was asked about the possibility of appearing in the show, considering that she has a major role in a long-running sitcom.
“The commitments to [How I Met Your Mother] don’t affect it," Smulders responded. "And I can’t really say but there are definite talks about it."

Smulders went on to add that she intends to stay in the MCU for as long as possible, “Oh yeah! I’m very excited. I will do Maria🍸 Hill until they fire me and hire someone else to do it.”
