The new installment sees Zora (Scarlett Johಞansson), paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Bailey), and ship captain Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali) embark on a dangerous journey to the remote island outpost that was the site of the original Jurassic Park laജb post.

What they encounter, however, are dinosaurs that were too dangerous for the original park – and have been alon꧒e on the island all these years and are seriously mutated as a result. In the sci-fi movie, which was directed by James Cameron and released back in 1989, there's a scene where a rat is forcibly submerged in fluorocarbon liquid. A real rat was used in the movie's production and, while it's said to have survived, the scene has been banned fꦜrom cuts of the film shown in the UK since the '80s due to campaigning from animal rights charities like the RSPCA.

Due to the secrecy surrounding it, there's not all that much out there about the film just yet, but that hasn't stopped us from hunting down any detail we could find on the internet about the otherworldly thriller. Predator: Badlands release date

Predator: Badlands is due in UK and US theaters on November 7. It꧃'s set to be the second Predator movie to come out in 2025, following the release of Dan Trachtenberg and co-director Joshua Wassung's animated feature Predator: Killer of Killers in June.

Filming kicked off in New Zealand on August 27, 2024 and concluded in late October. Trachtenberg has previously stated that every single shot of the film features VFX work, which explains why its release date is over a year out from🅘 the wrapping of principal photography.

With a few month﷽s still to go until the movie is out, we've only seen a teaser trailer for Predator: Badlanඣds – though, predictably, it doesn't give all that much away. Described as more of a promise of "vibe" over plot or character details by Trachtenberg, the promo opens on what looks like a Predators' trophy room, complete with dinosaur, kaiju, and human skulls.

Next, we see a low-flying ship speed across a desert wasteland, as some text reads: "💃The director of Prey welcomes you to a world of hurt." We get glimpses of unusual plant life, various Yautja with different⭕ colored braids, and a blonde human-looking character whose eyes roll back into her head.

"You're hunting something that can't be killed," the woman tells a character off-camera, before we see a Predator ൩face-on, mask-off, gearing up to fight a huge, hairy🥃 beast. And well, that's it. Check it out above.

Predator: Badlands cast

As it stands, only two cast members have been confirmed for Predator: Badlands, and that's Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi and Elle Fanning. The former is set to play Dek, a young Yautja out🔥cast who's hellbent on proving himself to his clan, while the latter is on board as artificial human Thia♋.

We imagಌine that more actors will be announced later down the line, and the full trailer, which is sure to drop soon, will likely reveal other faces, too. We'll be sure to keep you posted!

Predator: Badlands plot

In previous P🦄redator films, the Yautja have been villainous figures who terrorize our (more) human heroes, but Predator: Badlands will shake things up by centering the titular creature as its protagoni⛎st.

While we haven't got specifics yet, we know that the movie w𓃲ill predominantly take place on Yautja Prime♒, the Predators' homeworld, which made its onscreen debut in Predator: Killer of Killers, and see lead character Dek align himself with a Weyland-Yutani bot named Thia after he's cast out from his tribe. Together, the twosome set out on a treacherous journey to take on the most fearsome enemy – and prove Dek as an ultimate hunter.

Given Thia's manufacturer (and a bliꦆnk-and-you'll-miss-it glimpse at what looks like a Xenomorph skull in the teaser), many have been speculating as to how much the film will crossover with the Alien franchise – a theory amplified by the fact that one specific trailer for upcoming series ൩Alien: Earth features a very Predator-sounding snarl.

When asked whether he'd seen any of the Hulu/Disney Plus show yet, Trachtenberg replied with a grin: "Mmm. What a question. I have seen some Alien: Earth and it's prꦜetty effing awesome what I've seen." Consider us suspicious...

What's next for the Predator franchise?

So, once Predator: Badlands comes out, what comes next? If things were up to Trachtenberg, another movie... though he'🌱s keeping coy on wh💖at that movie would look like exactly.

"After Prey came out, and I started thinking about sequel stuff, there were three ideas that I had. Killers is one, Badlands is two and the third one is... something else," the filmmaker 澳♚洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:tells SFX magazine in its latest issue.💧 "The reason why I felt possessed to make them and sort of why I🥀 rushed – I did two at once because I could do, I could multitask with animation – was because I was so eager to get to the third thing.

"Well, I mean, I want to work with Sam Jackson, just no matter what, in any circumstance. And I also love working in Star Wars," Howard explained. Just a few years back, this would've seemed unthinkable. While Revenge of the Sith has always been viewed as the best of the prequels, until not so long ago, that was a dubious honor. Where the fun begins

Naturally, being a Star Wars super fan (and a prequels kid) myself, I nabbed tickets for the re-release as soon as they went on sale. Revenge of the Sith is the first Star Wars movie I ever saw in the theater, taken along by my dad (something we repeated for the re-release), so I already had plenty of warm feelings for the film. But, what struck me as I watched it on the big screen again is just how damn good it is. As the credit🤪s rolled, I thought to myself, 'This really is George Lucas's masterpiece.'

The opening scene hurtles us straight into the action with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan⭕ Kenobi mounting a rescue attempt for Chancellor Palpatine in a dramatic space battle with VFX that looks brand new, not two decades old (General Grievous could have walked right out of a modern blockbuster). Then, it's back to Coruscant for a tale of sinister political intrigue, as the Jedi grapple🌜 with a corrupt politician seizing more and more power, unopposed in plain sight; a story that feels eerily prescient.

At the heart of it all is Anakin, plagued with visions of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Padmé Amidala dying, whose quest to save his wife leads him into the arms of the dark side in a poignant narrative of a hero succumbing to evil. The sequels have been divisive in their own way, too, spurring fierce debate within the fandom: particularly The Last Jedi, with its controversial depiction of Luke, and The Rise of Skywalker♔, with its much-criticized Palpatine resurrection. But if there's another thing the past few weeks have shown me, it's that their time will come.

Perhaps 10 years from now, The Force Awakens' re-release will stir up a similar storm; after all, the tweens who watched it in 2015 will be in their twenties by now. And, if the enthusiastic reaction to Daisy Ridley's appearance at 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Star Wars Celebration 2023 is anything to go by, peoꦿple long to see these characters return. Rey is getting her own movie, after all, though updates are scarce.

I have no doubt that soon enough the sequels will be as publicly, uncontroversially loved as the prequels. It's only a matter of time. As Anakin himself says early in Revenge of the Sith: patience.
