Other developers may be rushing🐠 to the golden markets of Facebook and the Apple App Store, but not Activision. "We don't view the App Store as a really big opportunity for dedicated games," said company CEO Bobby Kotick at the Reuters Global Media Summit.
It'sgood news for competitor EA,which has beencreating App store versions of its AAA titles, as well as Gameloft, a company that has found App Store success by making handheld clones of console titles (including clonin🔯g Activision's Modern Warfarewith iPhone game Mod💟ern Combat.)
"ꩲIt's a different question assessing it as a business opportunity. Right now we don't see an opportunity for us to participate in that market," Kotick continued. “The place where you have the opportunities for growth is within the communities of franchises we control."
