Call of Duty dev says it went 'too far' with graphic violence
Legitimate concern or pre-release hype?
Treyarch, the studio behind Call 🗹of Duty: Black Ops, has managed to both pat itself on the back andapologize to sensitive gamers by saying thatits technologyis too good at depicting violenceand may have needed to be toned down (or was toned down, it's unclear).
In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, Dominique Drozdz, the game's animation director, said, "There💎 were situations going too far. It was a contextual kill where you were twisting the neck. It was too much. The throat cutting [is] nasty, but that was worse."
Above: If you're gonna play this game, will you be worried that the violence is TOO realistic?
So now tha💃t violence in vide🤪o games has reached the point of uber realism, game developers, isn't there something else you could be making more realistic? Some other sort of virtual stimulus? Get my drift? Ahem...
