The Killer Elite has been picked up for US distribution by newly-minted Open Road, who are staking their worth on the action thriller, which stars Jason Statham, Robert DeNiro and Clive Owen.

Seems like a pretty safe bet to us.

The Killer Elite follows𒊎 Statham's highly-trained special-ops soldier as he comes out of self-imposed exile to help rescue his former mentor, played by DeNiro.

To succeed he has to infiltrate the British Special Ai𓄧r Service -- facing off against a covert group 💖of ex-SAS soldiers known as "The Feather Men," (stifled laughter) led by Clive Owen.

The film takes place in 𓆉Australia, Paris, Wales, London, Dubai and Oman and is inspired by true events, used by Ranulph Fiennes in his novel "The Feather Men."
