The focus of the 1.0 launch will be the true ending to Melinoë's story, Supergiant says, w𝄹ith no plans for "additional regions, encounters, abilities, and so on," though there will be another polish and balance pass on Boons and abilities. Once this is all finalized, the devs can also add achievements to the game, and the good news is "you will not need to start from the beginning" to earn them.

Hera's new Extended Family boon is an easy trade-up for newly nixed Nasty Comeback. With Ares now specializing in so-called "revenge" boons – blessings that punish foes whenever Melinoë takes damage – it makes more sense for Hera to zero in on bestowing her queenly gifts elsewhere. Extended Family rewards the player for diversifying their godly portfolio, boosting Mel's damage by one percent per god whose boons you have accepted on a given run. It's a nice way to sweeten the deal and encourage broadening my Early Access horizons, but I was especially impressed to discover that Zeus' retooled Thunder Rush makes a nice replacement for my beloved Smithy Sprint. Pair all of this with Ares' boons showing a penchant for mercilessly amped up damage output, and suddenly I have four new family favorites. Immediately, though, I've become wary. Hera, Zeus, Ares, and Hephaestus have proven flat out deadly when combined, and even though I have only made it through to the final confrontation on Olympus this one time, I'm already concerned for which of my right-hand boons might be on Supergiant's chopping block. Especially if they're reading this.

It's keeping me on tenterhooks, but just like a mid-season cliff-hanger, the aspect of not knowing is what keeps me coming back for more Hades 2. My laptop gets worryingly creakier by the day, and I know the full story will be saved for the official v1.0 launch, but getting to experience so many iterations of the sam🍬e game is a unique opportunity that can only be granted through Early Access – and, more specifically, through our most benevolent deities at Supergiant Games.

While none of our games have ever been subject to SAG-AFTRA contracts for a variety of reasons, we wish SAG-AFTRA the best in their negotiations to compel larger signatory studios to provide the kinds of protections we think actors deserve."

The last two days have reminded me why Hades never fails to pull me back in, no matter how much time has passed – in this case, almost five months – since my last run. Those bad boys have seen me through more completed runs than any other weapon in Zagreus' arsenal, allowing me to lean into my love of up-close melee combat bolstered by truly disgusting dash builds. I've long wished the same brawler's fate for Zag's little sister, and now, I feel that hope flicker in my stomach once more.

After testing it out, I'm pleased to announce that yes, Mel is officially a fistfighter worthy of entering the ring with the likes of Mike Tyson. Part jetpack, part rocket launcher, part hard-hitting melee machine, the Black Coat is a weapon I never knew I needed so much in Hades 2. Picking up a new piece of gear is always a bit of a struggle for me in roguelikes, especially when I already have 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:such a clear favorite in the Sisters Blades' Aspect of Artemis. I soon remember that with Hades 2 still being in Early Access, though, this splendid gift comes with a mean tradeoff. I take to the Black Coat's moveset like a shade to the River Styx, but now, I'm left grappling with the sad f🗹act ♛that my favorite boon has been removed from the game. It's moments like these that make Early Access worthwhile. Now, I can give myself a new challenge: how can I maximize the potential of this new item while experimenting with retooled boons?

First, I start out with the basics. Hephaestus' definitely overpowered boss-melter Smithy Sprint is no more, and after being thoroughly underwhelmed by its less potent replacement, I decide to take a chance on another divine entity. Hera's Hitch boons have always been a staple when it comes to clearing rooms of foes quickly, with one of the strongest ♛being her sprint. Nexus Sprint applies Hitch to all enemies you run past in a given encounter, chaining them and allowing you to deal a perඣcentage of damage to all Hitched foes by attacking just one. Pair that with the Black Coat's jetpack-like traversal that lets Mel effortlessly weave across the screen, I already have a recipe cooking up in my mind.

Next uꦿp, Hestia. I luck out by finding two Hestia chambers in Ephyra, going with Smolder Ring and Natural Gas to turn my Casts into burning 🐽rings of death. Running into Apollo later on and selecting his Super Nova boon makes my Casts expand in size, engulfing even more enemies in a fiery inferno as I run around and Hitch them together. The result? Truly devastating. The luck of the gods truly feels on my side during this run; finding a Heroic tier Nasty Comeback deals a blistering 1250% damage back at my attackers after Mel takes some herself, Dying Wish damages all Hitched foes after one of them is slain, and Apollo's vampiric Self Healing boon offsets incoming damage by recovering 30% HP whenever Mel gets hit. What did I tell you? This build is an unexpected winner. Or so it seemed. Sadly, my two remaining Death Defiances let me down in the fight against Prometheus, his blasted eagle gobbling each one up like so many regenerated livers before it. 

The Black Coat did not lead me to victory this time around, but it's still showing promise as one of the best Nocturnal Arms in the whole game. True, I'm still working through exactly what its omega attack can actually block (note: not said eagle's AOE onslaughts) and I really think those rocket launcher specials ought be a little more targeted and precise, but I am already sold on how powerful the latest Hades 2 weapon can be. How will it evolve over the course of the game's development, I wonder? The answer is, like all things🔯 Hades, in the hands of the Fates. Or, you know, Supergiant. 

Here's how Hades finally helped me fall in love with roguelikes.

The in-progress roguelike took Melinoe to a new region, gave her a new jetpack-gauntlet weapon, and expanded its pantheon of gods further in 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:last week's Olympus Update, but the titular region seems to have kicked everyone's butts a bit too hard as the studio is now walking back some of that challenge. You need to be strung along by the promise of something small and satisfying to destroy in big games l♏ike these, and Hades 2 was seriously lacking in the all-important pot-smashing department, but patch six is thankfully making amends. "You now can break urns and other objects when you Sprint into them," the game's newest explains. Hurray.

Elsewhere, the sixth patch is full of the usual big fixes, weapon tweaks, minor text changes, and miscellaneous menu rejigs that we've come🤪 to expect while Superg💜iant Games continues to work on its next major early access update set to come out sometime in early 2025.

Best weapons and Boons for beating Prometheus in Hades 2

• Apollo – Blinding Sprint: Being able to sprint faster helps a lot and you can apply Daze to Prometheus, which’ll up your defenses a little and work nicely with Back Burner.
• Athena – Divine Dash: Athena’s almighty deflection abilities can be just one of many incredibly useful defensive abilities against Prometheus.
• Hephaestus – Volcanic Strike, Volcanic Flourish, or Stamp Rush: Any of these Hephaestus Boons are excellent to have because they all deal massive damage in a single instance.
• Hermes – Greater Evasion: Substantially increasing your dodge chance might just save your life against some of Prometheus’ most devastating area-of-effect attacks.
• Hermes – Nitro Boost: A faster sprint and a barrier to block damage helps a lot against Prometheus’ harder-to-dodge attacks.
• Hestia – Hot Pot: Increases your dodge chance and doubles the chance if the enemy is afflicted with Scorch, so you’ll need another Hestia Boon for this to work well, such as Flame Strike.
• Hestia – Soot Foot: Sprinting destroys nearby ranged projectiles and inflicts Scorch on the enemy that fired them. This’ll help with Hot Pot!
• Zeus – Heaven Strike or Flourish: Again, the best Boon out of these two depends on which weapon you pick, but being able to apply Blitz will up your burst damage a lot.

Hades 2 Prometheus tips

With no cover in a tiny arena, and lots of big, high-damage attacks, Prometheus is not an easy boss to face. With the right Boons and weapons, you should have your defences andꦺ damage covered, but you still need to understand how his attacks work to successfully evade them and stay alive:

• Watch out for the eagle!: As you will have likely experienced in your journey up Mount Olympus, the eagle’s pecking attacks are no joke and you must pay close attention and dodge whenever the eagle is flying around.
• Pay attention to telegraphed attacks: Despite being the Titan of Foresight, many of Prometheus most powerful moves are prominently telegraphed, giving you a good chance to evade them. The issue is, if you can’t evade them, you will take massive damage, which is why this boss fight can be so punishing.
• Don’t let his lingering fire attacks block off large parts of the arena: The boss fight arena in Olympus is really small compared to others, and Prometheus’ lingering fire tornados and fire wave attacks can make it feel much smaller. When Prometheus starts charging his fire wave attack (look for the flashing red bar that he aims directly at you), you should position yourself in a way that it takes out the least amount of space possible.
• When Prometheus jumps out the arena to attack, remember the sequence of red bars: During the boss fight, the Titan will jump to the corner of your screen and will charge up several fire wave attacks, as shown by the flashing red bars that span the arena. You need to remember the positions of each bar and the sequence so that you can dodge accordingly when Prometheus does eventually unleash the fire. This attack is incredibly powerful and making a mistake here can easily cost you a run.
• Don’t push your luck when attacking up close: Prometheus has some brutal melee and area-of-effect attacks that make him tricky to fight at close-range. Ample dodging and knowing when to run away entirely is crucial to survival.

Where to get Hades 2 Adamant

Hades 2 Adamant is a resource found in the Mount Olympus region on the Surface path, and it’s mined using the Crescent Pick. Because Olympus is the third and final region on the Surface path, it’s difficult to get to, which makes Adamant hard to gather as well. Had⛦es 2's nocturnal arms are a varied, mystifying collection. The Witch's S𝔉taff helped me get the knack of Melinoë's magical abilities easily enough, and I gelled with the spitfire rapidity of the Sister Blades almost instantly. I'm even partial to the Moonstone Ax from time to time, despite my preference for speed over strength.

When I eventually unlocked the Argent Skull and Umbral Flames, though, I was immediately distrustful. The shotgun-like skull and its ascribed combat style did not appeal 🍌to me at all. Running around to pick up my three shells feels exhaustingly like collecting Zagreus' cast crystals in the first Hades, with some of them shooting out of bounds and remaini🔯ng unretrievable until the next chamber. Or maybe it's because I'm not a fan of ranged weapons in general, largely preferring to be up-close-and-personal in every roguelike I've played. That last reason is definitely what I didn't enjoy about the Umbral Flames. I found it all but impossible to properly aim those bouncing fireballs at the right targets, let alone make sense of their pinball movements across an already busy screen.

Everything changed when I finally started collecting Aspects. I'd already seen how powerful the changes could be when applied to other weapons – Artemis amps up the already devastating damage-per-second potential of the Sister Blades, Circ𝓀e buffs the staff's omega attacks, and Thanatos rewards evasive footwork with heftier damage while using the ax. Surely something could be done to remedy the issues I was facing with the Skull and Flames, too?

I sat myself down and had a word. I would master the argent skull and umbral flame🍨s, e꧙ven if just to prove that I'm not a three-trick weapons cache. To do so, I'd bring the tankiest build known to man and god(s).

Mathe-magics

I have one core rule in Hades: when in doubt, just sprint or dash. I use this knowledge to my advantage when constructing my ideal Argent Skull build🅠. 

First, I equip the Aspect of Persophone to turn Mel into an impervious cannonball of destruction during her omega special attacks. Then, I tur𓆏n to my ke♕epsakes to increase my odds of crafting an ideal boon build

I'd intended to go for a Hera-Hephaestus build, linking enemies together with Hitch to distribute the brute force effects of Blast and Vent among them. Things go swiftly to plan at first, especially after gaining my personal favorite sprint boon of all: Smithy Sprint. I am fairly certain I can solo most of the game with a strong cast boon and Hephaestus' sprint, but I hold myself back from relying on them entirely. Instead, I use my AOE bomb-like omega attacks to inflict Hitch on as many enemies as possible before barrelling into them with Smithy Sprint. I also become very well acquainted with Selene's Total Eclipsꦰe blessing, which proves a veritable boss-melter.

Things are going swimmingly until I start picking up a concerning number of Aphrodite boons. I'd been hoping for Hermes, Hestia, maybe even a chance encounter with Artemis, but much like Dionysu🌜s' Hangover status curse in the first game, I've never quite grappled with Aphro's Weak or Charm effects. That would soon change, because it turns out th🌄at Aphrodite's Rapture Ring is one of the best cast boons in Hades 2. By dragging all nearby enemies into its center, Rapture Ring creates the perfect bullseye for Melinoë' to crash into with Smithy Sprint or her omega special.

I was able to complete a full run with the Argent Skull on my fi🌟rst try, and now, it's beaten Lim and Oros as my favorite Hades 2 weapon. But what of the Umbral Flames? Well, I'm still working that one out. I'd read that Poseidon's Wave Flourish is excellent here, turning the flames' special attack into revolving water bombs that push enemies away, but I'm still not quite gelling with the markedly slower pace of the main attacks. Even with the Aspect of Eos at my side to buff them, paired with a Daedalus Hammer boon that makes specials inflict more damage-over-time, I really struggled to keep myself disciplined. I kept forgetting that the flames work best from a distance, and after burning all three of my Death Defiances during the Cerberus showdown, I conceded defeat to Eris at the foot of Olympus. Still, not bad for a first attempt, right?

Now that I've broken each weapon in somewhat, I plan to keep experimenting with the nocturnal arms as Early Access develops. Who knows? Maybe a future patch or key update will alter the Flames in such a way that I finally grow to love them? The hate-to-love evolution happened to me before in Hades with the 𓃲Adamant Rail, so until we reach full release, I'm happy to leave that probability to💫 the Fates.

On top of that, multiple aspects fo the Nocturnal Arms have been adjusted, with some reworked outrighꦿt. Further still, dozens of Daedalus Hammer upgrades have been reworked or removed, and replaced with all-new effects. Here are a few standouts from the laundry list of hamme﷽rs:

• Rapid Thrasher (Staff): new! All your Attacks become faster
• Mirrored Thrasher (Staff): new! All your Attacks hit twice, but you take more damage
• Flick Knives (Blades): new! Your Dash-Strike also fires several Special knives in a fan pattern
• Mega Spark (Flames): new! All your Attacks travel farther and deal more damage
• Dashing Heave (Axe): removed damage bonus; instead, it now hits twice
• Mega Driver (Skull): new! Your Specials travel farther and you take less damage while using them

It just keeps going. Multiple Hexes of Selene have been buffed (generally with reduced Magick requirements), several enemies have been strengthened as well, timers thankfully now pause in Charon's shop, and "you now can fully control the game using keyboard only if you rebind Attack and Special." It's a humongous patch that ought to dramatically shake up how the game feels, which is exciting to see so early in Hades 2's Early Access journey. I can't wait to see what they do with Boons i🔴n Patch 3.

Hades 2 turned one bug into a feature after a fan-favorite roguelike character unexpectedly yeeted themselves into the abyss.

Jason 'Thor' Hall, former Blizzard security specialist and indie developer behi🉐nd iconic RPG Heartbound, spotted something intriguing while browsing through his Hades 2 files. It seems as though Supergiant Games, the early access title's dev, deliberately left all of the game's code open. In a recent stream, Hall reveals this. "You ready to see something wild?" Sharing his screen, he shows how upon going through your official Steam foldꦜer into your Hades 2 files, you can find its "scripts" - all of the game's code.

Hall notes that it's not only accessible but that it's also written in Lua, a lightweight scripting language that allows for a painless modding experience. Furthermore, Supergiant's comments are all available to read alongside the code meaning that curious modders and players can better understand the dev team's process. "All of it is written in Lua," Hall explains while scrolling through Hades 2's scripts. "It has all the comments in it. All of it is exposed." He then declares that Supergiant has effectively made "the easiest 𝕴to mod game ever."

This is no novel phenomenon by any means, however - especially not for Supergiant. A fan on noted that players could easily edit Hades 2's files after discovering the same thing as Hall: the scripts were written in Lua and open to access via Steam's directory. Ot❀her users took to the post's replies to say that the original Hades functioned similarly. "It's the same𒁃 as the first game," one response reads. "I used to edit NPC spawn chances so I could progress their quest lines." Under Hall's own clipped stream, you'll find comments stating the same. "The first Hades did the same thing."

Supergiant Games itself addressed the topic back in 2020 during a Q&A, explaining that "many aspects of the game are easily moddable because the data is all exposed." The team's messages described how Hades players "can change all the text and all the numbers and add types of content to the game" due to its accessible scripts. Much to modders' delight, it appears that the same applies to the sequel. In Hades 2, you might sometimes be met on your adventures by Nemesis, known in greek myth as the personification of jealousy and the anger of the gods. Nem, who is keen to prove herself as superior to protagonist Melinoë,༒ will occ📖asionally strike out on her own attempt to overthrow Chronos, and sometimes you'll cross paths with her in a random encounter. After that, Nemesis will disappear further towards her goal, but as game director Greg Kasavin recalls, developer Supergiant was forced to react to a move that they didn't expect Nemesis to make.

"There was a bug where Nemesis just ran into a Chaos Gate," Kasavin explains to Edge magazine. While Melinoë tends to move through each encounter through a door at the end of the arena, sometimes, 🍨a gate will spawn in the floor, allowing her to slip between realms, speaking to the entity that sits at the creation of the universe. While Mel can dive between dimensions with relative ease, that's not something that Nem is supposed to be able to do.

"My immediate impulse was: 'no, let's disallow that'," Kasavin admits. "The story does not account for Nemesis going into Chaos. But then we were like, 'wait a minute, that's awesome'." Buoyed by the rule of cool,❀ Kasavin turned that bug into a narrative feature in the game, not only allowing Nemesis to enter chaos, but allowing  her, Melinoë, and Chaos themselves to acknowledge it with new voice lines.

"Every so often, we're surprised by🍎 the dynamism of these systems and then have to amke that decision of, like, should this even be allowed. Can we do the work to support this properly? As much as possible, we try to leave it and have it feel supported by the world of the game. These examples sometimes take time to merge, and to respond to. But that's the fun part of the process."

The likelihood of encountering Nemesis in the same room as a Chaos Gate seems very low, and the chance that she then chooses to enter that gate are even lower, given the other routes out of each encounter. But accounting for all those possibilities can help make a game very special - I'm reminded of Baldur's Gate 3, if nothing else. There's still some w🐻ay to g😼o before Hades 2 gets its full release, but the depth of syst🍬💫ems on display here is testament to something extremely good on the horizon.

Playing Hades 2 in Early Access is the best way to experience Supergiant's evolving roguelike.

Supergiant Games creative director and Hades 2 head Greg Kasavin says that the indie studio looked to how the community played through its original roguelike for inspiration on how to design the more recently released sequel. If you opted to delve deep into contracts and conversations in Hades or preferred to tackle content more relevant to the game's lore-rich mythos, you aren't alone. According to Kasavin, a substantial proportion of players diverged from the usual combat and progression-focused roguelike formula to instead enjoy the Underworld and its quirky inhabitants at their ꩵown pace. Moreover, all those unique styles of play actually helped shape Hades 2's production. Supergiant sought to make its sequel more player-oriented by providing "more opportunities to set your own goals" after noting how many of us deviated from a straightforward road to the final boss fight.

No matter which way you choose to play, "it doesn't mean that you failed." Kasavin describes how regardless of whether or not you "finish the run" and "reach the final boss" in Hades 2, your experience is as valid as any. The lead developer details how you can make "meaningful p🅺rogress in a different sort of way that is exciting to you personally" rather than only hacking and slashing your way through formidable foes or powering up as you may expect to do in a roguelike game. Whatever your own aspirations may be as you traverse the Underworld and beyond, Kasavin says that the devs "don't want the game to dictate those goals."

Whether you opt to battle your way through the dungeon crawler to take the Titan of Time on himself, mingle with ghosts and gods leisurely as you please, or do it all at once, Supergiant wants you to play Hades 2 your way without fear of failure as there isn't any "right" way. You might have heard already that Hades 2 is absolutely packed full of stuff. There's already 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:more than Hades 1 managed to fit in there, even when it was fully released. And yes, there's plenty to make it worthwhile to play in its current state. Nearly 30 hours in, I'm still surprised by new discoveries, still have recipes I'm sa🦩ving up for, and have a number of relationships to improve.

Myth in the making  

But there's more to it than that. You should play Hades 2 in Early Access for the same reason as Hades 1: because, thematically, it makes sense. The game's repeated tagline, Time Cannot Be Stopped, is currently true. I won't spoil anything here, but I don't need to - all you need to know is that t𒈔he game isn't yet finished. You can't kick Chronos out of the House of Hades and save the day. You have to experience the same purgatory as Melin𒈔oe, cursed to try over and over again and never succeed.

Whenever the game eventually gets its full release it will theoretically be possible to knock Chronos out in the very first run. It's not exactly very likely, given how Melinoe unlocꦏks new abilities and gets stronger through her repeated delves into the underworld, but it should be possible.

Right now, though, it isn't. And Melinoe getting up every night and trying anyway is a part of the story that won't always be around. For Zagreus in the first game, this added to his personal tenacity. He had a Sisyphean 🌺task (ironic, given that character's appearance in the game), but everything about him was grit and ambition. Even when he couldn't escape from hell, he made hell better for the people around him.

Things are subtly different for Melinoe. She's clearly tenacious, but she's not without her doubts. She's been learning her whole life how to defeat Chronos, but the reality is very different and she still struggles. But on the other hand, her journey is already more communal. She's surrounded by people who want to see her succeed, but who don't rush her. In particular, her mentor Hecate cautions 🎐patience whenever Melinoe has doubts. It's a sweet moment made more meaningful by the fact that it has, at the moment, a very literal basis. Melinoe does have to be patient, just like we𒐪 do.

And although Hades 2 feels more concrete than its predecessor did early on thanks to just how much of it there is, the myth of Melinoe that Supergiant is weaving isn't yet set in stone. This is another lovely resonance with the source material they're working with, which is fragmented and often contradictory, stories lying on top of stories. As thi♓s version of Melinoe changes, it will get to build its own mythology in a s🔯imilar way – one that is pretty much uniquely available through Early Access video games.

In most cases, I'm one of those people who like to wait for a game's full release before checking it out. But when f💜riends tell me that they're doing this with Hades 2, I have to disagree. In this case, Early Access isn't j🐠ust a way of testing the game. It's a part of what makes Hades 2 work, and it's the best way to experience it: layered as myth and full of failure.

The highlight? "You now can gather from any resource point once you have unlocked the corresponding Gathering Tool." Little wonder, then, that Supergiant Games spent plenty of time weighing up the pros and cons of a follow-up to its enormously successful underworld adventure. Best Hades 2 Aspects for each weapon

Weapon Aspects are neither easy or cheap to unlock and upgꦓrade, requiring specific, high-level resources that can be hard to obtain, so it's important to collect and improve the best ones:

• Best Staff Aspect – Aspect of Momus: Provides a way of getting some emergency healing which can be hugely useful in a pinch. It's also easy to craft as you only need resources from Oceanus and the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Hades 2 Scylla boss fight.
• Best Blades Aspect – Aspect of Melinoe: Reliable Backstab damage makes the Omega Attack for Lim and Oros very powerful. The Aspect of Artemis is close behind, offering superior Critical damage and a bit of damage mitigation but with less reliability and more risk, though you may prefer that.
• Best Axe Aspect – Aspect of Thanatos: While this Aspect relies on taking as little damage as possible, boosting your Critical chance can make the already high-damage strikes of the axe even more devastating.
• Best Flames Aspect – Aspect of Melinoe: The Umbral Flames are probably the worst weapon in the game right now, so it's worth just sticking with the default Aspect of Melinoe. I did find the Aspect of Eos to be quite a nice improvement, but not enough to make me consider using the weapons more than I must.
• Best Skull Aspect – Aspect of Persephone: The Argent Skull has three solid Aspects, but Persephone's amps up the power of the Skull's extremely good Omega Special, dealing lots of damage in a huge area. If you don't like the Omega Special, stick with the Aspect of Melinoe.

How to unlock Hades 2 Aspects

To gain access to Weapon Aspects at the Silver Pool in Hades 2, you need to cast the Aspects of Night and Darkness Incantation at the Crossroads Cauldron. In this menu, you can swap between any of the Aspects you've unlocked for the chosen weapon to suit your preferences, but you may also want to upgrade them.

How to upgrade Hades 2 Aspects

Some Aspects, particularly the default Aspects of Melinoe, get much better once they've been upgraded. All Aspects can be improved up to Rank V by spending even more resources via the Silver Pool menu under the 'Aspect Awakenings' tab.

Each weapons' Aspect of Melinoe is upgraded with varying amounts of two resources, with each subsequent Rank requiring more of one of those resources. However, all other Aspects are upgraded with Nightmares – a resou🐈rce that can only be obtained by defeating Guardian bosses as part of🅠 a Testament of Night challenge.

Sister Blades Aspects

• Aspect of Melinoe: Unlocked by default. Attacks and Specials gain bonus Backstab damage, causing them to deal more damage when hitting enemies from behind. Upgrading this Aspect further increases the Backstab damage bonus.
• Aspect of Artemis: 15 Silver + 1 Glassrock. While you Channel your Omega Attack, you have a chance to Parry (briefly block most types of direct attacks with a 15-second cooldown), then Riposte right after (become Impervious for 1 second and your next 9 strikes have a +50% Critical chance). Your Omega Attack is also faster. Upgrading this Aspect further increases the speed of your Omega Attack.
• Aspect of Pan: 1 Wool + 2 Shaderot. Your Specials seek foes in your Cast, and you can fire an extra blade when you Channel your Omega Special. Upgrading this Aspect increases the number of extra blades you can throw during your Omega Special.

Moonstone Axe Aspects

• Aspect of Melinoe: Unlocked by default. Recover faster after using your Attacks and Specials. Upgrading this Aspect further increases your recovery speed.

• Aspect of Moros: 2 Bronze + 2 Tears. Your Attacks linger for 6 seconds and explode if struck by your Specials. Upgrading this Aspect increases the damage of the explosions.
• Aspect of Eos: 2 Driftwood + 2 Golden Apples. Your Attacks grow bigger and stronger over 4 seconds, dealing 40% more damage when at their full size. They also return to you whenever you Sprint. Upgrading this Aspect increases the damage dealt by Attacks when fully grown.

Argent Skull Aspects

• Aspect of Melinoe: Unlocked by default. Your Attacks have more Power for each Shell fired and not yet retrieved. Upgrading this Aspect further increases the additional Power gained for each spent Shell.
• Aspect of Persephone: 1 Moss + 5 Poppies. Any damage dealt generates Glory (Makes your Omega Special last up to 5 seconds longer, firing continually while you have control). Upgrading this Aspect increases the amount of damage your Omega Special deals.

With Hades 2 patch 1, Supergiant says in , the devs are "looking for improvements we can make in the near term, in a way that makes Hades 2 betꦯter for everyone and come closer to realizing our goals." So far, two goals have been singled out. 

The first deals with resource gathering, which is one of Hades 2's bigger additions to that classic Hades gameplay loop. It sounds like the devs want it to always be a fun side goal, not a material grind that risks distracting from the action. "We want Hades 2 players to f꧑ocus on goals that are important to them, though don't want resource gathering to feel too frustrating, such as if you didn't bring the right gathering tool along for the ride," Supergiant says. 

The patch is also looking at the simple act of "getting around" – that is, how it feels to move around as Melinoë, particularly in her movement abilities. "It's important to us that Melinoë has her own distinct style, and for players to be able to navigate her battles and other interactions in a nimble, responsive, expressive way," Supergian𓂃t says. "We have ideas for how to improve her Dash and Sprint." 

One thing that probably won't be in this first patch is a big set of balance changes. Hades 2 is still fresh and players are still figuring out what's strong, so while Supergiant does "love making balance changes," it's "still gathering feedback and data that helps inform the kind of changes w🍒e like to make, so don't expect too many such changes just yet." 

The devs say they'll have finer details and "comprehensive patch notes" when the time comes, though there's no set timeline for Hades 2&ཧapos;s first update just yet. 

Dead Cells dev's Prince of Persia roguelike delayed to dodge Hades 2's surprise Early Access launch: "We are not prideful enough to ignore the implications of that."

How to unlock Hades 2 Familiars

You can unlock the ability to befriend Familiars in Hades 2 by casting the Faith of Familiar Spirits Incantation. However, revealing this Incantation at the Cauldron can be a real sticking point to getting Familiars as it seems to have two hidden requirements: you need to use the Tablet of Peace tool to compel a Lone Shade on at least two different runs, and you must beat Hecate with the Tablet equipped.

Speaking from experience, I did not get the Faith of Familiar Spirits Incantation after about 60 runs, but after using the Tablet of Peace a couple of times and beating the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Hades 2 Hecate boss fight, she gave me the Incantation. I can't confirm that the Tablet of Peace was definit💫ely the cause of this, but it seems highly likely – thanks to the various users in the Supergiant Games Discord! Note that you can have only one Familiar follower at a time, all Familiars are completely invincible and do not get attacked by enemies, and that you receive a Familiar's benefits only when it is your active Familiar.

All Hades 2 Familiars

• Frinos the frog: Melinoe's amiable amphibian is the first face you see upon returning to the Crossroads. You can craft two Witch's Delight treats at a time with the Beast-Loved Morsel alchemy recipe from the Crossroads Cauldron, which ꦫtakes 14 Encounte🥂r's worth of time to brew with the following ingredients:

• 1 Star Dust: Obtained by completing Chaos Trials from the Pitch-Black Stone in the Crossroads training area. Can later be acquired by trading 800 Bones for 1 Star Dust with the Wretched Broker.

If you've got one or more Witch's Delights in your inventory, go over to a Familiar, follow the 'Treat' button prompt, and give them another Witch's Delight. Your pet will gobble the treat and then the Familiar Bonds upgrade menu will appear with a list of three possible upgrades, letting you pick one to permanently apply to your Familiar. It doesn't matter which upgrade you pick either💝, as they all have no additional res🌸ource costs, including subsequent Rank II and III upgrades. Here are all the Familiar Bond upgrades available for Frinos and Toula:

• Frinos:
  • Life Bond: Frinos now provides 20 extra maximum health to Melinoe instead of 10
    • Rank II: Melinoe's Maximum health increases by 30

    • Rank II: The chance for Frinos to manifest a Lost Soul increases by another 25%

  • Strength Bond: Frinos now deals 10 damage when he hops on an enemy
    • Rank II: Hop damage increases to 20

Once you've picked an upgrade, the menu will close, and you'll have to attempt another run before you can offer another Witch's Delight for a Familiar Bond upgrade.

Best weapons and Boons for beating Scylla in Hades 2

Because the Scylla boss fight sees you facing three individual enemies, each with their own attacks and movesets, you need a bit of everything in the fight. Regarding weapons, there's no one-knife-fits-all that'll make taking down all three Sirens easy, though I found the sweeping attacks of the Moonstone Axe and explosive power of the Argent Skull to be quite effective. With that said, there's no optimal choice for beating Scylla and her bandmates, so you should use whichever of the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Hades 2 weapons you feel most comfortable with.

When it comes🔯 to Boons, there aren't many that are outright essential for this boss fight. Since you're fighting three very different🉐 enemies, you need a jack-of-all trades approach to make up for any weapon shortcomings, whether that's with added speed, burst damage, or a few debuffs. The only important Boons you should consider are ones that improve your Cast and Omega Cast – singer Scylla moves very slowly, and drummer Roxy doesn't move at all so your Omega Cast offers easy damage against these two:

• Apollo – Blinding Sprint: Sprinting fast will help you get around the arena quickly to avoid attacks and manoeuvre around the Sirens.

• Hephaestus – Volcanic Strike or Volcanic Flourish: Massively empowering your Attack or Special respectively will help you deal chunks of damage to each Siren as you zip around the arena.
• Hera – Nexus Sprint: Hera's Boons are pretty rare, but this is a good one to have since applying Hitch to all Sirens will mean you can chip away at them while only attacking one.
• Hermes – Saved Breath: Your Omega Cast uses less Magick with this Boon, helping you spam it.
• Hestia – Soot Sprint: Scylla and Jetty fire many projectiles, so destroying those to apply Scorch adds both protection and extra damage.
• Zeus – Lightning Lance: Lets you aim where you place your Cast and adds extra damage to it in the form of lightning strikes. Get Storm Ring too and empower your Omega Cast with even more lightning.

Hades 2 Scylla tips

None of the Sirens in the Hades 2 Scylla fight are especially dangerous on their own, but their attacks work together to trap you, limiting your damage opportunities. While the three Sirens share a health bar, each one can only take so much damage before becoming invulnerable or dying, so by focusing on particular ones to get them out the fight, you can make the battle easier. • Roxy is an easy target, but her attacks cover the whole arena: As the band's drummer, Roxy is doesn't move away from her kit to attack. To compensate, she uses massive area-of-effect attacks that take up the entire arena – basically if you see red on the arena floor, make sure you get out the way.
• Jetty is fast and annoying but deals little damage: Guitarist Jetty shreds on the strings but acts as more as a nuisance enemy to help Scylla and Roxy. She rapidly fires stunning blasts from her guitar and is also the most manoeuvrable of the Sirens.
• Use all the space in the arena: The arena for the Hades 2 Scylla boss fight is quite big, so make sure you use all the space to lure the Sirens away from each other, limiting the number of threats at any one time.
• Focus on Roxy, then Jetty, then Scylla: Since Roxy is the easiest target and uses dangerous arena-spanning attacks, she should be your first target. Start by luring Jetty and Scylla away from her, then rush in and pummel her with your weapon, Omega Cast, and Hex if you've got one until she becomes invulnerable. Next lure Jetty away from Scylla and stop the guitarist, then focus purely on Scylla.
• Watch out for the Featured Artist: Once their health bar is down to 50%, one Siren will become the Featured Artist, becoming empowered with new attacks and extra aggression. Focus on bringing down the Featured Artist first as they can be really dangerous, then get the last two Sirens.
• Run circles around Scylla when she summons reinforcements at the end: When only Scylla is left, she will summon a frightening number of Pinhead fish enemies that spawn almost constantly, making those last few hits on Scylla really difficult. As you run circles around her, try to deal damage with your Omega Cast and any are-of-effect weapon strikes to finish her off.

You see, the thing about Hades 2 is that it already feels like one of the best things I have ever played in the history of ever. I'm only 12.6 hours into it, according to my Steam account, but with every new biome provoking audible gasps, delighted whispers of "oh my god", and an ever-increasing pain in my upper back due to my inability to keep from leaning in to admire each artistic detail of it, I'm frankly in awe. It's hard to imagine how Hades 2 can possibly get any better, but I am more than excited for Supe🐼rgian🌞t to prove me wrong.

Spellbound

More furies. More NPCs. More incredible music. More🎀 unusual pets to confide in. It would be easy to encapsulate Hades 2's current standing in Early Access as providing more of the same, only differe🥀nt – but I think that would be an understatement of epic proportions.

In every meaningful way, Hades 2 is a prime example of how to make a sequel. It's also a feat in reworking a genre, complicating what's expected of a roguelike to show there'll be more to Melinoë's journey than simply 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:fli🐼pping the setting of Hades on its head. Perhaps it's the lim🍎its of my own imagination, but that was all I dared expect of Supergiant's latest at one point – especially for a game only just entering 🐻Early Access. Having played about 10 hours of the game during its technical test phase, I had expected the EA launch to feature exactly the same content. Somehow, playing the technical test has made each new discovery in Early Access even more exciting. I'm able to dispel the wards that keep me from the surface, meaning I'm not only battling down to the underworld, but up to my Olympian family. I'm unlocking more collectibles up here, too, from bronze to moss and other precious reagents needed for my cauldron decoctions down in Erebus. I even meet Homer's legendary cyclops Polyphemus, something that resembles a kraken, and the Heracles himself – Hercules, as you may know him. I'm drinking in each new find, from newly-unlocked Nocturnal Arms to keepsakes and NPC dialogue, and the fe🌠eling of total awe only mounts with each run.

That being said, I know the journey to a full Hades 2 release has only just begun. Hell, even the Hades 2 devs do😼n't know what the true 🥀ending will be since they've yet to write it. I guess it's all part of the Early Access experience, even though the devs have confirmed that there's 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:💖more of pretty much everything in Hades 2 compared to the first game already. That reassurance has convinced me that Hades 2 won't be leaving my game rotation anytime soon – 🎐if anything else can get a look-in, anyway.

How to survive on the Surface in Hades 2

The next step is to find a way to alleviate the Underworld curse on Melinoe. After your first run on the Surface, Speak to Moros when you return to the Crossroads to get another Incantation – Unraveling of a Fateful Bond. Once cast, this entirely removes the damage-over-time effect, letting you run through the Surface world without taking damage. Toౠ cast this Incantation, you need:

• 2 Lotus – A flower gathered in Oceanus.
• 2 Moss – Gathered on the Surface. There is always one Moss in the first area you arrive in when starting a Surface run.
• 2 Nightshade – Grown from Nightshade Seeds which can be dug up in Erebus.

Now that you no longer suffer the effects of the Hades family curse, it's time to battle Chronos' forces along the way to Olympus. Best weapons and Boons for beating Eris in Hades 2

When it comes to weapons, the Sister Blades are a top-tier choice, allowing Melinoe to strike fast and hard, and remain agile. • Circe – Word of Smaller Fortune: While it looks ridiculous, the extra speed and Dodge chance gained from shrinking is very useful against Eris.
• Hephaestus – Volcanic Strike or Volcanic Flourish: You don't need both but adding a huge burst of explosive damage to your Attack or Special respectively is always useful.
• Hermes – Greater Evasion: Eris' fast projectiles can be hard to anticipate with a dash, so a passive Dodge chance is very handy.
• Zeus – Heaven Flourish: Quickly toss a knife at Eris to apply Blitz thanks to this Boon, then Omega Attack for lots of lightning damage.

• Be prepared to Dash and Sprint a lot: Eris' fast-moving projectiles and attacks are hard to dodge, so it's best to get out their way before they even happen when possible. Having an enhanced Sprint speed will really help with this and will let you easily escape the area-of-effect blasts of her bombs.
• Avoid running directly away from her: She's a crack shot with the Adamant Rail and will just shoot Melinoe in the spine with ease if you run away. Dodge her attacks and disrupt her aim by sprinting in circles around her or juking her by quickly changing direction with a Dash.

• Eris calls in reinforcements: In the times I've fought her, these reinforcements have rarely been a problem, typically arriving when she has roughly 40% and 10% health remaining. Will Hades 2 launch on consoles?

Supergiant Games fully intends to release Hades 2 on consoles, PC, and Mac, though anything more specific beyond that is unknown. The studio says in a Hades 2 frequently asked questions post on the Supergiant Games Discord : "We expect for Hades 2 to eventually be available for PC, Mac, and console platforms (though cannot confirm which platforms yet)."

That's obviously quite a way off, so that leave♋s plenty of time for Supergiant Games to ඣupdate the early access build with new content, activities and more, eventually building towards the full 1.0 release, whenever that may be.

For now, Supergiant Games has said that the first major update to Hades 2 will be arriving "some months" after the early access release. That's obviously quite a vague timeframe that could place the first update's release sometime in the summer or even later. Bronze is one of many crafting materials in Hades 2, and you can get it by mining Bronze deposits with the Crescent Pick in the City of Ephyra. You will definitely already have the Crescent Pick by now so getting to the Surface is the ෴main challenge here. To do this, you need to cast the 'Permeation of Witching-Wards' Incantation, which brea🍬ks the wards blocking the stairs opposite where you normally descend to start your night runs.

Once you've got to the Surface, keep an eye out for any Bronze deposits – tall piles of old bronze armor and other metalwork – and strike it with your Crescent Pick. The Reagent Sensing Incantation will spot any deposits for you, so keep an eye out for any bright beams of light guiding you. As with Silver deposits, you should get three pieces of Bronze per deposit you mine.

Melinoe's Underworld curse means the damage over time she suffers makes trips to Ephyra very short, so it's difficult to find a Bronze deposit at all, let alone multiple. To maximize the amount of Bronz♑e you can mine, you also need to cast the 'Unraveling a Fateful Bond' Incantation which removes the damage-over-time effect while on the Surface. This'll let you freely explore Ephyra so you can complete plenty of encounters in the city and will have a good chance of finding plenty of Bronze.

How to unlock and activate Hades 2 Arcana Cards

After finishing your first run in Hades 2, head to the Altar of Ashes at the entrance to the Crossroad's training area and here you can start unlocking Arcana Cards from the Altar menu. Arcana Cards cost varying amounts of Ashes and sometimes rare resources to unlock. Buying a card also reveals other cards in the aꩲdjacent spaces below and to the right, gradually filling out the entire 5x5 Arcana Card grid.

However, unlocked Arcana Cards will only grant their buffs and benefits if they are activated, which is done by selecting a card. You'll notice that this fills Melinoe's Grasp gauge on the right of the Altar menu. Each card has a number and the green hand Grasp icon in the top-right corner, which indicates how much Grasp the card uses. Since Melinoe's starting Grasp is only 10, you are very limited in the number of Arcana Cards you can activate at once, so increasing Melinoe's maximum Grasp by spending any Psyche is crucial to letting you activate as many Arcana Cards as possible.

Each Grasp upgrade increases your Grasp by two but costs more and more Psyche. You still won't be able activate that many Arcana Cards after several upgrades, but you will have space for a good mix of low and high-Grasp cards for a range of buffs. You can also freely activate and deactivate your Arcana Cards whenever you use the Altar between runs to change your buffs, so long as you don't exceed Melinoe's Grasp li𝄹m✤it.

Additionally, some Arcana Cards cost 0 Grasp but will automatically activate if a specific condition is met instead – these are marked as Awakening Cards and they're usually pretty powerful. • II, The Wayward Son: After you exit a Location, restore 2 health or double that if you have 30% health or less.
• III, The Huntress: While you have less than 100% Magick, your Attack and Special deal 30% more damage.
• V, The Messenger (Awakening): You have a +6% chance to Dodge. Activate at least three Cards that use the same amount of Grasp to activate this card.
• VI, The Furies: Deal 20% more damage to enemies in your Casts.
• VII, The Titan: Increase your maximum health and magick by 20.
• VIII, The Unseen: Restore 2 Magick every second.
• XII, Eternity: Start each run with one Death Defiance, letting you come back to life with 40% health and Magick after falling to zero health.
• XIII, The Centaur (Awakening): Your maximum health and Magick increases by 3 for every five Locations you pass through. Activate Cards that use 1 Grasp through to 5 Grasp to activate this card as well.
• XVII, The Boatman: Start each run with 200 Gold to spend on Charon’s wares.
• XIX, Excellence: Any Boons offered during a run are 30% more likely to be Rare.
• XXII, The Champions: Start each run with one more Change of Fate, letting you reroll Boons and certain other choices only.

As you keep playing the game, you'll eventually unlock the "Consecration of Ashes" Incantation at the Crossroads cauldron that grants the ability to upgrade your Arcana Cards with Moon Dust. I learned ✃this Incantation from Hecate on my fifth time defeating her, and it requires these ingredients:

While casting the Incantation automatically gives you three Moon Dust to get you started, you can get more Moon Dust by trading 80 Bones for 1 Moon Dust with the Wretched Broker at the Crossroads camp, redeeming some from Charon's Gold Rewards, or brewing it at the Crossroads Cauldron with two alchemy recipes. You can also upgrade cards a second time to increase their effectiveness even more, but the upgrade costs are substantially higher with a lot more Moon Dust needed and often very rare resources too.

In part, that's because it will be instantly familiar to any fan of the original game. Within moments of starting the Hades 2 Early Access offering, I could feel my muscle memory of the original game flowing back into my fingers. New protagonist Melinoë isn't a carbon copy of brother Zagreus, but she dashes and slices her way through the hordes of the underworld in such a way that the family resemblance isn't difficult to see. Different weapons allow for different styles – from a blisteri𝓀ngly fast dagger and sickle combo to a slow but devastating axe – and divine boons further diverge distinct playstyles, but the roguelike DNA at the heart of this sequel remains as tight and cutthroat as its predecessor.

Where Hades 2 𒊎differs most is with Melinoë herself. Raised away from the house of Hades under the care of Hecate, Goddess of Magic, Melinoë has a few new tricks. Her 👍basic melee attack combos and ranged special moves are accompanied by 'Casts', an ensnaring area-of-effect attack that holds incoming foes at bay for a few seconds. It took a while to get to grips with, but it's become one of the best new additions to Hades 2, its ability to stop enemies in their tracks a brilliant bit of skill-expressive crowd control that's pivotal in later stages.

Melinoë also has access to Omega skills, empowered abilities that take a moment to charge, and cost mana to cast. These skills can augment attacks, specials, and casts – and differ with each unique weapon, granting a host of opportunities to further diversify your approach with each run. The associated mana cost also powers up𝓀 another of Melinoë's tricks; sometimes, in place of a traditional divine bonus, you're visited by moon goddess Selune, who offers a powerful extra ability that's activated after you've spent a particular amount of mana. The changes are limited, but they're enough to ensure that Hades 2 doesn't feel like a simple rehash of its predecessor, the risk-reward of this smart but optional loop diversifying each run far beyond your choice of weapons or divine favors.

Godlike 

The divinities behind those favors are further evidence of Supergiant's confidence 𒀰in its original formula. Returning gods include the likes of Zeus and Poseidon, their rapid lightning strikes or percussive water spouts each lending a very d🌸ifferent feel to their runs. But a host of new characters offer their own styles; my favorite boon from the gruff blacksmith Hephaestus offers the chance to demolish an enemy with a powerful explosive attack every few seconds; the matronly Hestia offers the ability to Scorch enemies, chipping away at the health more gradually. 

Even with an expanded roster, it feels easy to latch onto the core of a run and build around it. Wi🗹th Zeus, I might opt for faster attack speed to optimize my chain lightning; with Demeter, I might play slower, freezing enemies or holding them in place with enhanced Casts before following up with more powerful, augmented attacks; I might opt for a mana-focused Selune build, or tank up with the help of the Arachne encounter and an armor-stacking build.

More than just tools for your run, the 🤪characters that help shape those builds flit around the edges of your narrative. Just as they did for the many millennia of stories leading up to the original Hades, the gods and demi-gods of Greek myth bicker, snipe, flirt, and undermine. But whereas in the original Hades they often felt like set-dressing for a distinctly personal narrative between Zagreus and his father, in the sequel they have much more to contribute to the broader story. 

As Melinoë advances on her attempt to overthrow Chronos, it's made clear how personal the stakes are for each of these visiting divinities. Hades 2's narrative meanders much more openly, and the characters that it touches have far more to say. Stylish, confident, but most importantly flawed, they're part of a story that's more ambitious, yet ♈feels an even more integral part of this sequel, despite what genre conventions might suggest.

The (Cross)road ahead 

An increased narrative ambition is symptomatic of a game that's reaching far beyond what it's done before. Hades 2 is massive, every part of itself bigger than its predecessor. Progression is no longer a case of simply amassing resources to spend on upgrades, but of balancin♕g a host of materials found in wildly different parts of the game and collected with tools that have to be carefully selected based on your needs. More complex build patterns help fill sprawling combat encounters with excellent (if frustrating) enemy variety. The Crossroads is a bigger hub world, the center of a more confidently-told narrativ🌃e that leans even further into the bizarre nature of this mythology. And without wanting to veer into spoiler territory, Melinoë's crusade against Chronos is quite literally only the half of it.

There's a cost to all that increased scope. Hades 2 isn't quite finished cooking, and there's a handful of placeholder art that, in spite of its unreadiness, I still enjoy seeing – one of those all-too-rare peeks behind the curtain. There are a handful of balance tweaks I&apos🅺;m hoping to see, the difficulty spikes of later stages provided by both the understandable increase in enemy complexity, but also the much less enjoyable increase in enemy density. It is, however, already, unquestionably, an excellent roguelike. 

The frantic speed and intensity of the hacking, slashing, dashing combat that shaped the first game is expanded on just as successfully as the flirtatious charm that helped the original Hades carve out a narrative niche in a genre tha𝕴t had rejected traditional storytelling for much of its 40-year history. For now, vengeance agains🍨t Chronos still eludes my Melinoë, but Hades 2 is a game that I know will keep me coming back long after the Titan has fallen.

Hades 2 Hecate boss fight tips

Hecate, like most bosses🍷 in both Hades 2 and its predecessor, splits her boss fight into three sections. They don't differ too much from one another, but you'll know that you've got your teacher down to around two-thirds and one-third of her health when she turns invulnerable for a few moments and returns to the centre of the arena. In between those stages, however, it's relatively easy to get in plenty of attacks against Hecate while dodging in between her own strikes.

Hecate doesn't have all that many moves, and what she does have can be relatively easily countered. In every fight, her first attack is a wave of green fire that spreads out across the arena and then returns to Hecate. These waves are easy to dash through, and whᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚile they're moving, Hecate doesn't perform any other attacks - as long as you don't get locked into a combo move for too long, you should be able to dash through the wave, hit her several times, and then dash back as the wave returns. 

Another popular move is to spawn two clones of herself that mirror her attacks. These attacks - either an array of orbs or some green flames - are alsoꦅ quite easy to avoid. Helpfully, Hecate once again locks herself in place, but two of the three versions of the boss are fakes that don't take any damage. You can use your ranged Special attacks to determine which Hecate is re𝔍al, and either reposition or follow up with some extra damage while she finishes her attack. Be careful, however, as once the clones disappear, Hecate will unleashes that same ring of green flame.

Hecate spawns another set of mobs at the start of her second and third phases - after she's hit roughly 66% and 33% of her HP bar. The first section, at 66%, is only four mobs that fire slow-moving projectiles at the player, and can be killed in just a few hits, but you'll have to defeat all of them before Hecꦚate lets down her shield. Until all four are down, she'll cast area spells beneath your feet, which you'll need to dodge. 

At 33%,ಞ Hecate will spawn several more of these mobs, which also need to be killed (while dodging those area spells) before you can continue the fight. However, she'll also caꦐst a curse towards Melinoë. This fast-moving projectile will eventually catch up to you no matter how successfully you dodge it - it's too fast-moving to evade forever - and will turn Melinoë into a slow-moving sheep with a weak attack for several seconds. Dodging the spells and killing the mobs is extremely difficult in sheep-form, but it lasts for a set amount of time. 

As the curse does no direct damage, the best strategy is to get hit by it as early as possible, leaving you in mi🏅nimal danger while the mobs are spawned. Once the curse expires, you'll be able to take out the mobs, with help from the Terrain Damage of the trees around 🌄the arena. Later in the game, an Incantation will allow you to use an animal Familiar - some of these can absorb the curse for you with careful positioning, allowing you to move onto the mobs even quicker.

Most of the rest of Hecate's attacks are charged, wave-like attacks that emanate from her staff, but can be easily൩ dodged. As the boss winds up, simply dash towards her at close range, and you'll end up behind her, safe from any damage. Hecate can repeat these attacks a couple of times in quick succession, so get ready to dash into her multiple times.

Best Boons and Weapons for beating Hecate in Hades 2

In my opinion, the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best Hades 2 weapon to beat the Hecate boss fight is Lim and Oros, the Sister Blades. These fast-moving blades allow you to get a lot🔥 of quick attacks in, which is perfect for maximizing damage during those large wave attacks. If you're able to complete a combo and get the final attack off, that's great, but there's still much more damage output for much less risk than with some of the slower-moving weapons.

The best Hades 2 Boon for this fight depends a little more on personal preference, but I find that Zeus and Hephaestus are particularly useful d𝄹ue to their ability to deal substantial burst damage, while Demeter and Aphrodite's increased damage is also generally helpful. Anything that improves your Special ability is particularly helpful when dealing with the wave attacks or Hecate's clones, but don't focus too closely on your Casts - Hecate moves around a lot, and bosses are hindered far less than normal foes by freezing, ensnarinꦿg, and crowd control effects.

If you're looking 𓆉to boost your chances even further, then collecting Centaur Hearts to increase your HP, or talking to Arachne to collect armor (and taking her trinket to gain even more) will give you extra room to take some damage.

How to play Hades 2 in early access

Hades 2 is now available to buy on and the for $29.99/£24.99, granting you access to the early access build of the game. Buy the game and get i♛t downloaded like you would with any other game on Steam an✨d the EGS, and then you can start playing.

PC is currently the only platform for Hades 2 early access, but Supergiant Games is expecting to launch 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Hades 2 on consoles too. The exact selection of consoles, and when it'll get re🐎leased on them, is not clear, however.

How long will Hades 2 early access last?

There is no set time for Hades 2 early access at the moment, but developer Supergiant Games has said in an in-game update log that it expects the game to be in early access "at least through the end of 2024". You can explore the Crossroads hub area and venture to Erebus and several regions beyond, fighting several bos♈ses along the way.

1. Death is a key part of Hades 2

In case you've not played Hades 1 or Hades 2 is your first experience playing a roguelike game, dying and failure is a core part of the genre, leading to gradual imprꦺovement with each death. In Hades 2 almost every failed attempt unlocks new features and mechanics for Melinoe, making the game feel like its constantly changing and responding to your learnꦅings. Getting sent back to the Crossroads is also your opportunity to spend any resources you may have collected on your run. Unlock anything new, such as more weapons, tools, or Arcana Cards, and try things out as this may help you get a little further on your next run.

2. Prioritize Boons that improve your Attack, Special, and Cast

Boons can fit into different slots (visible on the left side of your screen), either directly affecting one of your main abilities, such as your Special or Cast, or just providing a passive buff that broadly improves Melinoe in some way. I suggest trying to get solid options for your Attack, Special, and Cast slots early in a run to ensure your basi🐻c methods of dealing with enemies are nicely enhanced. Your Cast especially can benefit from lots of Boons, letting it create Cyclones, pull enemies together, or strike enemies with lightning. Upgraded Keepsakes from any of the main gods will really help with getting the best Boons too.

3. Hephaestus has some of the best Boons

If you want some examples of these top-quality Boons, Hephaestus might be your guy. His Volcanic Strike and Volcanic Flourish Boons add massive damage to Melinoe's Attacks and Specials thanks to some explosive blasts. These explosions can cover a wide area, hitting many targets at once too, which can really help certain 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Hades 2 weapons, such as the Sister Blades. They're also especially good against bosses and armored enemies, le🐼tting you strip their health with large chunks of damage every so often.

4. Spend your Magick to cast powerful Omega Moves

When you ♋start a run, open the Boons menu and check for any Surrounding Auras that may be active on the location. These environmental conditions can affect what collectible resources appear that may be necessary for certain Incantations or trade. For example, the Rainfall aura for Erebus means Deathcap mushrooms have a chance to appear in encounter areas, so be on the lookout for those rare fungi and other resources like them.

5. Sprinting is essential for avoiding danger

Some enemies in Hades 2, especially bosses, are much harder to pin down with your Cast or have attacks that aggressively track you or travel at speed. Since Melinoe can't rapidly Dash, you need to use her Sprint ability too. Holding the Dash button lets Melinoe move a bit faster than her usual run𝓡n🙈ing speed, which is often much better than just Dashing over and over. Just like with the Cast, Sprint can also be improved by Boons, with some increasing the speed to a ridiculous pace, and others adding ways for Sprint to deal damage or apply Curses and effects to enemies.

6. Focus on getting Ashes early on

After three or four runs, you should have enough Ashes to unlock several Arcana Cards and may have filled Melinoe🐼's Grasp to its limit. After this it's best to get a balance of Ashes and Psyche over your runs, as getting too much of one will be inefficient. Psyche is also much easier to get once you've got the Tablet of Peace or even a Familiar.

7. Search every Encounter room for resources and loot before moving on

After collecting your Encounter reward, take the time to have a look around for any resources or loot items, rather than running off through the next door. The Reagent Sensing Incantation helps a lot with the as Selene will guide you to mining, digging, and fishing spots, flowers, and Lone Shades that can be compelled. However, she won't guide you to Gold Coin vases, which can hold just the right amou𓄧nt you need to get a particular upgrade from Charon's sh👍ops. Later in the game, you need to keep an eye out for Wells of Charon, Shrines of Hermes, and Infernal Trials too.

8. Remember to switch your Gathering Tool between runs

Unless you have a dire need to mine certain ores with the Crescent Pick or dig for a particular seed with the Silver Spade, you should make sure you switch your Gathering Tool between runs frequently to steadily build up an inventory of all sorts of resources. 9. Get a Familiar as early as possible

The Wretched Broker's tantalizing trades means it can be tempting to convert all your Nightshade flowers and Molies into Bones to buy more Nectar and Fated Fabric, but you should hold off from doing this unless you definitely have plenty of spares or really need the Bones. Fated Fabric is a very important material to collect for early-game🙈 Incantations and crafting, so most of your Bones will go towards that, but it's better to pick them as Encounter rewards during runs and use the active Grave Thirst weapon when you can.

11. Gift Nectar to every character you find

Nectar is the first gift item you'll find, and you should hand one jar of it to all the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Hades 2 characters you come across, both in the Crossroads and during runs. The first time you give Nectar to any  character, they always give you a Keepsake – a useful item that provides a unique buff during a run. 12. Get the Fated Intervention Incantation as soon as possible

Performing Incantations at the Crossroads cauldron is the main way you'll permanently unlocknew features and upgrades that Melinoe can use during ꧂runs or in the Crossroad. One of the most important 🌟ones is Fated Intervention Incantation (it costs one Silver, two Ash, and two Molies) which appears to do nothing at first.

Attempt a run after you've performed the Incantation and then when you die, you'll see some story developments involving a new character. This will also unlock the Fated List of Minor Prophecies in the Crossroads, which is a board of challenges that can be completed for even more rewards, which can help you out a lot.

Best Hades 2 weapons tier list

I’d say that all the Nocturnal Arms are perf💙ectly adequate Hades 2 weapons at the very least, but a couple of them are hard to put back in the Silver Pool because they're so powerful and fun to us꧑e. I've ranked the best Hades 2 weapons below based on my experience using them across multiple runs, facing all sorts of enemies and bosses:

• S-tier:
  • Sister Blades: Lim and Oros' can pretty much do it all, but their single-target and close-range damage is where they really shine. Rapid stabs stun and wear down regular enemies, the Omega Attack is great for burst damage against bosses, and the ranged Special is useful for applying various curses and effects.
• A-tier:
  • Black Coat: The latest and final Hades 2 weapon, the Black Coat is an interesting weapon that combines great melee power, explosive ranged attacks, and a strong block ability. It can be difficult to use as you’ll be switching between charging into the fray to deliver melee attacks and staying back to fire volleys of missiles, but that versatility is also what makes it very good.
• B-tier:
  • Moonstone Axe: Deals hefty damage with each massive swing, making it great against crowds of enemies and bosses, but it’s very slow. That’s not going to be to everyone’s tastes and it means there’s definitely a bit of a learning curve with his weapon.
  • Argent Skull: Similarly, the Skull is like the ranged equivalent of the axe, dealing lots of damage with each blast, but there’s a certain playstyle you need to learn to use it effectively, as precisely aiming and then retrieving your spent shells is unlike any other weapon.
  • Witch's Staff: Melinoe's starting weapon is a solid option that's easy to use as a beginner but doesn’t feel like it excels in anything particular. Its standard Attacks are far weaker than the Sister Blades, and the Omega Moves deal solid damage in a wider area, but not as well as the Axe or Skull.
• C-tier:
  • Umbral Flames: The flames are much better than they at the start of early access, allowing you to saturate enemies and the area around Melinoe with fiery projectiles, but I still find them awkward to use because of the auto-targeting, causing projectiles to not always go where you want them to. They can be massively improved with the right Boons too.

All Hades 2 weapons and how to unlock them

The Hades 2 early access build has six Nocturnal Arms availabl✅e for players to unlock at the Silver Pool. Getti🌜ng all of them takes a while as you'll need to do a lot of mining with the Crescent Pick to gather the necessary resources, and you have to wait for the Silver Pool to reveal certain weapons before you can unlock them. Below I've explained how each of the weapons works and have listed the resources you need to unlock them:

Hades 2 Witch's Staff, Descura

A magic staffꦬ that Melinoe uses for precise melee Attacks with considerable reach and longer-range Specials and Omega Attacks. Her basic Attack combo deals low damage but can easily hit multiple enemies at once, while her special can be easily spammed to apply different Curses and effects.

This is Melinoe's starting weapon and is unlocked by default.

Hades 2 Sister Blades, Lim and Oros

A dagger and sickle used together for a mix of short-range sweeps and stabs, dealing high damage to enemies up close. For the Special, Melinoe tosses the dagger out dealing low damage, but channeling the Omega Special allows up to five daggers to be thrown in a fan pattern to hit multiple enemies. This Special is also good for applying Curses and effectᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤🔯⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚs to many enemies at once.

Unlocked at the Silver Pool by spending:

• 1 Silver: Mined using the Crescent Pick in Erebus.

Hades 2 Moonstone Axe, Zorephet

A hefty axe that deals significant damage with each sweep and strike, but is very slow to use, leaving Melinoe open to harm. To mitigate this, the Special attack can be used to briefly block almost any kind of damage and can then be channeled with Magick to create three blasts in a straight line in front, dealin🦋g massive damage.

Unlocked at the Silver Pool by spending:

• 15 Silver: Mined in Erebus.

Hades 2 Umbral Flames, Ygnium

A pair of torches that spit magick ghost orbs at enemies that deal low damage on impact and pass through enemies. Fire continuously and eventually the size and damage of theꦫ ghost orbs will increase substantially, consuming a little Magick per shot. To protect you up close, the Umbral Flames' Special creates one fiery orb that spirals outwards from Melinoe, dealing damage on impact, and the Omega version creates two fire orbs that orbit Melinoe for a few seconds.

Unlocked at the Silver Pool by spending:

• 3 Silver: Mined in Erebus.
• 3 Cinders: One Cinder is earned every time you 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:defeat Hecate in Hades 2.

Hades 2 Argent Skull, Revaal

The Hades 2 Black Coat is quite a complicated weapon that can do a bit of everything, having solid melee attacks, ranged attacks, and defences. Who is Melinoe in Hades 2?

The Hades 2 player character is Melinoe (Mel-in-OH-ee). She's the daughter of Hades and Persephone, younger sister of Zagreus, and Princess of the Underworld. Before activating, the Boon instead has a negative effect. • Hera, Queen of the Olympians: The Goddess of marriage and women provides Boons that usually focus on applying or enhancing the Hitch effect, linking enemies together to spread any damage they take.
• Hermes, God of Swiftness: Boons from Hermes improve Melinoe's dodging, speed up her abilities, and make her Omega Moves cost less Magick. He's also a spy for the Silver Sisters, helping in the fight against Chronos.
• Hestia, Goddess of Flame: Fiery Boons from Hestia typically let Melinoe apply Scorch to enemies in various ways, dealing lots of damage over time, and launch fire projectiles when using certain abilities.
• Poseidon, God of the Sea: With Poseidon's Boons, Melinoe can benefit from numerous watery knockback buffs to her abilities and gain extra loot or improve future rewards.
• Selene, Moon Incarnate: Selene's Gifts of the Moon offer Melinoe a selection of Hexes, which are special powers that can be used only after spending a certain amount of Magick during an encounter. You can have only one Hex per run, so later Selene also provides Paths of Stars, which are skill tree points that can be spent on improving your current Hex.
• Zeus, King of the Olympians: The God of thunder offers Boons to Melinoe that allow her to strike enemies with powerful lightning, either through lightning bolts, chain-lightning, or the Blitz effect.

Hades 2 characters found at the Crossroads

The Crossroads has a small🌃er cast of Hades 2 characters making camp, though not necessarily all the ti𝓡me. Make sure you speak to them between runs and to give them gifts, such as Bath Salts or Twin Lures, to enjoy the Crossroad's facilities together.

• Dora, Listless Shade: A ghostly shade that haunts Melinoe's tent but in a friendly way. You can also find her around the Crossroads offering redecorating services in exchange for Prestige and other resources. • Nemesis, Retribution Incarnate: A moody warrior and daughter of Nyx who camps at the Crossroads. Because revenge and punishing hubris is her whole deal, she feels she should be doing Melinoe's job.
• Odysseus, Veteran Tactician: The Shade of the former King of Ithica and well-travelled, all-round hero found at the Crossroads, serving as a sort of military general.
• Hypnos, Sleep Incarnate: Unsurprisingly, he's asleep, although you can still give gifts to this son of Nyx.
• Schelemeus, Training Master: Skelly the training dummy from Hades 1 is back, now with a proper name! If you're ever unsure about what you could or should be doing while playing, it's worth checking in with him.
• Wretched Broker: A Shade that trades Bones for items and resources and sometimes vice versa. Seems awfully familiar.
• Moros, Doom Incarnate: Another child of Nyx and Emissary of the Three Fates. Moros looks over the Fated List of Minor Prophecies found in the Crossroads after casting the Fated Intervention Incantation at the Cauldron.
• Eris, Strife Incarnate: Appears occasionally in the Crossroads to gloat, moan, and be a general nuisance, especially by chucking junk all over the floor near where she stands.

Hades 2 characters found in the Underworld

Most of the followi𓆏ng Hades 2 characters cܫan be found exclusively in the Underworld regions – Erebus, Oceanus, the Mourning Fields, and Tartarus – as special vendors or bosses.

• Chronos, Titan of Time: The final boss of the Underworld path and main antagonist of Hades 2. He has taken over most of the Underworld, including the House of Hades, and has launched attacks against the Olympians, with the goal of creating a new Golden Age without the Olympians. He is the father of Hades, Zeus, Poseidon, and several other Olympian gods.

Hades 2 characters found on the Surface

The majority of these Hades 2 characters appear only in the Regions of the Surface path, which are the City of Ephyra, the Rift of Thessaly, and Mount Olympus. • Toula the cat: A lone feline you’ll happen across in the wrecked Rift of Thessaly port once the Surface path has been unlocked.
• Icarus, Free Spirit: The shade of the son of Daedalus and the lad who flew too close to the sun can appear in the Rift of Thessaly Region, providing bombing run assists and Latest Invention buffs at the end of a warship Encounter that can substantially improve Melinoe's overall power.
• Circe, Witch of the Changing: Another witch ally of Hecate's, specializing in being able to transform others. She has a chance of appearing on her own island in the Rift of Thessaly, offering Changes and Fortunes to Melinoe. These can alter her Arcana or even let her grow physically larger or smaller in size.
• Charybdis the Devouring: A named sea monster boss that has a chance of getting in the way in the Rift of Thessaly.
• Eris, Strife Incarnate: The Guardian of the Rift of Thessaly and the second boss on the Surface path. Eris is another of Nyx's children and wields the Adamant Rail, which was one of the Infernal Arms Zagreus could use in Hades 1. In hindsight, the fact that Hades 2 will star Melinoë should have been a giveaway, considering she's the sister of Zagreus and the daughter of Hades. She even says in the tra♊iler: "Wait for me father, I'll be there soon."

Hades 2 features a litany of boss battles, split between the Surface and Tartarus. Although she wasn’t named in the trailer, Supergiant revealed that our new protagonist is Melinoë. Still, another similarity between Mel and Zag is their connection to Orphism, a loosely defined branch of Greek mythology that centres on texts suppos🔯edly written by the legendary poet-hero Orpheus. You might remember him from th෴e original Hades – the sad lyre master who haunts the halls of the dead after losing his love, Eurydice.

Much of Orphism has a focus on the ancient Greek idea of the 'katabasis' - or journey to and return from the Underworld. Orpheus famously achieved this feat in his failed attempt to rescue Eurydice from her untimely death. In an interesting reversal of Zagrꩲeus' attempts to escape from Hades in the first game, Melinoë seems to be attempting her own katabasis, one hint that Hades 2 seems to be leaning more into its Orphic roots. 

The gift of prophecy 

And that's not the only hint. Many people wondered why Apollo never appeared in Hades 1, despite being a well-known Greek god and even the twin brother of Artemis, who does make an appearance. Given that Supergiant says it's been working on Hades 2 si♕nce 2021, and we now know Apollo will be in this game, it seems as though they’ve been saving him for this specifically.

Apollo and Orpheus have strong connections. In some versions of the myth, Apollo is Orpheus’s father. In many, he gave Orpheus his first lyre. In one play, Orpheus only worshipped Apollo and was killed for not honouring the other gods. In another telling, perhaps particularly relevant ꦺhere, it was Apollo who petitioned Hades to give Or𓆏pheus a chance to save his wife from the underworld.

In short, the appearance of Apollo in the sequel is another good indication that Hades 2 will be drawing on Orphism specifically, among the rest of its mythological inspirations. But don’t forget that Zagreus 𝔍has strong connections with Orphic traditions, too. By peeking into them, we might be able to make some guesses about what he’ll be up to in the sequel – and po🦩ssibly even why he didn’t show up in the trailer.

Just like we saw with Apollo, it's important to remember that there’s no unified story of the Greek gods. What we have instead are sometimes conflicting fragments that were written at different times and give different perspeꦉctives. One of these conflicts is even lampshaded in Hades: the overlap between Dionysus and Zagreus. Generally, historians see Zagreus as an earlier god who later merged with Dionysus in the my🔴thology. In Hades 1 the two characters come up with a plot to get Orpheus (him again!) to spread a story about them being connected, in a deliberate nod to this part of history.

But what are the stories of this Zagreus-Dionysus hybrid? One of the most important is also one of the central stories in Orphism: the death of Dionysus at the hands of the Titans. And while the Titans don’t♔ appear in Hades, Kronos, the villain of Hades 2, is the Titan of Time. That connection could show up in multiple ways in Hades 2. For instance, in Hades, it was revealed that Persephone thought Zagreus died soon after he was born. Hades 2 could go further into exploring what actually happened and why she believed that. The Zagreus-Dionysus of the Orphic myth died in infancy, so it’s not much of a stretch. We also know that the Kronos of the game was imprisoned in the Underworld, and this just might be why.

Alternatively, Zagreus might not be in that trailer because, well, he’s dead. I don’t think Supergiant would go as far as actually killing him off for good, but it would be a great set up for a bait and switch, and would allow him to show up ♌in the post game, handing out boon♕s and dry witticisms, giving him importance in the sequel without taking over from Melinoë.

We can only speculate on what Supergiant might do with K💯ronos, Melinoë, and the rest of the cast. But given their attention to historical detail and their care in interpreting and giving their own spin to the Greek myths, paying attention to the source material might just bring us more clues while we wait.

Twitter user Argetcross that the new lead Melinoe is a loꦉt ꧑like her sibling and previous protagonist Zagreus in that she's a relatively minor character in myth, only appearing in Orphic Hymns. She's the daughter of Persephone and Hades and a goddess herself, known to wander the earth at night with ghosts. 

The cha꧋racter you see her sparring with at the start of the trailer is likely Hekate, the goddess of witchcraft, necromancy, and much more. Much like how myth casts Zagreus as the potential first form of Dionys൲us, Argetcross flags Melinoe as likely another form of Hekate. 

In myth, Hekate prominently in the Abduction of Peဣrsephone tale – something you'll be familiar with if you've played Hades. She hears Persephone's cries when she is taken and acts as Demeter's guide as she seeks her daught🐻er. When Persephone eventually becomes Queen of the Underworld, Hekate takes to her side as a companion and minister. With that in mind, she appears to be an excellent pick for Melinoe's tutor.

Moving onto the big bad, Kronos is the Titan of Time and father to Zeus and Hades himself – you’ve fought your dad, and now you’re fighting your grandad. He overthrew his ow♚n father Ouranos – the villain of the third game confirmed? – to claim the title of King of the Heavens. He swiftly grew paranoid as a prophecy foretold him being overthrown by his children, so he ate them all. Expect Zeus, who waged war against his father and imprisoned him alongside the other Titan🌄s after being sparred by his mother. There are a lot of daddy issues in Greek Mythology.
