Because there's a seven-year age gap between me and my older brother, making everything he ever did cool as hell by default, I now have a career in video games that he's indirectly♓ responsible (at fault?) for. Everything he played, I also had to play.

But, unfortunately for my kid self, that meant having to timidly knoꦍck on his door and ask if I could play his N64 e🍌very time a new game came out – and almost 30 years later, I'm about to be forced into the same situation.

As revealed in today's Direct, Donkey Kong Bananza supp🎃orts local and online co-op and, via the Switch 2's GameShare feature, let𝄹s Switch 1 players to join the fun as Donkey Kong's companion Pauline with a Switch 2 player as their domineering host. The only caveat is that it only works locally with Switch 1, while two Switch 2 playe൲rs can link up online.

I'll get a Switch 2 eventually, probably whenever 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Metroid Prime 4 comes out, but come Donkey Kong Bananza's July 17 release date, ♌it looks like I'll be knocking on big bro Jon's door๊ yet again.

Hopefully I'll have my own console by the time these 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch 2 games launch.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> The 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Donkey Kong Bananza Nintendo Direct today confirmed the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:rumoured multiplayer mode for the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 title, and it s𝓀ure looks like something the 3D Mario team would cook up.

Nintendo has confirmed a bunch of new details for Donkey Kong Bananza, namely that the Odd Rock we've been seeing as Donkey Kong's companion 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:is actually none other than Pauline (which would be a big reveal had Nintendo not澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询: leaked it months ago). But alongside t🐼he identity of DK's new companion, we were told Pauline will be playable as a co-op partner who can sing to injure enemies – and this style of multiplayer reminds me of the 3D Mario games.

Nintendo has been playing coy about who is developing Donkey Kong Bananza, but everyone thinks it's the core 3D Mario team led by Yoshiaki Koizumi, given how much the game looks like 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:a sequel to Super Mario Odyssey. Bananza's 💮co-op mode feels like a calling card f🍸or the developer.

Since Super Mario Galaxy, the 3D Mario team has always had some form of co-op mode in its games. It's obviously more elaborate in the multiplayer-focused games like Super Mario 3D World, but for the single-player games, co-op usually includes one player actually playing t🦂he game while the other controls a character that can interact with the wor꧟ld in minor ways.

You had the star bit pointer in Galaxy, Cappy in Odyssey, and Bowser Jr. in Bowser's Fury, who can help deal with enemies. Aܫnd Pauline's mouse-controller singing blasts look very in-line with the 3D Mario co-op features. We're through the looking glass here, people.

Mario Kart World's first post-launch patch suggests we somehow weren't getting hit with enough items as it fixes an "an issue where items were no longer able to be used."

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> Nintendo has confirmed that we'll be getting a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Donkey Kong Bananza 𓂃Nintendo Direct later this week, on Wednesday, June 18 at 6am PT, 9am ET, and 2pm BST. This was confirmed by a post sent out to Nintendo Today app users (so me, and about five others).

Nintendo is very serious about the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Today app that we all clowned on when it was the big final reveal in a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Direct this year. Last week the company announced that brand new 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 exclusive Splatoon game – titled Splatoon Raiders – via the app, and now Nintendo has confirmed the next Nintendo Direct is on the way𒐪 this week. This time, it's focused on the Switch 2's first big game releasing after its launch; Donkey Kong Bananza.

The post reads: "Tune in on Wednesday, June 18 for a livestreamed Donkey Kong Bananza Direct," which is pretty vague as far as Nintendo Direct announcements go (at least compared to the previous Direct Tweets). The app gives no word of what aspec☂ts of the game it will go over, or how long the presentation will be, however, a it'll run for around 15 minutes – roughly the same length as the Mario Kart World Direct earlier this year.

There were previously rumours of a Nintendo Direct happening this week, with Nintendo typically holding an event in June. These were furthered over the weekend by Red Dead Redemption actor Rob Wiethoff saying 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:some "exciting news" was coming this week, leading some to believe a Red Dead Redemption 2 port for Nintendo Switch 2 was on the way, which would make sense to be announced in a potential Direct. However, I'd be shocked if Red Dead makes an appearance in a Donkey Kong Directꩵ, unless Bananza is going to go in some wild dirꩵections.

Mario Kart World could be due a Donkey Kong-themed expansion, fans theorize, with the bizarre lack of DK love in the Switch 2 racer leaving players suspicious.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> One of the hot new 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 features touted in the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 Direct was Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). However, Nintendo didn't make it entirely clear if VRR would be available on both handheld and TV mode, and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the developer removed the mention of it working on TVs from its websites last month.

In a , a Nintendo representative said, "Nintendo Swi🥃tch 2 supports VRR in handheld mode only. The incorrect information was initially published on the Nintendo Switch 2 website, and we apologise for the error."

The website followed up with Nintendo to ꧒ask if the mode could be coming for docked play down the line, but it was met with a "We have nothing to announce on this topic." That isn't a denial, so that hop♎efully means VRR will come eventually.

Notably, the PS5 also has VRR, but like the Nintendo Switch 2's TV mode, it wasn't available at launch, instead arriving 18 months after the system launched. It could be a similar situation for the Switch 2, although it would be great if it doesn't🧸 take as long.

For those unaware, VRR is a feature that ensures the game's framerate and the refresh rate of your screen stay ♎in sync, which makes things look far smoother and gets rid of the likes of screen tearing.

While this probably won't be a big issue for the vast majority of Switch 2 users (analysts reckon there are going to be 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:100 million of those by 2029), it's nice to see Nintendo actually caring 🍷about these technical details.

As Switch 2 fans worry about price increases, Nintendo of America president isn't too reassuring as he admits tariffs make for "a very fluid situation"

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:FromSoftware has confirmed that the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 Tarni💛shed edition of Elden🌺 Ring will bring two new character classes for players to start their nest run with, just three years after the game was released.

The 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 Direct did a lot to cement the new Nintendo platform as a third-party powerhouse, with the likes of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Street Fighter 6 announced for the handheld.

Nintendo decided to make a statement with the first third-party game shown: FromSoftware's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Elden Ring. While the massive RPG has 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:already sold 30 million copies elsewhere, the revelation that you could play it in the bath via the Switch 2 was an exciting way to kick things off.

We're getting Elden Ring and its excellent 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Shadow of the Erdtree expansion as part of the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Bandai Namco also confirmed some new bits of DLC like 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:weꦇapons, arm𒈔or, and new looks for Torrent. However, it turns out that's not all the new additi﷽ons for Elden Ring on Switch 2.

(via ) cove🐷red the "FromSoftware Games Event Spring 2025," where the developer revealed those new starters.

The loosely translated "Knight of Ides" and "Heavy Knight" will be arriving as part of the Nintendo Switch 2 port, with other platforms getti🥀ng the content via a coi🔜nciding update.

Not much info was given about the two new classes or their stats, although given the Heavy ꦰKnight's name and the fact that the image shown for it features a big, bulky, bastard sword-wielding brute, I imagine strength and vitality are plentiful with this class.

The Knight of Ides, howevꩵ𓆏er, is more of a mystery right now, only showing a pretty standard knight. My kingdom for a beefier magic swordsman starter.

We'll know more when the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Elden Ring releases, but considering it's sitting with a vague '2025' date, we're not sure when that'll be.

Oh by the way, speaking of open world games, did you see that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:GTA 6 trailer 2 was released?

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> Though it never approached the level of the Xbox 360's red ring of death, Joy-Con analog stick drift became a serious issue with the originaꦜl Nintendo Switch, and doubly so with the Switch Lite, which ha♍s controllers baked right in.

Gradual wear would regularly lead the sensors on the analog sticks to misread inputs or, infamously, register movement all on their own. It's a nasty hardware fault that many players are hoping the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 will avoid, and we can officially add Doom Guy and Romero Games game director J🐲🍬ohn Romero to that list of players.

Speaking with GamesRadar+ as part of a broader roundtable on 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:developer hopes an🅷d expecta🌳tions for the Switch 2, Romero sh🦄ared a simple wishlis👍t for Nintendo's new console.

"💯A stronger and more premium-feeling console with better analog sticks would be great, as Joy-Con drift is a known issue for some people," Romero said. "More𝓡 RAM, faster CPU+GPU, and 1080p handheld would be nice."

The Switch 2 certainly has better components and processors, and we've got confirmation of 1080p output on its handheld LCD screen, but there are still a few big questions. Per our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 hands-on preview, the console looks and feels more robust, but Joy-Con durability isn't so easily evaluated. We simply have 𒈔to spend a lot more time with these things to see if they hold up.

What we do know is that the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询🐠🦂:Switch 2 Joy-Cons don't use Hall effect sticks, which are markedly more resistant to wear and drift – if not functionally immune – due to their magnet-based design. Nintendo of America's SVP of product development and publishing, Nate Bihldorff, confirmed this just last month, pouring cold water on 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the hopes of many fans.

"They're not Hall Effect sticks, but they feel really good," he said of the new Joy-Cons. "Whether it's a new system or an accessory, [Nintendo is] designing from the ground up to be the best possible experience for our consumers – whether it's the immediate effect of the Joy-Cons that you're playing, how they're interacting with the game, or durability. They take it and rebuild it so that we can give the best possible experien꧟ce."

Hopes for more durable Joy-Con controllers have only gone up on the heels of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:price hikes in the US, putting a pair of Switch 2 controllers at an eye-watering $95 pre-tax. The system itself is still ho♌lding at $450 despite ongoing tariff chaos.

We also spoke to Romero Games studio director and CEO Brenda Romero about her hopes and expectations for Nintendo's new console. She focused on the first-party lineup as a demonstration of what the console can do, saying she's "looking forward to Nintendo’s launch slate of games almost as much as the console itself. Nintendo consistently sets a 'Gam𒉰e of the Year' bar with its launch titles, and I’ꦆm hoping Switch 2 is no exception," though "good luck with Blue Prince out there."

Romero Games lead producer Alex Mann, meanwhile, hoped the Switch 2 will advance the handheld gaming space: "With the li🐽kes of the Switch and the Steam Deck pushing the limits in terms of what’s possible on the go, it’s exciting to think how other areas of the industry will innovate to cut the cable to the big home setups."

Nintendo is suing an accessory maker over "infringement, unfair competition, and false advertising" for releasing Switch 2 mock-ups weeks before reveal.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> The 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 has ended up more confusing and expensive than some people may have expected, but the simple promise of a new Nintendo hybrid console has been exciting enough for many folks as they book retirement homes for their original Switch. 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:$80 games? 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Digital game card restrictions? 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Confounding new-gen upgrades? An Astro's ൩Playroom-style tutorꦉial you have to pay for? I can barely hear you over the sound of a new Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, mouse controls, and the inevitable, endearing, 10-years-late jank of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo-brand Discord.

As we learned more about the Switch 2, I became more eager to hear how game developers are feeling about it. Over the past few months, both before and after the big Nintendo Direct reveal, I've spoken to dozens of game developers across the industry to ask one question: what are your hopes and expectations for the Nintendo Switch 2? (I technically asked two questions, with the other 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:focusing on ♑wha𓆉t people get wrong about games.)

I've heard a mix of mild disappointment, overwhelming joy, cautious optimism, and unflinching demands for improvements. The Nintendo Switch is o𒀰ne of the best (and best-selling) consoles of all time, but many developers see room for the Switch 2 to do more without sacrificing what makes the Switch, and Nintendo itself, great.

A better eShop

Let's get a big one out of the way. Many, many of the developers I spoke to agreed that the Nintendo eShop is the kind of outdated, threadbare store that gives hot garbage a bad name. Amazingly, I'm only taking mild libe🌊rties with paraphrasing here. New Blood head Dave Oshry sums it up nicely: "Mostly the eShop needs to be better. MUCH BETTER."

澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Her Story and Immortality boss Sam Barlow seems to agree. "I'd love to see a robust eShop and an ecosyꩵstem that supports indie developers with discoverability and a sensible approach to pricing," he says. ("As a player," Barlow adds, "I just want𝓰 CRT filters for the N64 emulation!")

Oh, you don't like hentai ꦜon your Switch? With bad UI that takes 20 minutes to load one PNG?

Alx Preston, Heart Machine

"I hope Ecuador gets the eShop this time," says Ape Out's Gabe Cuzzillo, now part of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Baby Steps team.

In a group interview, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Possessor(s) producer Myriame Lachapelle of studio Heart Machine also said, "I want the Nintendo eShop to be better." Director Alx Preston chimed in with a, "Oh, you don't like hentai on your Switch? With bad UI that takes 20 minutes to load one PNG?" Preston ultimately called it "a pathetic store. Probably the most painful part💃 of that system." Narrative director Tyler Hutchinson pleaded, "൩please write the Nintendo eShop in compiled language and not a web app."

TinyBuild CEO Alex Nichiporchik wants "more social features on the store and a fast adoption rate of the Switch 2, so that it would make sense to develop for it directly." creator Joakim Sandberg reckons "the current store has a sensation of just being a slo🏅w list that's added to, which makes it awful to look through and find new things." He also echoes calls for some Steam-sounding "discovery, features and user-b💛ased recommendations."

Noah Allen, dev on the promising Celeste-like platformer , hopes for Nintendo to take cues from Steam on curation and letting "the good stuff rise to the top." Gregorios Kythreotis of Sable dev Shedworks is likewise dreaming of "a bit of a reset on the Switch marketplace ecosystem" that "can help surface indies in a more cu💖rated way and find a way to filter some of the noise on the store," and avoid the "race to the bottom" approach behind some previou🦂s eShop sale tactics.

Smooth, updated hardware

Specifics are a little fuzzy, and new revenue rankings 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:aren't necessarily♕ an auspicious st𝕴art for indies, but Nintendo has committed to eShop upgrades of some kind for Switch 2. But what about under the hood? How does it run, and how are devs gonna work with this 🐼thing?

A stronger and more prem💎ium-feeling console with better analog sticks would be great

John Romero, Romero Games

Better hardware that's easier to develop for was another common response. The Switch 1 wasn't really state of the art when it came out – 澳洲꧙幸运5开奖号码历史查询:even Nintendo has lamented its slower processors – and roughly a million years later, it's noticeably behind other platforms. There's a reason a lot of games don't come to Swit💃ch nowadays, or run poorly, at❀ least comparatively, if they do. Many devs are more than ready for Nintendo to get on the same page as the rest of the industry, even if the Switch 2 isn't quite on par with PS5 and Xbox Series X.

John Romero, now game director at Romero Games, has a simple wishlist: "A stronger and more premium-feeling console with better analog sticks would be great, as Joy-Con drift is a known issue for some people. More RAM, faster CPU+GPU, and 1080p handheld would be nice." (澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:No Hall effect analog sticks, but at least some of💙 Romero's wishes have💞 come true!)

Image of a plethora of Switch 2 accessories as seen on the official Nintendo website.

There's a real challenge and oppor🍨tunity cost to optimizing for a system as weak as the Switch 1. It may be impossible, or so ludicrously difficult that it's not worth it (especially when those eShop hangups can limit your game's visibility and reach, wink wink). Will Gwasera, direc🧔tor of , notes that "a lot of game developers haven't been able to port their games on there because they can't match the system."

Bennett Foddy, dev of QWOP anꦅd Getting𒈔 Over It fame who's now working on Baby Steps, hopes it "performs so well we don't have to care about optimizing. I'd love to be on that platform without it being really hard to be on that platform."

Switch producer on eShop changes

The Wii Shop Channel logo

Nintendo Switch 2 producer Kouichi Kawamoto 澳洲幸运5开奖💟号码历史查询:discussed impro🤡vements to the new console's eShop wit𒅌h the goal of living up to the Wii Shop Channel. "I wanted to make sure that it was a smooth experience, that the ꦗscrolling of the list doesn't stop, that it's very smooth, pages load fast," he said. "These are all requests that I made to the team in great detail and great amounts." Here's hoping these hold up in practice.

Looking to refine the existing Switch experience, Oshry singles out "more power and better performance and the ability to improve performance for our games from Switch 1." Maxi Boch, another Baby Steps and former Ape Out dev, dreams that it will "make our ꦫgame play without having to do a single t꧑hing." Indie dev Aerial_Knight from the Dropshot team also just wants Nintendo to "give us a more powerful Switch."

"If we can get slightly better hardware, a slightly better screen, and people are still buying the thin⛦g they want as a handheld console, especially if we get better performance from a lot of games, I think that'll make a big difference," agrees Richard Atlas of Ultimate Sheep Raccoon dev Clever Endeavour.

EA veteran and Romero Games lead producer Alex Mann hopes to see Switch 2 drive the handheld gaming market forward altogether. "With the likes of the Switch and the Steam Deck pushing the limits in terms of what’s possible on the go, it’s exciting to think how other areas of the industry will innovate to cut the cabl🐟e to the big home setups," they say.

There's more to third-party support than just hardware viability, too. Troy Saemann, of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion's Graffiti Games, says, "I do hope that Nintendo's gonna get better about allowing third-party publishers to go onto the platform a little easier. Compared to Steam, Microsoft, Play෴Station, that's just how Nintendo is."

The video game industry needs a bit 🍌of a breath of life in it at the moment, something new

Julian Gollop, Snapshot Games Inc

Ori✅ginal XCOM creator Julian Gollop, now heading up action-strategy game Chip n' Clawz vs. The Brainoids, would "love to come back to working on ꧂a Nintendo console again ... there's a big update in the hardware, some cool new sort of co-op style game chat feature is really good. Game share is really good. It's reminiscent of what we had on the DS, for example. So yeah, I'm pretty excited about it."

Something surprising

Donkey Kong holds his face as his tongue hangs loose and his eyes display banana images in Donkey Kong Bananza - he is obsessed with the yellow fruit

Gollop gets into an understated element here. This isn't just a new console launch. It's a new Nintendo console launch. Deserved UX complaints aside, Nintendo is one of the best to ever do it. A new Nintendo box is rare and tantalizing. Circana games analyst Mat Piscatella told me that the Switch 2 has come at a difficult time where people just want to find something that makes them happy. Few devs do happiness like Nintendo, and many devs I spoke to zeroed in that inimitable Nintendo m💯agic.

"I really hope it's successful, because the video game industry needs a bit of a breath of life in it at the moment, som🌊ething new," Gollop said. "Obviously it's an iteration of the Switch. But I've already pre-ordered. I would love to develop games for it, for sure."

I want some wild stuff that's gonna keep us excited about games. Hopꦕefully꧋ they're not just done with that at Nintendo.

Andrew Krausnick, Shiny Shoe

There's a delicate and interesting balancing act between playing it too safe and sticking to what worked with the Switch. Barlow reckons "the hardware itself looks pretty great! A really solid update to what we had with Switch." David Jimenez, of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:promising Metroidvania Altered Alma, describes it as "more of the same, but better." Atlas doesn't think it will "revolutionize the world," but it should "hold Nintendo over until their next,ܫ mo🎃re creative thing."

Princess Peach on bike with Mario and Bowser on track in backdrop.

Some devs are just happy with that. David Gorman, who I found at Offbrand Games via the lovely monster taming roguelike , says "my biggest hope is that they don't mess with a good thing. I think the Switch has really succeeded because it's very accessible, it's got a great diverse library of games, they're not trying to be the highest-power hardware." (Near across-the-board♔ price hikes in the self🐲-tariffed US do raise some concerns here, but hey, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:a new Xbox is now $600.)

Others want something a little more out-there, even if it's still packaged in a familiar way. 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Monster Train 2 director Andrew Krausnick is "a little worried" about how iterative Switch 2 seems. "I hear they've got a few things cooking," he says, "but I want another Wii, I want some wild stuff that's gonna keep us excited ♕about games. Hopefully they're not jus♒t done with that at Nintendo."

Bethesda and AAA veteran Joel Burgess, who recently 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:unveiled his new studio Soft Rains, just wants to be surprised. "That's all I want from it," he says. "I have such an immense respect for the design sensibility of Nintendo and how much that influences everything. It's been spoken about by Nintendo as relatively little as Nintendo speaks about their internal processes, but from game design to h𓃲ar🅷dware to even the way they run as a company, there's such a tremendous sensibility."

Nintendo magic

澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Switch 💎2's Joy-Con mouse functionality is one standout, Nintendo-grade oddity. As a strategy diehard, Gollop is intrigued: "A traditional style mouse control RTS might work really well here, and also you've got at least a reasonable number of switches you can use to substitute keyboard commands." Oshry, whose studio specializes in making shooters and hating money, said the mouse could be "a game changer." Metroid Prime 4: Bꦉeyond has arguably already shown the potential of the mouse-cons.

Foddy is of a similar mind: "There's so much you can do, that's interesting and new, just by having a Switch that's portable with two mice." Boch agreed that "more haptics is always welcome. I l🎃ike new input devices. I think that controller hegemony is evil." On thꦍat note, Possessor(s) writer Laura Michet prays that the Switch 2 and its controllers aren't too heavy. "I busted my wrist playing the Steam Deck like that!"

Others turned to Nintendo's games as a demonstration of what the system and its architects can do. Romero Games studio director and CEO Brenda Romero is "looking forward to Nintendo’s launch slate of games almost as much as the console itself. Nintendo consistently sets a 'Game of the Year' bar with its launch titles, and I’m hoping Switch 2 is no exception," though "澳洲幸运5开奖号码历ꦦ史查询:good luck with Blue Prince out there."

David Szymanski, a prolific purveyor of weird short games who's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:arguably best known for Iron Lung, says "my main hope 𝓡is just for Luigi's Mansion 4! And that the wheelchair basketball game doesn't destroy everyone's wrists."

I don't want to be laid at the feet of scalpers

Xalavier Nelson Jr., Strange Scaffold

John Buckley, publishing manager at Palworld developer Pocketpair (who I spoke with at GDC shortly after he discussed the company's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:ongoing legal battle with Nintendo), admits he's been "a dirty PC Gamer for most of my life," so hꦍis hope for the Switch 2 is "more indies," and maybe a little 💖more exploration from Nintendo.

Player wearing yellow sweater using Nintendo Switch 2 JoyCon in mouse mode playing Drag x Drive on woodgrain coffee table.

"I played Cadence of Hyrule on Switch," he explained. "I just thought it was the coolest thing ever. The whole time, I was like, why aren't they putting this everywhere? Crypt of the Necr⛦odancer is an incredible game anyway, but Cadence of Hyrule, I just, I'd love to see more of those kinds of things on Switch. I didn't own a Switch, I don't know if I'd buy a Switch 2 – again, I just play most games on PC – but for me it'd be those Cadence of Hyrule kind of games that'd convince me."

Folks like Strange Scaffold boss Xalavier Nelson Jr. are almost painfully relatable. "I don't want to be laid at the feet of scalpers," he said, "so that I can get one and I can play it with my wife. My hopes and expectꦺations for Switch 2 are just that I can get it."

Like countless players, the de♑velopers I spoke to were looking forward to the Switch 2, but often for different and specific reasons. There's hope that Nintendo's latest wave of modernization will reach some of its dated practices alongside its processors, and while there is an appetite for more Switch-standard goodness, there's also a sense of longing for the wilder days of the Switch 1's launch.

We can't redo the portable console 💝boom, but the Switch 2 has a shot at recapturing that sense of spirit and opportunity in a more dev-friendly package. Now we just have to hope we can actually buy one without being forced to choose our least favorite kidney.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> It ain't easy to lock down a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 pre-order, even if you're closely tied with Nintendo. Folks like Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai and Nintendo Direct narrator Yuichi Nakamura have to jump in the pre-order lottery for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 just like everybody else, and as their numbers come up so has some fℱriendly beef that can only be settled by an IRL meetup to recreate the most iconic image of the 1997 cinematic classic Men in Black.

It's probably selling Nakamura a bit short to simply call him the "Nintendo Direct narrator," as he's a prolific voice actor who's appeared in everythinꦫg from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure to Final Fantasy, but the fact that he's the de facto voice of Nintendo marketing in Japan means that his struggles to secure the new console feel downright tragic.

Las💮t week, Nakamura that he'd be cutting ties with anybody who successfully secured a spot in the Switch 2 pre-order lottery, as noted by . When Sakurai announced that he'd grabbed a pre-order, Nakamura responded questioningly, prompting the Smash Bros. director (via Google Translate) "We need to quickly shine the light that will erase his memories...!"

That is, of course, a reference to Men in Black's Neuralyzer – or "flashy thing," as you may recall Will Smith's Agent J ﷽calling it – a small gadget that erases memories with a bright light. Convenient both for explaining away alien encounters and preserving friendships that might otherwise be jeopardized by video game console jealousy.

Nakamura then posted a of a standard Nintendo Switch with a "2" scrawled on the back in yellow marker. Clearly, Sakurai was going to have to🙈 make good on the Neuralization promise. And so he did, meeting up with Nakamura to Neuralyze him with what looks like a karaoke microphone. I guess that counts as a happy ending to this goofy little saga.

Joy and despair as game devs fight for a Switch 2 of their own, with Smash Bros' Masahiro Sakurai lucking into one while Balatro's LocalThunk still hunting.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> The big 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 reveal gave Tomodachi Life fans the announcement they've wanted for more than a decade, but their Animal Crossing companions across the pond were left hunꦯgry for news on what's next for their life sim obsession.

Wander a bit further in the valley of life and social sims and you'll find more good news. I've been eating like a king for months because Level 5's new life sim RPG, Fantasy Life꧃ i: The Girl Who Steals Time, is fi💎nally coming after 11 years.

A new trailer for Fantasy Life i, the fir🌺st non-mobile installment in the series since 2014's underrated 3DS banger Fantasy Life, was released earlier today (in Japanese but with English subtitles), and this long-aw𒆙aited follow-up looks better every time I see it.

It won't be a native Switch 2 game, but Fantasy Life i is coming to Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 21, ahead of the June 5 Switch 2 launch. I'll probably end up playing it on my Switch 2 anyway to help justify spending a small fortune (now a slightly larger fortune, with 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 accessory prices rising in the US) on a conso꧒le that has one exclusive game I'm actually interested in.

As a reminder, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders now open in the US on April 24, and the base price of the console is holding at $449.99 in the region.

The Fantasy Life bug has slowly been spreading around the GamesRadar+ office, with my comrade Anna joining me in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:despairing over its repeated delays.

There's something about this series' – wh🍃ich is to say, the previous gam♐e's – mix of crafting, gathering, and combat skills that hits my brain in a way no other life sim has. It's more adventurous and goal-oriented, and quests and progression systems loop back on each other in a way I found irresistible all those years ago.

The new trailer spotlights the cycle of accepting a quest to craft a specific item, sourcing the materials out in the wild (sometimes by courteously escorting monsters or skill bos൲ses into the afterlife), and then crafting up a storm back at the carpentry desk.

Fantasy Life i lets you change jobs as needed out in the field, increasing your options and reinforcing the synergy between different life paths. A good Carpenter can make good bows to u🍸se as a Hunter, for example, while a skilled Angler will find it easier to make better dishes as a Cook.

I've always described Fantasy Life as a life sim moonlighting as a Zelda game, and the latest entry looks like an expanded, spruced-up version of that. Enlivened🤪 by a Japan🤪ese narrator describing these life paths with the energy of a MOBA esports moderator shouting "pentakill," the new trailer communicates that same charm.

This one can't come soon enough.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> Yesterday's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World Direct didn't exactly have any mind-blowing revelations for the upcoming 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 game. It did, however, potentially uncover a piece of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Super Mario lore that could answer a decades-long mystery about 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Donkey Kong that will have massive implications for the Mushroom ൩Kingdom.

Okay, so the one fact we do know is that Donkey Kong from the original 1981 arcade game isn't the same Donkey Kong from Donkey Kong Country, and that the original one is now Cranky Kong in the new era. However, over the ye෴ars there have been conflicting reports on whether the new-age Kong is Cranky's son (Donkey Kong Jr.) or his grandson (Donkey Kong Jr. Jr.?). While the Donkey Kong Country games and Rare's version of events have always been that Cranky is his grandfather, the Super Mario Bros. Movie has DK calling him 'dad'.

In the new Nintendo Direct, while showing off the online play, there is a shot of 🔴the original Super Mario Kart cast on a billboard with their Mario Kart World variants posing in front of it. Except, Donkey Kong is posing in front of the Donkey Kong Jr. sign, which led fans on Reddit to speculate that this is direct confirmation of the Kong family tree and that the modern DK is, in fact, Donkey Kong Jr.

from

Personally I'm still team grandson, but – just like with elements of the wild Zelda timeline – I don't even think Nintendo knows at this point. There are cases like Yoshi's Island DS, which has baby Mario and the baby version of modern DK appearing alongsi🍸de each other, which would make the plumber way too young to have scrapped with Cranky and Jr. back in the original arcade games. Mario Tennis N64, on the other hand, has a young Donkey Kong Jr. appearing alongsiཧde regular modern DK, making him older than his own dad

Of course, , it could simply be that Donkey Kong Jr. is൲n't in the game and they are usin🀅g his son as a stand-in. I mean, I'm sure that's probably not the same Koopa Troopa, given the amount Mario has stomped over the years.

Regardless, it's adding more fuel to the fire of one of the most important debates in human history – what exactly is the Kong family tree?

If this isn't a proper confirmation, hopefully we'll find out the answer to this massive mystery in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Donkey Kong Bananza.

Mario Kart World was officially released on the Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. This date was first revealed back during the April 2 showcase. However, we technically got our first look at the game on January 16, during the Switch 2 announcement that ℱshowed some sneaky racing footage.

While Mario Kart World reviews are still coming in, first impressions of the game h▨ave generally been positive. Many are praising the title's new Knockout mode, while the Free Roam feature that lets players drive around the map at their own leisure to discover secrets and stickers to customize their vehicles with has been mixed.

In our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World June preview, we were in the camp who liked the scope of Free Roam and generally are excited to keep discovering more of Mario Kart World, as there is a ton to explore and unpack. We'll let you know what the general consensus truly is once more review🍃s start popping up in the wꦜild.

Mario Kart World platforms

Mario Kart World is a Switch 2 exclusive. So that means you won't bꦛe able to play ⭕it on your old Switch.

One thing is for certain, as well, like with all Mario games, platforms will be strictly🌸 Nintendo-owned and operated. So, don't expect to play Mario Kart 9 on your Steam Deck or♐ PS5 anytime soon.

Mario Kart World gameplay

The Mario Kart World gameplay reveal during the Nintendo 2 Direct gave us ouꩵr first proper look at the new Mario Kart game in action, and it's gone in an open-world direction. Instead of the usual track set-up we've seen in previous entries, the races take place in "various regions that span the globe", and 𒊎even feature different weather conditions and times of day, which changes up the atmosphere of the race you're speeding your way through.

Not only that, but you won't just be hitting the road either, with the ability to drive almost anywhere. Yes, that means you can now race off the track, too, and there's even an option to go for a 💎casual drive with pals in a new Free Roam. From our time with the game so far, this pairs perfectly with the game's photo mode, which is another new feature introduced in Mario Kart World - the trailer shows some drivers sidling up together to get in the camera frame for a screenshot.

There are also 24 racers hitting theඣ track, which is a series first, and there are a ton of fancy new features as well. For instance, a new "Charge Jump" move lets you jump onto rails, quickly avoid attacks, and lets you chain wall drives in order to uncover secret routes on the course. You can also unlock outfits for your racers by finding food on different tracks.

Wo🌱rld also lives up to its name by having you race between courses during the Grand Prix mode to reach the next track, which makes it feel much bigger in scope and keeps the flow of the race going🎀. Each "lap" to the next course is broken up into sections as opposed to looping tracks.

In the past, vehicles were broken up into different parts we could choose from -such as selecting wheels and paragliders, b🗹ut a past Nintendo Treehouse also confirmed that the vehicles in World are all "fully formed".

With a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Mario Kart World Direct in April following the console's dedicated showcase, we got a big deep-dive into the new racing adventure, with confirmation that Free-Roam features 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:"hundreds" of P switches that are hidden around the world that start up missions a bit like those found in Mario Kart DS's Mission Mode - with the switches appearing to start up objectives such as collecting a set number of coins, or reaching a particularꦛ goal.

Finally, voice chat is in Mario Kart World for all you Nintendo Switch Online Members. It will also be compatible with the new Switch 2 camera if you plan to watch your friends play or keep an ey🌞e on them online. Tilt Controls for motion control steering are also available for folks. There is also a Joy-Con 2 Wheel accessory up for sale, but that will cost you extra.

Mario Kart World modes

There are five modes in Mario Kart World: Grand Prix, Knockout Tour, Time Trials, Vs Race, and Battle. So, let's break down each of them.

In Grand Prix mode, yo🔥u'll race against drivers, and once you complete all circuits, Nintendo has also teased that potentially a "colorful new course" will unlock as well. There are a total of seven cups to play through, each with four distinctive tracks. Like with past Mario Kart games, the difficulty of your races is up to what engine classes you pick before starting a circuit (eg. 50cc, 100cc, etc).

In VS races, you can create up to four competing teams this time around, f🐷ully utilizing the stacked 24-racer roster in the game. This mode will have you and your team compete in a Grand Prix, and it's up to you to gather more points than your opponents by placing higher after each race.

While not a new mode officially in Mario Kart World, Free Roam is a new feature that we need to highlight as well. In Free Roam, we can, as the name gives away, freely roam through any of the tracks within a cup course. You can go in any direction you want, too, with the freedom to go off-road and casually drive around with friends around any part of the course. This presents you with the chance to not only explore but also try to learn each track and perhaꦍps come up with new strategies to win.

Another new Mario Kart World mode is , which is a "transcontinental rally" where 24 players have to try and avoid being knocked out and make it through each leg of the race - all the tracks are interconnected. Every checkpoint will have set parameters, so you have to be in a certain place in the race to qualify for the next part💯. Going from 20th or better, it breaks down to 16th or better, 12th or better, 8th or better, and 4th or better, before it's down to the last two racers who have to aim for first place to ultimately win.

We've also learned the names of the different possible courses you can race through in the Knockout m💧ode, which are as follows: Gol𒉰den Rally, Ice Rally, Moon Rally, Spiny Rally, Cheery Rally, Acorn Rally, Cloud Rally, and Heart Rally.

In Knockout Mode, Free Roam will also briefl🗹y act as a play lobby while you wait for players to join the session, with binocular stations dotted around the area that let you do some sightseeing in the interim. You'll also be able to send messages to other racers using the D-Pad on the Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers.

Battle Mode is also returning to th൩e fold, with Balloon Battle and Coin Runners - two challenges that were in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. And of course, the Time Trial mode is also back to making use of the Switch 2's online features.

Pre-order if:

✅ You want to to get your hands on the Nintendo Switch 2 from day one.
✅ You want to play the launch games as early as possible.
✅ You want to avoid any disappointment from any future stock shortages.

Don't pre-order if:

❌ You don't have the budget for a brand-new console.
❌ You still have plenty to play on your current Switch.
❌ You'd rather wait for a Switch 2 bundle.

We all knew the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 was coming, even before the first official reveal finally dropped earlier this year. Rumours and leaks had been building up for so long that we essentially knew what to expect from the Switch successor well before the video Ninty dropped on January 16 - but that diඣdn't make it any less exciting.

The first, albeit short, look at the brand-new 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:gaming handheld confirmed our suspicions that it was marginally bigger than its predecessor and that it'll sport a new fancy kickstand, an additional USB-C port, and a mysterious c-button, among more changes, but any mention of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders was markedly absent.

Wit💃h the next Nintendo Switch 2-centered Direct just days away, the question on everyone's lips is undeniable: should y൩ou pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2? Grabbing it on day one will mean negating any nasty FOMO, but it also means parting with a lot of cash, and that's without knowing any of the launch titles or whether it'll actually be a noticeable upgrade as far as performance and features go.

If you wait, you could maybe grab a Switch 2 bundle later in ꧑the year and make a savi🌺ng, or save even more by sticking to your current Switch. To help you make your decision, we've gone over everything you need to consider before splashing out on Nintendo's latest handheld from the get-go.

The price

Nintendo Switch 2 with Joy-Con controllers removed at the sides

The two biggest factors in your decision to pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 are time and price; how long you can wait to get your own device, and how likely we are to see discounts after release day. I'll get it straight out of the way first, we don't see price cuts on Nintendo Switch hardware for a long time after release. This likely won't be cheaper in November's holiday sales - it might not even see a discount for a couple of years. Outside of the odd Black Friday bundle (which would still see you paying at least MSRP fo𒁃r the console itself), the price that the Nintendo Switch 2 launches at will be with us for a long time.

That's where time comes in. Knowing that you will, in all probability, be paying the same price for a Nintendo Switch 2 at the end of the year as you will on April 2, it's worth considering how quickly you need to get your hands on the new console. T✃hose months in between now and the holidays could be spent with the Switch 2 - it comes down to whether the numbers work out for you.

We don't yet have any official word from Nintendo regarding how much the Switch 2 going to cost, but rumors suggest it could be around $400 / £350, with $499.99 being the highest Nintendo could go. To put that into context, the Nintendo Switch OLED model currently retails for $349.99 / £309.99, and the original Switch launched for $299.99 / £279.99 back in 2017.

The industry as a whole has changed over the almost eight years since the first Switch handheld was released into the wild. Triple-A games are now more expensive, so it should come as no surprise if Nintendo confirms this $499.99 MSRP🍌 come April 2 - it just depends on whether that is manageable for you.

Nintendo Switch 2

It's not only the price of the actual handheld that you have to take into account. If you want to play any of the Switch 2 launch titles, you'll also have to ensure you can afford to pre-order those too. Right now, brand-new Switch games have an average MSRP of $59.99, but there's no telling if Switch 2 games will be even more expensive. If you have the means to afford the Switch 2 and a few games, then by all means, pre-order one, but anyone cringing at the thought might be better holding off for now.

If the upcoming handheld opts for an OLED display, then you'll need to prepare for an even bigger MSRP. However, it's believed the new handheld will launch with a bigger LCD screen rather than adopting the display of the current Switch's OLED version - probably to keep costs low and make the handheld more accessible to those with varying budgets.

Verdict: We don't know the official price of the Nintendo Switch 2, however, rumors suggest we could see an MSRP of $49🅺9.99. That's pretty reasonable when you consider the cost o🀅f other current-gen consoles, and let's not forget, you're still getting a console-handheld hybrid for that price.

The games

Without any indication on the Switch 2 launch game line-up, it's pretty difficult to determine whether or not its prospective game library is enough to get you leaning towards pre-ordering or not pre-ordering the brand-new handheld. Difficult, but not impossible.

Each brand-new Nintendo console release comes with a set of precisely picked games, so that all new adopters have at least something to play at launch. This has been the case for as long as Nintendo consoles have existed, and I doubt that’ll be any different with the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s these launch titles that will ultimately make or break anyone’s determination to pre-order the handheld, but unfortunately, we haven’t had any indication of what these could be.

When the current Switch launched back in 2017, you could play 1-2-Switch, Just Dance 2017, Skylanders: Imaginators, Super Bomberman R, I Am Setsuna, Snipperclips, Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment, Fast RMX and the now iconic The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Personally, I didn’t pre-order the original Switch as the only game that caught my attention, Breath of the Wild, was also available on the Wii U, and picking up that copy of the game meant saving a ton of cash in the process.

At the time, I knew that the Switch version of the game was better optimized, but that still didn’t hinder my enjoyment, even as a die-hard Zelda fan. With a ton of new games still slated for the current handheld, I have an inkling we’ll see a repeat of this sort of scenario. The Nintendo Direct presentation held on March 27 confirmed that highly anticipated games like Metr🐻oid Prime 4 are slated for the👍 current Switch, yet we got no indication of a release date outside a 2025 placeholder. Of the current rumor roster, Metroid Prime 4 and new Mario Kart look to be the most enticing titles for the largest number of players. If, like me in 2017, you’re happy to grab the original Switch version, then you wouldn’t have to pick up the Switch 2 until much later.

Samus firing a beam in a screenshot from Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

Speculation aside, the Switch 2 launch games could be all winners or🐟 all stinkers; there’s no telling until April 2. But at least if you’re more in the pre-ordering camp, you wouldn’t be left twiddling your thumbs. With backwards compatibility confirmed by Nintendo for both digital and physical games (with some exceptions) you’ll already have a wealth of ti💯tles to play. Ninty also confirmed that the Nintendo Switch Online game libraries will carry over to the Switch 2, so you'll have a ton of Nintendo classics to play to play too - depending on your NSO subscription.

Verdict: Waiting to grab the Nintendo Switch 2 later will mean you’ll have your pick of a huge range of Switch 2 games. Not only that, but by not pre-ordering the handheld, you could wait long enough for there to be plenty of patch updates and optimization for any launch titles.

Without any confirmation on the launch lineup of games, there’s no popular Nintendo IP draw that could be the determining factor on whether you need to have a Switch 2 from day one. That being said, if you’re a Nintendo die-hard fan and want to play the most optimized and best-performing versions of any Nintendo game as soon as they become available, the✃n pre-ordering the console makes a lot of sense.

Hardware upgrades

Whether or not the hardware upgrades of the Switch 2 are enough to get you ready to pre-order are hard to pinpoint - mainly as we don't officially know what to expect. Nintendo has been just as tight-lipped about the new handheld's specs as it has been about its price a♊nd its launch games, so we're left relying on rumors, leaks, and speculation instead.

I mean, i꧋t is the Nintendo Switch 2, so you'd hope that it'll be a big performance up🦩grade for the current handheld as otherwise, what's the point?

It's suspected that the Switch 2 will be decked out with a custom Nvidia chip, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 64GB eMMC storage, DLSS 2 support, FSR 3 support, an 8-inch LCD display, a much-improved battery life, and magnetically attaching new Joy-Con controllers.

That's a lot to unpack, so whether you want to pre-order the Switch 2 according to hardware alone will depend on which key hardware features appeal to you the most. If you're just hungry for a graphical and performance upgrade, then the Switch 2 is the way to go. As someone who's been regularly let down but the performance of some recent Switch games (I'm looking at you, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet), then I totally get it. If you're frust🅠rated with the Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED's sub-par battery life, then grabbing the successor from day one will hopefully put a stop to💛 your battery woes.

Verdict: Nintendo isn't known for releasing the very best in performance every console generation, and instead, the focus usually relies on its unique gimmicks and gaming experiences. That being said, based on previous leaks and rumors, there's a lot pointing to the Switch 2 as a worthwhile step up from the current handheld, and you're free to pre-order if you're desperate to see how brand-new and older games perform on the system.

If you want to get more value out of your current handheld, avoidinಞg pre-orders and waiting months after launch means you can determine whe🏅ther or not those upgrades are worth it.

Availability

One of, if not the biggest factors that should determine whether or not you pre-order the Switch 2 is availability. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa stated they were "making preparations" to combat resellers with the upcoming handheld, which is rumored to be the reason behind the handheld's 2025 delay. That should make it easy to grab a Switch 2 on the day and even days after pre-orders become available, but I wouldn't risk it.

If you don't want to wait months and months after launch with no Switch 2 to your name, pre-ordering the console as soon as you can is the best way. Many of us might be happy to wait even over a year until we decide to upgrade to the Switch follow-up, but if you're at least hoping to have one at release or shortly afterward, I recommend preparing yourself for a pre-order.

I went through the PS5 pre-ordering trenches, and I wouldn't wish that stress on my worst enemy. It resorted in daily 3 AM wake-ups to check stock on PS5-dedicated Discord servers, and this was months after the initial release day. The popularity of Nintendo and the upcoming Switch 2 is unprecedented, and there will be plenty of people eager to grab one for themselves or their Mario and Zelda-loving kids. Assuming they'll just be available months after release isn't a wise move, unless you're prepared to face some disappointment.

Verdict: Pre-ordering the Nintendo Switch 2 is your best bet to avoid any future stock shortages and disappointment if you're eager to play one on💫 release day or shortly aftꦛerwards. Plenty of retailers in the US and UK have got their Switch 2 pre-order pages primed and ready, so you don't need to look far to plan where to get yours.

Overall, should you pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2?

Back of the Nintendo Switch 2 console

Whether pre-ordering the Nintendo Switch 2 is a valid choice for you and you alone entirely depends on a🔯 few factors. Any hardcore Nintendo fans (which includes myself) will likely be flexing their hand muscles in order to secure that console as soon as humanly possible. But for those more conscious about their budget and what kind of gaming expe♛riences they want to have, it makes a whole lot of sense to wait.

For one, there's no sign of how much the new handheld is going to cost. If you stick to Nintendo hardware to keep your gaming budget low, it's a better decision to wait until the end-of-year sales events roll around. Discounts on the console itself won't come around until a few years after launch. However, this Black Friday is primed for the first Nintendo Switch 2 bundle. Switch bundles can save you cash on games and even subscriptions to Nintendo Switch Online if you're lucky. Just don't expect the first bundle to come with a physical Switch 2 game, especially as plenty o𝓡f the early original Switch bundles came with digital downloads. If money is no issue, and you hate that dreaded FOMO, pre-ordering a Switch 2 isn't going to matter a♋ll too much - unless you're desperate for some bragging rights.

Not to mention, we haven't yet been shown any launch games, so it could be some time before anything you like the l🐽ook of playing becomes available. It's all well and good owning the latest game's console, but if the launch games are a snoozefest, then it's just going to collect dust for the foreseeable futu💟re. On the other side of the Yoshi coin, if you play every single Nintendo game regardless of the IP, then there's bound to be a big-name game available from day one, and pre-ordering the Switch 2 means you'll be right there from the start.

Super Mario Odyssey - Mario underwater

I've already set aside the funds for the Nintendo Switch 2, and not just because having one as soon as possible will make my work life a lot easier. Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda games are among my favorite franchises to delve back into, and I can never shake off the fact "Neeno" (to mean Nintendo) was the first world I ever spoke. I'm only going to be able to experience what adventures my favorite moustached plumbers have next on Nintendo hardware, and so a Nintendo Switch 2 needs to be part of my gaming setup from day one.

I'm still recovering from trying to get a PS5 shortly after it released, but I'm confident I'll be able to pre-order a Nintendo Switch no problem. That's thanks in part to Nintendo's own reassurance that they'll have plenty of stock to go around this time around. Personally, I'm looking at the official Nintendo website to grab mine, mainly as it's one of the best options to ensure you get games and hardware, the day of release. For the US, I recommend checking out Walmart, Best Buy, and Amazon on the big day, especially as they've been steadily updating their Switch 2 information in the last few months.

You don't have to be like me, and if you can't justify the cost of the brand-new Switch, then by all means, don't put yourself out. Especially when there's still plenty of new games coming to the current handheld. After all, good things come to those who wait, and if that's your decision, you're bound to be able to take advantage of any future deals lꦯa🤡ter in the Switch 2's lifespan.

If you're happy sticking with your current Switch, picking up one of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Nintendo Switch SD cards, the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Nintendo Switch controllers, and one of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Nintendo Switch headsets will help spread the value of your beloved Ninty handheld.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> I've spent 10 hours playing 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Fire Emblem Engage so far, and in that time, I haven't been able to stop thinking about the games that came before it. It's hard not to think back on previous games when one of Engage's strongest features has you wear rings that let you channel the abilities and strengths of Fire Emblem characters past. With the likes of Marth from the original Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, Lyn from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, and Celica from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, tܫhese familiar faces are a firm reminder of how many fantastic tactical RPGs the series is home to.

As I get stuck into battle with a lineup of classic characters, Engage just intensifies my ongoing desire to revisit past entries on the Switch. Any time a Nintendo Direct gets announced, I find myself creating a summoning circle with m🍷y collection of Fire Emblem amiibos in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, I'll at last get the announcement I've been waiting for above all: Fire Emblem Fates and Awakening get the Switch treatment, along with older installments like Sacred Stones and Path of Radiance.

Sure, it seems less likely that we'd see the more recent 3DS games brought back, but I would be absolutely ecstatic to see Nintendo port over or re-release more installments that originally came to the Gam🐎eCube or GameBoy Advance. Not simply for my own enjoyment, but so younger generations can easily access and experience them on modern hardware.

Legacy

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

The 25 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Nintendo 3DS games of all-time

As much as I'm enjoying Engage for what it is, it hasn't hooked me in quite the same way as 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Fire Emblem: Three Houses did some five years ago. This isn't so surprising to me given that Three Houses is up there among one of my favorite games of all-time, but it got me thinking about why exactly that is. I love the appearance of legacy characters in Engage and the special abilities they afford you, and it continues to offer up its signature strategy battles. But Three Houses did such a fantastic job at making it feel as though I was having an impact on not just the direction of the story, but the students I was actively helping and instructing

But even if I don't feel as connected to the story or party in Engage, I'm still having a great time, and I don't think I've thus far not enjoyed a Fire Emblem game. Such a realization not only speaks to the strength of the series overall, but why I'm dying to see more games make a comeback on the Switch, or potentially whatever the much-rumored 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch 2 ends up being. It's not entirely outside of the realms of possibility either, given that Fire Emblem is already available on the virtual Game Boy Advance console on Nintendo Switch Online. Back in 2020, we also saw the release of Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light on the Switch to mark its 30th anniversary, making it officially available in the West for the first time. Unfortunately, for some reason, Nintendo decided to make this a limited-time relea💙se, a fact which still irks me to this day.

Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates have been firm favorites of mine for a long time now, and perhaps it's wishful thinking to hope they return anytime soon. But from the stellar storytelling to the satisfying strategic challenges, I'd kill to have another excuse to play them all over again in a Switch remaster or port. Awakening is home to some of the series' most memorable characters, while Fates offered distinctive routes that felt like thrಞee games in one - not unlike Three Houses. Plus, the bonding system felt all the more impactful in both games because it had different generations of characters, with every pairing on the battlefield potentially leading to marriage and children, which introduced new re🥃cruits to the fold.

Fire Emblem Awakening screenshot

I can and do revisit both on my 3DS, but as lengthy games that require quite a lot of investment of your time, I would love to be able to boot them up on my Switch and play them on a big screen. As I've gotten older, the ability to have the option to play in TV mode is the real beauty of the Switch console. With the re-release of so many visual novels on the platform, for example, I can play them all on aℱ big screen without having to crane over a smaller handheld for hours on end. The PS Vita was likewise fantastic for playing visual novels and longer RPGs thanks to the PS TV, which let you do much the same thing, and I would love to be able to revisit classic Fire Emblem games from the comfort of a larger screen.

Outside of my own comfort, the older games cost a pretty penny to pick up these days, particularly if you're looking to tuck into any of the GameCube titles like Path of Radiance. And from a game preservation standpoint, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the closure of the 3DS store just continues to reiterate the need for Nintendo to give players a way to access its back catalog of game🤡s for future generations to be able to enjoy.

At this point, I'd be happy to see any one of the Fire Emblem🧸 games added to the Switch. Perhaps the next time a Nintendo Direct rolls around, my summoning circle might actually work and my prayers will at la✃st be answered. But even if it doesn't, I'll keep on getting my amiibos at the ready and crossing my fingers and toes for more Fire Emblem goodness.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is just one of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Switch games you can play right now.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> I love when great games get modern day remasters, but it's rarely major news these days. At first glance, the recent announcement for Monster Hunter Stories coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC was no different. Yet, for longtime fans, there’s ♚a reason to get excited that risks being overshadowed.

You see, when Monster Hunter Stories released on Nintendo 3DS in the west,ဣ it received one of three updates that the Japanese release ended up getting. While western players got access to Version 1.1, content from versions 1.2 and 1.3 was never localized. The later mobile release – ♔including when the game was added to Apple Arcade as Monster Hunter Stories+ in 2021 – came with some new content exclusive to those versions, yet none of the Japan-exclusive 1.2 and 1.3 content made the jump to these releases.

Monster Hunter Stories promises to change that.🉐 And now, I'm excited.

Monster hunted

Part of the reason 1.2 and 1.3's content didn't make the jump stems from the nature of these updates. They added new Monsters to tame – such as Teostra, Kushala Daora and Rajang – and a ton of the other additions centered around the Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On! Anime series, where licensing might have been a concern. This included equipment and boss fights against characters from 𝔍the anime, some of which were the central focus of a new endgame activity as part of the Tower of Illusions, wherein multiple 50 Floor challenges were added.

Some of these changes included some fairly major quality-of-life features. You could hold double the number of Monsters, for example, and the character creator was greatly enhanced – with the ability to completely redesign your character, including their gender – instead of the restricted options from t🌜he original release. Even for Monsters that did see a release in the west, some were locked behind specific DLC Quests, which were given easier ways of obtaining them with later updates, which also had the knock-on effect of making it far easier to grind for specific equipment for your character.

Since Monster Hunter was 𝓡perceivably less m💖ainstream outside of Japan in 2017, and the 3DS game released after the Nintendo Switch’s launch, it’s not surprising that these discrepancies ended up overlooked. In fact, the only way most players will know that we’re finally getting this content is a small section on the remaster’s official site; where Capcom claims that all updates are included, and you can see both the missing Monsters and anime characters we in the west never got to see the first time around.

Monster Hunter Stories

"As someone who has been a fan of the series since the PSP, I’ve bee𓂃n one of those players that was left out in the cold – until now"

Notably, Capcom does𒁏n’t even make a big deal about this being the first time that this content is available in the west either. It did correctly mention this fact in its press release shortly after the game’s segment during🐭 the recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase - but despite a significant amount of content finally being accessible for many players for the very first time, I can’t help but feel that Capcom has buried the lede here.

As someone who has been a fan of the series since the PSP, and who played Monster Hunter: Stories when it landed on western shores, I’ve been one of those players that was left out in the cold – until now. Put another way: it would be like if we had only ever received Pokemon Gold and Silver back in the day, and it wasn’t until HeartGold and SoulSilver that🧸 the west had finally received the content that was origina𓆉lly exclusive to Pokemon Crystal.

Maybe Capcom doesn’t see it that way, or maybe it understands that with the series’ potential audience being so much larger outside of Japan now that they didn’t think most players would see this as a selling point. It's probably right about that. Yet, that doesn’t change the fact that Monster Hunter Stories isn’t just poised to be a simple remaster, it’s finally offering those of us who were ꩲthere at the beginning the chance to play a version of the game that we’d never been afforded the opportunity. That’s the sort of happy ending that should never be taken for granted.

Monster Hunter World is popping off on Steam again after 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Capcom’s online campaign and Monster Hunter Wilds’ reveal.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> Of the three mainstays in the console market, Nintendo is often the hardest to pin down. While Sony's PlayStation and Mꦓicrosoft's Xbox tend to have definitive, regularly drip-fed mar🐟keting beats and messaging that heralds the coming of whatever's coming in the near future, Nintendo often feels like it's doing its own thing. The short answer to what to expect from Nintendo in 2024 is: who knows. But the long answer is certainly an interesting one.

It all really just depends on whether the rumors and reports of a Switch 2 or Switch Pro or whatever you might want to call it finally pan out. There is essentially nothing definitively pointing to new hardware out of Nintendo this year, and the company itself has 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:denied and downplayed all reports to the contrary thus far. But if reports are to be believed – from 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:several reputable outlets, no less💞 – it is entirely poꦗssible that we see whatever's next for Nintendo's console by the end of 2024.

The future's bright

Big in 2024: GamesRadar+ preview of the biggest games of the year

GamesRadar+ is exploring the most anticipated video games of the year with 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Big in 2024, with new articles droppi🐷ng every dܫay throughout January.

Details beyond that are hazy, though some reports, not least the one linked above, suggest the new hardware will still include a cartridge slot, a handheld mode option like the original Switch, and perhaps an LCD screen to keep costs down. None of 🐭that is guaranteed by any means, but if nothing else, the timing does feel right considering Nintendo's history.

The Wii U launched roughly six years after the Wii, and the Switch launched just five years after the Wii U. This year marks seven since the launch of the Switch, and while ther𓃲e's certainly an argument to be made that console generations are only going to last💮 longer and longer, that's still quite a bit of time considering the PS5 and Xbox Series X are roughly half that age.

And let's be cle🅺ar here: Nintendo is still putting out bangers, despite the Switch's age and perceived limitations. While there's plenty to be said about the performance woes of the latest Pokemon games, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are both incredible pieces of work. And while the releaseꦐ calendar for Nintendo is relatively barren after March of this year, there's still Mario vs. Donkey Kong in February and Princess Peach: Showtime! in March. (Not to mention Another Code: Recollection this month!)

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door are also both set to release for the Switch at some point this year, and there's every indication that Nintendo will announce a Nintendo Direct at some point in the coming months that will at the very least lay out a goodly chunk of what else 🍬to expect in 2024.

But if I'm being entirely honest, Nintendo doesn't actually need to do much of anything this year to continue being my platform 🌞of choice, and I suspect I'm not the only one. Especially when you take into account the OLED model, I regularly find myself skewing toward the Switch when it comes to anything multiplatform. Sure, I'm still going to play Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on the PS5, but anything that isn't entirely locked down typically ends up being instal🧸led on my Switch over anything else.

For me, the Switch is right in the sweet spot of being just good enough for the vast majority of what I want to play that it doesn't matter that I'm not getting the most impressive, realistic graphics in the world. All that matter♈s is I can boot it up and immediately jump into Vampire Survivors or Dave the Diver or any number of first- and third-party titles that work and look perfe♔ctly fine.

So while a small, technically-driven coat of paint would be nice, there's really little that Nintendo absolutely must do to make the Switch 2 a smashing success. In fact, for my money, there ar🌜e essentially only two major shifts that would really make it a worthwhile upgrade: a fix for Joy-Con drift and something resembling actual online functionality.

Nintendo Switch

There are plenty of other little quality-of-life changes that Nintendo could make, and the company is known for zigging when others are zagging so there's no guarantee that some wild new method of control or play isn't bol𒁃ted on. But the two most prominent issues with the Nintendo Switc🥃h being resolved with its successor would go a long way.

So, what can you expect from Nintendo in 2024? Definitively, there will be a handful of first-party titles – some of which, I'm sure, are yet to be unveiled – and a bevy of thiꦺrd-party games that will inevitably end up on the Switch as a preferred platform for many.

While the rumor mill has constantly reiterated each y♌ear that this time there really ওmight be a new version of the Switch on the horizon, 2024 does actually feel finally poised to prove it accurate. There's no denying that Nintendo has to be working on something, after all, and I for one am looking forward to seeing behind the elusive curtain.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> I🅰t's almost time for The Pokemon Company to show everyone what it's been working on, so here's how to watch the Pokemon Presents show happening on August 8.

Last week, The Pokemon Company announced that it will be hosting a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:35-minute long Pokemon Presents livestream that will feature news and announcements about the beloved Nintendo franchise. The showcase is set to take place on August 8 at 6AM PT / 9AM ET / 2PM BST and can be watched via the official Pokemon .

As always, there's already tonnes of speculation about what we're going to see during the event. It's pretty safe to assume that we'll be seeing more on 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's DLC, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, which is set to launch later this year, as well as maybe some updates on the previously announced 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Detective Pikachu Returns

I'd love to see more of the upcoming Netflix series 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon Concierge which recently got a release date of December 2023. It would be great if we could finally see a proper trailer for this up𒐪coming animation as, so far, we've only had a teaser and a very brief glimpse at the set and some of the Pokemon puppets set to appear in the show.

There's also always a chance that we could see a brand-new Pokemon game. Since 2016, there's been a new Pokemon game released every year, including Pokemon Sun and Moon, Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon Sword and Shield, and ꦺso on, but right now, we don't know what The Pokemon Company is planning for 2024.

There's no guarantee on this one, but it's definitely possible, considering the length of the presentation and the amount of time it's been since we last had Scarlet and Violet and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Find out what we think are the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Pokemon games ahead of this week's presentation.

For now🥂 though, you've got me again - Sam Loveridge - to drum up some hype ahead of today's Nintendo Direct.

And here was me thinking we wouldn't be having another showcase so close to Summer 🥃Game Fest!

Let's start🔯 with Pikmin 4 shall we? It's the only game specifically named by Nintendo for a showcase at today's Nintendo Direct.

Pikmin 4 is due to launch on July 21, 2023 - so not long to go now. It's been in the works for some time now, but from everything we've seen of it so far, it's looking liཧke it'll be worth the wait.

You'll be playing as a customizable hero working to save Captain Olimar and the Rescue Corp from yet another crash landing.

Players areᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ very excited about the idea that we'll be going inside a house for the first time. Or so suggests some screenshots that have appeared on Pikmin 4 download cards in Japan...

It&𒁃apos;s also been confirmed that the game will feature splitscreen co-op, which has 🔯been a series staple since Pikmin 2.

Honestly I'm just here for this creature.

It's so weird that we've had such limited info for Pikmin 4 officially really, especially considerin𝕴g ൲it's out quite so soon.

I ඣimagine that today's Direct will feature a lengthy segment on Olimar's latest adventure.

But, really I wanna see what other games Nintendo counts among those "Nintendo Swiཧtch titles launching this year", because it's looking pretty light.

Ju🔯st a little KLAXON to say the Nintendo Direct starts in less than 30 minutes!!

Obviously the other imminent Nintendo rel🐬ease is 🙈Everybody 1-2 Switch, which is dropping on June 30.

Weirdly enough though, we got a befuddling Everybody 1-2-Swit꧒ch trailer mere hours before today's Nintendo Direct. It revealed that the some of the game's minigames support up to 100 player at once, with players able to join in with their phones or Joy-Con controllers, in a similar vein to Jackbox.

I'll warn y♑ou, it's quite the trailer if you want to watch it - and involves a man wearing a horse head mask for so🌱me reason.

If you're following the chat on the Nintendo Direct feed right no🅘w, there's some consistency in the pleas from fans right nowไ.

It's mainly a new Mario game and Metroid... among ♛chants𒉰 for Mother 3 of course.

Super Mario Odyssey

When it comes to Mario, I'm so with them. 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Super Mario Odyssey was so good and so needs a sequel, but I wonder if Nintendo is waiting to drop that with whatever is cooking for a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch Pro or Switch sequel. Of course, I doubt 🐎either of those woul🅘d drop today!

However, stranger things have happened...

Metroid Prime

As for Metroid, where is Metroid Prime 4? Back in May 2022, it did appear on Nintendo's launch schedule but without a year for release even vaguely attached. Originally announced back in 2017, it's obviously been through some development changes / hel🐽l since then.

Developer Retro Studios has been at the helm since January 2019, and has recently been on a hiring spree for development support, so hopefully, that means things are⛦ ramping up.

Nintendo

Personally, I'm just hoping that it's not all focused on remakes or ports. Some fresh stuff amongst the nos🐟talgia is what the Switch does really need.

Of course, all my free time is currently devoted to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Legend of Zelda: Tearsꦦ of ♛the Kingdom, so maybe it's♛ a little mean to say the Switch needs more new games.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> After weeks of rumors, our wishes have finally ওcome true. Here's how to watch the Nintendo Direct taking place this week.

On June 21, we'll be getting a Nintendo Direct showcase that's set to feature "roughly 40 minutes of information focused mainly on Nintendo Switch titles launching this year." Nintendo has only mentioned one title by name in its announcement and it's the last first-party title we know about, Pikmin 4, which is set to release as soon as next month.

Other than that, there's no telling what will appear during the Nintendo Direct. To tune in live, you should head to Nintendo's various YouTube accounts at 7AM PT / 10AM ET / 3PM BST or the . To make it even easier to watch the showcase live, we've included൩ a link to the stream below, so you can bookmark this page and come back to it just before the Dir▨ect begins.

As for what we can expect during the showcase, as we said, the oꦺnly thing that's been confirmed so far is more in💜fo on Pikmin 4.

That hasn't stopped fans from theorizing, however, so if any of these predictions end up being accurate - we're in for a treat. One of the biggest guesses we've seen so far is a Chrono Trigger remake of some kind. Fans want this so much that one person took it upon themselves to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:imagine a 2.🐻5D remake ⛎of the classic JRPG.

Elsewhere, rumors are also pointing to a new 2D Mario game, as well as remakes of other classic Nintendo games such as Super Mario RPG, and maybe even some 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Le𝔍gend of Zelda:🐠 Tears of the Kingdom DLC. You should always go into these things with an open mind🎃 th♒ough as there's no telling what Nintendo currently has up its sleeve.

You'll be able to find all of the announcements on our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch games list soon enough.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> A 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Direct has been confirmed for Wednesday, June 21, largely focused on information about 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch games for 2023.

Nintendo announced the news on Twitter, telling fans to "tune in on June 21 at 7:00 am PT for a Nintendo Direct livestream featuring roughly 40 minutes of information focused mainly on Ninte✤ndo Switch titles launching this year, including new details on Pikmin 4."

Across time zones, 7am PDT translates to 10am EDT and 3pm BST. You'll be able to catch the stream on Nintendo's YouTube channel, or you can bookmark this pag▨e and watch the video𓆉 embedded below.

Pikmin 4 is the by far the largest first-party Nintendo game scheduled for launch in 2023, and outside of a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:few trailers, we've seen very little of what to expect from it. 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Eve♍rybody 1-2-Switch! 🌠is also set to launch soon, and it's l💎ikely we'll see more if it here.

Beyond that, we're in the realm of hopes and dreams. Remasters o🐓f Wind Waker and Twilight Princess have been rumored for years, and could finally appear here. Fans might also have their fingers crossed for some morsel of information on 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Metroid Prime 4 - or heck, that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:long-awaited Detective P𒐪ikachu sequel - but given how unlikely t🦩hose games are to release in 2023, you might not want 🌄to hold your breath.

As ever, Nintendo fans have spent the entirety of the last few weeks desperately looking for a c꧂lues about 🍸a new Direct broadcast. Historically, we tend to get a major Nintendo Direct every June, though those broadcasts are typically tied to E3. It seems that even if the company dodged the unofficial 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:E3 2023 schedule this year, it still has something to show us.

If you're looking for something to play right now, these are the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Nintendo Switch games you can get into.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> A Nintendo Direct hasn't been♋ announced just yet - but that hasn't stopped fans from theorizing that we could be due for one very soon.

Now that we're officially in summer game showcase season (aka Not-E3), a lot of people are keeping a close eye on Nintendo hoping that they'll announce some kind of event soon. Nothing concrete has been revealed yet, but there's a few reasons as to why people think we&aposꦛ;re due for a Nintendo Direct soon.

First of al🔥l, as pointed out by (via ), the Nintendo Direct webpage has seeminꦯgly been updated over the last couple of days. This probably wouldn't seem like too big of a deal, but as pointed out by the sources above, this kind of thing tends to happen before the event's live stream goes live.

Now that 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been released, the next big first-party title is Pikmin 4 - which is set to release in July. After this, we have no idea what 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch games are on the way fr💜om Nintendo, so it would make sense for the com🐲pany to want to give fans something to look forward to for the rest of the year.

Not to mention the fact Nintendo ten🏅ds to host some kind of presentation each summℱer, whether it's a partner showcase, indie direct, or game-specific event. In fact, the last time we got to see what Nintendo has in the pipeline was back in February 2023, so it's about time that we got another update from the developer.

There's also been reports of "early rumb💃lings" of a Nintendo Direct soon from industry insider Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb. According to , he's heard that Nintendo is planning some kind of event in July. However, he isn't sure what kind of showcase it'll be (eg🅘: partner direct, mini direct, etc.)

Just like the website refresh claim above, it's best to take this with a grain of salt. However, it's pretty much guaranteed that we'll be hearing from Nintendo before the end of the year at some p♓oint. We just need to be patient.

While we wait to hear from Nintendo, find out what other showcases are going on this week with our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:E3 schedule

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be getting two brand new Legendary creatur🅘es very soon.

Earlier today on February 27, a new Pokemon Presents showcase aired, revealing a brand new fe🤡ature for both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Both games are getting brand new Legendary creatures, but this time they're known as Paradox Legendaries, for some reason.

Pokemon Scarlet players will be able to find Walking Wake (a Suicune), while the new Legendary creature for Pokemon Violet players is called Iron Leaves (a Virizion). Both of these creatures, when available, will only be♛ able to be captured through the Tera Raid Battles in both games.

We don't know when the new Tera Raid Battles will be kicking off, but it should be very soon. The Pokemon Presents showcase sa♉id that both Paradox Legendaries would be making their debut in Scarlet and Violet after maintenance was complete, so look out for an official announcement at some point later today on February 27.

Elsewhere for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, new DLC expansions were revealed for the t🌟wo games. The Teal Mask is part one of the DLC story, ဣand will be available laꦇter this year in Fall 2023, while The Indigo Disc will be rounding out the expansion storyline a little bit later on in Winter 2023.

In part two of this new DLC, you'll become an exchange student⛎ at another academy, opening up the way for brand new characters and creatures alike. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet might've launched last year, but 2023 looks set to be huge for both games, with the new Paradox Legendaries and two DLC instalments.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> After reports earlier this year that all ꧒of the 'Big Three' console makers would be skipping E3 2023, one of them has fi🦹nally made it official: Nintendo won't be at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.

As Nintendo tells in a statement: "We approach our involvement in any event on a case-by-case basis and are always considering various ways to engage with our fans. Since this year’s E3 show didn’t fit into our plans, we have made the decision to not participate. However, we have been and continue to b💟e a strong supporter of the ESA and E3."

The caveat here is, of course, that we don't know how Nintendo is skipping E3. This statement certainly makes it easy to assume Nintendo won't have any booth space at the physical E3 show, but ev💮en if the company's not directly participating in the event, we could still see a Nintendo Direct showcase during that time frame.

Of course, the rumors have it that Nintendo is skipping E3 because it simply doesn&♉apos;t have enough games to🉐 show, which could certainly hamper its ability to put on an exciting summer Direct. E3 officially kicks off on June 13, and by that time every announced Switch title save Pikmin 4 and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Metroid Prime 4 will already have been released. The publisher could have something secret up its sleeve - here's where I put on my clown makeup to joke about a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Switch Pro - 🧜but it&apo🌃s;s tough to imagine what that might realistically be.

What actually counts as E3 is now the real question as we try to figure out what to make of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:E3 2023 schedule. We know 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Xbox has a summer showcase planned, but we don't know if it's connected to E3. Ubisoft said that it's going to E3 "I🔴f" the show happens, well after the show had already been confirmed. How many press conferences will or won't beꦐ part of the traditional E3 week? Hopefully we'll learn soon𒁏.

For now, these are the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch games you need to know about.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> A new Nintendo Direct will bring us the "final" 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer in two weeks, bu♔t Nintendo is saying this event will feature "no game information" even as rumors of a Mario Switch continue to circulate.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie ♏Direct will broadcast on March 9 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm GMT, and will feature the premiere of the "final trailer" for the film. Thꦫe teaser image focuses on the Mario karting action, as Mario leads a number of racers over Rainbow Road with a blue shell in pursuit. Nintendo says "no game information will be included in this Nintendo Direct."

It's odd to see this broadcast set for March 9 instead of March 10, since Nintendo has typically done a pile of Mario-related announcements and promotions on MAR10 Day. Over the past few years, March ♋10 has seen discounted games, Mario-themed events for titles like Mario Kart Tour and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and the announcement of new Lego Mario sets.

With the Mario movie coming,▨ fans are expecting something notable for MAR10 Day, and rumors of a new Switch bundle have been gaining traction over the past week. A GameStop employee of a $300 Switch bundle set to release on March 10. While Zelda fans were initially hopeful that this would be a Tears of the Kingdom Switch, a prolific tech and gaming leaker has put out word of a Mario Switch due out on March 10.

According to billbil_kun, this bundle will feature a red Switch console, a digital cod♛e for Super Mario Odyssey, and "someth𒐪ing related" to the Mario movie. The bundle will be priced around €269, at least in France.

Our list of the 15 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Mario games might as well be a list of the 15 greatest platformers of all time.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> The Nintendo Direct February 2023 showcase is done and dusted, with almost 50 minutes of updat𓄧es, reveals and more.

Let's🧸 recap everything we saw, starting with the biggest r♏eveals:

You can read all the details as they happened below, including our (mostly wrong) 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Dir𝔍ect February 20🎀23 predictions below.

As has been fairly common from Nintendo when announ🍃cing the Nintendo Directs of the recent past, it has gone out of its way to try and set some expectations ahead of time. Notably, the initial announcement for the new Nintendo Direct states in no uncertain terms that the event will be "mostly focused on Nintendo Switch games launching i🐻n the first half of 2023."

Technically, this doesn't mean there isn't going to be a surprise or two included in the announcements, ⭕but it does mean we should really expect more from what's coming between now and June 2023. Given that, there's one partᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚicular title that stands out from the rest…

ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM

Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Here is what we currently know about The Legend of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

 • It is the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
 • It takes players into the skies.
 • It is set to release on May 12, 2023.

…and tha🌟t's roughly it. Despite the fact that the new Zelda title releases in just three short months, there's been essentially no significant amount of explicit information released by the company. Pretty much everything at this point is speculaꦬtive at best with question marks hanging over every aspect.

As our own Ali Jones argues, this Nintendo Direct must go big on Zelda. It's such a beefy event that it seems like the starsꦡ have finally aligned for a full-on rev𓆉eal of whatever it is that Nintendo has been hiding all this time.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER 2

Octopath Traveler 2

Octopath Traveler 2, the sequel to Octopath Traveler, is coming to Nintendo Switch on February 24. Given the upcoming release, it seems only꧑ natural to assume thatಌ at least some of the Nintendo Direct's time will be spent on it.

Lending this further credence is the fact that the announcement didn't explicitly state that it would be all about 🍸first-party Nintendo games, and Octopath Traveler 2 is from Square Enix. It seems likely that a gameplay showcase of some kin🧸d might feature within.

ADVANCE WARS 1+2: REBOOT CAMP

Advance Wars

It's still radio silence from Nintend🐻o when it comes to Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. W﷽hile it had initially been set to release back in 2021, it was delayed once for improvements and then delayed further due to the Russian war with Ukraine. Given that the war is ongoing, and Nintendo has made no indication of exactly when to expect the rebooted Advance Wars compilation, it's hard to say whether today's Nintendo Direct will or won't include it.

Surel꧃y Nintendo can't sit on a completely finished Nintendo Switch game fromꦇ an iconic franchise forever… right?

PIKMIN 4

Pikmin 3 Deluxe

Beyond a big Zelda blowout, the title with the highest probability of showing up and having a release date announced during the Nintendo Direct seems to be Pikmin 4. Even before the official announcement of the Nintendo Direct, a retailer listing for Pikmin 4 cropped up online indicating a May 23 release.

Will May 23 be the official date? It's hard to say as retailer listings are notoriously hit-and-miss when it comes to getting it right. Will Pikmin 4 get a release date today? ꦉThat seems more certain.

METROID PRIME 4

Metroid Dread trailer

Let's first and foremost acknowledge that video game development takes a long time, and doing it right can take even longer. Nobody here is claiming that making these things are easy or even straightforward. OK, with that out of the way, it has also been over four years at this point since Metroid Prime 4 restarted development.

If ever there was a time to lift the veil on the long-awaited title, it seems like in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the wake of a reduced profit forecast might be a good idea. It does seem a bit unlikely that Nintendo would reveal and release a ne෴w Metroid between now and June, but we live i💙n hope.

BAYONETTA ORIGINS: CEREZA AND THE LOST DEMON

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon

A somewhat cutesy t🌳ake on the Bayonetta series, and an origin story to boot, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is almost certainly set to make an appearance during today's Nintendo Direct. It's known that the game takes place long before Bayonetta became, well, Bayonetta, and that it will involve solving puzzles and fighting fiends, but this latest Nintendo Direct should include the best look yet at whatever the game actually includes.

POKEMON SCARLET AND VIOLET

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

While it is known that there are updates waiting in the wings for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it seems unlikely that Nintendo will share anything during the Nintendo Direct about them. If you're at all familiar with the cadence of these things, you'll k☂now that Pokemon-related aꦅnnouncements are often relegated to their own events, and with Pokemon Day 2023 swiftly approaching on February 27, it seems more likely that there will be news then rather than here and now.

Just under an hour to go!

Are you ready for the hype train?

SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY 2

Super Mario Odyssey

With the animated 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Super Mario Bros. Movie on the horizon, it seems like a hugely missed opportunity to not have a Mario game coincide with it. Unfortunately, and as GamesRadar+ Global Editor-In-Chief Sam Loveridge notes in our predictions, there's nothing 🐠really tangible to suggest that a sequel to Super Mario Odyssey could be announced…

But that won't k♏eep stalwart fans from getting their hopes up regardless. Which, honestly, good for them. It&a🎃pos;s good for there to be a bit of completely unrealistic hope in the world.

WHAT HAPPENED AT THE LAST DIRECT?

Anna

As a reminder, the last significant Nintendo Direct back in September 2022 officially gave The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom its name and release date, revealed Fire Emblem Engage and Octopath Traveler 2, and officially showed off ꧒Pikmin 4 as coming this year. Given how long people waited for the Breath of the Wild sequel, it wasn't exactly beefy but still satisfying.

WHAT HAPPENED LAST FEBRUARY DIRECT?

Splatoon 3

Prior to that, 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:the February 2022 Nintendo Direct revealed Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, a new (since-missed) Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boไot Camp release date, the reveal of Mario Stri♓kers: Battle League, more on Splatoon 3, and much more.

With howꦯ long today's Nintendo Direct is, there's a good chance that it would be more like the February 2022 one with a bunch of smaller announcements but equally as good a chance that a significant chunk is taken up by The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

HOLLOW KNIGHT: SILKSONG

Hollow Knight: Silksong

It's a new Nintendo Direct, which means there's a renewed request from fans for more on Team Cherry's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Hollow Knight: Silksong. While these desperate pleas are a common refrain for e🌳very Nintendo💦 Direct, there's at least some indication that this will, in fact, finally be the one.

Essentially, it is understood that Hollow Knight: Silksong is set to release before June 2023. Given that this Nintendo Direct is explicitly about video games releasing on Nintendo Switch by that point, it would seem naജtural to conclude that Silksong would be there – and hopefully with a firm, definitive release date.

30 MINUTES TO GO

What snacks we rocking?

E3 SKIP RUMORS

E3

It's been previously reported that Nintendo is skipping the new-and-improved E3 later this year, and that the company might not even have enough major releases to show if it did atte🔯nd. It's unclear whether this is true, but it might also be a moo🐷t point.

Increasingly, big d๊evelopers and publishers have been skipping major trade events that might have skewed towards the press in favor of simply hosting their own digital versions. The Nintendo Direct itself, as a construct, is a perfect example of this bypassing. Even if Nintendo does completely skip out on summer showcases hosted by others, it doesn't necessarily mean anything as the company continues to march to the beat of its own drum.

SWITCH PRO RUMORS

Nintendo Switch OLED preorders

It is impossible to have a Nintendo Direct without also considering whether the long-running 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Switch Pro rumors will actually pan out. At some point, it is clear that Nintendo will announce a successor to the Nintendo Switch, and if the pipeline of upcoming major games is really as thin as the reports make it 🐈out to be it certainly seems like it might be sooner rather than later. Wh꧒at that might look like, and when it might actually get announced, is anyone's guess, but there is always the chance that today really is the day.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> If you're wondering how to watch the February 2023 Nintendo Direct, we've got you covered𒆙.

Just like it does every year, Nintendo has announced it is hosting another Nintendo Direct this February. This showcase is set to feature 40 minutes worth of announcements and reveals which are "mostly focused on Nintendo Switch games launching in the first half of 2023" - you know what that means Legend of Zelda fans. Ahead of the big event, why not check out our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Direct predictions.

To watch the showcase live, fans should head to the official Nintendo on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 2PM PST / 5PM EST / 10PM GMT. Y♌ou can also bookmark this page and come back to it at the time above as we've embedded the very same video just below.

So what should we expect to see during this direct? Well, as we know Nintendo is "mostly" planning to show games that are launching in the first half of 2023, so a lot of the entries in our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch games list are likely to appear during the showcase. This would include games like Octopath Traveller 2, Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe, and the one we've all been waiting for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - which is due to release on May 12, 2023.

It's important to remember though that the announcement made by Nintendo specifically says "mostly" so there's always a chance we'll get something none of us were expecting or something that's due to release at a much later date. One thing's for certain though, Hollow Knight: Silksong fans have probably already got their hopes up.

Find out what other non-Nintendo games we have to look forward to with our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:new games 2023 list.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> A new Nintendo Direct has been announced, and it's airing tomor🉐row.

🐎The showcase marks the company's first showcase this year, taking place on February 8 at 2pm PT/5pm ET/10pm GMT. All and all, it's set to last for roughly 40 mi🍒nutes in total.

As for what we can expect from Nintendo's forthcoming showcase, one game that immediately springs to mind is 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingꦜdom. Considering we're now just a few months away from the sequel launching on May 12, it's about time Nintendo took us dee🧔per into the game's inner ✨workings with an extended look at gameplay, or a new trailer at the least.

Elsewhere, a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询꧙:Pikmin 4 release date was listed byඣ a retailer for later this year in May earlier this week. If this relea๊se date proves to be genuine, Nintendo will likely both show off new footage or a trailer for the long-awaited sequel in the new Direct, ♏as well as reveal the release date for Pikmin 4.

This 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Direct was🐽 rumored last week from a few sources around the internet. One point, interestingly enough, was that a Walmart employee claimed to have received promotional material for the Advance War 1+2 collection, outlining a release later this month in February. We could see the two remastered games at the showca🗹se later this week.

Check out our 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:upcoming Switch games guide for a full look at everything Nintendo has scheduled throughout the year.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> Undertale creator Toby Fox has revealed which music he's composed for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Last week we were treated to a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:brand new Pokemon Presents which debuted new details on Pokemon Scarlet and Viol✨et, and yester🦹day on August 10, Toby Fox unveiled news of his own. It turns out the Undertale creator and composer was recruited once again by Game Freak to write music for the two new games, specifically the "Terastal Raid battles" portion of Scarlet and Violet.

Listening to the music at the timestamp provided♔ by F✱ox above, the new music certainly sounds punchy and upbeat. The electronic foundations for the up-tempo track are accompanied by a single electric guitar wailing overhead, in what sure sounds the perfect accompaniment to some climactic Raid battles.

In a follow-up tweet, Fox reveals game director Shigeru Ohmor💯i provided Fox with a simple picture of a Lucario with a gigantic crystal on its head as inspiration for the new track. Based off just this information alone, Fox was tasked with composing the entire battle track, which was surely no easy feat.

Fox actually revealed earlier this year that both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet would feature music he composed, and that this time, his music "澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:is not optional" in either game. This is in contrast to music the Undertale composer constructed for Pok✱emon Sword and Shield, which the player could unfortunately🍎 very easily miss out on if they never visited the Battle Tower in either gam😼es.

Po♕kemon Scarlet and Violet release later this year on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.

Check out our full 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon Scarlet and Violet PokeDex guide for a walkthrough of all the new creatures confirmed for both new games so far.

In other Pokemon news, earlier this week we were treated with a 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon Presents, which shared a lot of new information about the upcoming Gen 9 game 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

If you missed it, here are some of the showcase’s highlights. First, we finally discovered that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s region is called Paldea. <![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> If you already have a balance board and a Wii U, Nintendo would like to give you a free month of 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Wii Fit U. The ꦺtrial program starting Nov. 1 will introduce users to the new and i🙈mproved fitness game via an eShop download.

If you decide to stick with it, you can unlock the full version forever by purchasing a Fit Meter and pairing it with your Wii U via its IR sensor. The meters will go on sale on Nov. 1 for $20, making for a very reasonably priced way to upgrade for previo♎us Wii Fit players.

Nintendo offered more details on the Fit Meter in a Nintendo Direct today (it's worth watching the beginning for the Direct Hand Motion workout, at the very least): the waist-worn device isn't simply a pedometer, but rather a three-dimensional accele🍨rometer and pressure sensor. This allows it to not only measure steps꧙ taken outside of the game but also intensity of movement, and to detect climbing stairs or steep slopes.

Wii Fit U will lau🌸nch as a packaged game on Dec. 13, 2013 and as a full game download on Feb. 1,🍃 2014. You'll need to provide your own Balance Board and Fit Meter if you opt for the latter.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]>

A new pair of 3DS apps will let Pokemon trainers sort, store, and transfer their Pokꦐemon more easily than ever before, for an unspecified annual charge.

Nintendo revealed the Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter 3DS apps in a Nintendo Direct earlier today: the former provides online storage boxes for up to 3,000 Pokemon, and the latter allows trainers to easily transfer Pokemon from 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Black and White and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Black and White Version 2 to the ☂Pokemon Bank (for compatibility reasons, it's a one-way trip).

Once uploaded, veteran Pokemon can be handled like any other collectible beast in the bank--sorted, searched, and downloaded en masse to 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Pokemon X and Y, and presumably any future titles. Plus, they'll be saf🌺e and sound if your game or system ever goes BASE jumping out of y𓂃our hands.

Previously, players needed two systems and an afternoon clear to trade a large number𒆙 of Pokemon from one game to another. Now they just need two apps--and the unspecified fee, though Bank will come with a free trial--which work with either the retail or eShop versions of the games.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> A Nintendo Direct broadcast today has solved the mystery of Sonic Lost Worlds, which was :ꦕ It's a new Sonic the Hedgehog adventure heading to 3DS and Wii U.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> In case you haven't heard, the highlights from today's Nintendo Direct include: a 3DS seq✃uel ♎to 1992's The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past; a 3DS sequel to 1995's Super Mario World 2🔴: Yoshi's Island; and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:a port of 1995's EarthBound (finally!) to the Wii U's virtual console. All familiar franchises, you'll notice. And yet, rather than the chorus of "where's the innovation?!?" that typically follows the announcement of a barrage🎃 of rehashes, instead what I'm seeing most is "shut up and take my money." Weird, right?

Why is it that the announcement of another new Zelda or Mario game is rarely met with, "ugh, this again?" The answer, I think, is because Nintendo has found itself in the enviable position of securing its futu꧃re by capitalizing on the past.

It makes sense that Nintendo relies so heavily on its decades-old franchises. Looking for a platformer? Mario. Action adventure? Zelda. A brawler? Super Smash Bros. Racer?﷽ Mario Kart. Each series is equated to a specific genre--there's no need for Nintendo to create a new world populated by new characters if it's going to confuse the role of one of its well-known bran🧔ds. You don't need to learn anything new; you'll just use the same tools in new ways. Learning curves are nearly nonexistent, but there's plenty of depth.

Each entry in those franchises offers a new experience that builds upon pre-established systems, all while remaining grounded in Nintendo's playful style and simplicity. It treats its games as games: They don't offer cinematic hand-holding experiences, but a series of obstacles that players must overcome. They're also built upon systems and rules that are easy to unde🌞rstand. Nintendo's genius lies in taking a basic concept--like, say, jumping--and finding interesting ways to turn it into a problem-solving mechanic, one that can be tweaked to remain fresh and challenging over time.

Note that an increase in challenge doesn't necessarily mean an increase in complexity. Platforming in today's games is the same as the platforming in games from 1985 (except now we can do it in 3D). It's interesting to me tha💦t Nintendo doesn't use new hardware to compete with Sony and Microsoft on the graphics front so much as it uses new hardware to develop unique ways to tweak the mechanics and tools it popularized more than 20 years ago. It's fresh experiences wrapped in familiar skins that keeps us coming back for more.

Every console generation will see a new Link take up the Master Sword to face the evil Ganon--but this time he can flatten out Paper Mario-style to travel along a wall in 2D. It doesn't matter that the same hero will face the same villain because the struggle between good and evil is presented in a manner that is familiar and easy to digest. Nintendo's focus on simplicity not only appeals to 🐽a wide audience, but also tends to make its games feel timeless.

That's one of the major reasons Nintendo has such a loyal fanbase. It's why its franchises are household names. And I'd wager that's also why the recent announcement of yet another Zelda and Mario game was met with cries of "shut up and take my money"ꦅ rather than contempt.

Some of the most exciting news out of today's 3DS-focused Nintendo Direct presentations doesn't relate to Nintendo's handheld at all. Rather, it seems that Nintendo's home console DLC plans have stepped up a gear, with the announcement of New Super Luigi U for 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:New Super Mario Bros. U.

The goliath DLC removes Mario from the equation, bringing the other brother in as hero with his own set of levels to explore. The most impressive part of this news is that the DLC will replace eacℱh and every one of the more than 80 levels on the New Super Mario Bros. U map with a new one, making this add-on near enough the equivalent of a whole new game. The player will be able to switch between t✅he game's original content and the New Super Luigi U. DLC at will.

Details on the release date and pricing for the New🤡 Super Luigi 🦩U. DLC will be on the site as soon as they emerge.

The next Zelda will "ꦉget back to basics," series director Eiji Aonuma revealed in today's . Aonuma didn't mention specifics about the next Zelda game coming for Wii U, but he did address its driving themes.

"Our mission in de𒅌veloping this new Zelda game for Wii U is quite plainly to rethink the c𝕴onventions of Zelda," Aonuma said.

"I'm referring to things such as the player is supposed to complete dungeons in a certain order. That you are supposed to play by yourself, the things that we've come to take for grant♛ed recently."

That's a lot to take in at once! Every major Zelda title since the series made the jump to SNES has imposed a strict dungeon progression (not counting speedrun tricks), though the fi𒁏rst game fam𓆏ously left players to figure out their own path through Hyrule.

"We had actually worked on this kind of challenge with 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Skyward Sword, but we weren't able to put efforts in changing the linear structure of🐓 the game," Aonuma said.

Aonuma may be implying the next Zelda will have multiplayer, or it may just make good use of Miiverse (though the Gamepad could very easily serve as a for a ꦺsecond player).

𒐪"We want to set aside these 'conventions,' get back to basics to create a newborn Zelda so players today can enjoy the real essence of the franch♎ise."

Don't get your hopes up for too much more news on that front any time soon--Aonuma said the game is pretty far off, though we can look forward to the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:HD remake of The Legend of Zelda: Th🅷e Wind Waker until then.

<![CDATA[ Latest from GamesRadar+ AU in Nintendo-direct ]]> The Wii U's Panorama View tech demo - which allowed users to move the GamePad around in order to freely view a 360 degree video scen𝄹e as if it existed in the air around them - has evolved into a much cooler functional application.

Announced today during Nintendo's Japan-focused Nintendo Direct presentation, Google Maps will be coming to the Wii U with GamePad-enabled Street View functionality. While the console's resolutely n♚on-portable status will make the system of dubious use when navigating an actual journey, it will bring the '80s dream of home VR slightly closer to fruition. And at the very least users will now be able to browse for awkwardly-timed Street View shots of people peeing by the side of the road via the comfort of their own sofas.

No word on a western launch for the service yet, but with a European Nintendo Direct scheduled for later in the day, hopefully some news will be forthcoming soon. The Japanese version launches in January, and w♚ill be free until March, after which point it will come with a charge. The origin🍌al Panorama View demo is also heading to the Japanese eShop next year.

Thanks, .

The Wii U comes in two flavors with very different storage--but according to new information released by Nintendo, digital enthusiasts will likely need more room regardless. Nintendo broke down storage op♛tions for the new console in its Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcast (translated by ) last night.

The first thing to remember is that formatted storage units always differ in memory from their advertisements. So the 8 GB Basic Wii U actually has 7.2 GB to work with, and the 32 GB Deluxe Wii has🔴 29 GB. Then we need to factor in space for its operating system: 4.2 GB of it.

This leaves about 3 GB available on the Basic and 25 GB on the Deluxe. Now when we take into account game sizes, with 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:New Super Mario Bros. U weighing in at about 2 GB and 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Nintendo Land at 3.♏2 GB, we see that the Basic really is basic when it comes to memory: just enough space for the former but a bit too tight for the latter.

We don't know how much space other downloadable games will take up, but W♊ii U discs reportedly hold 25 GB, so a game that fills a disc entirely will also fill a Deluxe Wii U.

That's where external memory comes in: the Wii U can support external hard drives up to 2 TB large, though they need either an external power source or a Y cable to receiv꧙e proper power. Nintendo of America vice president of sales and marketing Scott Moffitt told memory was intentไionally limited to avoid overcharging non-digital customers.

"[P]rices on memory have come way down and it's really affordable. For gamers who want and need that in their system, it's very cheap and inexpensive to add that on, so for us it didn't make a lot of sense to force all gamers to buy a system with high levels of memo🌳ry when some of those gamers have no intention of downloading games or of utilizing that," Moffitt said. "So we chose a str♐ategy that offered a better value to consumers, allowed us to have a price point that was really affordable and accessible and not force people to pay for something that they weren't going to use."

If you expected Nintendo to announce a new 3DS model at this year's E3, they decided to make you wait just a bit longer. During tonight's Nintendo D🐟irect livestream, Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata unveiled the upgraded 3DS, entitled the Ninꦰtendo 3DS XL.

This heftier model features a much larger top screen, measuring at 4.88 inches, as well as a bigger lower touch screen sized at 4.18 inches. Strangely, it also seems to be missing a second analog stick. The new model will come with three color choices, depending on your region: plain white, red and black, or black and silver for Japan and Europe; pure black, blue and black, and red and black for the US. It will also boast a longer battery life than the 3DS, clocking in at 3.5 to 6.5 hours with 3DS games and 6 to 10 hours for DS games. An AC adapter will not be included with the unit in Japan, but it will be compatible with the current AC adapter (and it'll come with one in other territorieꦕs).

Known as the Nintendo 3DS LL in Japan, this model will start retailing in Europe and Japan on July 28th for 18,900 yen. The US will get the 3DS XL a bit later on August 19th for $199.99.
