Call of Duty lawsuit between Activision and EA settled, West and Zampalla case heats up

One suit ov🍸er, the other has new allegations of shenanigans

We’re 🐈not sure how much you’ve been keeping up with it to date, but there was a big update today in the legal battle over Call of Duty. After some back and forth between industry giants Activision and E🐻A for more than a year, the two settled their legal dispute today. However, the bigger case between Activision and the former Infinity Ward bosses continues.

Here’s some quick background: In 2010 Jason West and Vince Zampella, the heads of CoD dev Infinity Ward, left the company and parted with Activision on unfriendly terms🃏 to put it lightly. After the two were fired, they soon began a new studio (Respawn) that then made a publishing deal with EA. West and Zampella sued Activision for unfair dismissal, then Activision countersued EA, alleging that EA tried to hire West and Zampella while still under contract with Activision.
